The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Are you ready for a break for yours? Are you ready for a break? Absolutely ready for a break? Yeah, and so much for that. It's time for the break on Dallas Cowboys dot Com with Nick Eatman, David Hellman, and bar Garcia and Derek Eagleton. Hello, guys, Happy Friday. We are back with another show, the last show before we get to see what truly happens this

weekend against the Detroit Lions. Davis for in the Lions colors today. Pretty ugly now, I'm just kidding. Why it's Friday. I'm talking about because it's the Lions all over Friday. Okay, yeah, you guys are looking pretty comfy today. Yeah, ok right, Well, let's start off with the guys that we're in the injury report as far as yesterday and today. One of the latest things that might turn into something a bigger deal or maybe not, we'll see, but wide receiver Terrence

Williams was not at practice today. What could this possibly mean? Goofy stuff just continues to happen with this. It could mean that he's not gonna play this week and not give the team, you know, point six sketches a game or something like that that he's that he's providing him. Um, you know, we all know that there's there's been reports out there that the league I guess could come down with some kind of ruling on a possible suspension based

off of what happened back in the summer. Um nothing has been told of that right now, but he's not a practice today and it could be mean anything. And they and then the team officials weren't very um I guess forthright and what was going on. They didn't know or didn't say, just didn't say anything, didn't say was hurt, Oh he's banged up or he's because believe me, they would if they were if it was something not to

go down that road. So it maybe maybe they Usually when they don't say anything, that's when you know something. So he was not there. He could be an active this week, or it could be Bryce Butler. So if we're going to play the inactive game, I would think it'd be Terrence or him for whatever the reason. If something comes down though, then he guess wouldn't even be

on the roster. So that's that. But I mean that's not something that affects the team because he hasn't been affecting the team really since And you guys went to practice, were Cole Beasley and Antoine would still limited or um? Colt Beasley was out there. The guys that just weren't there Shaun Lee and Travis Frederick. So Beasley was out there. Molik was there. He had a really big wrapper on

his left knee, but he was doing some things. I would imagine he's going to be limited and questionable today. I would think so at the best. At the best, yeah, they could rule him out, you know, because Gregory did some things a couple week ago and then they still ruled him out. Right. Antwine Woods was out there doing stuff, so we'll see. Um, everybody was kind of doing something, um, other than Frederick and Lee. So okay, So let's go

over the inactives. Travis Frederick, Shan Lee. There you go. Um, are we keeping Malik inactive or based on what you saw today, decided to give you. I think Malik or kron Red. Don't you think that's gonna say one of the two, One of the two. They do it. They did get a little bit a defensive tackle, so there you go, there's Mike White, Dalton Schultz five, and then Bryce or say Terence. You think that's going to continue to be the let's go back to the tight end.

You think it's going to continue to be the case. I do Dalton short looking at looking at what they were doing in offense today, just just a one little drill. But so far that drill that I've been seeing on Friday of the tight end has been indicative of who's active and who isn't. Okay, so it stayed again today. Um, I think there. I think if let's just say Terrence, was something happened, if he was suspended, I don't think you sign anybody. I think you go with fifty two.

Well wait, wait, is that a rule that you have to It's only a rule that on Monday it's you don't have to have fifty two to play a game. Yeah, I'm sorry, fifty three. There's a rule about like, there's some kind of rule about that, like on Monday, But I don't know if it would be game day and that'd be the league's fault come in here and do it on a Friday. Anyways, that that happened, that's mainly just about like paying a player though, you know what

I mean, Like there's but I'm drawn a blank. They did it last year where they were like, well, we need to have a full roster otherwise Showers. It seems like something with Jamie Showers was involved there. But all I'm saying is is that let's say that that happened. You don't have to bring up Lance Lenore just to make him inactive and pay him that kind of money for it. I wouldn't think. So I still think that receiver will be that spot. Yes, receiver Terrence or Bryce.

