It's time for coffee and Company, fueled by Thornton's on Sports Talk seven nine day. Now here's Nick coffee. All right, let's get it started, ladies and gentlemen, our number three and that you know, we're getting our number three starter. We've been We've been doing this for the last couple of hours. And uh, if you've missed, if you weren't with us, you really missed out. But that's okay, better late than never. And uh, we got a lot more to get into, so make yourself at
home. Coffee and Company. Feel by Thornton's here on Sports Talk seven ninety coming to you live from our wonderful four Street Live studios here in downtown Louisville. It's nice to know that Buck Sexton was on his best behavior here in the studio on Friday. John, Oh, he wasn't trash and studio over there. He left it like you found it, and that's what I wanted. I think he knew that the one mistake, one potential, you know, not career ending mistake, but a bad move for his career, would
be on my bad side. Right. I heard one of our employees came in and took a picture with him. While he was potentially on the air. I don't know if it was during a break, but he just kind of barged in. I won't say who it was, but I know who it was. You know who it was. Oh, I guarantee you I know who it was. I'm looking at John and mouthing the name man, right, dude, a woman. It's a man, it is not.
Okay. Wow, that's an upset for me because I thought for sure it would have been it would have been, you know, the person deep cut, the person that you know I'm referring to. Yeah, I know you're talking about, but it's kind of a deep cut on our staff. Oh man, is it? Huh? I think I know who it is,
but I'll tell you during the break. Okay. Anyways, speaking of our staff here, I don't know how I had mentioned this at the beginning of the show, because as soon as I was getting ready to go live on the air at three o'clock, one of our colleagues here, Daniel Blas, stopped in to show me his winning ticket for Saturday. Did you see what he did? I saw, but I don't know how he had. He did a one dollar pick five where he picked he picked all of them and
they I mean he won based off like was just random. Yeah, he's randomly picked him wow, and it came in. So he had a one dollar bet that paid him. I think it was like twenty seven hundred dollars. So shout out to Daniel, I mean, and Daniel is is he's kind of got. I don't know if he learned it from Will Clark because they worked together here for a little while. Will Clark of course has left us. He's now working for ul we miss we miss Sasquatch. But Daniel
is now become the Will for us at Derby. You know, you know, we have a pretty pretty full crew usually that is there at Churchill Downs during Derby working in some capacity and Daniel's one of our engineers here and he just goes wherever he wants and waits for somebody to tell him like he can't go there. Will Clark did that, Will Will, I mean Will did that with anything right, Like he'll show up anywhere with a microphone and get the story because you know, that's just he was tenacious as a as a
reporter. Daniel's not a reporter, but like you know, he's got a credential, like all of us, and he'll just go anywhere and show me pictures of him finding a spakeasi that is at Churchill Downs, or him ending up on him ending up in the millionaire's row. This year, for some reason, we did not get credential access to one area, and that's the
red carpet. Daniel got in the red carpet like my man's. I mean, that's the best advice you can give anyone, as far as just act like you're supposed to be somewhere, and more often than not, nobody's gonna question you because they're not thinking about you. They're not, you know, wondering who the heck this person is. But if you look uncomfortable, kind of look around like you're not supposed to be there, that's the red flag.
