Despite the fact that we are undoubtely the product of our environment, upbringing, genetics and many other factors, a good initial step to create our future is to stop blaming our parents for their actions. Yes, parents make mistakes, some more grave and serious than others.

And will do the same when we grow up: it's part of life.

However, how helpful is it to rest on those negative memories to justify our lack of action? How long can we live in the past?

'I am like this because my parents did this/didn't do that' is not the most helpful attitude.

'I can't have a stable realtionship because XYZ happened to me'. True, but we can decide to change direction, perhaps with the help of a skilled professional.

The beautiful constant part of life is change....