That's about yes. That's all he leaves was six and then um Xavier Suaphilo. I would bet oh, yeah, so you piece of cake? Easy, piece of cake? Easy? We add him? I would guess that you easy because because of Lee. Yeah, that's good. We'll get to see him a little bit. Okay, So who should we expect to see more out of this weekend? And there's a lot of options out there, maybe a brise Jordan Lewis we talked about him the other day, Layton taking over now

or having more playing time? Derek? Who I want to see more from? Who are you expecting to see more out of this weekend, I'll start if you want me to, well, I'm gonna change the question a little bit because I don't know who to expect it from after what I saw last week. I don't really know what to expect from this team right now, and that's not being I don't want to be seemed like that's being that's being overstated. I honestly don't know what I'm going to get from

week to week right now with this team. But what I hope to see is I hope to see Xavier Woods play a really good game because I think he's going to be tested this week. This will be the best, in my opinion, the best passing offense that they will have faced this season. I think it's a really good passing offense, and I know they stretch the field, They're gonna go down field, They're gonna be some opportunities for the safeties to make some plays, and so I want

to see if he can man that. I want to see if he can be that center fielder and be able to make some plays going up and getting against an offense that tries to really challenge you by stretching the field and has a lot of different receivers. That can get open in different situations. I want to see if he can really make himself and a real advantage for the Cowboys, because that's gonna tell us a lot

about you know. Now we're going to start getting to see if he is the guy that because it might this might be the last chance you get to see for a while whether he's going to really be a great safety or at least is he on the way to being a good safety for this team. Because there are on a lot of teams you're gonna face in the next couple of weeks to have great passing games. This is definitely one of them. That's a good one.

Joe Thomas, It's gonna still be my guy. This team still hasn't played a game, you know, without Shaun Lee. Um and and has and had a lot of success the last three years. Um this team is won and eight when Shaun Lee doesn't play in the game. So, um, that's my that's my guy. And and I firmly believe that that that's what they did in training camp because you can't you can't really protect a guy from injury.

I mean you can, I guess, I mean, but but that doesn't mean when he comes back that he's not going to get hurt just like that, which he did. What they were doing was preparing for when he got hurt, and it's now the time is here. It's an interesting take on that. I just I think I'm kind of kind of it was and it's but I'm just saying I wasn't. I wouldn't really think that way. But but but in you know, in reality, that's kind of what they were doing. They're like, you know what and what

happens if he does go down? We need to see if these guys are ready to play. Can we got a bunch without the guys too? We want to see if they have the get the reds to be able to play. Joe Thomas isn't the main guy that needs to step up. It's obvious and I don't want to steal if if one of your guys as a linebacker, but I mean he's he's a guy that needs to elevate. But clearly fifty five and fifty four are the two that we're looking at. Yeah, those guys need to play.

Does this have to be defense? It could be anyone. I just I think, um, and I mean take a pick on the offense. Obviously, but Lyle Collins is just something that I'm thinking about because he's off to a slow start. There's no way around that. But I know the Lions are second in the league in sacks or no. Fourth, but they've got ten in three games, which is good. But like Ziggianza, seems doubtful and even if he plays, he'll probably not be one hundred percent. He needs to

have a better game. They both do. Tyrannt end Lyle need to have a better game. And there's not that fearsome edge rusher like they had last week that you see so many weeks in the NFL. I think it's gonna be a lot of linebacker blitzes. But I'd like to see the tackles play a better game than they have because both of them have been off to start the season. I wanted to talk about it Answa real quick. I forgot about it and I had it on my list. Um, he did not practice again, showed up on the report.

Why are you laughing, I'm just messing with you, dang, Brian can trust his words for those Hey, Amber ever put together this great piece on answer, not really knowing that he wasn't gonna play he's gonna plays. He's going to play. Trust me, Trust me, kid, I know a thing. Hey, it's early, it's Friday. Like he's a pro bowler. Count him out if he gets out there today. That the whole thing flips. What do you two always say? It's the cow It's the Cowboys way to play this whole season.

