The following. He's a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Are you ready for a break? Yes? Are you ready for a break? Absolutely? Ready for a break? Yeah, and so much for that. It's time for The Break on Dallas Cowboys dot Com with Nick Eatman, David Hellman, and bar Garcia and Derek Eagleton. Hello, guys, welcome to another episode of The Break. Derek decided to
be lazy today, but the Cowboys didn't. They started their practice not too long ago, so I just wanted to jump right in into the guys that have been practicing today of one of the main one being Dak Prescott. Whether or not he's been throwing some balls around and what he's been able to do so far. Nope, wasn't throwing on Friday, That's nope. I mean we only see
fifteen minutes of a ninety minute practice, but he wasn't throwing. No. Jason Garrett said that he's going to do exactly what he did last week and just kind of just kind of amp up as the week goes on, hopefully not exactly. That's what he said that he's gonna, you know, that's what worked last week for them. I mean, I hear what you're saying, and you said that last week. Dat Dak kind of touched on that yesterday in the locker room. He said something along the lines of, didn't make the
plays last week. I know I have to. I felt like my mental preparation was there, but you know, physically I didn't do it. But at the same time, you know, you've got to rest it so that it's ready to go on Sunday. And I mean, obviously it did not work last week. But if he's throwing thirty reps per day during the week and wearing his already sore shoulder out, I think he'll look even worse on Sunday. This is the first time he's at to miss practices career, right,
a pro career. Yeah, So I do wonder if some of this may be he's having to learn how to not practice, you know what I mean, you don't have to learn how to get ready without practicing, And maybe that means he can be better this week than he was last week because he learned something and last week about how you prepare when you can't actually take the route.
I mean, Tyron Smith didn't practice again today back injury, you guys feeling with the old line and what it's happening there at the moment, because you take that and then combine it with what Dak is going through. Joe, I mean you're down to your third option at left guard. Sure, and then yeah, your whole left side could be I mean, could be Camp Fleming and Joe Looney on the left side. It really could be. And you know, but you know, Garrett said, when they asked about Tyring, he said, we'll
take it there by day. I can't tell if he's gonna play. But then they also was asked the same question about Dak and he was like, we'll see. It's day by day. So he wouldn't say that he's going to play in the game. He just he wouldn't say anything. Again, well, we'll find out tomorrow if they do anything with the quarterback. They seem like got a ton of tackles. Yeah, well they have Brandon Knight, obviously, they got Cam Fleming. Mitch Hyatt's on the roster, and they signed another guy, right,
didn't they sign him? Yeah, you're right, they signed Wyatt Miller during the day off. By the Miller and Hyatt, I don't know if you want to put them into a game, especially not at tackle, Like if Hyatt was going to play, I almost think it would be a guard first. But yeah, they do have those guys. They do. I think Tyn I think Tyron will play. And Byron Jones is another one. He didn't practice today with an ankle injury. Law to Marcus Lauren, he was out there,
but he wasn't doing a lot. I think those guys will play. Okay, Well, we don't get the whole practice. No, I wasn't saying that fo period, And it's basically that's what it is. I mean, we don't know what's going on stretches, special teams, drills, and a handful of my response my responts is about the fact that just all these guys are just popping up on the injury Like
we know that nobody's healthy. That's a part of the NFL this part of the year, you're not going to be healthy, but it just seems like guys this week are just kind of popping up on the injury report. It just that seems weird. What are you trying to say? I don't know, I'm just asking. It just seems weird. I don't know, it may not seem weird to hear it from a lot of guys popping up this week. Cowboy are cow Tank got hurt in the Eagles game, right and then but the rest and I guess Byron
did too Woods. But that's the rest of these guys, is it. He's hurt his knee three weeks ago? I mean hip hipping ink? Oh okay, you know that's what I get for not reading the report that closely. I mean his name was like it must be the My point is that the report has had about eighteen guys on it for most of the month of December, so I don't know about popping up. I mean Tank is a new one. Yeah, that's fair, all right. Well, how comfortable are you feeling with what you got so far
