You may not know it, but Alabama is a HOTSPOT for biodiversity! In fact, the state has the highest amount of biodiversity found east of the Mississippi River! In this episode we sit down with Patrick Thompson who is the curator of the Davis Arboretum at Auburn University to discuss his work protecting rapidly disappearing plants, and to learn about the critical role that ecosystem disturbances have in maintaining Alabama’s biodiversity.
