But we will be with you, you know, with the show, because you can take us anywhere as long as you have some level of a connection and a smartphone. know a meteorologist in fact here is do you check the weather? Not as much as I checked the traffic on the way, Like you don't really need to check the weather, right, No, just look out the window. The only reason I find myself checking the weather is whenever I'm getting my kids ready in the morning, because like, if it's going to be warm, I want to put them in shorts. Like that's what because we're we're hopefully

getting more and more closer to the consistent warm weather. But we've been in that window here for roughly a month where you could have some you know, some nice weather where it's warm but you know, I'm not hot, but just nice outside, and then you know, one day it could be forty degrees. So you know, I thought today was supposed to be rainy, but it's sunny and it's beautiful outside, so hopefully you guys are enjoying yourselves.

We are just a couple of days away from the Louisville football spring game, and what I wanted to get to just to quickly get it out of the way. The transfer portal opened yesterday and it will be I suppose open. Yeah, it's it's a short window, the post spring transfer portal for college. That's hard for me to say transfer pool. When I say portal, it's like a word I'm just not good at, like all old. Yeah, Like instead of saying portal, I just try to say it fast,

so it's transfer porole. And it really really trips me up because there's certain words maybe I just say funny or sometimes you know, I'll just have the inability to really speak the English language at times, because you know, sometimes it happens. But that's a word where when I say it, I'm like, what are you doing? Like why would why why would that come out of your mouth when you're trying to say the word portal, portal, portal, transfer portal, Like I can't say fast, try to say fast

transfer portal. So you said it great, but was it fast? It was like a semi speed man transfer portal, No, because I try to hold associate and slows it down automatically when you do. But you should, because do you sound more like a professional? You sound like somebody you know that probably should be on the radio. You that Sally sells Seashells on the sea shore. Sally sells she Sally sells seashells on the seashore. Yeah, there you go. It wasn't wasn't totally smooth, but I got through it.

Portal. Maybe that just just no more transfer. I'm just gonna say portal because I can say that, you know, portal, but transfer portal. When I say it, try to say it quickly, it just doesn't work, and I you know, it trips me up. It makes me just really it makes me just want to say, all right, you idiot, turn the mic off off, turn it off, because you need to walk out of here and resign because you are in it you're unable to speak,

which is actually quite literally the job. So anyways, those there were were yesterday and there was a lot of panic, I think early on Tuesday morning, but then once the day progressed, I think we were well aware that not one but two reputable outlets that cover college football recruiting and the free agency season, which again is now the portal they were wrong about Louisville.

Doesn't mean they won't still have other guys that end up going to the portal after the spring game, because I kind of feel like if you hit, if you do this before the spring game, I mean, I don't know the spring game. To me, I'm not even really sure how much the coaches are going to truly if you have a good spring game like that is not going to matter if you get to fall camping like you're not playing well. So I'm sure coaches are going to take notice of every snap and every

play that every single player is involved in to some extent. But I think if you were were really hoping to get some buzz from, you know, entering the portal, you would want to play in the spring game and probably have some good numbers and stats to you know, to one just give another school another, you know, bit of data to assess. I mean, they'll know going in it's the spring game. Probably isn't worth much of anything,

but it's at least something to reference. But also what it could do is, you know, it could shoot down any reports out there that you claim are untrue, that you're not worried about where you are on the depth chart, which we'll get to that, because Penny Boone he heard enough about people claiming that his move from Louisville after just three and a half months on campus was due to where he stood on the depth chart and maybe being behind

some other running backs, and he heard enough and he decided to respond, only to then delete, you know, every everything that he put out. But we still have the sound, so we'll play it. But anyways, we'll get into that in just a moment. But the college basketball rosters around here, I don't think there's been any kind of like real big significant update in like the last twenty four hours on the Louisville side. Obviously yesterday Javon

