It's time for coffee and Company, fueled by Thornton's on Sports Talk seven ninety Holy crap, I don't know who the hell we think we are get off our show, idiots. The kids are crying or turn them off. The countries are screwing it up. Gold Play Inner Murals, Brother, gold Play Inn Murals. They're supposed to be mature adults, but they're really not. Who's the kid here? Who's the kid here? Are you kidding me?
Now? Here's Nick coffee. You know, I rarely ever looked down at the level here on Mike one because that's the microphone I use here in the studio, because it's usually in the same exact spot. But I did look down just a moment ago, and I'm glad I did, because it was at the very top, John, which means had I not made the proper adjustment, we would have started the show sounding as if I was swallowing the microphone like it was. You know, I was digesting it because you know,
that wouldn't be good. But there shouldn't be a single soul who needs to have the microphone all the way at the top. Yeah, that's a good point. Although you know I listen to. I haven't listened in a while, but when I listened to Shannon on KSR, because Shannon does KSR well, actually does he? I guess he doesn't. He does the pre show from here right, Yes, he does KSR from from where I'm at?
Gotcha? Okay? That makes more sense because when I hear him on on KSR and I and when I I guess I'll have to listen to the pre because Shannon usually leaves it louder than I usually do, like, has the volume up higher. It's never at the very top. But when I hear him, I never feel like he sounds like he you know, like overmodulator that he's yelling. Maybe maybe because at times he can be soft spoken. He's got to save that singing voice. He's a big singer now with
the Alice bluegown, so maybe that's what he's doing. You know, he's just turning the levels up really high, talking song. That way he can conserve the voice for when he does all these big gigs. So yeah, shout out Shannon the dude an Alice bluegown. Anyways, let's get it started. Shall we at as hot as hell outside on a Tuesday Coffee and Company that's us. We are fueled by Thornton's by name's Nick Coffee, the company man John alongside today. Are you ready to rock and roll? I'm ready.
Are you ready or are you just ready to get out of here cause you got vacation next week? My man? No, But here's the thing. I think. The week before vacation can bring one of two things. You're either super anxious and you can barely get any work done, or it makes the week better because you know that next week you don't have to worry about anything. Yeah, or maybe it's a combination of the two. Usually for me, it's a combination of the two. I feel like I've recently
kind of I've lost my travel anxiety. I used to just get really anxious and think like, why would you be going on this trip? What are you doing? And you know that's just my mind getting in the way at times. But recently, like when I was getting ready to get out of here for our trip to Florida, even when I had taken some days off on Derby week, like I get slap happy and really, you know, less productive, which isn't good. But you'd never do that because you're the
company man. You're never gonna not give it. You're all here for the company that is. iHeartMedia and that's why you are. That's why you are the best. Are you like today? Like outside? How long you've been outside? Like just from house to vehicle, from vehicle to work, Like, probably not outside very much right, not today? No, the hotness and the mugginess is it's not an all time high, but it's at a
high for the year so far. I feel like it's just gross. It's hot ninety degrees and it's humid, and today was the day for me where I'm like, well, here we go. We got, you know, probably three months of this and you know it's gonna suck. Summer is great for a variety of reasons. And I'm well aware that I am in the minority. I am someone that would prefer cold weather rather than hot weather. It's not that I hate hot weather. I mean I actually I do today's
weather. I don't like, like, if I'm going to be outside today voluntarily, I need to be in shade with you know, beers just ready at every five minutes while I throw them down the neck, or I need to be in a pool like that's just because it again everybody's got their own preferences, their own you know, everybody's different, and I know that I'm a weak man in a variety of things, but I'm weak when it comes
to heat. Like anybody just outside like voluntarily today because they want to be and not like, you know, I just I get more than anything. Salute to you for being tough, being a badass and being able to like deal with that because I don't. I mean, it's just it's gonna get hotter. Trust me, I'm aware. It's like ninety degrees right now. I'm sure the heat in decks makes it hotter, but like the summer months are coming, and I just don't, I you know, I don't.
I don't know how people enjoy this. But again, everybody's different, and I think I'm a little bit more mindful of the heat right now because of last night. The air conditioning in my house was not working, and that was like the ultimate like uh oh uh oh, and this is the worst I had to have. So we got home from dinner with some friends after Moosa's baseball game. We went and got dinner with some friends, came home and the AC was set on sixty nine and it was seventy seven in the
house, so you know that's not good. I was at the house before I left for work, probably until like two o'clock yesterday, and the weather was and the temperature was fine, like it wasn't so at some point it just stopped working, but it wasn't like completely dead. Here's what happened. It ended up freezing up. I don't know if you've ever had that happen before. And I'm with the free on or something like that. So we hadn't changed our filter in a long time. Okay, so we think that's
what did it. So my wife changed the filter and we turned it off for a little while and then slowly but surely, like it's now working. And I'm just keeping it at like seventy one and I might turn it to like sixty eight when I get home to night, because I want to be comfortable and cool. But I'm a little worried that like it's gonna happen again, and if so, then there's no biggie. I'm gonna reach out to my friends at DF They'll get me situated and we'll be good to go.
