Episode description

Vincent William Van Gogh is one of the most influential painters in the history of Western art.

Known for his vivid use of colors and his dramatic brushstrokes, Van Gogh’s works are among the most expensive paintings to have ever sold.

He would not get to appreciate the fruits of that success during his lifetime, though.

Van Gogh would suffer from severe mental health issues, and ultimately wind up institutionalized at the age of 35. At the time of his suicide in 1890, he was widely considered “a madman and a failure.”

This week, we are asking the question: is Vincent Van Gogh the worst?