The Cowboys have been getting breaks this season, though it seems like like, uh, you know, Thomas Davis was out in Week one and their line was a mess, and the Seahawks line was a mess earlier. Is really benefiting this No not, it is not benefiting them at all. But they missed Vernon in Week two, like they've got benefited from that. Yeah, they have gotten some breaks, no doubt about it. But I didn't see any issues that the Lion that the Seattle's offensive line was like horrible. No,

I mean they gave up three. I mean this this defense is good. I mean the Cowboys have a good defense. I mean something. I was wondering about this um and you guys may have seen a little closer um. It seemed to me, and this is not just the last game. It seemed to me this was the same case in the first game, and even in some degree in the Giants game, when they got pressure typically was when they

were sending any extra guys. When it was just four rushing, it didn't seem like they were getting a lot of pressure. Did you guys notice that or have you noticed that any of the three games? Well? I didn't think Gregory played that well in the game obviously no Week three. Yeah, I mean obviously had the bad penalty, but even before that he was he was getting blocked pretty good one on one, So I was expecting a little more pressure

out of him there. Um, yeah, you're right that the linebackers, when it was Sean Lee coming off the edge or Jalen Smith or those guys, that's that's where they need. And it's not a good sign. Even on some of the sacks where the front the defense, the four defensive linemen, we get the sacks. It was on the plays where

we have an extra guy coming. You set next to me in the game, and you know, I was upset a couple of times about a certain play, which time we're talking about here upset upset, but this moment when you were not happy. It's like if you have the best pass rusher on the team, and he's one of the best in the league at rushing the passer. Then let him do what his job and you figure out

the other things. And I thought, putting DeMarcus Lawrence inside and put Taco on the outside, you're watering down what what this guy does the best. This whole mindset. We get our best pass rushers on the field. That's cool, But get the best guy doing what he's awesome at. But because the touchdown that they gave it, he doesn't do anything. He gets it. I look at that and I say the best pass Well, I shouldn't say the

best pass. A lot of the really good pass rushers in the league today, they move around, they can play a lot of different positions on the line, and so you really are looking for the best matchup for that player. So, for example, in that instance, if they thought, hey, we think that putting DeMarcus against a guard is a better matchup than putting DeMarcus against it an end. So we'll put Taco on the end. I mean, then a tackle,

we'll put Taco on the end. We'll let him have this advantage in on this one particular play where he's going up against the guard, and we think it's a better situation that was the result of that play. I get it. I'm just saying that I don't think it's just I don't think you can just assume and that DeMarcus can't play, and I don't really I agree with you, though.

I don't agree with you that these great pass rushers going and yes they can move around, but I bet they don't do their damage up there in the front. I saw it happened last night with Sue. Sue got a sack when he was playing defensive end. He's a better defensive tackle, right, but they put him at defensive end on a play he went around the guy he got a sack. I mean, I don't think it's I think in today's NFL there are a lot of really

good pass rushers that were around to see. I need to see de Mark Florence get a sack from the inside. I need to see that. Or I just don't think it's it's it's what they need to be doing with him. Yeah, I mean, but that's that's my thing. I mean, can Tacko not play that? Can these other guys not not mix? Don't mess mess around with the best thing you've got. That's my my thought, we'll see if he can get

there and beat the guard and center inside. And you know, I know JPP kind of did that a little bit with the Johnson. I never thought he was really that good doing it from the inside. We had to account for him, but we'll stonewall him if we should have known that this was going to happen. I mean during training camp, he was moving up and down the line, and I think that was an indication that they had at least some he did against everybody except for except

for Zack. Yeah, and that's nobody's gonna be zac. Many astrid were like I dismiss everything that happened with Travis Frederick during training campus year. Antoine Woods might have a job because of that. I know, yeah now, and that might be a flawed rush now that we figure out by the end of the season. Who knows. I have a small quibble just because and they did Blitzeli a lot, but I thought the front four got good pressure in

that game when there wasn't an extra got come. DeMarcus Lawrence was like single handedly wrecking double teams that whole game. Like he just was swatting tight ends and tackles out of the way, Yeah, I think so. And the thing with the Seahawks is, I mean their line definitely played better, but like again, it's all about the release time. Like

Russell Wilson just wasn't holding the ball. I don't think there's a pass rush in the league that can get to you when you're throwing it in two seconds or less. So and that's I think Stafford's gonna be similar. So this is gonna be another challenge which regardless of what's working, even if the front four was working, you're probably gonna need to send extra guys to get the job done here. And the best thing about this week is we really

get to now see what these cornerbacks are like. And I talked about Xavier Woods, but even more important, we get to see these cornerbacks now. Because so far we've loved we saw during training camp, they haven't really been tested yet this regular season. They're gonna get tested this weekend.