But like last night, it's not realistic to expect or even like request someone come to your home at nine o'clock at night to fix your AC. So I told my wife, like, hey, let's go get a hotel room. She thought I was a crazy person, and I'm thinking, like why, like what, why do you Why wouldn't we She's like, well, it's not that bad in here, and she said it's colder downstairs, which is true. But at that point, I didn't know if it was going
to kick back on, like we didn't know. I just I knew there was a good chance I was not going to have AC last night in my home or tomorrow in the morning. And my first instinct was, Okay, we're gonna go stay somewhere like hotel or in fact, my brother in law he's at Disney, so like we go to his house. And she thought
I was being completely just ridiculous. And I don't think that's that crazy, right, I mean, when like I was going to take her to the Omni with the kids, like you know, I was gonna you know, there's there's some de I just I will if. I I mean, the last thing I want to do is be hot and uncomfortable. Yes, I give neighbors down the street when our AC's been out, we've stayed at their place before. Yeah, I mean, and again, everybody's different. My
stepfather one of the best men you'll ever meet. If he didn't live with my mother, I don't think he would have AC in his home. And he has a beautiful, huge home that you know, we mooch off all the time because he's got a nice, big pool set up and he's got a butt. I mean, he's but he's just someone that has his whole life like it could be one hundred and twenty outside. He may walk outside and it won't even register to him that it's very hot, because it's just
he's you know, he's built different, right, He's tough. He's tough. I'm not. I don't you know. If I if I can not
be hot and uncomfortable, I'm gonna not be hot and uncomfortable. And you know, the more I think about it, the more I'm like, you know, I'm sure nobody enjoys being miserable and just sweating their ass off, Like that's not fun for anybody, unless you know you're doing something fun to distract you from how hot it is, right, like a concert or a ball game or a party or something like that, or if you're in the
pool, like that's clearly going to distract you, or the beach. The breeze from a beach makes it to where the heat outside really is that bad. It's actually one of the I mean, that's one benefit of the beach. Like you can be at the beach and be near the water, not in it, and you're probably not going to sweat your ear end off because there's you know, there's enough air coming your way to where it's not that
bad. But she told me you should ask your audience. Would they have taken the same reaction that you did thinking the ac was out that because it was seventy seven, seventy eight degrees in the home, that we were just going to go get a hotel or go stay somewhere else. And I'm like, first of all, I don't care what they would do, but I don't think I'm like alone here. And look, I'm not a diva. I mean, I'm not like a pamper like I. You know again,
I'm from Bullet County. Let's be real here. It's not like I grew up with a silver spoon and you know, the you know, the fancy life. I wasn't in poverty. Again, to quote the Great Saw your brown great band, I ain't first class when I am white trash closer to white trash. Though, if I'm being honest with you, we're just gonna be real here. But again, I need, I need to develop some
some tolerance to this heat because it's just not good. And I get I get snappy, I get irritable, I get mean, not mean, but like, just you know, there's nothing worse to me than being hot and uncomfortable. Well, what about the other into things like is your wife, like, is she very cold nature? Does she hate the cold weather and needs the heat on on? You know, seventy five in the middle of winter kind of thing? She hates the winter? Yeah, I mean I
think she likes things that come with it. But like, yeah, I mean, she and I are total opposites. She would be fine if it was one hundred degrees outside every day, whereas you know, it could never be one hundred degrees anywhere I am for the rest of my life, and I'd be fine with that. So we are different. But right now, fingers crossed, the ac was still working. And again, if it doesn't
work, I'm sure we'll get it, We'll get it fixed. But yeah, today's Today was the first day where it hit me and I'm thinking, okay, well here it is, like we're probably going to be in this range a little bit cooler. The end of the week actually looks good for this week, Like I think there's some rain coming in tonight, and then I think Thursday and Friday looks pretty nice. Well good. I hope that's
the case. All right. Look, if you guys want to take us with you wherever you go throughout these next two hours and fifty minutes, you can do that by listening live on the out Radio app listening live at seven ninety Louisville dot com. You can be a part of the show too, if you'd like. Five two five seven one seventy nine hundred is the number. If you want to give us a call, you can text in on the lln N Federal Credit Union text line at five O two sixty five three
zero seven ninety. Since my return from vacation, I do feel as if
maybe the show hasn't been as interactive. Uh. Text line usually takes a little bit to get back rolling once I've returned from vacation, but the phone lines that's really just on me. In fact, sometimes you guys call and they're on hold and I just never even look at the call screen, you know, or I just you know, completely forget to you know, like, let you guys know, hey, we're taking calls, which, by the way, you can always call, but you just got to keep up
with where we are, right like, you know, don't call in and turn it into a show about you know, something that you wouldn't you know that it wouldn't really fit with what we do here. But then again, maybe if you like sometimes somebody could do that and it might actually be brilliant.
