Minisode: How do I stop my kid from believing a fundamental lie?
Episode description
Last week we discussed fundamental lies.
The way things happen or don't happen for us early on in life, and then our brains tell a story about that event....In last weeks episode I used the example of a kid who's the only one in his class not invited to a birthday party, and what the kid might make that mean; "I'm not good enough / why don't they like me / what's wrong with me / there's something wrong with me" etc. Of course none of these ideas are true, these kinds of thoughts are what I call fundamental lies.
I was asked by someone in the audience at Alices Wolf Pack event, something like; "How do we stop our kids from falling into the trap of believing a fundamental lie?" I answer her question in this podcast.