We're gonna find out a lot about these cornerbacks. Yeah, and I'm really, really, really a little bit worried about what's going to happen in the slot, just because I don't I think Anthony Brown obviously is the weakest of those guys, and I'm a little bit concerned about them exploiting him. There. You know who else is gonna get tested? You guys when we come back from the break, we are playing a game. C No. Hey, hey, if you're like me and you love I mean, if you have

get there earlier than the average fan. Okay, but these guys to get there, you're gonna have to to hustle. All right, Let's move on from this argument because I don't want to get into religion right now. Okay, let's fine to say about that. I'm actually gonna invite all of you guys. Let's all go to I'm gonna hit the old snooze button. If that's okay, Sorry, I'll come. I pick you up for this game and we'll dowards. That's how I'll always get people to come to church

with me. I'm like, how about to go to dinner after? Okay? Welling me treat? All right, you're you choose the restaurant. All right, I'll think about it. I'll think about it as damn all right, it's gonna be like that. Hey, if it's pain, I'll go to church for a month if we get to get all right, I didn't say that. All right, all right, guys, let's get into the game ce or No, which we have employed in a long time. Fans said send in the can't even speak right sent

in their questions to me. So are you guys ready? Here we go? Should we just switch to a college offense? I'm sorry, I sit and laughing like that's funny. Okay, but we're not hitting the panic buttons. Hey, that was Jerry who said that I'm sure. I'm sure y'all can relate. But like I just got inundated in tweets about the Rams last night. Oh yeah, well I started some of that and I was just kind of like I was saying it kind of in a flip way, and I was just like, man, did you see how many ways

they found a way to get Girly the ball? You know? And it was because they did that first series, like he was running reverses like he was. He was in the backfieldy running the mill run outside, he ran a flare route, he ran a wheel route like he was just doing all kinds of stuff. They lined him up outside and I was just saying it as a man, that was really cool. But fans will like Manet, you know, you can't get those guys by going eight and eight.

You just can't. The only reason the Cowboys have one of the best players ever because Tony Romo got hurt and the team wasn't good and they drafted fourth and they got Zeke. But you just can't get a top quarterback doing it like that. You're gonna have to you have to make a lot of trades and all that stuff to move up. Well, yeah, but I'm just saying that that quarterback is really good. We didn't know if he would be, but he really is good. Yeah. But

I mean we talked about it before the show. I mean, the Rams traded a lot to get up to get him. The Eagles traded a lot to get up to get wins. I mean, there is a way to do it, even if you're at fifteen, sixteen, seventeen. You just gotta be willing to mortgage a lot and you got to give up a lot of picks if you're gonna be willing to go and get the do or Die year to find out if Dak is the guy right now, he's

he's not looking like it at all. So but you know, you can't switch it to a college offense right now. I mean, yeah, to answer the question more directly, it's very we'll see. I mean which college offense. Well, yeah, I mean, like you know those college offenses with a mobile quarterback that runs the ball a lot. I mean maybe so, because that's really the only way you're going to do it with Dak right now is to get

him kind of on the move a little bit. So yes, I'll say this, there are college offenses that that have quarterbacks like that that are a lot more mobile than they are passers, and they are successful. So I think you can take some college concepts and use them here so that you know what, it's not that bad of a question at all. And let me throw this out too. I think, um, and we've talked a lot about these guys on this show. You look at RG three, you look at Um, vinch Young, Um, and I guess you

can look at Dak's first year. It doesn't seem to me to be a coincidence that those guys had success early and in each of those instances, in my opinion, maybe a little less the Cowboys, but certainly with with Vince Young and RG three. They were running an offense where they were taking advantage of what they did well at the time, which was they were allowing them to run the ball a lot more and be a lot