So look, we'll be open minded. But just again, disclaimer, if you call and instead of hearing the beautiful, sultry voice of the company man John Alden, you just start hearing us talking, that means that you're just we'll get John will get to you once we either you know, stop conversing ourselves or when we go to break, So just you know, be aware of that. All right, I think I'm gonna do it, John. I think I'm going to start the show today talking about the WNBA Oh
boy, would we go? We talked about it yesterday, but it wasn't you know, it wasn't what I started with. It was, you know, something that we ended up discussing, and it's still I think continues to be the most talked about thing in sports among you know, college baseball is getting some run right now because of the postseason in the NBA Finals will start, I believe on Thursday. There's actually another gambling scandal that I thought to
myself should be bigger news. But then again, you know, I don't think people are surprised that athletes, college and even pro are getting in trouble because they're betting on sports now that it has become not only easier and legal to do, but it's everywhere like it's I mean, these leagues at the professional level, baseball, basketball, football, they're all in bed with these
sports books. So it's not a good thing, and you certainly have to make examples out of people, but the shock value is not there, and I get it. And we got to talk about Scotti Scheffler because he talked today for the first time since his arrest here in Louisville, and I feel bad for the guy. I mean, look, he'll be he'll be fine. And I think everything that's played out since his arrest makes it look as if he is really the guy everybody thinks he is. In LMPD and in
the city of Louisville. Unfortunately are the ones who look bad here. But you know, hearing him talk about it, like again, charges dropped. I don't think people think he's a bad guy because of it. But you know, the mug shot, like that was something he mentioned. We'll play some sound from his press conference. But having a mug shot exists that,
like, you know, clearly people are having fun with it. Right if people are wearing a Scotti Sheffler shirt that has a picture of his mugshot on it, they're not doing it to make fun of it or make fun of him. They're doing it because they're like, hell, yeah, that's our guy, Like they're not, you know so, But still like having a mug shot exist for the whole world to see when you, in fact, you know, are guilty of really just a misunderstanding and it not needing to
happen like that sucks. That sucks. But he didn't say Louisville. He said Louisville. And we'll let you guys hear it, because I've got a question about that. I have a hard time thinking that that was not intentional. I'm not offended, right, I mean, wouldn't be a shock if somebody else had this happen to them and they never mentioned the name of this place again, or didn't you know, didn't you know, choose to bypass
a lawsuit. But anyways, we're loaded the rest of the way. But again, WNBA real quick here, because I what I've actually enjoyed, just me right, you know, I know some people don't care and you don't seek out, you know, the opinions of those that have the national platforms. But I listened to Jim Rome yesterday a little bit and I heard his thoughts on it, and then I heard him once again today kind of revisited after Ael Angel Reese has you know, kind of in my opinion, made
things worse for herself. But Michael Wilbon, who of course I think a lot of you know, from from part of the interruption, you know, I thought he had some very strong In fact, him and Tony Kornheiser both had some really strong thoughts on it that like this conversation is I you know, unfortunately, I think there are some that just before even real put it this way, there are some that will not see what Kennedy Chandler did or
what even Angel Angel Reese did. And let's just say it happens again tomorrow whenever they play again the Indiana the Indie fever. Like, there are some that won't need to see if somebody, you know takes a swing at Caitlin Clark and knocks her out right, they'll just automatically side with whoever did it
and paint Caitlin Clark as somebody who had it coming. And there are others who you know, will just claim that, you know, the WNBA players are all the worst, and by the way, I side with that, not that I think they're all the worst, but like again, I talked about it yesterday and my thoughts really haven't changed since then. The WNBA's reaction, meaning some of the players, and I think everybody from top to bottom,
even her own players, you know, even her coach. This just screams of jealousy, which is the worst human emotion to be to be caught up in, right, it happens, but to wear it and be so to let your jealousy create these kind of things, these kind of situations, I mean, it's such a sad look for for those that are doing that, including you know, including Angel Angel Reese and Kennedy Chandler, and then the you know in others, who are you know, just applauding anybody who
decides to just take a cheap shot at Caitlin Clark. But I I know it. I'll put it this way, if this entire thing, you know, Caitlin Clark getting bullied, is this strategic move to keep the w NBA in the in the you know, in the news wire right, you know, as a as a conversation that is taking place nationally. I mean, well done if that's the case. I mean, I have a hard time
believing that. Maybe I'm you know, naive. I just have a hard time thinking that, you know, that they would want this to happen, and it begain deep down, I don't think that it's that it's all planned. However, the ratings are all time high because of this. Now they would have been high because of Kaitlyn Clark regardless. But you know, like
at the end of the day, this shouldn't happen. And I'm sure at least I choose to believe that somebody, whoever it is that's in charge of the WNBA, whoever the commissioner is, who's been you know, invisible. This is a good thing at the root of it, meaning like there's more attention on your league more than ever. Now. Some may say, well, I'm never watching again because they're picking on Caitlyn Clark, or I'm never watching again because all they do is make it to the Kaitlin Clark League.
