Episode description

Why do we start the holy month of Ramadan on different days? This is a question many have and it is a highly misunderstood topic.

In this episode of Contemporary Islamic Law we will be discussing moon sightings. There is an ever growing frustration at the beginning and end of the holy month of Ramadan, as we cannot seem to agree on the first and last day of the month. This creates disunity between scholars, communities and families.

Sayed Jawad Qazwini analyzes, summarizes and presents each scholars opinion in a simplified manner for everyone to understand. He also explains the different Quranic references that scholars rely on and he interprets each one.

Make sure to tune in to this weeks episode to find out all about the different aspects of moon sightings.