Hadley a really good addition. You know, I'm surprised to see where he's ranked in the in the rankings as far as available players that have transferred out because I think he's I mean, I don't know what I think his production and his versatility and just really being a guy that can do a little bit

of everything. I really thought that would lead to him being a little more highly regarded but again, just like recruiting rankings and I guess draft boards that kind of stuff too, you really never know, like are you basing it? Like when you let me ask you this, John put your you put your analyst cap on for me. If you were going to put together the best thirty play in college basketball in the portal, would you base it off of dudes who you just know are going to give you this and are this

good in college? Or would you base it off of that along with upside potential ceiling? I think, I mean, if you're giving me just one answer, I would say how they're doing in college. I think you do need to find a balance between the two because ultimately there are a lot of these guys probably do have a ceiling of some sort, especially if they're younger guys in the portal. So yeah, somewhere between those like for example, and we'll look at these rankings later, because I still feel like, for

the most part, it's pretty underwhelming. And that's not a bad thing. Necessarily, there's a lot of players in the portal, and both teams here locally are gonna need a lot of them to fill their roster. But I feel like the last couple of years, there were a lot more notable names that you were very well familiar with in the college basketball landscape. And I consider myself to be someone that watches it more than the average fan and act

probably a lot more than the average fan. And you know, I'm familiar with some of these guys, but you know, it's just But then again, I remind myself that throughout the college basketball season, you will see a guy that is a newcomer for a certain team and he's a big impact guy and they're generating some momentum because they're playing well, and then you realize, oh, wow, I don't know who that guy is, but he came

from this mid major school. But again, I was the reason I asked about the potential or the you know, just how good are they all? How good are they right now? Is because if you're going after dudes that have played college basketball for a couple of years, I mean, I gotta be honest, I'm sure that there is some level of like, hey,

this guy's going to get a little better. But I think the portal to me, for the most part, it's utilized to go get dudes who like are going to come in right away and fill a specific spot that you need, not guys that you still need to kind of develop. And like, for example, I don't know, it sounds like I'm picking on this guy, but DJ Wagner being a top ten player the Transfer Portal rankings from CBS Sports, Like, what is that based off of? Like that? What

would what would mean? That's? Is that a recruiting ranking? I guess, I mean, But then again, a great example was was clear where in Indiana last year because he did not have good numbers at Oregon and he was a really really highly regarded recruit. He hit the portal at one point was one of the time. In fact, I think throughout everyone who entered the portal he was a top top three, top five guy and he ended up having a really good season in Indiana. I mean, I'm not wrong,

right, He's a good player for the NBA. Now, yeah, he's off to the NBA, so you know, but he's a guy that only played one year, and I guess the same can be said about Wagner. But I just don't know where DJ Wagner is. I don't know what he excels him Like, I don't think he's terrible at anything, but like what's his like, what tool is he pulling out of the toolbox like that?

Really, you know that he separates himself from from the pack. Not a great shooter, good enough athlete, but he doesn't play above the rim, not quick, does not create for anybody. I mean, I'm sounding like he's a bum. Trust me, he's a good player, and I wouldn't be shocked if he's, you know, a fourteen to fifteen point a game guy at a different school next year. But I just was really surprised to see him ranked a high as he was. But anyways, we'll get

into all that. But again, I don't think there's been any massive update. I think on the Kentucky side, their fans are starting to get a little bit antsy. And I know Matt on KSR this morning, and I believe even yesterday too, was kind of letting people know, hey, you got to chill out, you got to calm down. And he keeps referencing that, you know, Cali Perry has actually been on the job. I guess for a little bit longer. I mean, was it a day longer?

Cal was introduced on Wednesday? I guess a week ago today? Does that sound right? I think it was His timeline is weird because we knew he had the job, but it took Arkansas a while to officially introduce him.

Yeah, so Wednesday he was introduced, was introduced on Friday. Well, Pope was hired on Friday officially, but we knew it was happening Thursday, and he was introduced on Sunday. Yeah, so you know, they each have had one player added to their roster, and it's each of them meeting Pope and Calipari it's a guy that followed them to their next school. So I think the impatience is a little bit justified. I don't really know what he could be doing right now. Obviously he just got the job.

He was just introduced a few days ago. Like, it doesn't work that quickly, and clearly they are working on fielding a roster and they're going to probably bring in some guys from the high school ranks if they can, And Louisville and Kentucky are in similar situations, to be honest with you, and I don't know if it's because you know, right now there are four players currently in the mix for Pat Kelsey, which again I think you need ten

scholarship dudes. Who can you can rely on to some extent. Right, maybe you get to January and you realize your rotation is going to be seven to eight. These other two you can play them, but it's going to be dependent upon a quick break here and there for one of your other players, or a foul situation whatever it may be, foul trouble, I should say. But you know, Kentucky right now has one or two I guess