So again, people have their own opinions on it. But again I think it all just it's it's it's jealousy, I really do. And to hear Caitlyn Clark. I mean, here's where I feel like, let's start with Katon Clark again. You all know what I think of her. I find her to be rather unlikable as a player, but I also know that she's a phenomenal talent, one of the best maybe ever. And you know,
that doesn't mean she's a bad person. It doesn't mean she deserves to be, you know, for the things that kind of turned me off about her as a player, with how she carries herself, how she acts around teammates and referees and things like that, that doesn't mean she's a bad person and it doesn't mean she deserves to be. You know headhunted out there at times, so I don't, you know, I'm not I'm not here to defend her. But she's not at all complaining, right, Like she's not using
this as a chance to like, you know, play the victim. And what I think is sad and I mean this when it comes to Angel Reese, I think she's lost. I don't. I think she has an identity crisis. I think she's jealous, and I don't think she knows what she wants to do. Does she want to be the victim and claim that she's
she's targeted for you know reasons? I don't. I mean, you know, does she want to play victim and act like everybody's ganging up on her and act like the whole world loves Caitlyn Clark and because of that they hate her, which is not true. I think some people who have their opinion of Angel Rees have it for their own reason, and I think it's good
reason. That's not saying that I think she's the worst, but like, let's be real, like she's she showed her ass the other day, like the way she acted about that whole thing and then wouldn't come out and talk about it, like you're that's not a professional, that's a child. And you know, it's hard for people to if that. If that one instance is is what someone's going to use to make their opinion of you, it's probably not gonna be a very good opinion. So does she want to play
victim or does she want to be the villain? Which one is it? You can't do both because if you're the villain, then you're gonna want the heat. You're gonna want people, you know, hating you, and you clearly don't want that because you play victim too much. Like which one is it? Right? Like she's she's not consistent, and many have made the comparisons that she's Draymond Nope, Draymond Green. What you see is what you get. He ain't playing victim. He's not Draymond Green's not you know,
not acting as if you know the league's out to get him. I mean, I can't stand Draymond Green. He's a true villain. And you know what, as much as I can't stand him, you know why, it's because he's a damn good villain. He's one of the most easily hateable players that ever played the game. Now again, hating his on court antics and his the things he says, the way he carries himself doesn't mean you don't respect him as a player. Now, I don't think he would have much
of an NBA career if it wasn't for the time and situation. But still, he executed a specific role that Golden State needed and he helped them, like I think he, you know, wouldn't. I think his his career would be totally different if he didn't end up aligning the way he did in Golden State. But like I respect Draymond to an extent. You know, I think he's a dirty player, but like he's a great villain and sports needs villain. It makes things better, right, Like this is all entertainment
and drama. But Angel Reese, if you want to be the villain, you're not built for it because you play victim too much. You cry, You act as if you know people are out to get you and against you. And I feel like the majority of the heat, if you will, that's been on her, rather it be at Lash or in the WNBA.
