But what does its name tell us? In this week's episode, we will explore how Ukraine's name has shaped its identity from ancient times to the present day.

HENRI NKUEPO Now, to understand Ukraine's name, we need to break it down linguistically. the word comes from the old Slavic term, Ukraina. which means borderland or frontier region. For centuries, the name wasn't used To describe a country, but rather a geographical concept, a land on the edge of empires. This was the frontier where different civilizations met, clashed, and influenced one another. And throughout history, Ukraine found itself in this very position on the border of some of the most powerful empires in Europe. Ukraine's role as a borderline is reflected in its long and complex history.