because they have well do they have two? I mean, let me pull up their roster, because obviously they brought in Colin is it Colin Chandler? Does that sound like? I think I'd rather have Colin Cowherd, to be honest with you. But anyways, the who's the there's one guy he may he may transfer, or he may never play because he's not any good. I don't know. But there's one guy who's not entered the portal and he

is not he's not enter the draft. Jordan Burks, Yes, Jordan Burks like maybe, I mean, I guess he's still technically on the roster, and I doubt they would try to run him off considering the fact they just need bodies, and you knows, maybe he turns into a pretty good player, but he couldn't I mean, he couldn't sniff the floor this year for Kentucky, which doesn't mean he's bad. But nonetheless, what I'm getting at it, you know, they have Jordan Burk's and they have the transfer from

Byu who hasn't played basketball in two years. So again I'll put it this way, it's really just a product of the situation. And what I mean by that is because all your guys can just up and leave whenever they want. That alone makes it to where you really never know what you're gonna have to do when it comes to fielding your roster. But also when a coaching

change happens. This may not be the new norm, Like I don't think you're going to see every time a coach leaves a school that program who you know is replacing their coach have to deal with what both Louisville and Kentucky you are dealing with this year, because you know, Kentucky, they really only have two guys that have hit the portal or I guess three, Bradshaw big Z who's at Arkansas, and then Thierro who's in the portal who may follow

calt Arkansas. You know, the rest of it. I mean, Dillingham, Shepherd's gonna go pro, Trey Mitchell's graduated, Reeves has graduated, Justin Edwards is going pro. You know. So it's just a rare situation, right because I think if Cali Perry was still there, you know, would big Z still be there, probably, Bradshaw probably, you know, theerro absolutely. Oh if I forget about ONIONSU. I mean he's going pro too.

So put it this way, like I could be wrong, right because the guy's been on the job three four days, and it's really impossible to know what kind of traction they're really getting with these players in the portal or guys that are freshmen in high school that are still looking for a school.

But I mean it wouldn't shock me at all if their roster is very, very underwhelming, because if they end up missing out on Jeremy Roach, the duke player who's transferring, which apparently his schools are Kentucky, Arkansas and Saint John's what a wild I mean, that's that's a Kentucky connection at every level each all three of those guys. So there's him, know, there's the kid from Dayton, Like they're talking and they're in on transfers, just like

Louisville is. But I don't know. I just feel like if if they don't get like one of their top three guys they're going after that everybody else is in on. It wouldn't shock me because again, nobody's saying Mark Pope is a bad coach, but like he's not cal Perry. I mean, you know, Nil clearly is gonna help him. But I understand there they

maybe worry is not the right word to use. But then you know the impatience here because they got two guys on their team and they're gonna need a lot more in these next you know, a couple of months, and there may be more guys that hit the portal today and tomorrow, so there's still plenty of time. But it's just so unusual to see as we sit here midway through April, knowing that once we get to actually see these teams in action, you know the guys that are going to be filling those roster spots.

I mean, it's anybody's guest right now, but I'm gonna make a prediction if we get to Friday and there's not like any legitimate update, that's like a good one or there's no addition I guess to their roster. Their fans are going to start to get even more impatient, right, Like they're going to start freaking out. Yeah, I mean, if they aren't already, it's gonna be by the end of the way. And I think they they are. But there's really no like, there's no one. Like it's

not Mark Pope's fault. Like again, I don't really know what he It would be insane if he would have already landed, you know, a couple of big time transfers. Considering the fact that he literally just showed up on Sunday, it sounds like So anyways, we'll be keeping you updated as best we can. And on the Louisville side, tomorrow's a big day. I mean, they've got a few visitors coming in really, I guess, not

just tomorrow, but really kind of Thursday through Saturday. I believe is a busy, busy window there for Pat Kelsey and his staff because they're bringing in some high school kids. Apparently Boogie flanned former Kentucky Sani who decommitted and picked Kentucky over Indiana at the time. Well now, apparently Louisville among many schools are interested. But our guy Rob Cassidy at Rivals, that's talking to him earlier this afternoon. He said that Louisville is pursuing him, you know,

harder than anybody. So you know, you got the number ten earth sorry, the number eight player in America coming in tomorrow to Jayden quantins quaintance. I mean, and it sounds like Arkansas is still the school to beat there because he was committed to Caliperry. But you know, who knows. Maybe he's really impressed with his Louisville visit. Speaking of visits, a couple of guys who visited this past weekend. There's not any good news or bad news

