Episode description

Hello, Players! Ever wonder why so many "this is just a drill" type simulations end up coming to fruition? In October of 2017, the fine folks over at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health released a report. They had mapped out a terrifying, yet “hypothetical”, scenario detailing the futuristic outbreak of a novel coronavirus (closely related to the infamous SARS virus) with questionable origins in Asia. Sound familiar yet? A three-year-long ordeal, this simulated pandemic inspired political division, the use of controversial antiviral drugs, mixed reception of a rushed vaccine rollout, and a widespread hysteria—all of it dominating the corporate and social media as the world struggled to stay in tact. While this might sound a lot like the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic that we’ve all come to know and love, this hypothetical virus was named SPARS-CoV, two full years before the aforementioned virus even emerged. Albeit eerily parallel to real life, this pandemic drill didn’t get everything spot on; but the numerous details that do line up might make one ask the same question as Jeremiah and Colby: Was this a war game mapped out by benevolent health care officials with our best interests at heart, or was this a trial run (sponsored by the elite) for a mass event just around the corner? Strap in for a ride as the boys try to make sense of SPARS 2025-2028. Thanks for listening! Please like, subscribe, comment, and share with all your friends and enemies.