She did it to herself. And this is her talking yesterday, And you know Kennedy Chandler talking yesterday, and the two of them chose to speak together again as if they're victims in this whole thing, when it is you two that both on the floor and after the fact press conference which Rees didn't show up to, and then on Twitter like you're not a victim. You made a fool of yourself and you're getting called for it, Like what do you I mean? Like that, that's what this is. But here here's what
Angel Rees said. Let's see if I can get it to play for you. It all started from the National Championship game. And I've been dealing with this for two years now and understanding like, yeah, negative things have probably been said about me, but honestly, I'll take that because look where women's basketball is. People are talking about women's basketball. You never would think that
we talking about women's basketball. People are pulling up to games. We got celebrities coming to games, sold aut arenas, like just because of one single game, and just looking at that, like I'll take that role. I'll take the bad guy role, and I'll continue to take that on and be that for my teammates. And if I want to be that, and I know I'll go down to history. I'll look back in twenty years and be like, yeah, the reason why we're watching women's basketball is not just because
of one person. It's because of me too, And I want you to realize that. So that screams jealousy. If you felt that way, why do you have to say it? By the way, numbers don't back you up, to be honest with you. And she wants more credit for her and not just Caitlin Clark for that national championship game, which is you know, clearly that whole storyline did really prop up women's college basketball last year to
have a monumental year with viewership and everything, and it was great. There was storylines, there was known stars for people who don't even follow the sport that closely. But I mean Caitlyn Clark, Yeah, she can be fiery, and I think she does what you would consider, you know what, not every player does. But like her screaming and all that, that was way different than what Angel Rees did when she went and got in her face and wouldn't leave it alone, Like it was not the same thing. People
can act like, oh, keep the same energy. You weren't doing that when Kaitlyn Clark was. No. I hated Kayln Clark because she did it to my team. But then I watched the national championship game when Angel Reached did it and it was not the same thing at all. It was taunting. It was over the top, so like you weren't a victim from that you did that, Like there's no accountability from her. She's young, but
like she had, she's childish, and I just don't know why. Like when someone lacks self awareness or just can't read the room and doesn't know how they come off. I think a close friend who cares and knows should be able to like step in and say, look, you don't realize it, but you're making it worse every time you talk. And you know she didn't say anything crazy there, right, but you know it screams jealousy is what
it is. What it does. And I think there's also some denial here because you know, if you look at the attendance at non Kaitlin Clark WNBA games this past weekend, you know, the most was ten thousand. There were some that were three four thousand, one got to nine. A few of them were in the four thousands, but attendance at Kaitlin Clark WNBA games this past weekend, each of them were over seventeen thousand, like, tell
yourself whatever you want. But Kaitlin Clark is the reason why there is this much attention on the WNBA and you can't deal with that, you can't accept that, and you're acting out and it screams jealousy and it's just a bad luck. How about that WNBA hot takes to start the show on a Tuesday. You never know what you're gonna get here, it's coffee and company. We are feel about Thorntons right here on Sports Talk seven nine. I'm second guessing myself. Now this is Sawyer Brown, right, it is okay,
just making sure really good and then forgotten group from the nineties. I have learned though a lot of people thought Sawyer Brown was one guy I did until you just said something, did you really? Yeah? And that's okay because again, apparently you know that was the thing because they had a front man and his name is Mark Miller, and turns out he's like a big Kentucky
fan And this is random as hell. I think it might be Kyle Macy who has become friends with him over the years, and he's he's like uses his tickets a lot, So I don't know the connection to Kentucky. I don't think he's originally from there, but yeah, Sawyer Brown Man, they had had a great run in the nineties, and I think they're one of those groups or just artists that just kind of they were never like at the top of the country world back in the nineties, but they had some hit,
had a run, and then they kind of just faded away. But I think he was on ks R at one point and he shared that a lot of people like would just say, hey, you're Sawyer Brown like, well, kind of, I'm you know, I'm in the band. Well that's what happens when you name your band a name. Yeah, yeah, do you know many Sawyers? No, I don't have a friend who has
a son named Sawyer. And uh, I like the name, but I'd never really thought about it, like I knew it was a name, but yeah, I just I don't know, like I assumed that because they were I mean, it's a group that you would just assume that, you know, because how many how many bands are there, I guess there are artists who are just they don't go by a band name or a group like, but they but you know, it's quite clear there there's more than just one
person. However, the group themselves is just called the lead singer's name, you know, usually their last name, Like we played Dawtrey. Yesterday's name is Dawtrey. Yeah, so the band is called Dawtrey. Yeah. If you if you were like playing bass, is it just a given in the music world that like yeah, because you're not the lead guy, the front man. That if the if the band's name is based just off of the lead singer, like that's just how it goes. Because I don't know if
I would. You know, I got an ego like anybody else, Like, I don't know if i'd be cool with that, Like you know, hey, why is it just this guy's name? Yeah, it's very I've thought about that before, but again, I've never been in a band. I don't know how I would feel, but I can see could it could trigger some jealousy? Yeah, I wonder what, like the biggest reason bands
breakup is. I feel like most of it from whenever I've read into stories on why bands breakup, it's either alcohol related or can I take another stab? Sure, and you might be saying this creative differences. Yes, that's exactly where I was going next. I don't believe any of that, Like I think that could be there's an underlying reason to like there's more to it
than yeah, we're gonna part ways. Like this is super successful, we're making a ton of money, but we're gonna walk away because of creative differences. I mean, maybe that is the truth. They learned the hard way. But uh yeah, sometimes a lot of those guys, they they pan out solo careers and they they make more of me, not all the time, and usually ends up just kind of being a side project. But a lot of those guys they go on to have decent solo careers. Yeah,
play me another sol your Brown the next hour. It's gonna be a sol your Brown Tuesday. First first return from every or first first return of the hour. We'll do sol your Brown. H love it. You do too much for me. I mean, I appreciate you really going the extra mile since you're gonna be gone next week. Because I know Austin, you know, he'll play he'll play his his you know, his choice of songs. What is his brand of music? It's all over the place. You know.