on those guys. That's Nick Boyd from FAU and then Dante Maddox, which I initially thought that with Maddox, Louisville may end up just you know, coming up short in that recruitment because he's from the Chicago area Illinois. I mean, he did visit Illinois after he visits Louisville, but he left Illinois and didn't make a decision, and now he's at Xavier. So maybe this is a guy that truly wanted to take in every visit and then make a

decision from there. So I'm trying to be structured with this stuff, John, because you know there are people, believe it or not, they need their heads check, but they don't listen to the full three hours of the show. Don't know why. Don't know how about you. I don't know

how you could not listen to the full three hours of the show. But when people just randomly get us for five ten minutes in the car, like if I'm just talking about this player who transferred from a MAX school or this guy who transferred from you know, the West Coast, I mean, it's somewhat informative, but like it's also there's a chance we talk about these dudes that like we never even get a visit. So I'm still adjusting like everybody

else with the portal. Obviously, there's much more adjustments to be made on the actual college basketball side with coaches and everybody having a deal with free agency, seas and all that. But it's just such a chaotic, never ending cycle of you know, eight new players in the portal, and you know, Louisville or Kentucky or Indiana even they're talking to these three, but you never know where you stand. You see one tweet and I think I have

at least figured out what the process is for reporting on these guys. And I don't mean from like my end. I mean like people who cover recruiting and whatnot. Guy hits the portal, you'll see a like a Jamie Shaw from on three, maybe a Joe Tipton, maybe a Who's twenty four seven's

top guy, Eric Bossey, maybe Rob Cassidy at rivals. You know, guys who cover college basketball recruiting are now shifting to covering also the portal as well, and they'll report that they're in the next tweet will be a picture of set player and a long list of schools that have already reached out, and then like maybe in a day, maybe in a few days, you get an update that you know this transfer is going to be at these five schools. So until you get to like that point, that level of like

here you go. You knew there were thirty schools that reached out, and now you know they're scheduling visits and you're getting one. That's where I feel like you can shift a little bit of a little bit of attention there. But that a couple of like when when a big name just hits the portal and you know everybody's involved. Usually you have at least a couple maybe three days before you get any legitimate update as far as which direction they're going.

But it's also it feels like something you should talk about because hey, it's a big time player that would be a big addition for one of these programs. But then again, like you could spend two days having it be you know, something you chew on here and there throughout the show, only for you to realize that, you know, of the thirty schools, you weren't one of the five that are going to get a visit or something like that.

So anyways, I'm trying my best to balance and adjust to this because usually at this time and this is I think this is better because it's more exciting. It's you know, you get a chance to get something new every year, not a whole team like we're going through now now. But in a previous life, it would be all right, who's who's going pro?

Right? Like who? Because the transfer used to be so rare, I mean, it would happen, but there was a there was a window a time where guys could grad transfer only and that's how you were able like for example, like Damian Lee and Trey Lewis. Keep in mind those guys could play right away because they didn't, you know, they'd already graduated. So that became a growing thing, but it was nowhere near the amount of guys

you have now that essentially become free agents. But before that, like before the grad transfer thing became a thing, I mean, it was it was just about which which guys are going to declare for the draft and are they going to hire an agent? And if they hire an agent, it's done. They cannot they're they're they're gone. But if they don't, then you have that deadline window where they got to announce. So are they going to come back to school or are they going to stay in the draft. And

you know that this is just a different world. And again it's chaotic, but it's kind of fun. We're gonna have some fun today. We have a lot to get into. No guest scheduled today. I usually bring in our man, Kent Spencer from WAHS eleven and we'll get to him tomorrow or Friday if he has tom But I just felt like today, you know, there's it's it's you know it's one of those days where I want to let

you guys be a part of the show. So if you want to give us a call, you can five oh two five seven one seventy nine hundred. That is the number. And if you want to text in Ellen and Federal Credit Union text line five O two six five three zero seven ninety. It is Coffee and Company. We are fueled by Thornton's right here on Sports Talk seven ninety. It's right coffee and Company rolling along here on a Wednesday afternoon. Appreciate you hanging out with us. A lot of things you could

