It's time for coffee and company, fueled by Thornton's on Sports Talk seven to nine day. Now Here's Nick Coffee. So the results are a little mixed here on the on the text line, John, some say, how in the hell could he not know who Bobby Brown is? Some say, why the hell? What do he know who Bobby Brown is? And you know, for those wondering why the hell, we're starting the five o'clock hour with
that. So we've continued to take a look at this, this star studded celebrity guest list that is going to be attending the annual Barnstable Brown Gala. And is it Gayla Gala? I don't know. I've heard any I think it's Gayla right or no? Is it Gala? I don't know. I would say, let's go with game. I'm just gonna call it the barn Stable Party. There we go. I like that. And there's a lot
of celebrities that have our SVP that are on this long list. And some of them are names that everybody knows, like Aaron Rodgers, Jack Harlowe, and then there are other names that I didn't know, John didn't know. And then there's some names that has there been a name you knew that I didn't not yet. Do you think there's anybody on there that might fit that big? I think there could be some, okay, but Bobby Brown was
the latest that John was not familiar with. And you know, it wouldn't even It wasn't even as if once I started telling you, like, if I'd have said Whitney Houston's husband, you would have never been a yeah. And they weren't married at the time she passed away, least I don't think they were. But that's kind of what he's known for, is he was a musician, and he was had a lot of legal trouble and was married
with Whitney Houston, and that's what I know of him as. But anyways, we'll continue to do that over these next couple of days, and I'm thinking about doing something. If I had a little if I was here more than just the next you know, the rest of the show today and tomorrow,
I would have done this. But I would love to start a It's probably more of a of a Twitter thing, and we could also use the text line, and but I'd like to I'd like to hear the most random celebrity you've seen at Derby that is, and I don't mean just like, give me example, the Red Carpet. The first or second year that I was working Derby, I was going near the red carpet to drop off some equipment that somebody needed to interview people. But I wasn't allowed. I didn't
have access to that, you know, my credential didn't include that. So once I moved away from the uh from the Red carpet and was heading towards back towards the paddock, I mean, there's you know, you can barely move, it's that crowded, and there there was there was Jeff Bridges just
walking. I mean, he didn't come in through the red carpet and he just walked in the main entrance and was just walking around with one other person and it was so clearly him, but yet he was just among everybody else that everybody was like, there's no way that could be him, and it was. And he's like super famous, so you know, that was pretty
cool to see. But then in the same instance, maybe not ninety seconds later, I'm kind of waiting to get around because it's really crowded, and there's this dude that you know, I guess he he looked I mean, I didn't know who he was, but he had not an entourage, but like a couple of couple of guys with him, like celebrity or like security
with him, you know. But he wasn't attracting a big crowd. It was just quite clear that he, you know, looked like he felt like he was very important and famous, and he had people that were like, you know, arms crossed, as if like there their security for him, and I wasn't. I don't get I didn't know who he was, and
I was kind of just trying to maneuver through. And uh, I don't remember his name, but he was a see list soap opera guy, like I wouldn't even call him a star, like he was on a soap opera. And whatever the guy's name was, let's just say his name was, you know, Joe Blow. The one of the security guys. By the
way, it was like my size, like real intimidating security guy. It was like, hey, Joe Blow needs some space, and I'm talking around, like who, And then I realized he's talking about this dude, and I'm like, okay, you you can have your space. I'm just trying to get by buddy, and that that was you know, that was that
was something. And also I didn't see this, but Mark saying Chess former quarterback of the I remember him for the Jets and the butt fumble, and of course, you know, I'm pretty sure he's the last and he was the quarterback of the Jets the last time Peyton played for my colts, which makes me very sad. But he'd been out of the league, like he hadn't played in the league since twenty eighteen, and at that point I think
he was just like a practice squad guy. But if you know, post playing career, he showed up with like twenty security people everywhere he went, and everybody was like, dude, like it's not necessary, man, Like it's not needed. You're not in danger, Like you're not going to be mobbed by people, bro, Like yeah, the secret stuff. I mean. At the same time, Aaron Rodgers just you know, mingling among everybody kind of so, I mean not really, but in that area, Like
that's the thing. If you get up to that prestigious area where you know, the millionaires hang out, and I'm not talking about the manch I'm talking about you know, just up there in the you know, I don't even This is how poor I am. I don't even know what it's called, because they would never let me up there without my credit millionaires row Maybe again,
I'm not kidding you, I'd have no clue what it's called. But you know where you see Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers and other celebrities that you know come every year, and you know they're just you know, when you're in that you're in that area, you have a ticket, like you're gonna be around them. I mean, you probably can't just run up to them. I'm sure they have some level of security. But you know, I
would say Rogers and I remember somebody telling me this about Sanchez. You know, he had literally twenty people nearly around him at all times, which was just excessive and ridiculous, hilarious actually, And yet you know the amount of people that were with not even just like security, but just people. You know, the entourage that was with Rogers and Brady and those guys. I mean, you know, Sanchez had more with himself than those guys had combined.