Then they feel like they got to come check you. I'm not good at it, like even you know, even when I first would get credential to like sporting events and whatnot, like basketball, football. UFL is different because it's it was more routine. I would be at every game it, you know, years ago before I did postgame, I would be at every single game from start to finish. H Now I can't do that because the
post came. But when I would go on the road to a game with a credential, it's new to me, and I just have this look on my face like I'm not supposed to be there, and you know, they check for my credential and I don't have like the lanyard they give me, just the one, the single game paper one, you know. Yeah, so like I got to pull it out of my back pocket. Like I get checked everywhere I go. But it's probably not because you know, they they just look at me and like, yeah, this guy knows he's not
supposed to be here. Let's get rid of him. But Daniel, our engineer, his I mean he was getting in everywhere Churchill downs. I mean to have to tag along with him. Now you wired up in the kitchen of a bear nose. I believe one time he did, that's right, Oh yeah, he uh he ran He ran ethernet cable like I mean, he was up there like Spider Man at this bear nose and like on the root, you know, in the roof. You know what I'm saying, Like, you know, pulling panels up and running wire. I mean he's
I mean, he's a hard worker. So he had I mean, how about that a one dollar wager. He didn't even know what he picked, He just picked. He deserves it and in nearly three grand in a payout, So shout out to him. All right, let's let's let's dive in, shall we again? I've said this each of the last two hours. Why I'd say once more, this is a day that should be a local holiday. I know we get Sunday to recover from the Derby, but there's so much that goes into Derby week. It's a party around here and a
lot of us do a lot of that partying. And I just think the Monday off, that extra day to really rest and reset, could go a long way. But you know, hadn't happened yet, so probably isn't going to happen. And maybe if they were going to do it, they could have said, you know, Derby one fifty, this is when we're going to make it a thing. We're going to encourage all businesses to let their employees have the day off after, you know, the Monday after Derby.
But again, we'll probably never do it. But hopefully everybody had themselves a good Derby weekend. The race couldn't have been better. If you take me obviously, if you had losers you bet on, or maybe you know your horse was the one that came in just behind the winner there, I mean Mysstic Dan narrowly getting the victory with Sierra Leone and Forever Young just right there. It would suck if you had, like a big wager that would have paid you a lot of money if it would have been one of those two
because you were that close. But if you can, and sometimes it's hard for people because they just they bet that bet and that's what they love about horse racing, like bettan on the ponies. Well, if you can look at it and view it for just the race itself and take away any wager you had, like it could not have been any better. And what's great is that it was the most watched Derby since nineteen eighty nine. I was just a year old that was that. In fact, I guess that was
my first Derby. I mean I don't remember it. I was again, you know, a baby, but yeah, it's the most watched Derby since nineteen eighty nine and twenty point one million people watched. And obviously you don't know the is gonna finish in that electrifying fashion. But there were that many people tuned in, and I bet a lot of people. I mean, if you're in certain states, you can't bet on horse racing, you don't have the ability to. I remember one of the legs of the Triple Crown.
I was in maybe Georgia years ago, and I was surprised I couldn't get out the Twins Spuyers app in bet because you know, you're not allowed to do that there. So there are a lot of people who tune in and watch but haven't bet, And if they just tune in to hope to
see an exciting race, they got exactly that. So Derby one fifty, by all accounts, seem like a big, big success for everybody involved in big shout out to Churchill Downs. You know, I know things are very expensive over there, and certain folks don't like that, and I get it, but you know, they still, I think, do a phenomenal job at putting on the biggest event that is offered in this state every year,
and it brings in people from across the planet. And I'm sure there's some that have made the trip to a Derby and decided they got it off the bucket. List they want to come back, but I can tell you there are many thousands of people actually that come every year from across the planet because they love everything about being at Churchill Downs, not just for the Derby, but maybe Derby week. Maybe they're there Thursday through Saturday. And I just
feel like that's cool. Again, as somebody who would never claimed to be a horse racing fan, I'm not, but you know, this is our event. I'd say most cities are size and certainly some that are much larger than us, they have, you know, their time to shine, their event, their moment where it's a big deal and there's a lot of eyeballs on said city because this big prestigious event. Well, that's clearly the Derby for us, and I feel like we execute and I mean I say we
like I had any roll in it. I had no, I mean I had nothing to do with it. But just feels like it was a good weekend for the for the for the city, no doubt about it. All. Right, let's uh, let's catch you guys up if you are just now joining us. We did talk a little bit about some early point spreads
that are out there with with DraftKings for college football. Louisville once again is favored in this Governor's Cup game, which my first and my first reaction is, it is really stupid to have a spread for a game that happens to be the twelfth game of the regular season and it's you know, it's May sixth. It's just impossible to know what the spread will be because you have no clue how good any of these teams are going to be at that point.