be doing, but you're with us. If you're listening, then that means you're with us, So thank you. All right, If you want to join us, five oh two five seven one seventy nine hundred is the number, and if you want to text in, five O two six five three zero seven ninety is the Ellen N Federal Credit Union text line. This text says, Nick, you're turning into that old guy that hates recruiting and always tells people he doesn't want to hear about any name until they're on campus and

practicing with the team. I'm not sure if that guy exists anymore. I mean, I'm sure there are people that you know don't follow it nearly as close as as you know I do, and maybe even some of the listeners here. In fact, there's plenty of people that probably follow it closer than I am. It's you know, they're just you know, they're on the message boards, and they're they pay for a subscription, you know, to the on threes and the rivals and all that kind of stuff. So I

would never claim to be the most informed. I'm just going off of you know, what those guys say, and some of you will probably have access to that information that I don't. But you can't do that anymore, really, I mean again, you can, you can give the hell you want.

But it used to be where again we were just talking about this, how if you lost a player, it was a rare situation with a guy transferred or it was going pro early, right, So your freshman class would typically feature you know, three four guys, and unless you're at a place like you know, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, the other schools that at one point really thrived on the one and done model and they really tried to to win that way, you could go into the off season and literally say,

yeah, I know the eight guys that are coming back on my team. So you know, I don't need to get educated. Now. You if you don't follow this at least a little bit here and there, like, you're not gonna know you're gonna show up to the Red White game. You won't know anybody. You won't know anybody's name, you don't know whobody is, what you know, what grade they are, are they junior or they are freshman, whatever may be. So it's just different now, it

really is. Have you ever heard that guy like you know that that type of guy? Yeah, I can't name any any specific people, but I know you're talking about yeah, so and I can't either as far as just you know, anybody that I know specifically, but you know, the Target demo for And I hate Target demo because I'd like to think that you can be any age, male, female, whatever. And doesn't mean you wouldn't

want to listen to this show. I mean I think we you know, and that's what I like whenever I end up, you know, seeing somebody who listens to the show, and it's just not what I, you know, would expect. I don't really know what I would expect. But anyways, men, men to men thirty five fifty four, is you know the target demo for this platform, that is sports talk radio. That's I mean. So that's doesn't mean we don't cater at times to maybe a little bit

younger, sometimes a little bit older. But men thirty five to fifty four, when I first started, you know, doing radio to where I you know, I had to believe or not. I did actually have to learn some things before they let me just start yapping my trap in front of the microphone here. But you know, you got to keep in mind, like that's the listener. You should keep in mind that type of listener men thirty five to fifty four. You don't have to cater everything to them, but

just know that that is the target audience. So they were the guys that you know, I was told they don't care about recruiting. They're not, you know, and some of them did, I'm sure, but like the recruiting, the the people that really get into recruiting were usually the younger generation, and I think those people matter just as much. But you know, technically it wasn't the target demo. Well, now again, I don't think that matters because I think we're if you're a Louisville fan, a Kentucky fan,

Indiana fan, whatever, regardless of what age you are. If you're

a fan, don't you want to know about your team? And you used to be able to kind of just put it on autopilot for the for you know, from from April till I don't know, maybe October really because you could just understand that, yeah, there'll be some new pieces, but they're freshmen, so I don't really need to know anything about them before they play, and they probably won't even play that much because you know, Rick Patino doesn't play freshmen, and they've got the you know, eight guys back from

last year's team. One guy was a really good player all conference, and then the other guy was good. But we think he's really going to get better and developed when he becomes a junior. That's just that just isn't how it is anymore. So maybe I am turning into that guy because it just seems so chaotic and hard to keep up with. But it's important, all right. So let's give you the latest here on the Louisville football portal situation.

So it started earlier in the week and get. In fact, on Sunday, Pete Nakos of on three he put up four names and said these guys for Louisville, all offensive linemen, will be trans in the transfer portal. Ruben unaj Unage, I think, say you say that Travante Silvester, Lance Robinson and Victor Cutter, only one of them is actually in the portal, and the others have all publicly disputed this and said that that's not true. So one for four for Pete Nachos. That is where I guess the

real misinformation stuff started. And then yesterday you had Brandon Marcelo at twenty four to seven sports get a lot of stuff wrong, including Michael Gonzalez, Louisville's maybe most valuable offensive lineman, a veteran that put a lot of fans in a panic, and then he ended up removing that name and then just decided to delete the tweet all together, and then he apologized. So as of right now, the guys who who have entered the portal, there's not that