So let me throw that up on Twitter later to see who's the most random person you've seen in Louisville at the Derby or just in Louisville in general for Derby that you know, maybe not somebody that's like not super famous, because it's one thing to run into somebody super famous and you're like, wow, they're here for Derby, Like you see me at the airport. But I'm thinking, like somebody you're like, wait a second, is that the guy who was in that movie I watched when I was a kid? Like
something like that To me, I just think that's funny. Another uh, another this was last year. I forgot about this. My mind's just racing thinking about just some of the things that stand out from my years covering the Derby. And you know, in a very low level, I'm just the guy who walks around. Hey, it's just your favorite Derby you've been to. I mean, like, you know, if they were to give a job description for you know that, it would be be really corny and have
people talk to you and and you know, talk about the Derby. But anyways, uh, it's all inclusive. So everybody, you know, you know, you just get in a line and get drinks at either a bar or somebody's carrying around the big you know, the beer man carrying carrying around
the big tub of beer. Mark Ingram, former running back for UH, for Alabama and of course the Saints, but I remember mostly for his time with UH when Lamorrow when his first heisman or a heisman, first MVP with the with the Raven, and Ingram was there was their key running back and if you know, remember he would he really would gass up Lamar every chance he got, and was you know, it was it was cool to see, well, you know, he's just kind of mingling among everybody else.
And here's here's what I've seen happen. There'll be a couple of people who kind of noticed that that's somebody famous, but they can't think of who it is. And then like collectively, everybody realizes and they either swarm them or just say, hey, you're Mark mark Ingram. And that's what it happened. And within like fifteen seconds, like everybody around, oh, that is mark Ingram ay. And then you know, people came over for pictures and he was nice and then he you know, this is very this is a
very like corny joke, I suppose, but it worked. At least it worked for me and everybody else around. We thought it was funny. It's like, hey, I got this round, guys, you get it like it's all inclusive, like the drinks already paid for. Like that was this way of like, you know, being fine. I thought that was funny. So that is probably one of my favorite parts, is you you're gonna run into people that you like. You know, I forgot about that guy.
