We belong to Jesus only when we behave like Jesus. Steve Smith’s message is about loving one another, a commandment that was both old and new when Christ gave it. From 1 John 2:7-11, we see that hatred for others is a symptom of walking in the darkness, and God’s remedy is true light in the person and work of Jesus Christ, whose love enables us to love others. Walking in the light is freedom, and another test of authentic faith, where we can know that we possess what we profess.