many. I mean, Penny Boone, we're going to talk about him in a minute. He's the big addition that you landed, and you hope to kind of feel that get that that that void that you're gonna have because you lost two really good running backs in Juir Jordan and Grenda Isaac Grinda. But he's not transferring. And then the others are right to right tackle Rubin Unage, who I just mentioned. He was the he was the one out of

those four that Pete Nachos mentioned and he was wrong. Uh. And then the other, of course is Jermaine Lowlay, which that is a that's a big loss because he's a big name guy that you know has talent and can

play. But I don't think it's as big of a hit as as maybe I'm only speaking for myself here, which is all I can speak for, but the fact that he's a guy that was really accomplished at his previous school, and I guess showed some flashes here and there at Louisville, But like, you're not losing a lot of production because unfortunately for the young man,

he was never healthy enough to play a whole lot. Now, after the spring game on Friday, I would imagine you'll see some more gys entered the portal, And I have no clue if it's gonna be guys that you're really gonna miss, or if it's guys that you you know, probably never heard of, or maybe it's a guy you've heard of, but hey, he now knows after the spring has concluded, he's not where he wants to be on the depth chart. So the few days of kind of worrying, Wow,

is it gonna be bad? Or do we have issues with nil? I mean, I don't think any of that ended up being true. And let's talk quickly about Penny Boon here, because I had to look this up on Urban Dictionary, and then there was a quick Google search that also gave me the information I was looking for. Have you ever heard anybody John, You're younger than me, but you're also older than me at times two when it comes to like pop culture stuff. Maybe not older, but you're just

like it's not your bag, right, Yeah, standing on business? Do you know what that means? No? Have you ever heard anybody say it? Maybe? But I have no clue to me. I've heard of it, and I kind of it's one of those like there's a lot of slang out there. Is that what they call it now? Like slang? I mean that's what it's always been called. But like maybe there's now a new, more modern, more hip name for it, But I feel like I've known enough to be dangerous as far as what the younger folks are using.

Like you remember when they started saying that's cap. That was probably the first time that I realized I was getting older. Yeah, So I didn't know that meant for a while. Yeah. So cap that's cap means it's you know, it's not true. Yeah, and their capping meaning they're lying. So standing on business I just thought meant you were like gonna stand up for yourself. Like that was the very loose definition that I had come to.

So I'll tell you the two definitions that we have here. One is from a USA Today article that I guess is quoting Drake as maybe he got this phrase going, I don't know, and then the others from Urban Dictionary. But here's what. Here is the Instagram story that Penny Boon posted I think yesterday. It's since been deleted, but here's what he did. Obviously,

there's a lot of folks myself included who I didn't. I didn't tweet it out, but uh, actually I guess I did take a vague shot at him because I, you know, the thought of somebody leaving and not wanting to play in Jeff Brams offense. I mean, I just feel like that's suspect if you were somebody that was expected to be a very featured player, because I think a lot of guys would want to play for Jeff Brams offense.

Am I biased, of course, but my point is, you know, he heard the noise out there about people claiming he was leaving because he didn't necessarily have a good spring and wasn't going to be first string, second string, whatever it may be. And and by the way, I believe that, I don't. Look, let's be real, I don't think they go through spring telling guy. I mean, there's clearly a depth chart,

and there's a certain amount of carries that that each guy's getting. But I just feel like, if you're gonna if you're gonna leave because you didn't like where you were on the depth chart, which I'm not saying. I mean, he claims he's not that, he claims that that's not it, but either way, he heard about it. He responded by posting a bunch of clips from him in practice. I didn't get a chance to see those,

but I saw the screen shot. They've since been deleted, so I assume that is him sharing Spring Practice highlights of himself to I guess, maybe prove people wrong, prove to people wrong that you know it wasn't about that. So this is him on his Instagram story, which again it's since been deleted, and it is a seven second clip. I'll let you hear it. More of the story. I always stand on business everywhere I go Tomorrow, second or third okay, moral of the story, I always stand on business

everywhere I go, talking about second or third string? Okay, what do you think he means? Off the top? I feel like he's just trying to say that he's better then people project him to be. So. Standing on business, according to Drake, means to take care of your responsibilities or put your money where your mouth is. Urban Dictionary says just to take care of your business obligations. So is he talking in IL? If he I think he's talking in IL. Here's a thing. Don't talk in slang.