He was in full house or something like that. So anyways, let's uh, let's pick up where we left off. It's been a busy show thus far as we continue to try to track the transfer portal as these rosters for Pat Kelsey and Mark Pope are slowly but surely coming together. For Kentucky, day landed a commitment earlier today, I was gonna say, Ingram, that's mark Ingram. The guy I was just talking about. The commitment that Kentucky landed from from Oklahoma State is Brandon Garrison. Is that right? That
sounds right? Yeah? Brandon Garrison, a six to eleven big who played one season at Oklahoma State, was a McDonald's All American in twenty twenty three. Was productive as a freshman, a guy who clearly still you know, developing. Averaged about seven points and five boards a game in twenty minutes or
so roughly, and it's a good addition. I mean, this is a guy who clearly has the you know, the upside and showed flashes of it as a freshman in the Big Twelve, and now he's going to be probably i'd say, one of the key interior players for Mark Pope at Andrew Carr, who committed on Sunday. I mean they've added a couple of interior players to go along with a Mario Williams who was the first player to commit to Mark Pope. So that has led to a lot of people thinking, great
Osibor, who's visiting Lexington as we speak. I don't know, maybe the visit's wrapped up, but it just seems unlikely that he would end up at Kentucky with them adding another big guy today and one two days ago. But you never know, you never know. So Louisville fans are all in as much as you can be as a fan, right Like, we're not the ones that are going to be wanting and donning mister Osibor, and we'll have no involvement in the visit. But this is a guy that's going to be
making his trip to Louisville during derby week. He's going to be here, I believe Tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday. I think that was the dates that were initially listed of his visit. So the belief is he's going to visit every school that he's listed, which is Kentucky, Louisville, Texas Tech,
in Washington. So if he doesn't make a decision after he leaves Louisville, I don't think that means that they've failed, because it sounds as if he's dead that on taking visits to every single one of these schools and then
making a decision. But it would be a big addition, no doubt, and Louisville I think appears to be I mean, going into the recruitment here once we realized that Louisville was going to be getting a visit, and then we realized Washington, which was the expectation because Danny Sprinkle, his coach at
Utah State, took the job at Washington, Texas Tech. I'm not really sure where they come in, but if it's true what Jeff Goodman said, because that's another thing I failed to mention, but one of the reasons why Louisville fans really felt like okay here we go, we got a real shot
at getting this guy because Kentucky's out of the picture. It wasn't just because they took the commitment from Garrison. It was also because Jeff Goodman responded to a tweet that asked about Osibor in Kentucky and he said, Kentucky's out for Osabor. So he's not that I've seen elaborated on that, but that would make sense. I mean, it's just odd to see it being reported that he's no, that he's out when he's visiting at that exact same time.
But it's also odd for them to land to land a commitment from a bit man while he's visiting too. And I don't know if Garrison was visiting as well. I really don't know. I mean, that's a guy who committed that I wasn't super familiar with, to be honest with you, I remember him from being a McDonald's All American, but I didn't even know Kentucky was involved. So I believe that if you were able to add oh Sibor,
that would give you a core that you should feel pretty good about. Not to say that, you know, you should start making reservations at hotels in San Antonio because louiell is going to be going to the final four. Trust me, I'm not saying that. But I already really liked the pieces that you've added. But I think Hepburn, who was your latest commitment, and then potentially osib Or if that happens to me, that would be that would give you a big two. Not to say that those would be your guys.
They're gonna legion in scoring every night. But I don't know, I just with that, I can't even really put into words as to why it would seem like such a big addition. But I mean, he's one of the best players in the portal. We know that Chucky Hepburn, depending on where you look, as one of the best guards that hit the portal. So you throw in other you know, I say throw in as if they're not our I mean they're there. We don't have to throw them in.
They're already in the mix. That's Terrence Edwards, Junior Trey Or from Long Beach State, Hadley who is a mister do it all from Colorado, Coran Johnson, a really smooth combo guard. I mean, I think you'd have to be pretty pleased with with with the core of the team, and there's still some other pieces that you can go get. So I don't think we're gonna get any decision anytime soon. But the visit will start probably tomorrow or
maybe the next day, and it's Pat Kelsey's time to shine. I'm not gonna put pressure on him as if you know, he better go get this guy. But I mean, I feel like this is where he'll thrive, right. I mean, there's no better week to host a big time recruit than during the freaking Kentucky Derby week. I mean, it's it couldn't set
up any better. So this is one where there's a lot of anticipation because of how big it would be. But we should just go ahead and try to be as patient as possible because it sounds as if no matter how good his visit goes, he's going to still visit other schools and we just have to wait and see. Another name I wanted to bring up once again is been. I say his name different every time I think Humberkows, the former NAI player who transferred to Evansville last year and had a really good year in
his debut season at the Division one level. I mean, he averaged fourteen and a half points, four, four and a half rebound, shot forty eight percent from the field, forty one percent from three, a stretch for really good shooter. And he visited Louisville and then committed to Illinois, And I do believe he did commit, Like I don't think it's fake news, but he has not publicly acknowledged the commitment on any of his social media pages,
which doesn't mean it's not real. And I do believe it is real. But Louisville is still actively recruiting him and they believe that they have a chance to get him. So I'd say it's like the softest commitment maybe ever. And I've since been told since the show started that it could be a transfer credit kind of thing at Illinois. You got to keep in mind this
guy only played at Evansville one year. Prior to that, he was at Huntington University in Indiana, which is in NAI school, So you know, it could be a situation to where he's doing what a lot of these guys are doing, bouncing around from school to school. This will be his third school in three years. Rather it be Indiana or not Indiana, but Illinois or somewhere else, and you know that could make it to where, you know, from like a credit standpoint, it's just not it's not compatible.
