Welcome to another episode of Las Platicas, a show hosted by Comadres y Comics, where we meet with creators and friends to talk about upcoming projects, events and all-around awesome news. Today we have the pleasure of having Marcus A. Bedford, Jr. Marcus works with Big Smiles Foundation, a non-profit organization that facilitates individuals' access to sober living housing, recovery programming, probation adherence, and job training. He also is the creator of "Calicarceration Comic," which was published in California LIfers Newsletter from 2009 to 2013. He uses comics to share personal narratives and insights from his own journey through the justice system. Most recently he was a panelist in the Comadres y Comics panel at San Diego Comic Con International 2024 Confronting Recidivism with Comics! We are very excited to have you with us today.
