¶ Introduction to the Power of Your Thoughts
I am going to explain why your thoughts matter. You're finally going to have this aha moment where you understand the difference between the subconscious and the conscious mind and what's going on with your thought pattern. So these are subconscious programs to put it lightly. I've taught this to children, so I'm pretty sure you're going to get it today.
By the end of this, you will know exactly how to move forward with your thought process, us how to change some of those thoughts that are actually holding you back from big things, from your big goals, from being someone that you dream of. So let's get started. If you don't already know me, my name is Aubrey Barr. I'm a subconscious release technique practitioner, and I love all things thought process.
And actually, it's been such a beautiful journey for me to help creative people to understand what's really going on in their minds and be able to somatically release some of these thoughts that just are not serving them at all. Just think about it today. I've probably already had 20,000 thoughts. Like I definitely don't know that. I can't recall every single one, right? It's background noise. It's something that takes up space. It's not always good.
Sometimes it's rather difficult actually, but it is a way for your mind to keep you safe. It wants to keep you away from things that look dangerous or feel dangerous, it's definitely something that puts things to fear on the radar. There's some reasons why it's a good thing, but at the same time, it can absolutely be detrimental to some of us. Now, if you're in your 40s, like I am.
Barely in my 40s. But if you are, just think about how many thoughts you've collected over the years because of the experiences you've been in that have cemented themselves in your mind. There's so many. When people talk about, well, I really feel confident. I really feel like I can do it. I know I can do it. So I'm going to go ahead and set this big goal and I'm going to follow it through. And then they find all these hiccups and they're like, every day I'm telling myself, you can do this.
I know you can. You have all the tools you need and you're doing all this positive self-talk. And yet in the background, you have some thoughts that are like, hey, you're going to fail. Or hey, last time you did this, it went horribly wrong. Do you remember that time you wasted half of your life? There's all of these thoughts in the background that we just can't consciously grasp. And so how do we get rid of them? How do we move past them? And that's where mindset work comes in.
And doing subconscious release is actually an amazing way to do that and very quickly. But for today, I really wanted to drive home this concept for you. A lot of you are going through times in your life where you're thinking, I really want this big thing, or I want to switch my careers, or I'd like to do some passive income.
¶ The Importance of Taking Action on Your Thoughts
I'd like to have a different lifestyle. lifestyle so if you are and you keep coming to this crossroads and you're what am I supposed to do how am I going to change this I keep ending up in the same spot this conversation today is going to be perfect for you first off what you need to understand is that when you think of something you first have this idea you put things into action then it comes true so a lot of you are having in these thoughts and not following it through with the action. Okay.
Have you read, by the way, the book, The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Waddles? It's fantastic. It sounds weird. When I first heard that title, I was like, okay, that didn't sound like anything I'd be interested in. But yet here I am, having read it probably a hundred times for the last three years, one of my mentors. Subconscious Release Technique Method, originally put me onto this book and I've learned many lessons from it. And I know you would too.
So it's so old that you can just find it on the internet, like a digital copy, and you could just Just read it or you can physically buy a copy and I'll put a link in the comments so you have access to that. But it's well worth your time. He talks about the thought process. He talks about how everything that's been created, whether it's your computer, this guy right here, even this gem, he talks about how it was created first by a thought, which I think is insanely
powerful when you think about it. So let me read this quote from him. By thought, the thing you want is brought to you. you by action, you receive it. A lot of people that want to focus on positive affirmations and positively, you know, visualizing everything and doing the work where you have like a vision board and you've got, you know, these ideas that run through your head all day and you're just going to focus on those and everything's going to come to you.
That's not the understanding of this. This is, let's think about it first. Yes, let's set ourselves up for all the wonderful things that come along with this thought, but also let's take actionable steps to get us towards that process. And every day we do as much as we can. In order to get us towards that goal. So we don't waste any days. This is very hard for my ADHD to come around to because quite honestly, we do waste some days because that's kind of how our energy is.
That's how our flow is. That's how our mind is. But I've been able to work through a lot of that just by using this book and my subconscious release technique. I know a lot of you are like, okay, Aubrey, yeah, I get it. But how do I do that? And I want you to sit for a minute and think about a time when you actually did do this, but you didn't realize you were doing it. How many of you have been in a situation where you're like, oh my gosh, this is actually happening.
I never thought it would, but I had this idea that it might at some point, maybe it's meeting your spouse, right? You have this idea of meeting this person and, And, you know, you feel like, wow, there's really a connection there. We're going to have a great life together. And it's such a great thought. But yet you continue with your life and all of a sudden it just shows up and you're like, oh, my gosh, where did this come from? This is great.
You know, some of you didn't get that. That is the idea, right? Or some of you got a surprise pregnancy announcement. That's something I didn't get. I have this idea. I want this family. And then all of a sudden it's just here. You know, I've done all the things before that and it showed up, right? I've put the thought out there into the world and then I took action. And well, you know how that goes, hopefully.
