In the days after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, Americans from across the political spectrum have been grappling with questions about heated political rhetoric and political violence. Inside the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, party officials have been preaching unity and resilience as they celebrate Trump’s third straight presidential nomination. Outside, the path forward is less clear.