But hey, at least gives us something to talk about. And despite the game being in Lexington, Louisville is favored, and I don't know nationally, I would say just because like Brom is a coach that now, of course Kentucky fans can claim in Brom's first year, he won ten games and Louisville fans were on top of the world and Kentucky still got them. And if I was you meeting a Kentucky fan, I'd do the same thing, like, that's the ultimate bragging rights game for you, and it's the fifth
one you've had in a row. Now, Jeff Brom has nothing to do with the other four that you won. But still, like I get it, But I think objectively, like national folks would still look at Jeff Brom as a guy that's going to continue to keep Louisville as a you know, eight, nine, maybe ten win caliber team every now and then. And with Kentucky, you know, they're a solid team under Mark Stoops. And there's no way to say it without it being a backhanded compliment. But I
just think, I mean, Mark Stoops is viewed. But I think a lot of college football talking heads, right analysts, writers, Capital Jays, those that cover the sport have a big following and their opinion matters. And what I mean by that is, you know, people will say, what
the hell is this guy? Know, if they're saying something that's not favorable of their team, But if you're reacting to their opinion, and a lot of fan bases are, that means that, you know, it gets your attention because you feel as if their opinion, you know, holds weight. Those people think Mark Stoops is a really good coach, but they don't They can't point anything that he's done as far as, like, you know,
some major accomplishment. What gets Mark Stoops in those you know, top twenty five rankings they put together in the offseason best college football coaches is the fact that he has given Kentucky some sustained success in football, which honestly is something that nobody ever thought would happen, right, I mean, they won ten games twice. They were nine wins in the regular season, but their bowl
wins got them ten wins. And if you'd told me twenty years ago Kentucky FOOTBA would ever win ten games, I would have thought that Nick Saban was their coach because that would never happen. And he did that. So now you know they're not the bottom of the SEC, but you know they're still like, for example, their win total this year six and a half, and yes, a lot of that is to do with the fact they play
in a good league. So maybe I shouldn't be surprised that the early spread in this one has Louisville as a slight favor, because I still think Louisville is viewed like Louisville got the brand bump with Jeff Brom being their coach that they did not get with Scott Saderfield. Now, none of that means anything when it comes down to like actual results. Although clearly Brom gave you a ten win season in his first year here in Saderfield you know, got to
seven what twice? Maybe once actually, So I mean, you know, with all that said, like, I still think Louisville's going to get a different look with Brahm here than they did previously. I think that goes without saying. But point spreads for week twelve games is at this point in May is just it's kind of insane, but you know, it's at least at least it's something to reference as far as how someone views these two teams this year. Some other spreads, Louisville is a ten point dog against Notre Dame
and a nine and a half point dog against Clemson. Those were the only three games that there were already some spreads for. But real quickly, I can give you the win totals here for the local teams. According to to draft Kings, Louisville's win total is eight and a half. I could see that. I would I probably would have guessed eight, but eight and a half, you know, I'd say that's fair Kentucky. Any guests, John, I'm going to say eight and a half, six and a half.