You can't do it because you've got to be transferring towards your degree. And you know that pit stop from Huntington to Evansville could have made it to where maybe there's only certain schools he could transfer to, and you know, you never I mean, this is Huntington University is in let's see in Huntington, Indiana, which makes total sense. It is a a small private looks like
a liberal arts school. So again, I don't know if that makes it even more difficult, but it wouldn't shock me if that, you know, that type of school, private school could make it even more difficult for you know, it to work out as far as transferring credits and that kind of stuff. Another name to throw out there, Kobe Brea the date and transfer. He is currently visiting Kentucky or maybe his visits wrapped up. He's been there I think for a couple of days. Maybe I'm not sure, but
all signs point to Kentucky being the school that will land him. He's a really good shooter, one of the best players available in the portal he'll get a lot of three point shots, and I would imagine that's what he's probably seeking, right money, of course they all are, but also a role where he can you know, he's gonna get good looks, and I think it would be a good fit. And I would be shocked if he doesn't commit to Kentucky because right now there doesn't appear to be any other schools that
are that are you know, in the mix. Not to say that you know, nobody else wants him, but he had five schools that he listed when he first hit the portal and started talking to schools, and he was going to visit all these schools, and then things kind of fell apart. It was Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, Carolina in Yukon. He visited Yukon, did not make the trip to Duke because I believe of a transfer issue, and then he ended up going to Actually what he did was he was
only going to consider two schools, Yukon and Duke. Well, things fell apart of Duke. He visited Yukon, Yukon took the kid from Saint Mary's that had also visited Kentucky. So again it just it looks as if all signs point to him being at Kentucky next year, but I guess he's not made a decision just yet. All Right, We've got some people chiming in about random celebrities they've seen at Churchill Downs for Derby or just I guess in
town. You know, because it's Derby. Right, They're not randomly here for any other reason. They're here because it's Derby and you're not going to Derby. But you saw him, I don't know, at a restaurant or at them or something. This person says Polly Shore. That would be a that's a really good one. By the way, Like Polly Shore is like the ultimate random, like the Poly Shore. You're damn right, it is poly Shore. This This person on the text line says, Avery Johnson,
that's really random. But Avery Johnson, I believe I could be wrong here. He's been to every Kentucky Derby for like thirty years, and he's like he's he's he's known enough as a basketball player, right, he played for the Spurs. Talks like a you know talk. I mean you ever heard Avery Johnson talk? Yeah, Avery Jack, Yeah, I mean it's it's a very very good. No, that was actually decent just off the cuff right there. That's not a bad Avery Johnson. John don't sell yourself short.
You work on that a little bit, you could be the ultimate Avery Johnson impressionist. I don't think you'll have a lot of competition for that role, so you might as well, you know, make it a priority, you know, make put that in your bag, right, Like, hey, what do you do as a party trick? Well, have you ever heard of Avery Johnson? I sound just like him, be a big hit
at the parties. But yeah, he's he's been at like every derby so and he's he's he's perfectly random because he coached in the NBA, he coached in college, he played for the Spurs and won a championship with Tim Duncan and David Robinson. But if you're not like a big basketball junkie, you would never know who he is. You You wouldn't mean he wouldn't stand out as somebody that's like, you know, a guy who won a national champion, who won an NBA title. Some of you are mentioning names. I
don't know. I'll have to look those up and see. And it could be perfect, to be honest with you, right, it could be It could be the point where like, yeah, that's that's absolutely what I'm looking for, and I would have never known who they were without you know, seeing their face or looking them up. All right, here's what we need to do. We need to get one of our Derby profiles played for you guys. Try to get as many as the as many of these in as
we can. Jody Dimmling, who does a great job, you know, covering the Derby for a variety of folks including us here at our Heart Louisville. He profiles each of the horses that are running every year in the Derby. And we've played a handful of them thus far, and now we've got another one. Who's next? John Society Man, Society Man. Let's hear it now, look at the Kentucky Derby field one by one, Society Man. If you had Society Man in the Wood Memorial, you were a happy
camper. The chestnut son of Good Magic finished a closing second at one hundred and six to one odds behind Resilience in the Wood Memorial, trained by Louisvillion Danny Gargan, owned by west Paces Racing in GMP stables. Society Man will be written by Hall of Famer the Flying Frenchman Frankie Dettori. The long shot is one one and one in five career starts. He'll be a long shot also in the Kentucky Derby. But Gargan believes he fits with this field prior.
