Episode description

Today, we welcome fiction writer, Mary Adkins to the show. Mary is the author of When You Read This, Privilege, and Palm Beach. A native of the American South and a graduate of Duke University and Yale Law School, her writing has appeared in the New York Times and the Atlantic. She also teaches storytelling for The Moth. Mary works as an online writing

coach, and helps other authors write through resistance and finish their books by finding a creative process that works for them. In this episode Mary discusses carving out time for creative self-care, her experience after suffering 3 miscarriages in one year and how to write from trauma without re-traumatizing yourself. We appreciate Mary’s insight into using creativity as a form of enriching and creating value in daily life.