Okay, that's the line, And it says here you know the under, So if you bet one hundred and thirty five to Yeah, it says here the unders bet one hundred thirty five dollars to one hundred hundred, while the over is to bet one hundred to win one fifteen. Uh, Indiana, any guests five and a half five. I'm hammering that. Oh yeah, we're hammering that. I mean, I know I'm a homer, but come
on, we're getting sigged up in Bloomington. Yeah, I mean, I happened to think that the guy you had coaching prior to uh, what's his name, Tom Allen already see Signette, he's already got me forgetting about Tom Allen. But that the guy in Home Improvement Tim, Yeah, like that's you the same, you know, Signetti. I just think he's going to be a much better coach than Tom Allen. And I know that hurts to
hear because I know you were a big fan of Tom Allen. He was believe it up, you know, just like Tom Crean, like it ran its course, and there was obviously a way, a way different course. He didn't win any big ten titles. Yeah, Tom Crean did, but like there was you know, there was mixed feelings with losing Tom Allen because he did take Indiana to places they hadn't been during a season that was kind
of seen as a fluke. It is it fair to say, and I promise we'll move on from indian A football in just a second, But isn't it fair to say that at the time that he completely fell off the cliff was actually the time where it felt as if, if anything, you just weren't going to suck again, right like you thought maybe he could get I feel like at the time they had that big run during the COVID year, and then the next year they had some expectation. I think, you know,
you felt like your floor had been roused. Oh absolutely, and then it actually turned out to where it was you all were terrible, right, Like wins and loss wise, it was too in ten Yeah, I mean like it went was bad. Yeah, it was in not to discredit that year because hey, it happened, but ever always for just the year before, they were eight and four the previous season, now there was two years of data to kind of think that things were going somewhere. They went eight
and four in the regular season. Yeah, I did not know that. So that gives it more of a I mean, that gives it more of like a life right to where it wasn't just one season. Yeah, it was getting to a bowl game, then getting to eight, then twenty twenty, that weird year where like, you know, god, that's such a blur that whole season. But and then it fell off a cliff and now
they've got signetti, all right. Uh So we still have a lot of folks asking about the transfer portal, and you know, I do want to clarify nobody, like people are aware I'm not hearing breaking news about guys in the portal or anything like that, But there are somebople that can't keep up with it as much as others because you know, they're busy throughout the day.
And I think it's been a very light news weekend really, and that carried over into Monday because I think right now we're just waiting to hear, waiting to figure out what happens with Great Osibor. He is obviously one of the best players in the portal right now. I mean, he's clearly one of the best available. But even when you consider everybody that's already made a decision, he is, he's up there. I mean, depending on where you look, some of him as a top five some have him as top
ten player. He visited Louisville and I heard nothing about the visit. Didn't hear anything bad, did anything good, Just didn't hear anything. And it sounds like that's just how it's going to be with him, right he went to Texas Tech. I don't know if that visit is ending today or tomorrow, but doesn't appear as if there's a whole lot coming out of that visit
either. Now he's gonna go visit Danny Sprinkle, his coach who just left Utah State to go to Washington, and if he ends up committing while at Washington, I'm gonna, I guess just be a sore loser here and claim this guy was a fraud and he was never going to transfer anywhere other than Washington. But that'll just that's just probably me being bitter. But it did
it. You know, it just kind of looked like that in a way that that's gonna be your last visit and these other visits between you know, Louisville, Kentucky and Texas Tech are just a way for Danny Sprinkle too. I guess let his nil people know, Hey, if you want me to bring my best player from Utah State with me. You're gonna need to cut the check because Kentucky, Louisville, and Texas Tech they all want him.
So we'll see. I mean, I know Louisville, and I say Louisville, I mean whoever we are I guess supposed to clarify as paying right because nil, it's not supposed to be the school and it's not supposed to be pay for play, but we all know that it is. But Louiell is prepared to make him, you know, a very very good offer when it comes to nil that would probably top any offer that he has elsewhere, not
to say others wouldn't be able to match it. But I don't believe that this will be a all right, well you could have had him, but you wouldn't pay now. Again, if he starts wanting two to three million, which is not I mean, that's just not realistic, then maybe it'd
be a different situation. But that's why I just am kind of thinking that in the end, like if they don't get him and he ends up playing for Danny Sprinkle, Like how I mean, how could I be mad at Pat Kelsey Because I would I would believe that this kid was always going to go play for his coach. He just wanted to go through the process. And in a way, it's really not there's nothing wrong with that, right,
Like, you got to look out for yourself. Nobody's going to look out for you more than you, and you have to do things to fluctuate your value. I mean, there are dudes who hit the portal that know they're not leaving, but they want it to be clear that if they did, there'd be a lot of options and there'd be money. So if you want me to stay, then then you know you now know what I'm worth because everybody else is willing to pay me this, so now you pay it.
