Episode description

Not all of us have experienced huge childhood trauma. We’ve not been neglected, or physically, emotionally, or sexually abused in our formative years, and even today, there may not be anything inherently wrong with our life. You likely have a roof over your heads, food in your belly, an incoming coming in; for which you feel like you should be grateful for... Yet there’s still a sense of not being entirely happy, feeling empty or anxious in some ways, and not feeling enough.

If this is you, and even if it’s not, you are going to love today’s guest, Dr Meg Arroll. Meg is a Chartered psychologist in the UK, scientist and author of Tiny Traumas and in this episode they explore:

  • what is the difference between 'big T' and 'little T' trauma?
  • examples of what a 'Tiny T' trauma can look like
  • the cumulative effects of 'Tiny T' trauma and how they impact health outcomes
  • the Triple A model and how it can help us with emotional eating