This may make me sound really old. Oh dude, I love it. Don't you all don't understand? I'm not. This isn't like, this isn't like a bit, This isn't for content John is so unique when it comes to his He's like, I don't you know, you've got some young tendencies. You have an old soul, things that you know, kind of irritate the older crowd, irritates you two. But like you'll be the same guy when you're ninety. I think, like, you know, you're just you're

you're ageless in a way. It's very weird to think because you can go like totally opposite, right, yeah, but go ahead say using the slang and I get it. They're kids. I mean, I'm not even far off from that age when you really think about it. But he's like a fifth year dude, so I'm sure you're like the same age. So you you you have to carry yourself like a professional. You can't just I mean,

if you're gonna post something, don't post that. If that makes sense, well, and there's no there's no there's no way you benefit from there's no benefit to that. Now, there's no substance to it. Nobody, no coach is going to see that and think they want this guy. Yeah, and they may still take him, but like, there's there's no scenario that helps you in any way. It could only hurt you how much it hurts you. Who knows? Yeah, but it's just not worth it.

What would you gain by that? Now? For what it's where? I guess it was like an Instagram story, so it wasn't like a public thing addressing it. He just put it out there knowing people would see it and run with it. But he since deleted it, and I thought, I thought, Zach Soskin, who For those who don't know who Zax Soskin is, he's a I don't know exactly who he works for, but he is

an athlete advocate and brand builder. He works with a lot of college athletes and helps them with the marketing side of I guess their brand where they can get more NIL deals. I hope if Zach's listening then he he he would give me the thumbs up that I described him, you know, as best I could. But you know, he's he's been involved in a a lot of this stuff, and you know, he was somebody yesterday kind of trying to shoot down the nonsense that was out there about Louisville losing players, which

again, all that was essentially not true. They lost two big names, Boone and Lolay. But I don't think it had anything to do with an il and if and if Penny Boone is you know, standing on business in fact? I think that's what that means, right, Like he's showing highlights and saying, what are you talking about? Second or third string? And then saying he's standing on business? That I mean, is that not a direct statement that it is about money? Right? That's what it is.

You and I are learning what's standing on business means. So I think just the very brief definition that exists, it's it's essentially confirmation that it was about money to him. Now here's where it gets. Here's where it gets to where you really just have to, you know, guess what you think truly happened here? Did he want more money after he got here and they didn't

give it to him? So he's standanding on business? God, I feel like such a dork saying that, Like, you know, what was the other thing I was saying the other day that I had to ask you if I'm cool if it's the bags? Right? Yeah? Like, you know, was he standing on business about the bag? If in fact he wanted

more money after he already got here? And also I'm sure there are unique situations everywhere but I don't think there's been a single player that has ended up at Louisville through NIL that got a lumps, like got the full payment before anything, and nobody would do that, because here's the thing. If they did that, he would have that money and he'd be gone. And he you know, so like it's stupid to do that, any kid claiming they

want their money up front. Like you may be good enough to where some sucker school would do that, and you may stay there and be great, but like it's just a stupid thing to do. So he's he sends deleted everything. But again he's claiming he's standing on business, which John tells me he's still claiming it's about in IL money. And I don't think it's a situation where you know, the check didn't clear. I think one, I

think he probably wanted his money upfront and that's not going to happen. And also, and I don't think anybody would have ever told him he was going to But also I have good reason to believe that he's a good player that they did not want to lose. Trust me, it's not like, oh he sucks, get him out of here. But he's somebody that was not, you know, dominating the rest of the running backs. I think, honestly, the young man who transferred from Miami was had a better spring thus

far, and maybe he's hitting the portal early. I guess what is it. I mean, he could have waited till Friday night. Honestly wouldn't have been that big of a difference. But him not wanting to at least go through spring tells me that he doesn't think he would even get the reps that would be a good look for him in spring ball. Next time I asked

for a raise, I'm telling him I'm staying up. Yes, I mean, look, at the end of the day, you got to stand on business, right, because honestly, that's like even if you asked for a very unrealistic raise and you just said, we look, I got to I'm standing on business, because that's that's just you saying, nobody's going to look out for me better than me. So I'm looking out for myself. Right, I'm standing on business. Less less than one whiles to say, cabin