So like that's just where we are now, right The players have all the power, and for guys like Osibor, who knows, I don't know what his pro potential is, but he's he's not a guy that I think would really fit with the way the NBA's played right now. I mean, he's not viewed to be a I mean he's not even going through the draft
process. So you know, he's a perfect example of somebody that is trying to make as much money as they can because there's a chance that maybe this will be the most money he ever makes playing as a basketball player, because as a pro he'll be playing you know, in you know, in Europe, and you can make a lot of money in Europe, I suppose.
But these guys, dudes who have proven who they are as college players, like a Hunter Dickinson like, and it's a little different because he was an National Player of the Year caliber guy at Michigan before he ended up at Kansas. But like, that is the top tier of the market, and those guys can make a lot of money, way more than most freshmen would make. And again it's money that if they just end up playing I mean eight years in the G League, which I don't know why you would do that.
You probably then move on to professional leagues and other countries to make more money. But I mean, if you just played in the G League and grinded it out on a G League contract, you can make more money in a year playing for a top program with nil than you'd make in six years combined in the G League. I'm not exaggerating. So we wait, and we wait impatiently. But I mean it's just because we're I can't speak for anybody but me, but I can sense the interest level that fans have for
Louisville basketball right now. It's new, it's Pat Kelsey. He's done a great job of getting us excited. But you know, you have a brand new team and and you've already got some really good pieces. But Osimor would be a really really good I mean probably be I mean as far as just the portal ranking and all that, he'd be the top rank guy you have.
I would say, I don't. I mean, I guess it wouldn't even be close, honestly, depending on where Terrence Edwards Junior was ranked, which, by the way, we'll talk about that because I think John, you and I have collectively determined who we view as being the leader the authority on ranking transfer portal classes. Right absolutely, so we'll talk about that. On the other side end, talk a little more about this Tom Brady roast on Netflix. Because I cannot wait to get home, get the kids to
bed. I mean, I'm not gonna put them to bed at six o'clock, but you know, once the kids are in bed and my wife and I can you know, relax and watch some TV. I'm gonna watch the rest of this Netflix roast of Tom Brady because I watched about thirty forty minutes of it and it was hilarious. But everybody's told me since the show started on the text line like, oh, stick around and watch the whole thing like it gets uncomfortable, which at times that's funny. But I don't think
I've never watched a roast until this, and it's something. So again, stick with us. We got about thirty minutes left right here on Sports Talk seven ninety. That's right, Coffee and Company fueled by Thornton Sierra on Sports Talk seven ninety, rolling along on a Monday. Appreciate you hanging out with us. Let's see here the transfer portal rankings that you find if you just go to Google. Actually, let's see who comes in first here. Let's
see who's SEO search engine optimization is the strongest basketball? Should I do? College basketball? College basketball team transfer portal rankings, That's what we're looking for, right, yes, enter first one that comes up is twenty four seven sports, so this is the best available players. But the team rankings are here. So we've got twenty four to seven on three CBS, the athletic and then ESPN has one. But I'm not sure if theirs are for let's
see, he's behind a paywall, I believe. Yeah. And no offense to Jeff Borzello. I know him from many, many many years ago, and he does a good job. But the Four Letter Network for having the I mean, they own everything worth owning in college basketball, I'm sorry. In college athletics outside of the NAA Tournament. I know there's other leagues that have affiliation with other networks, but I mean, like they, you know, they they have such a presence in how we consume a lot of college
athletics, but they give such little effort to covering recruiting. Like twenty four to seven and on three list ESPN as one of their competitors, right because they give you the composite rankings. They'll tell you what they think, meaning like rivals or on three has this guy as a four star. But you know, when we factor in the other services out there, the ESPNS, the you know, twenty four seven, at that point, you know it averages out to be this. I wouldn't include ESPN. They don't. They're