He's more of the fighter type. He's the little stocky guy that just wants to fight every day. And I gave him one more chance to see if he can get it, you know, show up and prove what I've been thinking about. Then we got lucky, and I thought he ran a tremendous race in the Wood. I get lucky. You know, sometimes you have to take a chance to get lucky, put yourself in the situation,
and we got lucky. Society Man finished seventh, third, and eighth in his first three races, that third race being the Grade three Withers Stakes on February third at aqueduc He then broke his maiden on March twenty fourth at Aqueduct before being put in the Wood Memorial, where he raced three and four wide but still rallied in the end to finish second and pick up the needed Derby
points. Society Man is looking to become the first gelding to win the Kentucky Derby since another long shot did it mine that bird back in two thousand and nine, and he's looking to give trainer Danny Gargan a victory in his hometown. Gargan's father, Danny Senior, won the nineteen seventy three Kentucky Oaks as a jockey a board bag of tunes. Gargan grew up not far from the gates of Churchill Downs, and winning the derby with Society Man would be a
dream come true. John, and I once again have to I've got to keep it real and and and mention some issues with the iPhone. Oh really, yeah, So, I mean I haven't had this issue myself, but I know others have. My wife has. So apparently the iPhone could be the culprit in you oversleeping. So there is a an issue here that appears
to be tied to a hidden setting called attention aware. And you know, there's a good chance that a lot of people oversleep and just don't remember hitting snooze, or like maybe they just tell themselves they don't remember because they know they just you know, didn't have it in them to actually get out of bed. But yeah, it says if you've missed your alarm late late lately, it may not be your fault. So dozens of people on social media
have gone viral in recent weeks. This has been a big TikTok thing where they're pointing out an iPhone bug that causes a arms to go nearly silent. And there's one TikTok video specifically that has nine million views. And this is because somebody you know took to TikTok after being very upset because they woke up hours after an initial five to ten minute alarm had been set. So apparently, if you have yeah says here, it's happening with iPhone fifteen. And
the bug appears to have existed for a while now. So a Reddit user has noted a similar bug that it appeared two years ago that caused them a lot of problems, and the again it's called attention aware. I've never heard of this, but yes, since the issue here appears to be tied to a hidden setting called attention aware, a feature where your iPhone checks whether you're
paying attention to your screen. When your phone detects that you are looking at your screen, it will it will not dim the display and it will lower the volume on your alerts. Apple has not publicly addressed the bug. Representatives for the company did not immediately respond when asked for a comment. This is from It looks like the associated press here, but it says that what you
can do to turn the feature off its head of the settings app. Tap the face out, E and pass code section of your settings app, click the toggle to off on attention to where features and that'll make it to where it doesn't, you know, make it I guess what it does that So this actually is exactly what has has happened to my wife, you know, because she sets her alarm and like a lot of people, and I'm I'm I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I
don't I don't need an alarm. I don't set alarms because I don't sleep that well. Uh And usually my wife has to get up, mean, she has to get up early than I do, but not that much. So but I guess I'm turning into that person that just can't sleep past a certain time because I now kind of wake up on my own right after she's already woke up and gone and taken a shower. So maybe she does something that wakes me up. I'm not sure, but like I'm now programmed to
wake up at like the exact same time. But there's times where she'll say, in fact, maybe it is her that wakes me up, because usually all wake up, see what time it is, and look over her like, hey, what are you doing? And she'll oversleep and it and sometimes her alarm has been going off, but it's like super quiet, Like that's exactly what they just described. There's something on your phone that just makes it to where you know it'll it'll keep. They won't think that you'll need the
loud sound to alert you. They think you're looking at your phone, so therefore the alert is more gonna be a visual thing. So yeah, that that that would make a little sense as to how that happens. Makes sense. If you have daytime alarms, Yeah, what time do you get up? Usually during the week, I know you have a morning gig that. Yeah, I'm usually up around seven. Is it an alarm or is it just natural alarms? From both me and my wife? It's usually pretty loud.
