I think we should kick off the hydration with what the salmon of Capistrano is. Drinking over there. Oh, I. Hey, friends. So tonight I'm drunk and numb and number by Fall River Brewing. It is a double hazy IPA. I'm already feeling this baby and it says Best Enjoyed Outdoors, which is one reason I love them because they always say that on their beers and so is our best outdoors. Right? And the camp has that sheepdog van right on the front there from some here. That is awesome cannot it's.
Super and you know what little trivia what is that bird's name in the movie. PD? PD, our pets heads are falling off. So yeah, PD is on the can too. And so I think, Greg, we really. Blind bird to you or somebody in the dead bird. To the. Blanket. To a blanket. Yeah. And there's so many great lines from that movie. It's so classic and so we reviewed Nam Nam Juice and you played the sweet clip from that TMT Yes.
Yeah. So this is Nam a number because it's double hazy IPA and it is a eight, it's 8.2% ABV so I'm feeling it 37 I've used it is a four on untapped very respectable in area. Yeah. So I'm loving that. So Fall River's in Redding, California, so just north of me about an hour or so. So here's the details. Just when you think it couldn't get possibly any number, we go and do something like this and totally redeem ourselves. Now I'm enamored, double hazy.
IPA is bursting with the same tropical juiciness of num num juice, which was delicious, but an even richer vibe that causes beautiful people to flock instinctively. Like the salmon of Capistrano. Even if you've got no food, got no job, your pets, heads are falling off, you've got numb and number. So make like you're in Austria, throw another shrimp on the barbie and crack open another one. Make Lloyd and Harry proud. Oh, look, first. So there. Is that.
And so this haze, you just got your typical hazy look. It's it had a really nice foamy head on it and kind of a maybe pineapple, a little stone fruit. While you sip. I will say that I appreciate all of the the references on the description there. Some. Random in there. Maybe that was great. So when you pour so. Many more, they're not there just makes like Mark yeah yeah. I still want you guys to do that as an opening but hops. Yeah, right. Nailed it. It was quick.
Beer. It's got a bit of a stone fruit taste and some happiness. A sweet finish finishes with a little happiness, but not a big burn for a double the 8.2%. I love it. It's good. I'm happy. Sounds like it totally fits the algorithm. It fits the algorithm. This can is really on fire. I love it. And do you prefer this one or the regular num num? I would probably drink the regular num num a little more frequently because I mean, when I drink a double, it's fast too. So able to have a few more ranks.
But if I'm just going to have one or something, then this is perfect. It's really good. I'm happy that 88.2 is sort of wheelhouse for me. Is it seems. Like beer for flex. Yeah. You are much more seasoned than me. Yeah. Have you guys been watching the the She-Hulk series on Disney+? Yes, I have. I've actually been enjoying it very much so. Well, in there they describe that like when she's hold out, she can drink way more. Like her metabolism is super fast and she can't get hammered.

I went to my first actual concert since COVID. Ale was in. Oh, and I did not get a black eye. I miss it. I mean, that is not. Not the full effect of a concert. You got to get the black guy. In there clearly. Done it wrong. You were not serving enough. Yeah, I was. I, I did not ask for the full flex treatment when I walked into the door. So anyway, we went saw Andrew McMahon. For those who don't know, he was the front man for something corporate back in the day.
And then Jack's mannequin and now just Andrew McMahon on his own. But it was his 40th birthday, so he did sets with something corporate, brought him out that is set with Jack's mannequin crew, which is like half his current crew anyways. And then did like the Andrew McMahon set is actually really awesome show. Yeah, it sounds really good. So I know a lot of the old school emo people know who something corporate is.
So even for those of you who do know he did Constantine and it took like 18 minutes to get through. So that was good times all the guys came out for that one. Everyone's like, who? You know, it's a really it's like his stairway to heaven. It just never ends. I mean, he never does it at concerts because it takes up the time of, like, three songs. He doesn't want to, you know, take a little time anyway. So so that was fun is down in Orange County in Anaheim near Disneyland.
And so on the way back we were like, Well, let's drink our way home. It's like a two hour drive, so why don't we do a little research on what's. Safer than that? Yeah, nothing. So, you know, breweries don't open till noon, but we found a brewery in the area is called Chapman Crafted. I'd heard of it. I'd never been there before. And they in the mornings do coffee, their own craft coffee, and then at noon you can start ordering beer. So we got there about 11, had some delicious coffee.
I seen the picture. I looked really gnarly. It was so good. I have to admit, the coffee was better than the beer. Like the beer wasn't wasn't bad. It wasn't amazing. It was just, you know, it was good beer solid. But the coffee was really, really good. Like, I'd go back for coffee all the time. That was delicious. And then we were in the area and we'd heard of this place called Brew. Home Brew Home Brewing a brew home something. Well, that's. A fun name.