not a competitor to you. They don't. I mean, heck, if you go to like a recruiting page for a player, like their ESPN recruiting profile, not their player page when they're college basketball players. And I'm gonna nerd out a little bit on tech stuff with you guys. But when you look at it on your phone, it's not even responsive. And what I mean by that is it's like it's like you're looking at a desk top web page, you know how, on your phone. Now, when you go
to a website, it's clearly compressed to fit on your screen. John Theirs doesn't do that, like they That's how little they've ever cared to cover, Like, I mean, it's crazy. But anyways, will not include ESPN, but the one that is the ultimate authority on ranking transfer portal classes in college basketball, it's I don't know why it's not there, but it's actually a gentleman who goes by the name of Evan Mia cow that is, that's
that's his last name. But his website uh is, let's see here, Uh it is Evanmedia dot com, Evanmia dot com, Evan m i y a dot com. He is. I mean, this is a guy who is a college basketball analytics scientist. He has a PhD uh in in statistician
data science. I mean this guy's been. He's worked for ESPN, CBS, the Athletic and he has his own analytics for basketball that are followed by a lot of college basketball nerds like myself and coaches like He's not Ken Palm, but he's something similar to where his analytics are value to a level where I'm pretty sure he makes a living selling his his you know, premium stuff to coaches who you know now understand analytics are very important. So, uh,
he has uh the top ten rankings. He actually has more than just the top ten, but the top teams currently in the overall transfer portal activity. This and by the way, I'm clearly having fun with it, acting as if this guy has it right, because I'm about to tell you that he thinks Louisville's class is really really good. But he has Indiana at number one, Louisville number two, Missouri number three, Michigan number four, Kentucky
number five. So, in all seriousness, let's say he didn't have Louisville even ranked in his top ten, you know, with his analytics, I would still tell you the way he's doing it is how it should be done, and that is looking at what you lost in the portal and what you
gain. I think that's the simplest and most effective way to view how a team has done in the portal, because if you lose eighteen players and all of them are three stars and guys who were leaving because they could not play at that level, but then you add five guys who are really good players that everybody wanted that are four or five stars in the portal, you should
not be counted. It shouldn't count against you that you lost a bunch of players that, like, in the end, now that they've played, they've been in part of college basketball or football for that long, like, they're not like they're probably not ranked as high as they were coming out of high
school. So sometimes just the volume right of how many, Like for example, if you go look at twenty four to seven sports recruiting rankings, more often than not, if you just have a bunch of players, let's say you got eighteen commits and their average amount of commits for everybody else in football is like nine, you're going to be really highly ranked just because of how
many you have. So I think if you just evaluated, like you know, basketball, it's easier to do because there's not as many players, but like last year in football, in fact, the last two years in football for Jeff Brom, I mean, the first portal class he put together was you know, he hadn't coached a game yet. But the reason I think it was on three had them ranked so highs because they did it that way.
Right, they're looking at what you lost and what you added and brown the last two years, the guys they've lost, even some that we still wish would have played here longer, right, Like I think losing Kevin Coleman to Mississippi State, I think that guy's a good player. Even a Maury Huggins Bruce who transferred to I believe South Carolina a good player. But the guys that Brom brought in to replace those guys are are, you know,
ranked higher, So therefore you got better with that transaction. So I just think that's how it should be done. And I would be saying that if even if that was a scenario, that meant Louisville wouldn't be ranked high.