So one of the things that I've always heard people because I the best thing that ever happened to me as far as like being able to like program myself to get up and not do the snooze and not do the like five more minutes, ten more minutes is whenever I work mornings, because you know, I woke up every morning rushed, because I mean I still have that feeling to this day, to where like, oh crap, I got a three hour show to do? What the hell am I going to talk about?
Like there's still a level of like worry each day for me that like, man, I really hope, you know, and as corny as it sounds, I love that I still have that because you know, I want to make sure I do the best I can every single day. But you know, there's a little bit of a panic for me every day for usually just like a millisecond about like oh do I have enough time to get ready? I got I gotta make sure this is you know, this could be
my last show, you never know, right in radio. But in the mornings, like I would jump out of bed because I would make I want to make sure I was here as early as I could be to make sure I could get ready and you know do the show. So doing that for four years or so, I think it's I think that's how long I did the morning show. That kind of changed my routine for a while. And now like I can't really sleep in like if I tried, like if on the weekends, if I wanted to sleep in, you know till my kids
got up or something, I wouldn't be able to do it. Like I'll unless I'm like super hungover, I'm not going to sleep in past probably like nine. That's a blessing to me, especially for the weekends. See, yeah, like I I'm to the point now where like some people's like, man, I couldn't sleep in, well, I is sleeping in ever like
been it? Look? Trust me, I get it. Like being like knowing you don't have to get up the next day is a great way to go to bed, right, like just the ultimate Like I don't you know, I'm just you know, who cares what time I fall asleep Because I don't have nothing to do tomorrow, I don't get up. But also like as an adult, I feel like if I was to unexpectedly sleep till like eleven o'clock, I would be pissed when I got up because I would have
felt like I wasted time. Yes, the time am I don't know if that'll I don't know if that'll fade eventually, but yeah, I'm just like and for some reason, like mornings, like being productive in the morning is like is like a drug to me, Like it's there's nothing that makes me feel better in the morning than like being up and at it, getting after
it. So but he was what I was getting at. As far as the alarms, those who say, well, you got to set your alarm like on the other side of the room so you actually get out of bed, does that really work for people? Because my ass would just go back to bed. I would go get the alarm and or my phone and turn it off and get my fat ass back in bed and just go to sleep
like it wouldn't you know? That doesn't do much for me. I've never tried that, but I've I've been told to give it a shot on days whenever I hit the snooze button a few times extra that makes sense, But I feel like I do the same thing, like I get up to use the bathroom sometimes in the middle of the night. It doesn't stop me from going back to bed. Obviously. One thing that I tell myself like every day, like why why didn't you just get up when you got up and
there's no good reason. But I'll wake up at five fifteen or five thirty to use the restroom or you know, it doesn't hapen anymore because's getting a little bit older. But when when my son was younger, he would wake up and need a bottle or change a diaper, and you know, it would be routine to wake up every few hours to do that kind of stuff. But now I'll wake up and like I'm wide awake. I'm not tired.