¶ Reflecting on Past Manifestations
So, yeah, there's just like so many things that happen in life where when we look back, we can say, you know what? I did see that happening for me. Now, was I sure it was going to happen? No, you know, I was a little nervous about it. Some of it, it might be like travel. For me personally, that's happened where I see myself somewhere. And then a year later, I'm like, oh my gosh, this looks just like what I wanted to do. I didn't even realize it.
And remember that it's twofold, right? We not only put the thought out there, but we also take the action. So what does that look like for you? Can you think about a circumstance where you've done that before in the past? I will say before I was into mindset work at all, so back when I was 29 years old, I really wanted to have a peaceful, beautiful birth. Okay. We watch all these movies out there and man, these ladies are screaming like it's no tomorrow.
Having this baby is the most painful thing they've ever experienced. And it's just this whirlwind of trauma and mishaps and everything's unexpected and me being more natural-minded, super into natural health, super into alternative health, my two decades of massage work. I have alternative medicine running through my veins and I thought, you know what, I finally get to have this child. Like I really want it to go smoothly. I really want it to be what I want it
to be. I don't want to end up in a traumatic situation. I've heard horror stories from people. And honestly, that's kind of the world of birth. It's like, hey, whatever happens, happens, and I'm screwed, or I give my body over to everybody else's decisions. It's really an unhealthy mindset when you think about it. Now, all interventions have a place. I'm not saying they don't. But what I am saying is more of us should be able to have a natural, peaceful birth.
So that was my mindset and I really honed in on that I mean like I said this was before I really understood the value of my thoughts and I would spend every day when I was pregnant we did IVF so I knew exactly when I got pregnant and I spent every day visualizing that baby growing and every day I would see me having this very easy birth like just you know I'm just here to to have a baby. That was my mindset, right? My body can handle it. I was putting a lot of trust in
my body, which hello, it's supposed to be able to do that. So here we go. And it was just amazing to go through that process and think about it every day and really hone in on that.
¶ Visualizing and Embodying Positive Birth Experiences
Not only do you just think about what's going to happen, but you actually put the emotion into it. This That feeling of like, oh, this is easy. This is pleasant. I can do this. I'm confident. And then also gratitude. I always pull gratitude in because to me, it's changing. It changes everything. When you have gratitude, it's impossible to also feel like a victim, right? It's impossible to feel blame towards other people when you have gratitude.
It counters it. And so I try to pull in that gratitude and I really feel it deep inside my soul. and I would just visualize all of that coming to fruition the way I wanted to. Now, I will say one little caveat. I always visualized me giving birth in the water. I wanted to have a water birth. And I thought for sure, oh, this is going to be the most gentle. This is how it's going to play out. I just thought that would be the most peaceful way to get what I wanted.
I labored at home for an hour. I didn't even know it. There was already an app at that time. Way back in, you know, 2000s, there was already an app where I could just push the button. It would tell me how long my contraction was. And occasionally I'd look down and I'd say, oh, and then pretty soon I was like, oh my gosh, I am actually in labor. Like this is really happening. And so I called my husband and he took me to the birth center.
And I have to say, I had a baby in three hours from the start to delivering her. It was three hours and it was very peaceful. I made one noise at the very end when her head was coming out. Like, that's how peaceful it was for me. So was it in the water? No. And I'll tell you why. It wasn't in the water because the bath wasn't full. It takes 45 minutes for the bath to fill up for a water birth at this birth center. It was a very big tub and it wasn't full.
So I just delivered on a bed and I was fine with it because it was exactly how I imagined every bit of it. I was there. I was present. After I had her, I was like, normal. You know, I went home three hours later, right? So it was very untraumatic. It was very much the way I first thought of it. Now, I know a lot of people don't get that, and I'm not blaming situations on not having the right mindset.
The only thing I want you to take away from this is that it is very possible to set your mind to something, visualize it, and actually play it out inside your body before it even happens. That is a thing. There are plenty of coaches out there for sports teams that will have their athletes play through a scenario. There's been studies about it even where they would take one set of people and they would have them practice X amount of time every day doing a certain technique.
And then they took the other group and they had them visualize it. And guess who did better? The people who visualized it. OK, so this idea that all this is woo woo for whatever people say these days is it's not true.
¶ The Impact of Mindset on Life’s Opportunities
It's actually keeping you from the bigger things in life. It's keeping you from expanding your spirituality, your physicality, everything involved, your mental and emotional wellness. It's keeping you from expanding that by staying in this state of let me just see what happens to me.
You know let me just fly under the radar and hope for the best but yet not set myself up for the best this idea that we are victim to every circumstance it's just not good for you i mean i don't know how else to say it it's not good for you it actually sets you up for more disaster than you can imagine i love going with the flow but yet i've found a way to really focus on what my thoughts are in order to get me in the direction that I need to go.
