Episode description

Jade Harrell with Gary Wilbers, Capital Campaign Chair, SOMO Training for Life Campus.

Special Olympics Missouri has received a $1 million challenge grant from the Mabee Foundation for our SOMO Training for Life Campus, the planned new home for Special Olympics Missouri.

With this grant, we have raised $16 million in cash, gifts and in-kind services -- enough to build the 44,000 sq.ft. facility that will be the anchor of the Campus. An additional $2.8 million is needed for the outdoor fields and sports equipment. Donate >

Our Training for Life Campus will serve current and future generations of individuals with intellectual disabilities, and will be the largest such facility in scope in the United States. The 44,000-square-foot campus will be located in Jefferson City, and will offer year-round training opportunities for athletes, coaches and volunteers from throughout Missouri.