Sometimes you know, I'll come in and I'm like, well, he must have been at like, you know, a techno night last night, because that's that's the vibe. Or then sometimes it's you know, like is it called, oh yeah, dance music, and sometimes you know it's rock, like he's got a mixed bag and yeah, oh no, you all. When I used to fill in for Matt, I feel like I was always playing my rocky music stuff and you know, it wasn't always everybody's cup
of tea. And honestly, the like, this is where you guys have full like creative control, not to take over the show, but that's where you can put your flavor on it, you know what I mean, like you yeah, we're talking about and I would never tell you, you know, hey, please stop playing this or that, because again, like you
know, it's your, it's it's your. Could I like that you can play you know COOLi oh and then Celine Dion in the same hour, like and it wouldn't be you know, it's not that's not that unheard of around here. So uh yeah, I like being surprised too. I really enjoy when there's a song like you just did that is played and I remember, oh yeah, that's because I you know, I said those words from that song, I ain't first class, but I and y trash and yesterday jealousy
whenever I was talking about Like, So I like that. That that's I think that's that's creative. And I like being surprised. Just I like being surprised when I see what you name each show. That's fun to look at me gassing you up before you get out of it. Hey, you know, just just just being honest here, all right. So Scotty Scheffler, he spoke earlier today, I believe it a tournament that's about to take place
in Ohio. And this is the first time he's talked publicly since his appearance at the PGA Championship, which of course resulted in him getting arrested, which is just crazy to say, but that's what happened. We all know that that's what happened, and you know it sucks. But here is uh, here's a here's an eleven second clip of mister Scheffler mentioning this city of Louisville
and you know, not calling it what it's called. I did not want to have to pursue legal action against Louisville because at the end of the day, that the people of Louisville are then gonna have to pay for the mistakes of their police department. That just doesn't seem right. And do you think he knows it's not called Louisville And I don't care. I'm just curious. That's because he's he's like gas, He's like, hey, I didn't want to have to make the people of that city have to pay for it.
It's not their fault. Like that's being nice, that's being kind. Yeah, that's almost like him going out of his way to make sure people are aware. He doesn't think that, you know, he doesn't think poorly of us as citizens of Louisville. I just don't get how anybody who went through what he went through and it involving the city and not hearing people pronounce the name Louisville or Louisville either one of those would be more acceptable than Louisville.
Yeah, and again it's I don't want to say he did it on purpose, because if you just listen to it and you don't have any context, it sounds like that's the way that he thought it was pronounced. Yeah, And I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, because you know, a lot of people gave him the benefit of the doubt whenever. We were just taking his word as to what happened, and I didn't think he was lying,
but sure enough he was telling the truth about what happened. And there are some people that think that maybe he's kind of taken this approach because he knows that maybe he did something that wasn't on camera or something. But either way, like that's whose fault is that that's an Ellen officer who pooped his pants and didn't have his body came on and that's a direct violation of your
job. So like that's on you. And I don't believe that. I don't believe that, but you know, certainly something even know, one of the first texts that came in on the text line is, you know, I said, if I was Scotti Scheffler, you know I would I would you know, I don't know if i'd have I don't know if i'd be
handling the exact same way that he did. And something, Well, you know, he feels like, you know, and I never know if somebody's trolling me, if they really believe like, well he got away with assaulting a cop, he should be lucky, Like do you believe that or are you just saying that to try to, you know, to get me going, which either way, I mean, that's your opinion. Cool, don't care, no offense, just you're not going to change my mind, and
I don't care that you have that opinion. But he grew up in Texas, and there is a Lewisville, Texas, which makes me think that that could be where he just get you know that while talking up there at a press conference with a bunch of cameras a lot of attention, like it just that's what he went with instead of that, but you are you, But you said something that I hadn't thought that is so true. Maybe he tried to block it out and ignore it. But like nationally, it was discussed
for like a week any update. Certainly the first the weekend that that had happened. It was all anybody talked about across the country when it comes to sports. But he was even a bigger story than just in the sports world,
and nationally, nobody was calling it Lewisville. Now, they may not get it right when we say Louisville, like they may say Louisville or Louisville like some people just you know, get they overthink it and it just roll off the tongueunless you're a Louisville native or you've been around here or you just know, like you've come to know how we pronounce this city. But I don't think it was, you know, a diss or a slight at the city. But it's just sad, you know, because he'll be all right,