And when there's mishaps, that's when my go with the flow Aubrey shows up. That's when it's like, okay, that wasn't meant for me. What else can I do here? How do I try again? Or maybe this is something that says, hey, you need to pivot a bit and then I'll pivot. Right? And that's the part of me that goes with the flow. But there is so much about me now that's intentional because I've learned the value of my thoughts and the value of my words.
And they go, yes, hand in hand. You don't have to always say out loud what you want. If you think it, that's also a big deal. Now, on a negative side, I can say this is never going to work. And if I have that repeating in my head 100 times a day, and I'm trying something new and big, that is really going to cramp your style like 100%. So yeah, there's a negative side to it. And that's why it's so important to intentionally set yourself up for these bigger goals.
See it through. Follow it to completion. Take the necessary action to get yourself there. If you can start to acknowledge when those negative thoughts come up for you and stop brushing them away and thinking, oh, that's ridiculous. I see this so much. Somebody has a negative thought that actually exposes it to themselves, right? Maybe you have a breakdown and you literally think, oh my gosh, I am not good enough. Write that down.
Start to journal around it. start to say, you know what, what story comes up when I think I'm not good enough? Do I remember a certain circumstance where that came up and it caused myself to really believe that? Like, take time. Don't just blow it off. Don't just ignore it. Because what it is, is your mind saying, you know what, we're ready to take care of this. We're ready to heal this. And you get to decide, do I want to?
And essentially when you're consciously saying, okay, that's ridiculous and saying, I don't think that way anymore, or I'm not going to think that way today. No, no, just forget about it. All you're doing is brushing aside. You're not allowing yourself to heal it.
¶ Letting Go of Limiting Beliefs and Negative Thoughts
So if you've made it this far in the video, but also in life where you're maybe in your 30s, maybe in your 40s, maybe even your 50s, let me tell you, you've acquired a lot of limiting beliefs in your mind by now. You've kept a lot and held on to them. And it's time to let them go. If you can't do anything else for yourself, start really looking at these thoughts and saying, how does this serve me? Where did it come from? Close your eyes and ask yourself, is this trapped inside my body?
You would be shocked how many of these thoughts and emotions are trapped in certain areas of your body. Whenever I have a certain situation come up, and I'm not going to get into it today, but it'll show up in my trap, in my right upper trap, and I know it. I can feel it because I'm so attuned to my body and my mind now that I'm like, let me get rid of it. Let me address this. We all have our own personal issues that we get to work through and we get to become a better person through.
Life is happening for you, not against you. So start to look at those little moments of triggers or of negative thought patterns, and subconscious programs, start to look at those and say, okay, how can I change based off of what I've learned about my subconscious thought process today? Because I guarantee you there are ways for you to lift out of that. And I'll give you a little tip.
What I love to do with my work is I help people find these thoughts that just keep popping up for them and I help them figure out what emotions are attached to them. So just a little quickie, write this down. Next time you have a thought come up like that, I would say, I release all positive and negative emotional blocks with, I'm not good enough, or I can't do this, or I'm a horrible person. That's just a simple kind of, let's call it a generalization way of getting past some of these barriers.
Is it going to work for everything? I don't know for you. Some of you have so much to work through that you're going to feel that change immediately with each thing because you have so much. You are full to the brim of these crazy thoughts and unhelpful limiting beliefs. So it will make a dent in those. For some of you, you need further work. You need to really dig down what's under that. What story have I been telling myself?
And I know you can do that. I know that we as normal folk can tap into that subconscious mind and figure out what those are. The problem is, is that most of us lack clarity. And so it's very difficult to decide which one of those is really bothering us. It's like this horrible, hard journey to be on to even find one of those because it's so cloudy and foggy in there. So doing any work to help release some of that pressure and some of those thoughts is gonna be super beneficial to you.
I'm going to include my link to seven minute emotional detox. And it's all about the upper shoulders, but still there's so many programs in there that everybody can benefit from releasing. It's a great place to start with just getting rid of some of that excess noise. So I will leave a link to that and my other courses where we dive deep into all of this. And you can really get rid of a lot of subconscious programs in each of those.
In one of my sessions, we get rid of close to 200 just in 45 minutes. So all of that is super helpful. But what I want you to remember for today is your thoughts do matter.
¶ Harnessing the Power of Your Thoughts for Success
Your thoughts are not only setting you up for your life, whether that's failure or success, however you define that, but they are also leading you towards certain action steps that you need to take. You get to decide, where do I want to go with this? How far do I want to go? Do I want to travel to some crazy place that I would never have imagined? Good, put it on your list, start thinking about it and then take necessary steps to understand how to get yourself there.
You will find that it'll start coming to you. It'll start attracting to you, which is the best way to have things come to you. All right, friends, I hope you have a beautiful day. We'll talk again soon.