and going into this weekend? Yeah? I think against I think what the Cowboys have in wise is nothing compared to what the Redskins have. No, And I as also think talent wise, I think the Cowboys are better team than the Redskins. So, and they have something to play for which you'd like to think it would be something that that would help them. So for those three reasons, and being at home, so those four reasons they should
go on. Well, you know how you love next man up and how it always works, so you know it always works for the Cowboys the next man up theory, but the next man up for the Redskins. The where they are is, you know, the Redskins moved Monte Nicholson and Fabian Moreaud at IR today and Bill Callahan confirmed that Landon Collins is out, as is somebody else who's a McLarin. Thank you, Terry McLarin. So that's seventy five best receiver, seventy five percent of their starting secondary and
their best receiver. So yeah, like I dow Washington wants to hear about injuries, just like Philly didn't want to hear about it. You know, Yeah, the Cowboys are the healthier team. Doesn't necessarily mean now they'll do anything with it. They didn't last week. Again, you know, we don't get the big sample size of practice, but we're watching this and I'm I'm sitting here and listening to this. You know, they got rap music going on. It's loudest, I mean,
it's trying to pump up everything. And I see Dak and he's and I'm like, he's not doing anything and I'm like, where's Cooper, Like I just wanted to where's Maria nineteen. I'm looking for him and I'm like, oh, there he is just running like Patent go just down the field forty yard passes and I'm looking. I saw one play and it was deep ball to him. I just want to see if he was in there deep ball. He put out one hand, dropped it. This decided to just do a forty yard one hand and dropped it.
And I was just like, m that's exactly what I remember from the Eagle game, you know, I was that was it. So that's that's what I saw out of a Maria Cooper could have had a great practice after that. He's practicing right now. But for the one play that I saw was a one handed half asked, you know, attempt for a deep ball. Well, the one thing that we do know is that he plays pretty good games
at AT and T Stadium. Rethinking you're you're rethinking your Cowboys in the playoffs stance or no, no, no, I'm in cool. How is our going to the playoffs? Yeah? Okay, that's I guess. Hey, we had this debate off the end and it's locked in. Okay, nobody couldn't come in. No, you're not getting any new there. No, Because I said it the other day up in the office, and I got like three or four people that are like in, you know, um, so it's me, Derek, and lindsay right,
that's the only three people that jumped in on them. Okay, so whoever's right gets lunch on the Other one is that now we're doing this all day, all right, do we want to hit the inactives real quick? Sure? Throw it out there. Luck with that with all those guys injured. I mean, like, yeah, I mean I think that. I mean, I know Dak's gonna play, right, Tyron will probably play. I think by about that. No, I said, I think
I think he'll play. This is tough to do this, it is, but and fans don't care if there's get me forty six guys that could play. Yeah, I mean, I'm glad you. Like literally, when Amber said it, I was about to say, do we care this week? I don't don't. All Right, Devin Smith, the two rookie offensive lineman, I'd say, maybe Devin plays a swing. Maybe they think he's got an option. It's so sad because I was so excited about him at their early in the season.
But this goes back to my point yesterday, like it's hard to like bring your a game when you're not nest, like in a tough season, in a tough week where everybody's down. We should be doing the inactives right now, like meticulous you find shortcuts. Yeah, when it's not We're better than that, right, like work better than that. Way.
It would be better if the head coach didn't sit there and say his starting quarterback his day to day and he might play or he might not play, because if he's like maybe on deck, then the whole thing from down How do you how do you know anything I know overgetting is these guys popping up on the report. We don't know anybody that's gonna play or not. I mean I think Dad, I think Dak, Tyron and Byron and to DeMarcus Lawrence will all suit up and play this game. If I had to guess, there you go.
Those are those are those are most people care about. Those are my actives. I think Woods will play. Yeah, clearly he's a difference maker on times can't be Lately, he can't be times he just has sometimes he is sometimes he's not. It's funny to like we we talked about this a couple of years ago with Sean Lee because he missed a snap and centive and lost money.
