Episode description

Being a teenager is hard, and being a teenager battling an addiction can almost seem impossible. Fortunately recovery is always possible, and there are lots of crucial resources to help youth in their journey - including Alternative Peer Groups (APG's).

Coping 101 is an ongoing mental health series presented by C89.5 fm and Seattle Children's, and in this episode Nathan Hale High School student Amelie Couret leads a peer-to-peer conversation about Addiction & Recovery with Bade, a recent graduate from Bridges APG - Seattle's only Alternative Peer Group program. Bade shares their story of addiction & substance abuse throughout their teens and what it's taken to achieve - and maintain - successful recovery.

More info about Alternative Peer Groups and Bridges APG's specific programming, including activity schedules and scholarship info can be found online at seattleapg.com.

Coping 101 brings voices together to de-stigmatize mental health from a teen's perspective, with a new topic covered each month. No matter our age or background we all face challenges and *there are ways to cope* - with resources and basic education to get you started at c895.org/coping101
