________

Sharp Best Health invites back Lindsay Damoose, MFT, First Stress Aid Therapist with Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, to talk about ACT - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and how accepting our painful emotions can help us create a fulfilling life in spite of them.

At its most basic level, ACT encourages us to accept those things that are out of our control and commit to other thoughts and actions designed to enrich our lives. Rather than feeling guilty about having negative thoughts or feelings, we learn that negative emotions are perfectly natural. When we are able to accept the negative parts of our consciousness, we are more free to start moving away from them and towards a more positive direction.