And remember that. And I saw Marcus Golden, the Giants defensive end got he earned like an extra two million dollars because the NFL stats corrected a half sack to a sack. A lot of these guys, I'm two and a half millions, don't you say. I don't remember it was a million. I think it was a million. But that's a lot for just the half a sack. He was a free agent that they just said, all right, you know he's played in other teams. They said, we'll sign to this and if you get tense, yeah, will
give you a million. He was at nine. Yeah, they gave him a half secon. My point is not to be cynical, obviously, like you want to win and you want them to get in the playoffs. But there's a lot of reasons why a lot of these guys want to play in this game, because we don't know what's built into their contracts have anything to do with the win. It could be even as simple as like if you play all the snaps in this game, you bump your percentage up enough to earn an extra you know whatever,
one hundred thousand dollars. It's just scary too, because the Cowboys were on the other end of that and they're like, yeah, oh for sure you're out. You're like, oh, maybe you don't want to play Antoine right right? So I don't know. It's an interesting stuf that answers the question that I was going to ask you. Guys, I've been receiving a questions from fans through Twitter, what do you think we will see on Sunday from the Boys, a team that is playing for pride or a Monday vacation. See, I
don't a lot more than a Monday vacation. Not only that, but it's a lot more than just pride. It's a lot more than pride too. Like I, I don't expect them to be well, I didn't expect them to be flat last week and they were. That's I mean, if I knew what to expect, then we would have sounded a lot smarter all this season. Like our collective record picking these games is terrible because we never know how to we never know who's going to show up that's
been the theme for the whole year. So I don't know how I can sit here and confidently say that I know, but I'll tell you like I don't know, the mood in this building this week has not been good. Would y'all agree with that? And I don't know if you know, but I think sometimes I think this. I think the mood we sometimes gage. I'll speak for myself. I sometimes gauge the mood by the people I'm around. That doesn't necessarily mean that's the mood of the team.
And what I mean by that is like our group and a couple other groups that are around us all the time, when you judge the mood of that group, everybody, I think all I think a lot of employees around here are in a real weird mood right now, just because it's like what did we just go through? Like what was this season? We expected so much more? But I don't know if that's the players. I agree, but we got a glimpse at the player's mood yesterday and
they seemed kind of grumpy. Like I'm okay with grumpy though. Zeke Elliott trugged off the media for the first time this and like that, I can ever remember like say what you will about Zeke, he's always super ready to get up and talk. He didn't want to do it yesterday. A couple other guys like saw the cameras coming and kind of just fled out of the locker room. Which they're not like I don't care that they don't want
to do it, Like it's not your obligation. I'm not one of those people that gets all high and mighty like I don't care if you talk to us or not. But after that game, heading into this week, like this is the week that they're like, nascrew you guys. I don't know. I think it might be kind of telling. Here's the thing. You're right about that with Zeke, and that was different. But but he does have this and this is, you know, kind of what he had said
is he talks on Wednesdays. Every Wednesday, he's the first one there. He trucks on Wednesday game. They decided that pr decided with the help from the media, that they didn't want to go on Wednesday. On Christmas Day, we weren't going to do it. So they didn't do it. And by the way, so right, so now it's Thursday and he's like, no, I don't talk on Wednesday. If you want to show, you know, I'll talk on Wednesday. So that that's kind of where that was coming from.
This guy was going through two years ago, all that legal stuff and all, you know, as he's suspended as he not, and he would talk every game through there, so he's typically been good. I don't want to kill him for that, But no, I don't want to. I don't, but you're right, I don't mean to throw him under the bus. I mean the rule of technically, yeah, like they kind of they space it out because it's convenient
for reporters. One guy talks Wednesday, one Thursday, one Friday, but the rule just says you have to talk to the media once a week. Yeah, there's no like, there's no rule that's like, well you're the Wednesday guy and if so, yeah, by the way, he's actually done that on Sunday, so absolutely, which so I'm not trying to kill him. I just thought it was interesting that after such a disappointing loss, that was as grumpy and as
non communicative as I've seen the locker room. Just I'll say this, even if the if the move is, if the mood is a grumpy mood. I'm good with that because sometimes, especially again and game of football, you kind of want some emotion. And I'm okay if they're kind of like a little a little mad, like they should be there. But I'm saying if if what Dave is reading is them being grumpy, then I'm okay with that. What I would be worried about if is if you sense that there was kind of who cares lack of
days ago kind of attitude. That's where I would be more concerned than a grumpy attitude. Grumpy's fine with me. At this point. You should be mad because I know there are a lot of fans out they're listening right now that are livid. So they want the team to be mad right now right Well, I don't. I don't think they're Well, I don't know, but remember last week what I said prior to the game starting. I said, oh, I saw a few players and they just look depressed.