next time, right, next next time you're up? Actually, yeah, say standing we're standing on business. You've got to drop the bag, right, Like that's that's that's how we that's how we make more money. Let's

try that and see if it works out. All right. What you need to do if you are somebody that struggles with a rectitleist function, or maybe you feel as if you could have low testosterone, you need to reach out to the ol of a men's clinic because they are the ones who can help you with both of those things in a variety of other things as well. It's a full service men's clinic, a full male staff helping men be healthier

in a variety of ways. They can help you with your intimacy again, rectitles function, low testosterone, joint pain, hair restoration, weight loss therapy, so there's a lot of ways they can help you. They've helped thousands of men in the Kentucky and area for over ten years. Other imitators have popped up around town, you know, trying to dip into this business, and they quickly fold because they can't compete Louisman's Clinic. That that's who you

need to turn to. BABO two four four four four thousand is the number. Louisman's Clinic. Dot com is the website. Quick break. We'll come back on the other side we're standing on business for the rest of the show today. It's right, we're standing on business here. Coffee and company fuel bu Thornton's certainly appreciate them, all right, Uh, real quick, this is something I thought that was well done. If you remember last week the

Kentucky coaching search, I mean, it wasn't a circus. I mean again, Louisville and Kentucky search played out the exact way that it was. The circus was Calip Perry. As far as how you know, he just you know, the walk in the dog day. The news came out that he was just it was it was something. But Scott Drew, do you remember there was a and by the way, we never updated on this show,

and I'm sure you guys saw that it was real. The whole thing about somebody calling the Mexican restaurant where Scott Drew was there with a Baylor donor having lunch. A new station in Waco went to that restaurant and talked to the manager and they claimed that they had a lot of people calling them. Were Kentucky fans just trying to you know, I guess get word to uh to Scott Drew. So as we now know, Scott Drew decided to stay at Baylor, so he was there having lunch again today with that same guy.

And it's because they've now put up a little bit of a little sign there in that booth that says Drew's table, and it's a picture of them there from last week, and he and his friend, who again is a big financial booster for Baylor, both signed their autographs. So like it'll be, it'll be remembered, probably more on the Baylor side than it will be Kentucky. I mean, Kentucky fans will remember it, but you know, it's a guy they wanted and he said no. But either way that I just

don't know college basketball. We don't get the stories and just the you know, the craziness that comes with college football. I feel like like college football's give it us so many just hilarious story situations. I mean, it's awesome in basketball. I just feel like we don't get it as much. But I feel like I don't know this offseason, even though it's been going on for less than a week or a little over a week, it's already been

hectic. And I'm probably a little biased because it's just been hectic around here. Where we have two of the bigger programs, not only I mean they are the biggest programs here, but two of the bigger programs in the sport. And they have new coaches and it's two guys that nobody ever would have expected to be the coaches here and they're going to have brand new teams. So it's been crazy. And speaking of crazy, you are crazy if you

don't reach out to my friends at EATL and Needle. And when it comes to buying or selling a home, look, they've been doing this for a long time, in fact, since nineteen seventy six. A full service residential

real estate brokerage. Whether you're buying or selling, that is who you need to turn to because they're going to help you throughout the entire process, make it smooth as it can be. Just the thought of moving, and I don't mean like packing up your stuff, I mean just moving, signing the you know, the mortgage, that kind of like that just gives me anxiety because it's just it's a lot of adult stuff that you know, I don't

want to do. Well. That's why I reach out to Eveland and ne Eedland because they'll help you throughout the entire process, and obviously again it's it's it's a process, but they're going to make it as easy as possible. And they're also going to save you a lot of money because they will list your home for one percent. Do you hear me? They will list your home for one percent. That alone should be the reason why you reach out to Elam Needland when it comes to selling your home. So again, it's

elin dot com. You want to check out the website, get all the information, or you can give them a call two twenty eight hundred. They'll be happy to hear from you. All right, we got two more hours to go. We'll continue to stand on business as though. We keep this thing rolling along, and I'm going to do my best. And I'm not even kidding you, like I do, you know, believe it or not

to do prepare for this show? But I did. I feel like I did like a book report, because I have like a breakdown of visitors when they're visiting what other schools they're going to visit. You know how good we feel about Louisville's chances. John, I did my homework and I'm ready to present it to the class. On the other side,