I like that a lot, right? It's a fun name. So we looked it up. We found it. Amazing location. Like the building is super cool. Great place to hang out. Huge spot. Somebody was having, like their one year old's first birthday and they he took a like at the brewery and just brought in, like, tons of homemade Chinese food. I was so jealous, like, hi, can I. Can I join your party and have some Chinese food, please? At one point the somebody asked the grandma, like, where'd you guys get this from?
She's like, I made it like, super. I was like, Fuck, I want. So that is super offended. Yeah, but the beer. I don't enjoy talking shit about breweries, but the beer was no bueno. No, man, no. Like we ordered. We always like the wife and I will get a flight, we'll share it. And then if it's good, you know, we'll move on to either another flight or, you know, a pint of what we liked or whatever.
None of them none of them are like we were choking them down and like the guy was kind of like we walked up and he just kind of us was like, Can we order? He's like, Yeah, like we do flight. Yeah, I guess. I was like, Oh, so. That's what he said. Yeah, it was real. Like she, like he was annoyed by us because we were the first customers he'd had in a while and I guess he had to work. But as we get to our flight, doesn't tell us like what order it's in.
We had to figure it out, which luckily were nerds. So I could like smell my way through the order and figure out which was which. Because you got your sister on untapped. It makes sense. That's right. It was it honestly, it was so bad. It got to the point where it just like, let's fucking pound these and bounce. And we, we just plugged in and and got out of there was I hope I hope we ordered the six worst beers they make. That's all I can say. Yeah that but. And bad service.
So that's like a double like double negative, right. That didn't. Help. Yeah. Then we redeemed versus we totally. Redeemed. And we hit up Radiant Brewing, which we've had them on the show and we've been there a few times. And if you're looking for a hazy which honestly good hazy and so Cal are not always easy to come by man. Radiant fucking knows what they're doing with the haze is it's the former crew over from the brewery.
So, you know, they know what's up there call schism and just everything they had a sour that was so good so we brought back lots of cans. I pulled a flex, bought a hat. It was. Yes. Not subsets. Yeah, it was. Black on black. It's pretty sweet. That is sweet. And then finally, as we got closer to home, we stopped in at Malibu Brewing again and. Oh, I got. Some good. And a couple Berliners. Say gourmet food did yourself to death or what? Honestly, we'd already had lunch and it was unexpected.
So we're like, Well, let's just have some beer. And so we had a couple. They had Berliners and they're Berliners. Berliners are three and a half percent. And, you know, we'd kind of like an old. Traditional that's pretty red. So. Holy. She had a coat. Yeah, I had a couple of those. And then crawler to go and rain.
One of the counters that we talked about last time when we're there was there was hanging out and talking to us and so good time at Malibu as for huge but man I tell you nothing like going to a concert. It's. Oh god it's the best live music just the atmosphere that yeah everybody's there for the same reason because they just fucking love the music. So yeah. It's like the closest thing to a religious experience. All, all enjoy. So when is Aftershock coming up?
Yeah, it's October, I think ninth or whatever. We have four day passes. God, I'm like, wow, I know. I'm just like, oh, we're like, we're working out. We're trying to make sure we're in good shape. Yeah, it's like, I want to be there. Well, not just for that, but it's like, dang, this is a big commitment. Let's, let's do this. Do that up your liver. It makes me grimace back in the eighties. Seriously? We got bean. Bags to go. Yeah. Are you bringing the kids to this?
Oh, hell, no. Oh, no, no. On kids. I was like, oh, I in family to watch the kids for this so. Wow. Yeah. It's a four day Dr. Money. It's right my brother and yes you know Portland's not that far is 150 bucks. All right, people. But worth it for. In the frontier. What do you. Think? It's. Yeah, they got the 12 hour flight from Portland. It's normally 2 hours, but it's. Yeah, it's worth it. And they. Bought their. Ticket, but they have to pay their on baggage fees, which are double their ticket.
Prices. They come in at three in the morning and got a Uber to my house. So I get to actually get to the little jetway. They just stop on the tarmac and I have to walk to the airport. And they're not actually able to land. And Floyd, the rescue slide and that's how they get down. That's a soft. Landing for front you. Sorry, we keep cutting you off. You're flying. No, that's fine. So? So my brother and sister in law are also coming, and. Yeah, so we're all going to go. My brother's like six, six.
He's a big dude. And so it's always fun going with my brother because people either always starts off with big dudes or there's girls that want to like sit on his shoulders because he's so tall. There's always something that goes down. Yeah, when my brother's around. So it's always a good time. Is he. Is he a single gentleman? No, no. He's married to my best friend from high school, so, like. Yeah. Well, that's cool. Well, it was awkward for a while, I'll tell you that.