They just look sad, like like they're not about to go play football in like an hour. Well, but you said somebody's faith the defense. You said, a couple of players on the defense side. I saw them prior to the game when we were getting on the buses and doing all that, and the mood and the vibe I got, I'm it wasn't normal because usually those guys, even when they're just off to themselves listening to music, they're still kind of life, you know, they're they're living. Yeah, But
last week it was just like sad and depressed. And that's even different than mad, right, Sad is just kind of like you're almost resigned to your fate, you know, it's a little different. Mad is almost resolute, like I'm I'm mad, I'm going to do something about If that's again, if that's their attitude, if that's the mood, which I haven't been able to I haven't been in locker rooms. I don't know if that's the mood. But if that
is the mood, that's actually somewhat encouraging to me. If they if they're upset and if they're grumpy, I'll say this, I don't know how you can trust that they're going like maybe they will. I don't know how you can trust that they're going to come out on fire because they've been bad at that all year and now this is the first time that they have lost control of
their destiny all year. Long, like they couldn't really get up for games on a consistent basis when it was right there in front of them, and now that it's been taken away. But wouldn't that be so much like this they come out and just slot of course the Redskins only to see the only see the Eagles win. It would also be right on brand for them if they were down ten halfway through the second and you're like, well, now we're up against it and we gotta we're in
deep crap if we don't do something. I mean that tells you, like the delta between the good and the bad Cowboys this year, like they're all it's all over the map. You can't really get a good feel for it because it does change. Member Jason Garrett's first year, his full year with the team, what was their record? Eight name? Okay, what was the second year with eight? Name? What was this? So? What was his last year with the team. Let's go ahead and take your break when

Yesterday we talked quite a lot about Dak Prescott and his future here with the Cowboys, his contract,
what he should, what he deserves or not deserves. So here's a question kind of going into that that I thought was kind of interesting. If Dak was a quarterback for any other team, what would our opinion be of him if he were playing like against the Cowboys? What would keep our defensive coordinators up worried? Like, would would Dak be a guy that you we come in here and be like, Okay, guys, we are facing Dak this week.
How should this Cowboys defense prepare to go up against him? Honestly, don't think anybody in this group would be would be saying, oh my god, this is gonna be a really tough challenge and rank. That's a really weird question to ask because when you really get presented that way, all I could think of is that you're going to play Jameis Winston, right,
And that's the problem. I don't agree with that. But no, the reason why I say that is because I would look at if we were playing the Buccaneers, the Cowboys playing Buccaneers. The way I would say that is, Hey, Jamis Swinston is a guy that can absolutely throw the ball around the yard. He can also give you some interceptions, and so all the stuff that he does, it's really great. It hasn't ended up ending up in wins by and large. I mean, know what, they're seven and eight, I think.
So the point is like, yeah, he's got some really great skills. For whatever reason, it hasn't turned into something that can get them over the hump. So I don't look at him as a guy like say a Russell Wilson, you know those better quarterbacks of what when you talk about them, you're like, he's going to be a problem. I don't look at it the same way, and I think Dak falls in that category. And by the way, I think part of the reason why Dak falls into
that category is not his own doing. I don't think that they utilize his skills and really utilize all of his skills enough to make him the threat that he would be otherwise, like they we talk about it all the time, if they would have more opportunities, they would create more opportunities in the game to use his legs. They would turn him into a multidimensional quarterback, and that's
what he was earlier in his career. I don't think it's a I don't think it's a I don't think it's a coincidence that he doesn't have those come from behind wins this season and they're not running the ball. He's not running the ball regularly, because you can look back over his career, when they have to have some of those, they usually have a big run at some point in that drive when they're trying to win a game,
he usually has a big run somewhere in there. And that's not something we're saying a lot of this season. I think if I had to come up with an analogy for Dak, a really good one and I promise I'm not just saying this because it's convenient, but probably Cam Newton. And that's and Dak is nowhere near the freakish athlete that Cam is. He's not running for a thousand yards even if you did utilize his legs. But he is a very good quarterback who is close to unstoppable.
When his offense is humming and they are in the rhythm of what they want to do, they can run the ball. The run games working. The quarterback run is working, and they're scheming things that allow him to make I don't want to call him easy, but like the the easy throws or the throws that the defense gives you.
