Charlie sits down with Vernon Reid in a bookstore in Staten Island or “North Shaolin” as Vernon calls it. You probably  know Vernon as the driving force behind the incredible  band Living Colour . Charlie and Vernon touch on a wide ranging variety of topics including Vernon having given Charlie one of his first big gigs opening up for Living Colour. The advent of the Saxophone , The Importance of Eddie Harris , Leonard Bernstein’s knowledge and focus on jazz as a composer , The inconvenience of genius , the mystery of Trap music , Tom Jenkinson aka Squarepusher ( not Wilkenson  Vernon ) and attitude being everything. The two wind their way through a multitude of topics.  Vernon has worked in so many different circumstances as a musician and producer to name them all would be impossible. Some highlights include  Producing and playing with James Blood Ulmer , Geri Allen ,  Salif Keita , Bill Frisell , Marcus Miller, The Yohimbe Brothers with DJ Logic and many many more.