more in the offense in every way. And then what ended up happening is as they started getting older in the league, their teams wanted them to throw more. Which I get why you say, Okay, you just can't sustain a career running the ball all the time. That's the argument, right, But I think that's also the undoing of a lot of those guys, and so I do wonder if maybe they should go with the idea that let's just keep doing what this quarterback does well. Don't force him to

do what he doesn't do well. Keep doing what he does well, and maybe you can continue his success. Lenahan said this week that there's gonna be more wrinkles on offense, like it's gonna look and keep hinting that it's gonna look different. I gotta see it to believe it. Did he say that last week? He said no, not like he said it this week, which I gotta see it to believe it. It's not like I don't have a problem with the question at all, and I would love

to see some of that stuff incorporate here. I just gotta see it to believe it. Flee like, let's do it. Smith is finally playing at the level we hope for see. I mean, he can be better, he can, and he needs to be. But like he's playing at that level. He's he's playing, he's playing the snap counts that he played last year when he struggled, and he's not struggling.

So that's a step in the right direction. And here's another opportunity for him to step up this week and be not just a good player, but be able to bring everybody along with him, because that's what they miss when you talk about that stat earlier than one and eight without Sean Lee, what they miss as a defense a lot of times is his ability to lead that defense. And so I wonder if if maybe it's not Jalen, maybe Jayalen's not the guy that steps up to be

the leader. Oh, I don't know. I'm glad you said that. Did you see what he said yesterday? And this is bad radio because I gotta go back and find it. But he had a quote, Yeah, uh, this is like I mean when you talk about how the Cowboys are encouraged that he can be a cornerstone player. So you know, Jalen's gonna start at Michael vander esh is gonna start at Will. So Jalen yesterday talking about he says, I've learned so much from Sean and he's still the leader

of the defense. But the moment he's gone not able to play, or whenever he decides to retire, it's gonna be my defense. And I'm ready for it. Like I like that a lot. I love it, and you know, to be honest with you, that's not something that was a throw. That's not something that that you didn't really even that you know you wouldn't because he is he's that kind of person. You can see that kind of leadership quality in him. Right, it's still cool to hear it. Yeah,

no doubt. He does not lack for confidence, and you wouldn't expect him to say something like that. Really. No, Yeah, he's I mean he said that. I mean, he's not a great quote justin. I mean, you know he's he's a media savvy guy. He came from Notre Dame. He's not He's not the guy that's gonna be dumb. No, he's definitely not dumb. But the smartest players usually say the dumbest stuff in terms of they know how to

not make headline. Yeah, but that's a good quote. Very good Cowboys defense will get more turnovers than sacks this weekend. No see, yes see. I don't think you're gonna I don't think you're gonna sack Stafford. He's taken three sacks all season. He gets the ball out fast. Not getting a ton of turnovers though the Cowboys, Well, I mean it can change when you play a guy that wants to give you the ball. He's got five picks, three sacks, four sacks to re takeaways. Yeah, it's gonna be a

pick party. Okay, okay, all right, I'm good. I'm not against that. I just I'm looking at the history right now, and the history says that they're way more prone to get sacks than they are to get to get picks. But we'll see, we'll see, all right. Jordan Lewis was a wasted draft pick. That's harsh. No, Well, as soon to say that, it's here's that it sucks because they

drafted him with a whole different system in mind. Basically, I mean like Chris Rashard came in and is doing his thing now, like this is basically his defense, and it's gonna be even more his defense if you know, if he if that happens in the future. Um, but he wasn't drafted to fit that system. So it sucks. But so I mean, yeah, I guess technically it is a wasted pick because he doesn't fit. It's not no, it's playing it's not good. I mean that is it

too early to say that? I mean you still a second year and they didn't expect to be as good. But this is on him too because because yes, the outside guys, they like them big, strong, long guys. But he could play in the slot. I mean, Henny, it means that in a skill set, why wouldn't it be cover the guy be quick? You know you don't have you you got little guys in there, and you can you have to stay with him, like that's the skills of But not every corner can playing a slot well.

