In August 1999, 16-year-old Jessica Gaudie left her Nambour home to babysit for a family friend and was never seen again. Her disappearance sent shockwaves through Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and ignited one of the region’s most haunting murder investigations. The man convicted of her murder, Derek Bellington Sam, has never revealed the location of her body, leaving her family in a state of perpetual grief and uncertainty.

But Jessica’s case may be just one piece of a larger, more disturbing puzzle. In the 16 months surrounding her disappearance, two other women—British backpacker Celena Bridge and teacher’s aide Sabrina Glassop—vanished under eerily similar circumstances. All three cases are linked by one chilling common denominator: Derek Sam.
