Episode 21: Burn the Boats
Today I’m going to give you the run down of our recent move to Florida. I’m excited to share this experience with you and kick off a new “season” of the Connect the Dots podcast. I called this episode Burn the Boats because essentially that’s kind of what has happened. If you have never heard this phrase or one like burn the bridge, it alludes to famous incidents where a commander would land in hostile territory and order his men to burn their ships. It’s conquer or be killed for them. It’s not so drastic for us, but selling our house in AL and Jay leaving his full time job is pretty much us burning the boats. We were comfortable and our life had become stagnant. We were just going through the motions of life. We were living for the 3 or 4 weeks of vacation we got each year. Nothing else mattered.
I hope our story of change helps you see that while it can be scary, change can also be very good.