Like I mean, that's just I think that's that's a skill that some corners have, not all corners do well. If you're if you're going to be an undersized corner in the league when you need to be able to, I feel like you kind of do. And and Anthony Brown isn't about to play defensive tackle. I mean he's not the biggest guy in the world. I mean, he's

beating him out right now. Um. That's I will say this, and that's I have I have asked around about this in a few different places, and you know, they I hear that they like Jordan Lewis, but playing one snap in three games does not indicate that they like him. Not in the past, happy modern enough I'm getting on the phone there. Um, they might like it. They might like him in certain That's that's goes back to my point.

They may like him on the outside, they may like him there, but right now they're like the two guys we got on the outside we love. Maybe we like him, but we love the two guys we got on the outside. I have a hard time pounding the table about it

because we did see him. He got his opportunities in camp, and he didn't look awesome like he did not have a good preseason against you know, these all receivers, right, and so you know, if he had been just locked down nobody's messing with him, then I would really want

to get to the bottom of this. But it might be as simple as I mean, he clearly doesn't fit what Christo Shard wants to do, But also might be as simple as he's not as good as the other three, at least not right now, or maybe his confidence was affected by it. I mean, when you make that kind of change and stuff, I'm sure it affects you somehow, And yes, I understand you have to step it up anyways,

but I don't know there's no way around it. It's weird that a guy who was good enough to start seven games as a rookie now has played one snap and it was only due to injury. It's weird. And he's not a special teams pier. He can't contribute on special teams at all, which is that's really bad. Yeah, that was weird to me, was that a cornerback isn't contributing at all on special team He won't. He won't be in this situation for long. And I don't know this,

No one said anything to me about that. I'm just saying, a backup cornerback who does not play special teams, you can't do that forever. He's either going to be inactive, they'll pull someone else up, they'll trade him the something. You just continue to do that. Yeah, it's very weird to see on a forty six man roster or like, unless you're the backup quarterback, it's very weird to see somebody not you know, they on the game book every week it says did not participate. It's weird to see

anybody but the backup quarterback listed there. Maybe maybe an offensive limon maybe if they didn't play special teams, but that's it. When I saw that I actually ask our pr guys like, is this a mistake? He was like, Nope, No, I don't think so. Nope. Wow, and and and Cavon's over here with you know, seventeen injuries and trying to limp through playing safety and also playing special teams. Sure would be nice to get some you know, relief there.

But if they can't do it right now, all right, let's take our final break and when we come back, we'll finish up this game and move onto game day predictions. All right, would you want and this is what you would want? Not what the Cowboys would do? But would you want the Cowboys to draft a quarterback in the first round? What are you doing here? Why do we have to do this on September twenty seven? This is what the fans want to hear, I think. And it's a valid question, it really like, based on the way

the season has started, it's a completely valid question. I don't remember too soon, but I don't remember if it was the show that you might not have been here, but we talked about it, like, I don't have to have an answer to that question in weekly here, And I'm not I'm not trying to cop out when I say that because I have no problem saying the Cowboys need to get a new quarterback. If we go through this season and Dak continue used to look like this,

but it's week four. We have seen him play well. It not recently, he's been very bad. That's it. It's almost a relief this season because I think back to twenty fifteen, You're like, Romo's out, what are we gonna do? Like, we gotta trade for Castle, we gotta like we gotta tread water. Uh. If Dak keeps playing like this, that that's it. Like I'm not trying to salvage the season. If this is what it looks like for sixteen games, you're talking probably blow it up, in my opinion. So

this is a you got thirteen games to audition. This guy left and hopefully he rises to the challenge. Maybe not, And it'll definitely be time to talk about that if this keeps up for three more months, thirteen games to go. If thirteen stakes Also, if you want y'all think I'm I mean, y'all agree with me? Yeah, I definitely agree

with you. I mean, I understand that's what the fans one they watch, you know, cousins and uh and uh and golf just go back and forth like that and they think, you know, wow, it would be nice to have an offense like that. But um, if it continues this trend, yeah, I think I think you're gonna do that. If it continues this trend, it's also going to be

about five and eleven or six and ten. So you're picking at a spot where where you would definitely do that, and you're picking for a coach in an offensive coordinator that's not here yet. That's fact. Bason Garrett would telling you that probably, well, I'm not gonna go he takes