But when you put the game on him and nothing else is working, and it's like we're gonna we're gonna put you in a well and you're just gonna have to beat us all on your own with nothing else working, I don't think Cam's very good at that. And I'm Dack to this point in his career is not very good at that. You know, a difference between what the Panthers were doing with that with Cam is that they
would actually utilize him as a running back. Absolutely, But and that's probably why he's beat to hell, you know, and that's a that's a part of it. Here Is that a good idea because now they're having to play with guys that aren't you know, I think you have but you look at Russell. Russell is a guy that that will run him like that. No, no, exactly, but they run him and when he runs, when he runs, he is so smart. How many times do you see
him get hit? Very rarely if he's running, Yeah, he's gonna either slide or he's gonna get out of bounds, but he does it on occasioned us for him, they do, Yeah, he does read option. But I just think it's it's a much more had a way of playing quarterback as a as a passer who can run, which is what I think Dack is. I don't think Dack's a great runner. I think Dak is a passer who can run, and I don't think they utilize his ability to run enough.
You undred percent, you have to find the balance. You can't have him taking twenty five hits a game, but he's too valuable and that adds too much of a dimension for him to not be capable of running for even even twenty yards a game is so valuable. I mean, that's two first downs that could be a touchdown, etc. Especially in the red zone. Are you kidding me? Yep? The red zone is twenty yards. So I agree with that. I wouldn't want him going full Cam in his prime.
That's a terrible idea. But what I was going to say after that is Cam Newton has played some really shaky football in his career. He's also played well enough to win fifteen games and go to a Super Bowl, winning MVP in the process. I think Dak's capable of that, even he might not ever blossom into you know, a Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers who can just do stuff when nothing else is working. But you can get to a super Bowl with a quarterback playing that way. But
I first did it. But I think the scattering report that we would all have if the if you were playing the Cowboys would be stop Ezekiel Elliott and everything else will fall apart. That's been them is it's very rare that Zeke is not having a great game or they're not able to run the ball and the Cowboys still come out on top. Yeah, that's the scattering report. So when you look at that, then you're not thinking of Dak as the guy you really got to worry about.
You're thinking it's Zeke stop Zeke. Everything else falls apart, and it's I mean, we've seen Dak. I mean the Vikings game is a perfect example, Like we've seen him be able to Obviously they didn't win, Like he's done that to a point. He threw for four hundred yards. He might still made some of the best throws of his career. But I, like I said, it's I think it's more complicated than just like, well, if the run's
not working, Dak can't do anything. But like again, if the offense isn't in rhythm, which they need the run to be working for it to be in rhythm, he has improven on a consistent basis that he can six seed when it's not the case. Okay, I thought that was an interesting question. We never really look at it that way, you know, we look at it from our
own perspective. Now here's another question. We a lot of people are still trying to figure out the role of Kellen Moore and whether he's done a good job this year or not. And that and we know he's at the start of his career, but there's a lot of confusion there as to easy really calling all the plays or how much input is there from Jason Garrett during a game. So I just wanted to get your opinion on this topic and what you currently think of Kellen
Moore as a coach. Jason Garrett was asked that question in his press conference and his walk off, and he said that Kellen has done an excellent job this year. I don't I don't agree with that. I don't know how anybody can can say that he's done an excellent job. I mean, excellent would would not get you seven wins.
There's I mean, there has been some really bad play calls. Um. I think he said that because there was some talk he had he had kind of sounded like he threw him under the bus earlier this week when he said that was Kellen that makes that decision or whatever. But UM, I think he's been I think he's been a um good for a guy that's done it his first year. But I don't think it's been good enough. Certainly had been excellent. Can I change the question a little bit?