you know. I don't think people overall look at him differently as if he's a bad guy. But I think anybody who goes through that the the legal system for something that they truly are innocent of, like that'll that'll mess with you, man, Like that'll mean that I think you have every right to be in like if you end up going to jail for something that you didn't do, and now there are there are there are instances where it just comes down to them taking somebody's word over yours and you got to let it
play out and then you end up getting proven to be innocent. And that really is just that's that's that's really law enforcement probably just doing the protocol of what they are taught to do in regards to like handling situations that might result in somebody getting handcuffs on them and going to jail. So sometimes it's just you know, like sometimes things happen, like you know, and there's no
really anybody to blame. It's just a tough situation that like sucks. But if you end up going to serve jail time because of shoddy police work or like maybe there's a crooked cop, which by the way, there was one here in Louisville for a long time that you know, the city's now had to pay millions and millions of dollars to people who were thrown in prison because of this cop, you know, doctoring evidence and whatnot, which, by the way, I went into deep dive on that the other day. It's
wild that that happens. But what I'm getting at is like I can't imagine, like, oh, we're sorry, we really it was a big mistake on our end. We hope you accept our apology. I'm like, you ruined my life. Like it's just it scares me to think how common that that happens, and I you know, I don't want to think about it. I'm not saying everybody in prison is innocent, but just the evidence that just over the years, folks who have been proven to be innocent of something
they serve time for and maybe had their life ruined for. Like that's awful, Like that's you know, I don't know how you can be repaid for that. Obviously you can file a lawsuit and get a lot of money, but still I think there's a personal pride that like, yeah, you can, you can make off with a bunch of money from it, but it still is just like a violation. You know, I don't know. I'm just rambling here. And Scotti Scheffler, you know, he'll be okay.
I don't think he's a victim, but I can't be the only one. In fact, I know I'm not the only one when this thing played out step by step. I mean I thought, if he's he wasn't Scotti Scheffler, if he didn't have the resources he has, if he wasn't someone that is so famous that it's going to generate this kind of attention, you'd probably still be sitting in jail, Which is crazy because anybody who thinks that what we saw and what we witnessed is worthy of a felony, like, you're
wrong. And I think Steve Rohmins was you know, very you know, I think he was strategic in how he brought up the fact that if in fact they had any like if he was truly dragged by the vehicle as he claims when he in my opinion, I believe he pooped his pants. That's how the pants got ruined. He never said they were torn, ever said they were ripped. He just said they were ruined. You know, they were ruined because I think he I think he pooped himself and he got a
booboo on his knee. But like, if they felt that they truly had that situation where he was dragged, they wouldn't drop the charges. And the fact that they were multiple witnesses that talked to both the county attorney and to row Mians and we're willing to testify that they saw everything. They didn't have a camera, they didn't have a body cam or anything like that, but
they saw it and that that didn't happen like that is crazy. And again, if it wasn't Scotty Scheffler, that person may still be sitting in jail, which is just a scary thing to think about. All right, you know what else is the scary thing? Scary thing to think about? Low T, Low T, You don't want it. You terrifying, Yeah, it's terrifying. You don't want low TE. And I could tell you firsthand.
I had low T and it sucked. Didn't really know what it was, but you know, workouts weren't as effective as they used to be. I was lethargic overall. The best way to describe it as I just kind of felt like I'd lost my edge and I didn't know why. For a while, I chalked it up as, hey, you know, you're getting older, that's part of it. And although that is true, you know that's not always that's not the full reason, right Like, as you get
older, obviously things change. But for me, when I got my levels checked at the Louis of Men's Clinic, I realized, you know, my levels are not you know, just low for my age. My levels were someone who was probably in their sixties, which wasn't good to hear. But it also made me realize sort of, how, you know, you know, how common this is, and that there are things you can do to treat low T. And I'm doing that now with the lot of Men's Clinic.
I've been getting testosterone treatment for a few months now, and it's you know, not an exaggeration to say it's changed my life. I have more energy, I have better workouts, my mental state is better, which again I'm not over selling it here. Low testosterone can lead to can impact you negatively in a variety of ways, including with depression. And I don't think that I had full blown depression, but I just feel a lot better about
myself. And if you are somebody that, whatever age you are, you just feel as if maybe things you know, you're not getting the benefit of the workouts like you used to, you know, again lost your edge. It could be because you have low T and there's only only one way to find out, and that's to go to the Lois of Men's Clinic. Go
see doctor Wood, get your levels checked and they'll let you know. And sometimes your levels may not necessarily show that you are extremely low in the testosterone, but if you have symptoms and it kind of lines up, they'll they'll find a way to make you happier and healthy. That's what they do with the Louis of Men's Clinic. It's not just low tee. It could be for rectile ysfunction, it could be weight loss therapy. They've got hair restoration.