We're going to have a great time. But I'm with you on the concert thing. It is just it's an experience that can be like also exhausting. So we're like trying to get ready for this. Like. Oh, it's super exhausting. I couldn't imagine four days or something like that. That's crazy. We're going to do it. I'm going to surprise. You with how much dancing and moshing I do. I would be dead. I mean, actually, that. You would have black eyes. Yeah. Like you would. Seriously, you.
Would never get a black guy. I mean. I would have to, like, make up. Well, we they went to one show. We got rained on. It was like the one time in 18 years that's rain in Southern California. And we got a hotel near the venue. I'm like, Oh, we'll walk that way. We can, like get hammered at the concert, not worried about it and so we, we walked in. It was just drizzling. It's like a block. Yeah. And I was like, this is fine.
So we're we're kind of like walking quickly halfway there, it started dumping. So we're we jog our way to the venue and we get there and they have is lined up outside to check IDs. They wouldn't let us in. Was it a 21 and over show? No, but if you want a beer, you had to check your ID outside. So you get a bracelet. They wouldn't do it. Inside is like, what the fuck? So we stood in line and somebody complained and this guy was like, Well, if I got to be out here, you got to be out here.
I was like, Yeah, but you're getting paid to be, right? Yeah, I paid to be here. Right. So and then we get in and they take our ticket and there's this wide open lobby. I was like, You guys could have fucking checked our ideas in here. This is Jane. No, I was so pissed. So we're drenched the entire thing. No common sense. And then that. Yeah. And the beer was shit. Shit. Selection of beer. But figures that's the worst. It is. We, we made up for it the next day though.
So all of our research, in fact, we brought some cans of we had some Malibu brewing cans and a couple of green cans. We brought them down to the little pre-game, a little post-game at the hotel. So at least we had good beer there. So anyways, good times. You're so smart. Always, always prepared. Always want to be on. Yeah, I know. Just walking with the car goes. I could not pat me down there, please. Thank you. I don't want to warm up the beer. My quads are sensitive.
Yeah. My. It's not quite quad. Not quite gin. Somewhere in the middle. Yeah. Right. Sensitive side of my knee is quite sensitive and has a tumor. Please don't touch. Not humor. And I even told told my friend that to mob craft brewing did it. And they did such a great job. Wow. I mean, they have a really brilliant sour program to begin with. And, you know, being that this was a sour, they just really nailed it.
But somebody left their wallet or something at the bar and the bartender takes it and it's like walking around saying this person's name, asking if anybody is this person. And I just look around. I was like, No, I'm flex. And everybody just started busting out laughing, you know, is it kind of in the moment thing? But it just made me laugh because that's what everybody calls me. But I don't know. I don't think anybody actually knows my real name.
Sometimes even local people you hang out with your flex. Yeah, people call me flex or flex. Your kids call you Daddy Flex. Terrified, terrified. Emergency forms. Called out for. Conflicts. Yeah. I don't like the madres matches. There's one player that I really, really dislike by the name of my shadow. My voice just started coming back because I boo the hell out of him on Friday, homie. That's the only player that I will boo and I make sure he hears me and it's very, very loud when I boo machado homie there was a Dodger and he never hustle these Spike other players. It's just a dirty, dirty player anyways. Never buy him this. Talk about some beers.
Dodger Stadium does have a couple craft beers like L.A. Works, Santa monica Brewing Company, and they do have Malibu Beer Company or whatever. They have Noble Brewing Company. Malibu Beer Company. They do have it. I think we had a golden paradise, which is a golden ale. I did order two cans. There are 12 ounce cans. I don't remember the price. I didn't get to drink them because they didn't have them in stock for me. So I think the brand has been pulled out of the stadium.
Craft beer, I think is only Sierra Nevada and L.A. Ale Works and oh, the Santa monica Beer Company. And they also do have brew yard homie. That's the question I have you ever have brew your I have you ever been to brew your. I have. Have you ever been disappointed by them? I have. I don't I don't know how they got the beers at Dodger Stadium. My hat's to them, but their beer is not really that amazing to be there.
There's a brewery, a stone's throw away, and they have a beer called baseball that's dedicated to the Dodgers. And that brewery is called Highland Park Brewery. Why are they not at Dodger Stadium? The why is that beer not there? Why is that brewery not their homey? You know how much fucking beer I would buy if Highland Park was at Dodger Stadium homes? Enough said.
The sad thing is by two they Zappa's and then I started chugging mango cards because there are 90.2 cans and they're a little bit cheaper than 16 ounce cans of IPA by Santa monica. That cost me 18 bucks. So it is what it is. It's a situation of drinking toilet wine, beer. So that's what you got to do. So there you go. Can we get Highland Park Brewery adult stage at the stadium? How how did Brew Yard get into Dodger Stadium?