Who's better Lenahan last year or more this year? Kellen? I think I mean I think it's Is it that simple though, because yeah, the way you said it was just like, it's not. I mean, the offense has been good and obviously, I mean they won seven games. I get that it hasn't been excellent, but what was the offense not good? Last year? The offense was atrocious last I don't think. I don't think it has it. What was I don't even know. Yeah, I care about rankings
anymore because yeah, it was bad last year. It wasn't. I mean when when they got a Marii cooper in to the offense, they improved like three spots. They improved from twenty points a game to twenty two. They weren't awesome last year. Mari had some great games, Like, they were not incredible by any stretch of the imagination. They were better last year than this year. I think completely disagree. Especially if you're gonna say post If you're gonna say
posta Mari, well, I think their offensive about know. I'm saying if you're if you're not going because if you want to, if you want to combine the whole year and say pre end posts, then maybe you have an argument. I think posta Mari. I think the offense did what they needed to do, and I thought they were I mean, they weren't good enough, but neither is this offense. And yes, this offense has put up more yards but and in
some respects more points. But I still don't think that in crunch times and in games where they needed the offense, the offense this year has been non existed in some games, and and I just I don't I don't know if I could eas I don't know if I could as confidently say as you said that more is clearly better calling plays than what we saw from Lenahan last year. I think it's been better, and I think a better effort from the Cowboys defense would have this team comfortably
in the playoffs by now. And that's even with eggs against New Orleans, New England and Philly. I mean, the offense has handled its share of the load better than the defense. I think this is one have you seen from the offense that has been better? Because again, when I look at it or tried to compare, I don't see any drastic change between what Lenahan did and what
Killen Moore is currently doing. I mean, their efficiency is better, Like they move the ball again, it's coming we're coming off of this terrible game against Philadelphia, but by and large, they've moved the ball better and more consistently than they did last year, and they've scored more points. I think the Cowboys are the middle school team that gets to
practice against elementary school and they just thrash them. But then they turn around on the next day and have to practice against the varsity in the high schools and they get beat like they are Classic eight and eighteen because they will beat up on teams that aren't very good, but when they go up against team that are better, like the better defenses. I mean, they have been terrible against good defenses this year. Aside from the Rams. They
turned it on there. That's it. That's all you've got. Kellen Moore did a good job there, but Atlanahan had a couple of games like that too. They just haven't been good against good teams. They've been good against bad teams. And not only good, they've been great. Like some of the numbers they put up early in the season against those bad teams is what has them so far, Like it's what's pushed their numbers up so much to where
they're leading the league in yards. But if you if you look at that and you look at again, if you look at it and balance what they did against the bad teams, I don't know if the argument can clearly be made that their offense is better this year than it was last year. I think this is selective.
I mean, I think they played pretty damn good games against Green Bay in Minnesota, didn't win them, But the offense moved the ball in those games because they had to move the ball because they were down the whole game. I mean, so that they don't have to move the ball just because you're down. I mean, yeah, but defense has changed how they play you. When they got you by a couple of touchdowns, they got you by a
sizeable amount later in the game. Bear, They're just gonna keep everything fun up so you can get yards on them. You know, I will go, I will go to my grave, Baffle Thatt. How Like that Packers game was just so frustrating because they were ripping through those guys like nobody's business, and they just couldn't stop turning the ball over, Which
I mean, that's not Kellen Moore's fault. That's that that's might go to thing when you talk about like execution verse coaching is like, what's Jason Garrett and Kellen Moore supposed to do about that ball bouncing through Marie's hands and legitimately, like how much different is that game if it doesn't happen. Yeah, just little stuff like that's fair,
all right. I just really they haven't been like they're the number one offense in the league, and I know that's hollow, Like I mean, some of those stats are totally hollow, but I just really don't think the offense has been this team's problem, even if I mean, even if you throw the New Orleans game up there or the New England game up there, I just think it's been way more about the defense. I do agree with you,
it's been more about the defense. I just still think if you compare last year's offensive this year's offense, I think they've been pretty comparable. I don't know that. I think they've been appreciable, be better this year. We need to take our final break when we come back. Let's talk a little bit more about this cowboy's defense and what is going on there? Ready? Okayim? Yes? Oh what does that fell? So? Are we gonna win? Share? Just?

game day prediction. We have enough time to discuss us, so let's just jump right into that. Before we answered this last couple of questions that I got from some fans. So what do we think is going to happen this weekend? Two important games going on in the NFC East. Tan Tan tang Nick started off, I think the Cowboys will win the game. I think it'll be kind of tough
because Washington is gonna make it tough on them. But I do think the Cowboys have enough going for them this week with those things I mentioned earlier to win this game. I mean, they're eleven point favorites in the game. That seems a little high, um, But I mean we understand why they're doing that. But I think the Cowboys will win the game. Um. And I think the Giants are going to beat the Eagles. I do. I mean, I just yes. The Eagles have won three in a row.
