(From James 1:1-8) Nick Reed begins a new series on the book of James, preaching a view of joy as something greater than happiness, and our identity in Jesus as something greater than our circumstances. Changing our view of trials by looking to the end result changes how we go through it. Nick reminds us that God will use a trial to build our perseverance for the next one, and God is there to give us wisdom if we pray and expect Him to equip us for whatever we endure. We also have the example of the Lord Jesus, who "for the joy set before Him, endured the cross" for our freedom, the end result.
