Jess Sylvester is a musician from the Mission neighborhood of San Francisco. His recent album Hella Love is a love letter to the city and his old neighborhood. Jesse joins Dwyer to talk about rediscovering his voice in sobriety, not staying in a safe place creatively, finding inspiration from nostalgia and his heritage, and the challenges of writing a disco song.
