Welcome to the Command Center Podcast. I'm Julie Donaldson. The Commanders had to San Francisco for a Christmas Eve matchup with the forty nine Ers. With a holiday season in full swing, London, Fletcher and Santana Mas shared what's on their football wish list, So we feared it's pretty much almost Christmas. It's the holiday season. Let's get your holiday wish list for Washington trying to get that win in
San Francisco and Santana. I'll just start with you. So I wish you'd ask me this last week, because I would ask for a win on on Sunday night. But I think right now on my list is just finishing the season out strong man. That's that's in with a winning record. That's end this year with a winner record. That's what we need, right I want to celebrate Christmas with a victory. Go up and to go into San Francisco and upset the forty nine ers. That would be a major gift for us. I mean, it can be
done right again. That's why they played a game on any given Sunday. I mean that would be my Christmas wish. I want a victory in San Francisco because If you get that, then you come home, you take on the Cleveland Browns at by all means it is a great winnable game. We'll see what happens to close off this season against the Cowboys. Is that we call him with the cow Girls, whatever you want to call him. Yeah, this is the cowboy killing find a way to pounce
on man. Can you imagine how Christmas Morning will be after celebrating them. Yeah, going into San Francisco, it's almost like it's just gift wrap for us, you know, because San Francisco ride and high. They feel like there's no way these guys gonna come in here and do what they do. You gotta think they have a young QB. I mean, I know he's a rookie. I know he's been playing well. But if we have a chance, we
have a chance to riding him a little bit. O Y Plus the Antenna spoke with rookie receiver Johan Dotson are recording his first one hundred yard game and how he's preparing for the forty nine ers. I got the command of star rookie receiver here, Johan, comeing off your first hundred yard game, tell me what that feeling was like? Man. Yeah, it's definitely a pretty cool feeling to get that under my belt, something that I've always dreamed about. I'm a big yards guy, so a lot of yards high yards,
that's all big yard guy. I've been in them shooting before. But you know what, speaking of the hunting yard game, the big catch you had, I mean, I mean, what was that like, man, locating that ball? You know, I've been in that moment before. You got a guy running stride and stride with you. You know that he can't see the ball like you can see it, and you just made the perfect play man, the perfect adjustment. What was that like? How was that going through that whole
that whole moment in your head? Yeah. So, as crazy as it sounds, you know, those moments they kind of slow down from me a little bit. So when the balls in the air, it feels like I had forever to adjust to it. Um. So I'm just trying to I know, the DBS right there, he's worried about me, He's not worried about the ball in the air. So I know, I'm gonna shoot my hands as late as possible. Um. And I did that, and I was able to come
up with a big play for the team. I'm wondering watching this, you know, watching you play the last few weeks. It's something about that team in New Jersey that you just get up for. Yeah, is it a little coincidence that you shine against those giants or you tell me what it is about those guys. Hey, you know that's where I'm from. I'm from Jersey, so you know, I gotta I gotta kill the home team. Put it on when I'm back in back in Jersey and back here in DC when we play Jersey. So yeah, it's always
great playing against your home team. And then you know, you kind of get up for that just knowing and hey, you know you grew up kind of hearing about those guys having the little hiccup earlier in the season with the hamstring. What was that transition like to get back into real form? It seemed like you like yourself again? You know, how was how was overcoming that? You know, now feeling like yourself again? How's that feeling been for you? Yeah,
it's been great. You know, when you when you get to take a step step away from the game and it really makes you realize how much the game means to you. So Agetting back out there, it meant the most to me and I wanted to be one hundred percent and just give it off from my team. So just getting back on the field was was big for me. Yeah,
it's great. You know, earlier in the season, we was all saying that you had so much chemistry with all wins, and now you have to experience something that I've experienced so often in my career. You have to make those adjustments on the fly and now you know, get your reps up, you know with Heineke. You know, how's that transition been for you? Yeah, it's been good. You know, working out here at practice every single day, getting those
reps in. It's big for us because you know, we didn't get those rep in the preseason, um in the offseason, so building those reps every single day. UM. Just becoming more comfortable with each other. It's been working out, speaking to the reps and gen just having a chance to sit back and watch guys like Terry, watch guys like Curtis. You know how that meant that those that veteran mentorship
been for you and your experience so fun. Yeah, having guys that have been there in your room with you, right there every step of the way along your journey. It's big for you just because you know they've seen everything that you're gonna go through ALM, So it's big, you know, having those guys and just being able to talk to those guys every single day when I'm when I have questions or I have confusion about something, those guys they got answers from me. Have you ever played
on the Christmas Eve game? I have never, but this is your first first time. They fun, man, fun. I may have to tell you, man, I had one of my favorite, my best games ever my first year here was on Christmas Eve against the Giants. So you know, I'm gonna give you a little look. I had three touchdowns that game, So I'm gonna go ahead and get and put that out there for you. Well. I'm hoping, man, that Christmas comes early for you guys. Man, y'all get
a win. Man. But um, best of luck to you this weekend, buddy, Thank you, appreciate you for all your news and analysis. Be sure to tune into Command Center weeknights at five and ten pm on NBC Sports Washington. You can also stream on YouTube and Commanders dot Com.