Have they played well? No, Look at the last two games the Eagles have played on the road. They went to the Dolphins, they lost. They went to the Redskins, they they had, they won. They scored in the final minute of the game to win that game, and you know, and keep their season alive. So I don't think they're playing that great. They barely beat the Giants. Daniel Jones is now playing in that game they're playing, the Giants are playing the Giants. I think will will win the game.
And I think that the Cowboys are going to get into the playoffs. So that's one I think it's gonna happen there. You're making all kinds of facial expressions. Clearly you don't think. No, I'm think I think. I think the Cowboys win. I think the Cowboys win a close game. I think it's gonna be seventeen sixteen. I think it's gonna be a game that you know, as you watch it, you're just gonna be like, you know, there will be some frustrating moments. But I think it's the seventeen sixteen
game Cowboys win. I also think the Eagles win. I just I was telling Nick, I was saying this in the one of the breaks like it that would just require a certain amount of luck for the Eagles to lose that game and the Cowboys win and getting the playoffs that way, And luck has not been on the Cowboys side this year. I just don't expect that to happen.
But even beyond that, if you just look at it from a football standpoint, even though the Eagle Eagles have not played great football down the stretch, they've been winning and they've been figuring out a way to win in close games and games where they're behind, they figure out a way to win. And I just think that this team, the Eagles I'm talking about, I think they have a little bit. They have a little bit of a little bit more of that. We just figure it out when
we need to figure it out. That's why I'm picking them to lose, because that doesn't that's not who they are, that's not what they're team. I mean, that's not what their team has been. So when you keep playing that way, you keep you keep lighting a match, you're gonna get hit in the face. But we've seen this movie before.
It happened when they went to a Super Bowl and I kept I'm sure a lot of people out there listening kept doing the same thing, like, well, eventually the Eagles are gonna fall out the face because that's who they are. Nick I said they would that year. Yeah, three team, But I'm saying, no, nobody expected them to two what they were going to do. And I think it's the same thing here. I think they have a belief that if we put our minds to it, we
can do it. And it's actually worked out for them just a few years ago and just a couple of years ago. And I just think that that's the kind of team that that I would if I were facing the Eagles this week, I'd be a little bit afraid because I think that they are. They're one of those kinds of teams. Daniel Jones is better than lying right now. Yeah, I think he's better for that offabe, but a little bit. Maybe that's all they needed, was just a little bit
to beat this team on the road. Sometimes teams played to the competition, right, I mean yeah, I mean Cowboys, that's my point. They're gonna play to the giants competition the Giants, and that means they'll be a little bit better. They'll still be a little bit let it better, that's all right, Cowboys. Cowboys beat the Eagles by thirty and then couldn't score a touchdown on them in the same season, So I don't buy that. Um, the Cowboys will beat the Redskins. I mean, they made me look really dumb
last week because they would. Yeah, I mean, you're right, I said they You know, they play well against the NFC East, and the Eagles are banged up. They supplies to the Redskins as well, their division team. They're extremely banged up the Cowboy. The Cowboys are at home. They should just be able to find a way to win. It probably won't be pretty, because that nothing they've done has been pretty since well the Rams was but that's one out of five games. I believe you said yesterday
twenty to sixteen. You know they'll it'll be it'll be gross, but they'll find a way to win. Um, the Eagles live and breathe this. This is the third year in a row where they've had to really batten down the hatches to make it happen in this time of year. Even even the year they went thirteen and three, they lost their quarterback with a month to play and had to grit through it. They needed a miracle last year. And I mean, this is a team that knows how
to win the Super Bowl. Like there are guys on that roster that have been through that, and I think you know they it won't be pretty for them either. They're not going to blow the Giants out, but I think they've got the grit in the experience to batten down the hatches and win that game. And so I think the Cowboys win, but I don't think they'll make the playoffs. I'm with you, guys, not Nick. I think nothing. I always do find the way to win this game
against the Redskins. But it's just gonna come down to like, oh that wasn't enough they won it, but oh well, look out the other games that they lost and shoot have won, which at this point can't do anything about it now. But it's just I don't see it happening. I think that the Eagles are going to find the way to beat the Giants despite of their quarterback, and that's gonna be the end for the Cowboys this year.
