Welcome to the Command Center Podcast. I'm Julie Donaldson. The Commanders were well represented in this year's Pro Bowl games out in Las Vegas. Jonathan Allen, Duran Payne, Terry McLaurin, Jeremy Reeves, and Trust Way competed in various challenges throughout the week, helping the NFC secure a victory. Former Pro Bowl linebacker London's Letcher joined me to recap the Pro Bowl games. Washington sent five players to the Pro Bowl. London, what does that say about the direction of this franchise?

It lets you know there's a lot of talent on this football team. You sent a guy from offense and Terry McLaurin, two guys from defensing with d Ron and Jonathan, and then two special team with trust and Jeremy Reeves. When you look at you talking about having players from each phase of your football team making a Pro Bowl, you couldn't ask for more. We'd like to see even you know, seven to eight guys coming to Pro Bowl, and that means you have a winning team, all right.

We will not sleep on five though. Let's start with Terry McLaurin. What we saw from him through this week's game. So I started with dodgeball, yes, and then also the water balloon catch, and then he also participated in flag football. I thought that he probably wasn't targeted enough personally in flag football, but we know no matter what, when he's on the field, he does have an impact. But what

did you say about how he performs this week? I thought he was performed well and you saw his competitive nature and on the first night in the Didgeball game, Terry being aggressive and you know he shared what that says his mindset with the with the Didgeball game. And then of course we know he has the great hands in that water balloon catch if we go on to it. John Allen, now he had the longest drive and moved

the change. He went twice and moved the change. The boy you could see he was pretty exhausted from that. I think he told me afterwards he's like, not the biggest fan. Yeah, now the move to change that was definitely they needed a different s different strategy. But I was impressed with his golf swinging and the longest drive. And then Duran Payne, look, he also was out there for the longest drive using YouTube to help him on that one of the water or balloon toss and move

the chains as well. Dan, you know what, he was really impressive. And to move the chains, it was like, hey, they kind of stole the technique of the AFC and he did. He did extremely well that he was a part of the group that won. And we certainly know he's going to be putting it out into his next contract negotiations as well. This is another skill that he has for him, trust way longest driving kick tac toe? Yeah,

do you know what kick tac toe is? For a potter, that's extremely difficult to be able to have that target, but trust he can hit that golf ball. And he said, you know what, it was the most easy game he's ever sat and had to do absolutely nothing today but play with his kids out there. Jeremy Reeves water balloon

toss and flag football. Yeah, Jeremy, him and his partner weren't totally on the same plage with the water balloon toss, but for him to be able to play defense in this in a flag football game, I'm sure he was happy about that. Yeah, when you look back at these games in the different format, because I don't think I've ever talked about water balloon tosses or the chains what I've ever talked about the NFL or any guys participate in that. What did you make of the new format

and the success that it had? You know, I loved it. Again, I think with the NFL, what they're trying to accomplish and all Star games should be fun, it should be entertaining, it should be competitive too, And I thought they accomplished all those goals with these reimagined games. Oh yes, of course, you can always compete in any of those activities, even the relay, the Gauntlet relay as well. We saw the competitive spirit come out. We also had coverage from Outmobile

at the Reese's Senior Bowl. Logan Paulson caught up with Washington legend Doug Williams. Logan Paulson. Here with a guy who doesn't need any introduction. Man, you can probably do this interview by yourself. It's a little surprising to see you down here. What brings you down here? My son the son Yep, Yeah, he's you know, he's coaching the quarterback down here and he's been in the league now for the last four years. And I felt like it was only fitting for me to come down and give

him some support. I just be around absolutely, and you know your quarterback obviously, do you ever give him any pointers? Or do you feel like the game has changed enough where you kind of let him do his thing? Like you just said, the game has changed at and just listening to him, I realized that he's a lot smarter than I was when I was a player, let me

tell you that. But but what I like about him though, he got so much passion for what he does, And I think that's what a quarterback coach has to do, is to have passion for the game, passing for the players, and just watching him and knowing how he feels about it. It It gives me great, great pleasure to see him work. Absolutely and you know, obviously offensive assistant with New Orleans. But now he's got his own room. Like how important is it for young coaches to get these opportunities at

events like this? Well, I think this is an opportunity for them to be seeing the most important thing. If the head coaches and other coordinators see see guys like this work and find out that they can do the job, I think that's the most important. I think that's why it's important for him to have his own quarterback room do the job. So I'm looking forward and hope that he'd get a call somewhere that want them to be the quarterback. That'd be fantastic. So obviously, you know, used

to be in scouting. You come down here and kind of look at this group and say, man, this is what I'm looking for from the senior ball specifically. Or no, not not really, you know now that you know, sometimes you get taken out of the lane, you stay out of the lane, and that's that's what it's happened with me. You know, I don't do that anymore because you know, I just want to come down and watch him. But I do watch some of the plays and players, but

I don't know him like I would have. Right, Yeah, if you're doing your thing. But Doug, thank you so much, man, I really appreciate it. You get some time with your son, man, believe me. Yeah. All right. For all your news and analysis, be sure to tune into Command Center weeknights at five and ten pm on NBC Sports Washington. You can also stream on YouTube and Commanders dot Com.