I mean they are an all full service men's clinic, hence the name louis of Men's Clinic, because they're helping men become happier and healthier. And I know that there's got to be many people just like myself who have benefited from the services at Louisvill Men's Clinic. And they thought to themselves, Wow, why didn't I reach out a couple of years ago, five years ago? And it's a good question, but you know, better late than ever. Right, give them a call now, FAVO two four four four four
thousand again five O two four four four four thousand as the number. You can check them out online at Louisville Men's Clinic dot com. All right, quick time, I will come back and wrap up the three o'clock hour. Keep this party rolling along. What a weird show. Wnba Hot takes thoughts on folks getting arrested and doing time for crowns they didn't commit. What is this this sport show? So I believe right now, ten of the thirteen newcomers are on campus at U of L, and you know, here for
the summer and going through workouts and stuff. And I don't think there's any concern about those that have not arrived just yet. In fact, I believe two of them are guys who are going to have to read shirt. So maybe there's not as much urgency for them to get here because they're coming off of injuries. But you know, I love the breath, you know, the small clips and when I say small, I mean like maybe twenty seconds, sometimes even less than that. But there's these clips that the social media
group over at u of L is putting out of these guys. I guess it's like some testing, like some summer conditioning testing stuff where they're like testing verticals and whatnot. And there is a video of a guy who I've said since day one, since he committed, I think like he isn't going to get a lot of attention compared to some other transfers, not just around Louisville but just in the country. But I think Kador trail or who transfer from Long Beach State is I mean, I think he's got a chance to be
a really special player here that we remember for a long time. Now. Again, a lot of that depends on how good the team is, and I'm not even sure how much eligibility he has left, So maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but to me, he's the guy that it's going to be really hard to keep off the floor. He's a freak athlete,
he's explosive, he's long, and he's just rare man. I mean, the one thing he's not great at and you know, there's really no I mean, it's not like at this point in his career it's going to improve substantially. But you know, he's not a shooter, and he knows that. And I think he's probably had that weakness to his game maybe since day one, right, because he does everything else so well to where he
doesn't need to take any jump shots to make an impact. You know, there are teams that would not defend him like on the perimeter, right because they knew he wasn't a threat to shoot. And at times, you know, that can be you know, that can be a problem, right. You know, you just you're out there taking up space and you're making it easy on the defense. If they're just challenging you to shoot and you don't shoot it. Sometimes you got to trust the shot and you know, fire,
you know, fire away if it's a good look. But he and if you go watch a lot of his highlights, he'll be dribbling the ball with the opponent knowingly just backing off, and he'll still find a way to back somebody down and distribute. I mean, he's just a rare player, and rare doesn't mean, you know, he's an All American. But it's
six five, one hundred and ninety five pounds. You know, that's typically a shooting guard or a combo guard like frame right six five, But you know, his wingspan makes it to where you just watching him out there running and jumping, he looks like he's more of a stretch four. But twelve points, eight and a half rebounds, four and a half assist, a games, shot fifty one percent from the field. This is a guy who
knows who he is as a player. And I don't know if he's going to start, but I just have a hard time thinking he's going He's not going to play big minutes and have a big role because again, he does
a little bit of everything, and the motor just never stops. So you know, I'm sure there'll be many clips that get posted on social media over the summer of these guys doing workouts and whatnot, and it doesn't mean much, right, you know, I know that this doesn't tell us anything but the fact that we can now see this stuff in the offseason and just by looking at the body language of not just the players going through these workouts,
but just everybody in the gym over there at the Keeper Center, Like morale's different, the culture's different, and again we'll see how it all works out. I don't say that to present doubt, because I don't. I mean, I don't know, but I have faith and belief that Pat Kelsey's gonna have a great run here. Now will he win a national championship and go to a bunch of final fours? Who knows, But I think, you know, this is going to be successful. I don't know that, but
I choose to believe that. But to see this stuff and feel, you know, genuine excitement is just it's been missed. I mean, not to go back to the previous era, but you know one Kenny and his crew didn't do much of this stuff to really engage fans. But even when they did, you know, we knew that like this was not gonna work out, even before he ever coached a game, there were some signs that some didn't want to acknowledge. I didn't want to acknowledge. I didn't want to,
but clearly red flags right out of the gate. And now there's a new era here, and just being excited about little clips from social media and having you know, feeling like it's genuine. That's just it's something that I missed. All Right, let's get to a top of the hour break. Two more hours to go, a lot more to get into. Stick around, We'll keep the party rolling along right here on Sports Talk seven ninety