I feel like I got a good night's sleep, but yet I just feel like, well I need to I need to roll over and go back to bed because it's not time to get up yet. Like that makes me feel like a like a lazy pos because I'm like, you know, just get up and start your day, be productive, Like I feel lazy when I do that. Did you have a tough time getting up when you were a kid, like before steel and stuff. Maybe maybe as a younger kid, yes, But like once I got into high school, I was pretty
good about getting up on time and that kind of thing. I think that the most tired I've ever been in my life is in the mornings. When I was a kid. I don't know why. I mean, I got plenty of sleep, but I just could not wake up. Like I would fall asleep, like in the shower as a kid in the teen as a teenager, like oh yeah, I was. I mean I would. I would go into the bathroom and you know, use the restroom like everybody does when they get up, and I would like turn the shower on and like
sit down and fall back asleep. My sister would come in there banging on the door. What are you doing in there? I fell asleep. So my kids are like that now too. Like today was different. Mace woke up and he was ready to go because and then we were going to Churchill Downs. He was excited. But now, you know, my morning duty. While my wife gets up and gets ready for work, I wake up, get as much stuff done as I can, you know, for my day not much, and then I get the kids up, take them to
daycare in school. But now like it's a it's a task to get them out of bed, like they don't want to get up and they're cranky. You know. We once we like leave leave the neighborhood and we hit like the main road. That's when like they're kind of they're coming to if you know what I mean, Like they're kind of waking up out of of the deep sleep. But it reminds me when I was a kid and I was
just always tired, grumpy. I mean, heck, even even in school, like the first two classes of the day, like I was just a zombie. I don't really know why I did. I mean, I stayed up probably later than my mom wanted to me too, but it wasn't like I was up till like three in the morning like I would get if I if this is just me as an anxious person that has anxiety at a at you know, a higher level than I should have. If I'm up and it's a little bit past my bedtime and I'm not tired, my mind will
race, what are you doing? You're not to sleep, You're gonna pay for it tomorrow. What are you doing better? And then you know when that happens, you can't fall asleep, you know what I mean. I actually have one of those nights last night. That's that's why, that's why I didn't fall asleep till about one in the morning. I heavily medicate myself in order to fall asleep, and uh, it works and it and it helps. And thankfully I'm not somebody that feels the effect the next day like
some people can't and won't. And I understand take you know, prescription medication that will knock your ass out because it'll make you, you know, groggy the next day. But thankfully I don't, you know, I can take it, fall asleep, sleep pretty well, and then wake up and feel refreshed and energized. But man, I feel like I might have I might
have jinxed myself. Man, I was pretty arrogant about iPhone iOS compared to your Android system, John, And I feel like in recent months there's been a lot of you know, I mean things that I've complained about, and
now we're seeing these bugs that are causing people to be late. And like, I'm still team iPhone, always will be and that's and that's why they're able to do what they do with all these bugs and all these little issues, because they know that nobody's ever going to leave what about Android, Like I know you're you and for those who don't know, like this, this is awesome because this is so John, and I mean in a great way, Like he's more dead set on never leaving team Android because he knows that
he has This isn't just me. I mean I was just messing with him one day, talking about he's loyal to Android, and then I realized, like his family has had an intervention with him, like do what are you doing? Like we want we want a group chat, we want to be able to group text, we want to be able to send pictures and videos to you, and you need to get off Android. And it made you
dig your heels and say never. Yeah, they're never leaving Android. There were three members of my family with Apple and then three with Android, and now I'm the only of the six of us that still has Android, and I'm gonna stick my ground with it. I don't. I know, you're always going to defend him as you should as a loyal member of the Android army. But I don't hear many bugs within their operating system. And that's
the thing. I really don't know what the gripe is from Apple users about Android and why it's so bad, because I never have anything to complain about with Android. I'm not just saying that. Yeah, And battery life,
I feel like is always longer, the screens never crack. Here's what I don't understand the the I don't want to get too techi here, but when you send a video to somebody that has an Android and you have an iPhone, like they're gonna get it in a teeny tiny, ic little tiny file, and then when you click on it and blow it up and it shows
on your entire phone like it's super stretched and grainy and distorted. There is something that both sides could implement to their operating system with an update, they would fix that, but neither will do it because it would mean you've you've been defeated, right, it would mean you're caving to be more compatible with them. Yes, and that's that That actually is perfect because it you know, all of us you know, users, right, customers, Like we're
battling back and forth. But it's because these two at the top are right. They don't they won't concede. Well, don't the new Apple iPhones they they have Android style chargers now, don't they didn't they? Yeah? And I you know, I've had to get used to that because that took a while for me. I mean that was I think it's been two phones now that I've had. But yeah, that I mean they had the the orit, they had the same charging port forever until they made they made that change.
