Odd's are you aren't listening with the intent of understanding. I'm willing to bet that 90% of the time you are listening with the intent to respond.
Don't worry, most of us have this problem. This is something that is natural to the human experience. We send the experiences that we hear through the "autobiographical filter" so that we can generate a response for our peers. This tactic has gotten us nowhere.
As the recent events in Charlotte have shown us, maybe it's time to improve the way we listen. Maybe, just maybe, this is the first step to improving ALL of our quality of lives here on Earth.
