What other high-ticket priced item do you buy based only on price and appearance—Car? House? Clothing? Lawnmower? Daycare? None of these. Can you name an expensive product or service you would purchase based only on price and appearance? I can’t, yet that is what millions of couples do each day when they choose their wedding photographer. This episode continues to fill in the gaps on what you should be looking for IN ADDITION to price and portfolio. In my opinion, these 14 key markers indicate someone is running a good photography business:

1.      Carries insurance 365 days a year

2.      Has business longevity 

3.      Offers a written contract

4.      Has a sales tax certificate

5.      Also pays state property taxes

6.      Is not a sole proprietor

7.      Has a website

8.      Has good Google reviews and responds appropriately

9.      Has a paid email address

10.  Attends continuing education classes

11.  Competes in international image competition

12.  Practices quality over quantity

13.  Runs a full-time photography business

14.  Responds within 24 hours to your inquiry
