Whistleblower Accuses Facebook Of Enabling Capitol Riot

A whistleblower claims Facebook prioritized profit over public good and accuses the company of enabling the Capitol Riot by allowing its platforms to be used to spread hate, violence and misinformation. Facebook say they continue to make significant improvements to tackle the spread of misinformation and harmful content, and to suggest they encourage bad content is just not true. The Washington Post reports that Trump asked his advisers whether he should announce his 2024 bid for the White House after the chaotic exit in Afghanistan. They urged Trump, who is taking legal action to reinstate his twitter account, to be patient over concerns that an announcement now may help the Democratic turnout in the 2022 midterms.