a data. Oh, we don't think about that. But I'm just saying, um, if what we see right now continues to play out exactly, yeah, But I'll say the flip side of that, if we see better than that, if we see him actually get into a groove, which last year, let's be honest, this this offense has some struggles last year at certain points, and it was about maybe week five four somewhere in there with offense actually got on a little bit of a streak there and started playing

pretty decent, right, I mean, was that the Rams game. I honestly believe Derek the first five or six weeks of the season, they had twenty eight points in every game. Yeah, and that carried over I think for the and Denver was the game that was the anomaly today. So I guess, I guess, I guess my point. I guess my point is that we've seen just last year there were some moments that Dad had that I thought were pretty good.

So if Dad can get back to that and kind of write this ship, because I don't want to write him off yet, And that's the reason why I would answer that question no right now, because I've seen I've kind of seen these two different times. I've seen I've seen a pretty good quarterback. I've seen a really bad quarterback. So I don't know what to think. It goes back to my original point earlier. I don't know what to

think right now about this team. If he can write the ship, then no, I'm not looking for a quarterback next year. If he doesn't and he continues to play as he's played these first three games, then absolutely I'm looking which is why it's borderline irresponsible slash stupid to try to well not No, we can absolutely talk about it. I mean that's we're Yeah, it's a it's a relevant topic, but like to try to make up your mind in

week before we've even played Week four. That's dumb and that and that's why, you know, even if Dak keeps playing this poorly into November, I'm not I'm not even interested in benching him. I want to see Cooper rush for like that. That ain't the answer either, no offense to Cooper rush. But I want to make sure, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that Dak is or isn't the guy, so that I know what I need to

do in the spring. I want to come out of this season knowing definitively one way or the other what I think. I'm gonna play this thing out. Keep harping on this, but if he is not this great quarterback, if there's a doubt at all, that means the team didn't do that well, and the team didn't do that well, then the guy's making the decision or not here yet. So it all you know, you're gonna have a different type of offense and a different coach and a different philosophy.

Maybe he really does fit into that, maybe he doesn't fit in it at all. So I think there's another step to this that we're forgetting, and I will throw this into like we're talking really definitively. There are shades of gray here. There's a real possibility you get to the end of this season and you're like, I still don't really know, because there was some weeks, some stret straight streaks of weeks where he looked really good, and then it was like there were other weeks when he

looked really bad. So you may come out of this year and still not have a definitive answer on whether you think he can really play and he should be out the future, and it leaves to you at that point. If let's say we were at that point right there and you're still kind of okay, we've seen good moments from him, but we've also seen bad moments. At that point,

where are you at him? Are you willing to kind of keep it going and maybe give him another year see how he goes or how many every because I've seen I've seen, I've seen how Lena gets. When I'll put it to you like this, if he's up and down and the Cowboys managed too, you know, I don't know if the Cowboys managed to get meaningful number of wins. And when I say meaningful, I mean nine plus and

he's up and down. Then I think you have to start thinking is it enough if you surround him with the right pieces and continue to develop, is it enough? Because what you don't want to do is you don't want to go back having no quarterback that you've been there before. Yeah, you want to go back to having no quarterback. So you have to kind of evaluate for what I have. Do I think if I give it a little bit more support, it can get me there?

Or is this just so bad that I have to start Just remember, I mean, the Browns drafted the quarterback number one overall and didn't expect to play him right away and didn't play him right away. The Chiefs draft to the guy eleventh overall that might be where the Cowboys will be around, and they didn't even play him at all his first year. So just because it's like, man, DA's pretty I mean, because but they knew Kansas City Alex Smith wasn't gonna be their guy forever, but he

was pretty good right now. That might be the situation. So because Dad still does have another year after this year on his contract right now, that's just never been Jerry's style. That doesn't mean you can't change it. But Jerry's always been at the point of like he wants that first round pick to play, and it's just never been a situation where you're like, you draft a quarterback like that and kind of wait and then when it's time,

it's time. So we'll just draft him in the second thing because they have no problem with that wait on him all right. Last question, Should the Cowboys sign wide receiver Richard Matthews from the Titans? He is more of what they already have him. Yeh, that's this isn't about the receivers. These receivers can get open to make plays. If they had a guy, they could do it, you know, you know, get him the football and all that. I don't really think another guy, I mean, I don't even

