Episode description

In our latest episode, we’re bringing you a mashup of two different important ideas. We share the importance of controlling your responses because they effect the situation’s outcome AND the importance of positive pressure and using that pressure to catapult you into success.

Mackey and Colton talk positive pressure and the fact that pressure in itself is neither inherently bad or good, but it is your response, your outlook that creates it into a bad or good situation.

Believe it or not, stress is actually a good thing. Stress can keep you moving forward on the right path. It takes time to reach your goal, to win a state championship, to build a business, and so in order to stop you from being burnt out, pace yourself. Slow and steady wins the race!

We also share an interview with Brian Kight where he shares the idea behind E+R=O and what it practically means and looks like both on the field and in life.

Key takeaways from this podcast:

  • There is positive stress, not all stress is bad. Stress can keep you on pace.
  • “You can’t win a state championship in one week.”
  • Events + Response = Outcome
  • If you want better outcomes, you have to engage in better responses
