$400 Million for Active Transportation Fund

In April of this year, The Government of Canada announced $400 million for Canada's first active transportation fund, and the development of Canada's first National Active Transportation Strategy. This money will be used to build infrastructure across Canada the will help you become an active traveller wherever you are. The strategy includes raising awareness about the benefits of active transportation, promoting its use, coordinating the planning design, standards and regulations around active transportation investments, setting targets and collecting data as to how we’re reaching those targets. It includes investing in active transportation, maximizing the value of active transportation to all Canadians, and finally, ensuring that this type of transportation affords a positive experience for everyone who chooses to do it.