But right now Louisville has lost They've got nine players in the portal that are transfers in, so they've added nine players and they've got nine that have that have left that have moved on. So three five stars currently and six four stars, so that is how they're I don't know how they would be ten, but it says yeah, so yeah, So let's see here. What are you helped me out here? John, You've got the brain. You
got the big brain here on the show. If it says transfers in and transfers out, transfers in would mean guys that are transferring to play for you. Transfers out would mean guys that are leaving. Yes, So okay, here we go. I had the number wrong. I'm sorry. So Louisville has five ye three players that have transferred in are five stars. That is Hepburn, Terrence Edwards Junior, and I think the other one actually might be might be Trey Orr from Long Beach State. Doesn't show me that, but
the rest of them are viewed as four stars in the portal. As far as the guys you lost, you have no five stars that were leaving, which I got to be honest with you. I thought Louisville, I thought Brandon Hoily half it will be ranked higher than he was, but he's not. Somebody. But that's just me not realizing that. Like Louisville was so bad that like, there's not going to be a whole lot of love for
any of those players, to be honest with you. So the four stars that they lost, four four stars out of the portal, which I guess that would be like Mike James, Huntley Hatfield, probably Sky Clark and try Ray White. But then all the other guys that left were not I mean again two of them, Uh, Danilo Gavanovitch, he ended up at Milwaukee. Caleb Glenn, who I like, he's at fau JJ trainor is at DePaul. Actually he's actually still in Louisville, but he's going to de Paul,
So I mean Louisville again. The bar next year is not to just be better than than like Kenny Payne. We know that, but for what it's worth, like the guys that you've added, I mean are better than most of the players that you lost. And I mean, I still don't think last year's team was as bad as they were because of talent or inability. But anyways, uh, Indiana they have and this is Indiana's they lost.
Looks like, let's see, they lost three guys, only three, yes, and let's see, I bet they were all three maybe four, No, no, they're all three here. So and then the guys that you've added, one is a five star, which is clearly bollow and then the three are four stars. So I mean again like Mike Woodson, the guys that left, nobody's crying about and nearly every guy you've added a lot
of schools wanted. So with Kentucky there, I'll give him. Their numbers are going to be a little bit skewed, right because it's just not realistic to expect any of those guys to stay and play for Mark Pope. But because Kentucky was a three c last year, and you know, because some of their players are I mean like Aaron Bradshaw. I don't think he did much of anything, but like he's probably someone that is going to be viewed as a big loss for them. Yeah, so Kentucky's lost. Let's see.
I guess it is only four if you think about it, because a lot of the guys are going pro or graduating, right, like uh Reeves and Mitchell, Like those are guys that are just graduating. Sheppard and Dillingham and Justin Edwards are going pro. So I guess they're transfers. Out, it's big z de one or not to Wan'm DJ Wagner, Aaron Bradshaw and Thierro right, I think that would be it. And yeah, Ugo for
some reason, he's not mentioned in here. I don't know why, but yeah, I mean, and the guys that they've added right now, I mean they have Kentucky has let's see, four five stars in which is good. I mean that's that's I mean again, that's one more than Louisville, and they have landed some pretty good players. But because of the guys that are out, you know, with two of them being four stars, that's why they're not viewed as like they're not ranked as high. But then again,
like this is this is actually a ranking that actually value. I mean, Louisville, Indian, and Kentucky are all in the top five. And I think you can look at it and understand like, Okay, they're looking at Wagner and Bradshaw as a big loss for us, but like, if you're a Kentucky fan, deep down, you know you probably brought in multiple guys that can give you exactly what both those guys gave you last year, and we're probably going to give you this year. How don't need to pick
on those two. But man, I spent a lot of time here and and talking about those two guys specifically because they were two of the best freshmen or they were the two of the best recruits in the country, and you know, Kentucky and Lowell both wanted them and Kentucky got them. And talk about underwhelming. I mean, Bradshaw was injured, didn't play a lot, and now he's gonna get a fresh start, I guess at Ohio State. But it would not shock me if DJ Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw just end up
being mid college players for the next couple of years. I mean, and you know that there's nothing there's I mean, it could be a lot worse than that, right, You could be like not playing or something like that. You could be terrible. But man, there was just so much hype about those two guys specifically. And it wasn't just because of the connection here with Camden, New Jersey and Purvis and Milton obviously, you know Cal and the Wagner family. I mean, that's what made it more of an interesting
thing for us around here. But they were also two of the five I mean, they were five star players. I mean, at one point, Wagner was number three, and I think Bradshaw was number one in the country in some of these rankings. But I mean, DJ Wagner, you think he ends up at USC Yeah, and not really that's not based on anything other than the fact of what you already mentioned earlier, with it being a Nike school, and and you may have Brownie James potentially back, he would
have already he would have already you know, committed to CALA. I feel like, so, you know, I I wouldn't be shocked if he's you know, a career, you know, I mean, the kind of numbers he put up this past year. Maybe it's because the two guards that played a lot of minutes were like really really good, which they were. Dealingham and Shepard were sensational players. Both guys are going to have long NBA careers.