think we said. I don't think Calvin Ridley drafted him helps you that much. There's probably like Michael Thomas and Antonio Brown, like if you can get them here, Okay, but I don't sure. No, I know what I'm saying is no, no, he's not. No disrespect to him. I don't think he's the caliber of receiver that's going to drastically change. Yeah, he is that right in there in that middle tier of receivers that and given the right situation, can have a big game for you, a nice game

for you, right. I mean that's what he is, and so I don't think he's He doesn't drastically change what your wide receiver position looks like. I agree. Okay, game day predictions. I think the Cups will win. I think they win thirty to twenty one. They're gonna score that. This is gonna be the most scoring that we've seen out of them. They will get a defensive touchdown, so that's gonna be some of that, but they'll have a lot more offense that will play better. Zeke's gonna play

really well. They'll get around, They're gonna get some turnovers. It's gonna be one of those games I expect. I don't know. I've just seen it noon games at home. I think I said it last year with the Rams. But this is the type of game that they win. And remember the Lions of the Lions. There always will going to be the Lions. So yeah, great win beat the Patriots. That's awesome. Matt Patricia, he won his little super Bowl. He get it. But they're gonna be the

Lions used to say that about the Eagles, too. Okay, yeah, never know, you never know. Yeah, prove me wrong, win a super Bowl. Stafford still doesn't have a winning record. He's he's Stafford's great arm, golden boy, blah blah blah. Heal, He'll throw it to you. Okay, Dave, I saw it. Well. I think they're gonna win, which like it's it's funny, it really is. Like it's a gut feeling. Like I had a feeling all last week they were gonna lose

to Seattle just from the very gate. I was like, but even as bad as they looked on Sunday, I have a good feeling about this game. So the worst rushing defense in the league, don't overthink this. Ezekiel Elliott should have a good day. Matt Stafford's gonna find a way to give you the ball. And I also think the Lions will have yards. I think they don't score that many points. For how impressive their offense look, they

only score twenty four points a game. I think you can force them to settle for a couple of field goals, get a takeaway. Think the Cowboys win like twenty seven to twenty three. I don't think that they're gonna look amazing, Like I still think the offense is gonna look kind of well. But run the ball. You can win at home,

all right. I actually I'm so torn on this team, but I actually think they win, mainly because what I keep going back to is under Garrett, this is the kind of stuff they do a lot where they have one week it's good, and then they lose, and then they win, and then they lose, and so they did just enough to keep you on the right and then you get to the end of the season. It's always kind of right there. It's rare that this team under Garrett is not playing for something with two weeks left

or one week left. Right this is there. This is the twelfth time a Garrett team has been one game below five hundred. He's nine and two in those eleven games. So I kind of have a feeling with them being at home, and I think that I would I would feel a lot different if the Lions were and three. I really would. I think them beating the Patriots last week, which anytime a team in the NFL beats the Patriots, they feel really good about themselves. I think the Cowboys

losing last week. The way that they played, I think forces them to reevaluate some things, and so when you start comparing all those things, I think this is a week where the Cowboys get it. I don't know that it's necessarily gonna look a lot better, but I do think somehow the Cowboys find a way to win. I don't think it's going to be a high scoring game. I don't think the Cowboys score ton more points than

they normally than they normally have this season. I think at the end of the day is still twenty one seventeen victory. But I just think that's I think that's probably gonna be the story of this season, is that there's gonna be these kind of win loss, win, loss, win, lost, back and forth. I don't I haven't seen anything yet that suggests to me that I can figure out how they're gonna be able to sustain those wins with the schedule that they have and with the way that they're

playing offensively. All right, calling the dub Garcia, I think they win, and just for the same exact reason that Derek said. They just to me they're gonna do just enough to keep you there and keep you wondering Okay, can we actually make it or not? We'll see, but I think they get this w if A twenty four seventeen instead. Yeah, alright, alrighty For Derek Ingleton, Nickiman, David Hellman and Burgercia. This has been the Break on Dallas