But yeah, I mean I don't when some people, like I've seen pp I've looked at someone's phone who has an Android and I guess it's more of the phone than it is the operating system. But like, uh, is it? Is it? What's the most popular type of phone on the Android plat Samsung? Yeah, Samsung? And then is there another one Google? Like I've seen pictures on those phones, like meaning, I'm holding that
phone and looking at it. It is amazing, Like the quality of it is unbelievable, but when it's uploaded, it doesn't look as good on any platform. I don't know why. I mean, you know, maybe it's the way that it's presented on the Apple version. Yeah, that you're looking at It could all come back to just another one of those, you know, incompatible things. So all right, let me tell you guys really quickly here about my friends over at eat Land and Needland. That's who you need
to trust when it comes to real estate buying and selling a home. Eatlan an Eedland is who you need to turn to. They're not only going to help you throughout the entire process. Make what I've always assumed was is a real stressful, time consuming just to hassle to buy and sell a home. They're going to make it the exact opposite of that, because they're going to
be there every step of the way throughout that process. And another thing I'll add here that is super important, and it's probably why they've been able to do this as long as they have their full service residential real estate brokerage that's been doing this since nineteen seventy six, and it's because they help you save money throughout this process. They will list your home for just one percent,
they have a one percent buyer's rebate. Those are things that now nobody else is doing because you know, not to say they're greedy, but like they know that they can do that and still be a very profitable business and also save you a lot of money. And that's the name of the game, because if you're saving money, you're telling everybody about it. And I mean
that's something that I'm surprised to others haven't tried to mimic. I'm sure they will at some point, but right now, Eland Neeland, that's the only place she could you should turn when it comes to again buying or selling a home. Eland dot com is the website E D E L E N or give them a call. Five two eight hundred. All right, last break, We'll come back here on the other side and finish strong. It is Coffee and Company and we are feel abou Thornton's right here on Sports Talk seven
ninety final segment here on a Tuesday afternoon, five o Tuesday. Hopefully those who were out at Churchill Downs today had themselves a good time, cash some tickets and enjoyed, you know, Derby week. I would imagine there's plenty that this was sort of the day that they go during Derby weeks. So again, hopefully they had themselves a good time. Seemed like they avoided I mean, it wasn't pretty all day, but I don't know if the rain
ever really ended up happening. It looked like it was gonna rain all day, but I'm not sure it did. Of course, I say that as I've been sitting in this cave for the last three hours not seeing anything. But yeah, let's do one more Derby profile before we end the show today.
Who's up next? John too? Password, Let's do it now look at the Kentucky Derby field one by one, t O Password, one of the longest shots this year in the Kentucky Derby will be t O Password, the Japanese bay son of Capano Ricky earned a spot in the Kentucky Derby field on the Japan Road to the Derby. Owned by Tamayo Ozaza, trained by Daisuki Takayani, t O Password will be ridden by Kazushi Kimura. It will be the first time in the Kentucky Derby for the owner and the trainer.
The jockey, Kimura was twelfth last year a board Mandarin Hero. Kimura has been the top jockey at Woodbine for the past three years. With to Password, he will ride a long shot who's expected to be either at or on the lead as the horses come down this stretch. For the first time. T O Password has raced just twice. He won the first rays of his career on January sixth, and then on March twenty third won the Fakura Stakes
at Nakayama too. Password does have a link to nineteen eighty nine Kentucky Derby champion Sunday Silence in his bloodlines. His sire's sire, gold Allure, was a son of Sunday Silence. But no matter what kind of breeding and no matter what kind of trip to o, Password will be trying to overcome a lot of history. Only one horse has won the Kentucky Derby with just two
careers starts before the Derby. That was Linis back in eighteen eighty three to Password, one of the longest shots on the board for the Kentucky Derby, trying to give Japan a first victory in the Kentucky Derby. There you go. We'll have many more of those throughout the week. And again, once once again, big thank you to mister Jody Dimling, because without him there'd
be even less Derby flavor within the show here. I think that's just enough for us, Right, you don't want to hear us, You don't want to hear us fake in and act like in, acting like we really know much about the field and want any of that stuff. Yeah, we want the experts, so we lean on our man, mister Jody Dimmling. All Right, we're out of time. Everybody, enjoy your Tuesday evening. We're back at it tomorrow right here on Sports Talk seven ninety