Like maybe that's why Wagner just kind of seemed very very average. But I mean, those are two guys, in my like in the NBA. What are they bringing to the table in the NBA that like is a skill set that is valued. I mean Bradshaw's like I guess, athletic, but like I mean no polish, no physicality, doesn't shoot it that well. And then DJ, I mean, he's not quick enough, doesn't play above the rim, doesn't run your team, and he's not a good enough shooter.
So I don't know, I just it's just wild how there was so much anticipation about where those guys, especially DJ, we're gonna end up going to school. And like I think, in the end, they'll be very easily for they'll be very easy to forget, those guys down the lines. All right, we got to take our last break. We'll come back here on the other side. Wrap things up, keep a lock right here on Sports Talk seven to ninety. That's right, Coffee and Company, wrapping things
up here on a Monday afternoon. Let me tell you, guys once again about the phenomenal folks over at Eland and Eland. I'm sure you're familiar with them because they've been a full service residential real estate brokerage here in the Kentucky and area for many years. In fact, they've been doing this since nineteen
seventy six. Check him out online at Eland dot com, or you can give film off at a call at five two five twenty eight hundred and again, I know you are well aware of who they are, but maybe you didn't know the reason they've got so much buzz here lately. I mean again, when you've been doing it as long as they have, providing great service, especially when it's something that at least I have always considered to be such a hassle, the process that is buying a house and putting years up for
sale. But they help you throughout that process. But they're also going to list your home for just one percent, right. They also have the one percent buyer's rebate. These are things that are going to help you save a lot of money throughout this process. And once you go with them the first time, if there is another time where you buy and sell a house because you're moving, I feel confident in saying you're gonna go with Eatlin and Eland once again. So again it's Eland dot com, E D E L E
N dot com. The website five two five eight hundred. All right, not much time left here before we wrap it up. But uh so let's see here the uh somebody's asked me a good question here and I tried to scramble to see if I could get it, if I could get a uh some kind of an update here for you just by you know, searching all over the internet and social media. But two people have said that there was at one point, like a date that Great Osibor was was expected to make
some kind of a decision. I don't remember ever seeing that, but like maybe that maybe he had always planned on making a decision, you know, right after his Washington visit, which I believe is supposed to happen here in the next day or so. But you know, obviously, the sooner we hear something, the sooner will all calm down and either be excited or realize we got to shift our attention elsewhere because you know he's gonna end up at
Washington or Texas Tech maybe. But again, just because it's quiet, I know it makes people worry, but it doesn't necessarily mean anything, right, It could just mean that the process is playing out, and we were a little spoiled with how quickly it all came together with a lot of these players that have committed to play for Pat Kelsey. But with obour we're gonna have to wait a little bit longer. All right, We're out a time. See tomorrow right here on four stok seven to ninety