I do get I get Nick's point that, like, it's not a foregtten conclusion that the Eagles win that game. It's not, and it'll be close because the Giants have played good football over the last month relative to what they and by the way the Eagles are the Eagles like they have they're not a good team. I just think they're a resolute team and they've been figuring out how to win. I would argue the Eagles are a
mediocre team because they've been so hurt. I like, I don't think I mean, if they were one hundred percent healthy, I don't think they would have the middling record that they They're not getting healthier at this No, no, no, I'm just saying, like I think there's a difference between the Eagles eight and seven and the Cowboys seven and eight. Like the Cowboys have just been a disappointing team. As healthy as they've been, they should have been better. Ye
I don't know how you can't. You're sitting there, well, you know these basic How can you be so confident about I'm not this scenario, confident about anything about. I just feel like you're when you're an average team, you you that's where you you end up. And I think the Eagles are very average. Yes, they might be talented. I mean they might be at that point for different reasons than the Cowboys, but I I still think that they're there. And I watched them play against the Giants
and they were fortunate to win that game. I watched some of that Redskin game. We were, you know, trying to work, but I saw a little how that game was going, and they were fortunate to win that game. And then the Cowboy game, you know, they did a good job. They played better. Dallas didn't help, I mean, themselves. So I just feel like, here they are against the Giants, four o'clock start up there, Daniel Jones, sae Quon Barkley, the way they're moving the football, Golden Tates certainly would
like to win that game. You know, against the Eagles. I just think that they're gonna have enough to play for him. And I think the way the Eagles are playing that their luck's gonna run out. And I will say this one thing that does I think factor in and may help that a little bit, is zach Ertz
having that that ri of injury. Like it's one thing to finish a game when your adrenaline's already up and they shoot you up and you're able to kind of manage to But if you notice there was a play third, third or fourth quarter where he got hit out of bound, like coming going out of bounds, it took him a good while to get back on his feet like he was.
It was not in rib injuries that every time you breathe, So he's been going through an entire week of every time he breathes, he realizes he has a rib injury, and that just has a way of weighing on you mentally. I think that you take him out of this game if he's not able to be as effective as you want him to be, Like you could lose a lot
of receivers on that team. Everybody knows zach Ertz is the best receiving threat that they have on that team, you take him out of the mix from not being zach Ertz, that could affect you, and that could affect you significantly. And so I think from that standpoint, that is an area where just looking at the xs and os that might actually being be something that helps the Giants be able get to win. What would be more fun?
I mean, and I mean it won't be fun for anybody involved if you're a fan of any of the teams, But like, would it be more fun if the Cowboys are just handling the Redskins, like I mean, they're just cruising and like everybody's watching to see what happens in this Giant's Eagles games? Or would it be more fun
if both games come down to the wire. That would be wild if, like, you know, that would be fun Cowboys are driving to beat the Redskins and the Eagles are trying to hold off the Giants, and you're like a couple of plays here or there. I really wouldn't because honestly, at this point, I can't take I'm actually rooting for fun at this point because I don't know,
you know, NFL red Zone would go bonker. Yeah, but that's kind of what you want to see is you want to see just the fun weekend of football, because guess what, this is the last regular season week for the seasons. True, gott, I just want to see some fun. It's the same thing with college. You just want to see some fun. I don't care if LSU loses. They just give me a fun game. Well, thank you for that. You're not rooting for Oklahoma. I know you're not. No,
you know I'm not rooting volks. But if you get to the championship, you know I'm not rooting for LSU as a championship. That's right, you know. Good luck to you this weekend. They hate us because they ain't us. Okay, what did you say? You know what I said. It's fine, ain't us. Ain't us. Get that tea in there. I don't like that colored purple. Okay, I like purple. Yeah, I ain't. Can't go. They look good together the show than the ditch. All right, that is all the time
we have for today. Thank you guys so much for tuning in. We will find out this weekend what happens with the Cowboys, whether or not don't make it into the playoffs, and then we can I don't know, keep this keeping, keep it rolling, or keep it rolling with trying to figure out who the next coaching still I don't know who show. That's a whole other showy hanging with the boys coming up next. So stay put and listen up to them for nickin Man, Derek Eagleton, David Hellman,