Why not Highland Park as a me rural me this the other thing is for flex flex these fucking honeybees or fruit flies or whatever you call them, one way to get rid of that is wash your damn cans only the way that you wash your balls after you work out. Rinse out your cans after a drinking session, homie. Get rid of the slash at the at the bottom of your cabinet. You can't get in your glass, rinse it out real quick and pop it in your wherever you recycle, homie, and you will not have that issue.

And as far as the Malibu brewing at Dodger Stadium, I actually talked to Ryan about this. He says they are the cheapest craft beer at Dodger Stadium. And so because of that, it flies off the shelves and they're not able to keep it in stock. So they haven't been they're not out of Dodger Stadium. They're just doing their best to keep up with demand. It's a lager. It's it's delicious. And it's the cheapest one you can buy at the park. So people buy it up just because it's cheap. Wow.
So there's that. Yeah. And yeah, flex washer balls. I guess I'll have to. See. Your cans and your balls. Well, Heineken UK has finally taken full ownership of London's Beavertail guy. We went from balls to beers of one. We are an equal opportunity pass. Greg. You are not wrong. All inclusive, very inclusive has taken full ownership of London's Beavertown Brewery. A couple of years ago, they bought a stake in the brewery, and now they are full owners.
And this, if you guys remember, I think it's been a couple of years, but they had a I think pre-COVID, they had a festival planned out, Beavertown did. And once they got partially bought out by Heineken, everyone dropped out because Heineken is a shitty slave wage company. Oh, really? I did not know that. Yeah. Yeah. Like, they they go to countries where, like, there's no labor laws and brew their beer there and stuff. So jeez, that's it's almost as gross as their beer.
Yeah. So remember that next time you're drinking a beavertown or or a Leonidas, or just a plain, old fashioned, disgusting heinie. Yeah. Yeah. According to Drizly over Labor Day weekend, light lagers and American lagers gained a huge share on their app and seltzers went down. Interesting. Yes. Yay for real beer. Yay for lager. And at that they were so light. Still a lager, right? They went up because it was frickin hot. I mean, it was like a ten degrees on the entire planet.
So it's not like they're saying IPAs or Stouts or whatever. It was like no lagers over Seltzers because. Right. It was hot. It was it was speaking of balls. It was balls out. It was ridiculous. I can't wait to see who enjoys this one. Dunkin Donuts doing their annual release with Harpoon Brewing of their pumpkin beer. And this year they're making it a multipack with coffee roll, hazelnut and cold brew. To. Bring me the pumpkin. Greg. I try to. Bring a pumpkin.
Yeah. I don't hate on pumpkin beers. I, I enjoy me a nice pumpkin beer with some spice. You know, I might enjoy a nice pumpkin beer if I ever found a nice pumpkin maker. That Buffalo Bill's oatmeal stout dark pumpkin. I need to get some. I will get it to you. Is it widely distributed that. Can I find it at a total wine or demo? You probably can. And that's where I found it. That's where I have, like, a total whiner about Moe. And it's an oven, tin cans and aluminum.
You don't like that. And there's probably no chance. That lake or lakefront brewing here does a pumpkin lager. And it is fucking phenomenal. Look, if you guys say it's good, I will look for it. And if I find it, I will have it and give a fair assessment on the show. I will not pretend to dislike it if I actually like. Okay, do you like pump? Do you not like pumpkin at all? Or it's like the beer and pumpkin combo. Beer and pumpkin. I love pumpkin pie. Like the pie. Okay. In solid form.
But I hate when they attempt to make their beer taste like pumpkin pie. Would you drink a pumpkin spice latte? I've had one. It's whatever. Okay? I don't care. I don't like them. I don't hate them as much as, like, a beer. But honestly, just too sweet for me. That was the biggest. Problem that. Dogfish Head is going to close their Miami taproom, citing the increase in rent as the reason it's going to Spenser down there. How many taprooms do they have? Three or four.

Yeah. That humble sea for sure and not had beer bottle brewing. And then flex of course is a fan of the fudge packers. I love PAC and fudge. Yeah so sweet. And listen, let's see if you've been to any of these ones. Touchdown Badger State Brewing. I have not, but I've heard a lot of good things. Okay. And then first down Interline Brewing. We did go to Hinterland last year for my birthday, actually. We went up to Green Bay. We toured the stadium and then for dinner cruise over to Hinterland Nice.
And then because Eric is such a big fan, if you're in Vegas seeing the Raiders touchdown Neon Desert brewing and first down Abel Baker Brewing Company never had either of them. Okay, anybody else?
