You and this motherfucker forst gup.
Nike had always told me, I feel like you got some fishing tackles, like talk to the back of your ship.
He's like a football cup. You're the real coach. Problem.
Are are fisherman? This is a real question. Are fisherman athletes?
No, it's NASCAR, Yeah, I do that.
I'm not gonna expect none of them. I went to a NASCAR race. It's hard. Bro.
You know they got a pee in a suit. That's wow.
Like now they be racing so long that they can't go to the bathroom.
Bro, about where the pe?
No fisherman I.
Poker athletes. We gotta have a line right because ESPNB.
Like poker is not an athletic. You're not.
It's not no, that's not no, that's not a physical I feel like respecting fisherman because that is that's not easy fishing.
It's not it's not easy.
Like y'all was disrespected off, I didn't disrespect said Tiger. Y'all was in the comments talking crazy about Tiger. Bro, y'all see your favorite basketball players get on that golf course. It's not sweet.
It's not what you mean. Steph Curry looks like a great golfer. He can do everything.
So we can put golfing up there with bowling.
Oh, WHOA, don't disrespect bowling. Bowling is different, Bro. Golfing is harder than bowling, for sure.
It's not even closed.
Tennis is hard and bro, Golfing is harder. Bowling is hard, Bro. Them dudes that bowl are cold.
Bro.
We're not taking away from them for dinner.
First, my my dad golf, so it doesn't take much anyway. Got to catch, he got turf toe, he got permanent turn still golf.
You ruined the linears the other episode.
And on that note, we're back another episode of Club five twenty podcasts. I'm the host. My name is DJ Wells. We got a guest to my left. We gonna introduce him last to my far left, resident chef Bishop Greenlea, my boy be here.
How you what? Hello?
And the people been on your ass too about the gray leaf been calling me Bishop be here lately. I appreciate that. Your shame the devil. What's up, guys, let's row.
What's up guys, broncos Country, I know them, broncos Man. Want to Russell Wilson ass every time he said in the interview that was about three touchdowns.
Yeah, you're gonna bounce back, bounce back down. But to my right, my boy, young knock, young tea. How you living, my guy?
I'm good man. These was really at the door. I was hooping outside of O Ryan So for what come on?

Hey man, my boy, my boy, don't hoop no more. Man, We're go on YouTube right with him? Okay, shout out to oh the real oh not made Back to my left, we had a special guests in the building, Indiana Legend, every fucking individual war possible fact, high school in college. Man, if you don't know what this is, we got Kyle got east Side. Oh, how you feeling, man, appreciate you pulling up the five twenty.
My shore man.
Thanks for having me for shure. Hey, that's crazy. Before we get to the episode. You really got a mister basketball and then you got the MP in college. Which one of them you feel more like happy about? Like which one of it was, like I did this shit?
Uh for me?
Probably mister basketball just because like you was talking about earlier, Jeff like manifesting, Like when I was young, I used to go to his games. Greg Golden do testament fora vera Deshaun Thomas. Like I was traveling around watching these dudes, and like I knew I wanted to be like the best in the state. And so from your really young age, like five, I was like, I want to win that. And then it kind of disappeared for a while. I
liked football and all this stuff. But then when I got back to high school, it's like, yeah, I want to miss basketball. So doing that for in India, you know, it means it does mean more here. Not to be cliche, but it just does. And so me winning that meant the most Indiana boys who better than everybody.
I'll put money up on it before we get into the episode, though, you know what I'm saying, just what you what you're rocking today? We got the garment shout out to y'all, send the garments in the mail.
You know what I'm saying, Man, my god, we got that.
Dance.
Damn God, damn radio.
He's not what hey, hey, I ain't like Jay and it's gonna take me a minute.
I gotta right my right hard. No, we ain't blaking that out dance.
Shout Hey, I got wild Nation. You know what I'm saying, be here with you.
They gave me.
Shout out to my boys, got ghetto schouch, be quiet, shout out to my boys over in ghettos. College Baby, We rocking with y'all. Man, appreciate y'all for the march. Please send more. We will be rocking y'all. Preer on future episode.
Out gay that was that was good boy. He might wouldn't do all the ass because I was day this mother. Yeah, my fun up. But it's comfortable anyway. We're not sweet the ball back and jeff that was official Jeffery team. Yeah, I like, guess what it's comfortable and who got the better Pro Bowl this one or you in the first one? Three A because that was crazy. It was crazy.
He's shouting to my people already. Three we got the new merche too. Bro, I'm a rocket. Uh here. In future episodes, for.
Sure, we rock with y'all. We need to evaluate themselves. I'll be saying, y'all been sending them on two x tall teams like going to the hospital, and.
I meant like two x ls and one for him for me, But nah, I'm a rocket. Damn bro, I'm gonna have you know what I mean. The do the alteration for me.
So whatever, then that means I wonderful guess we have here.
It was here over Man, We're gonna get to it. I gotta.
I'm starting off the rip with a hard question for you. Obviously we're gonna get to how you got there. But you were part of history. You know what I'm saying. The NCAA on the downside of it. You know what I'm saying, y'all was going crazy that year. You was the one seed. You know what I'm saying, y'all played the sixteen seed. Fortunately you got upset. Like I know, we talked all the time about like the background of basketball, like how mentally taxing it is, Like how like anxious
that shit is? Like how was that for you to like deal with that particular moment. I know you've talked about it before, but like just from your mindset, like how did you have to handle that shit?
Yeah? It was.
It was tough after because like and again I've talked about it, but like.
Right as soon as we lost, obviously all the.
Emotions I'm crying and shit, like and coach I don't even remember what coach after the game, and immediately like we didn't have a chance to catch our breath. And like, the we had to get police escorts from our bus to our rooms because there was death threats from like gamblers that lost so much money and ship and they were all standing outside like screaming at us and stuff, and so like we just didn't didn't feel like human at that at that point.
So that was like crazy to go through.
And like, but even before the game, coach Bennett like he would not let us overlook somebody. Like if you ever heard him talk, he is the most humble dude ever, So he wasn't gonna let us overlook them. But man, that game wasn't even close, Like it wasn't like that they smacked us by twenty.
I think people forget that far. Like we loved about twenty. It was like seventy to fifty or something like that. Man, bro. And it's crazy because it happened again this year.
I think it's gonna probably happen a little bit more of the way that college basketball's kind of changed, and we'll talk about that a little bit later. But for that to be the history first time that the sixteen seed upset of one seede, for like you said, that whole entire like, like you said, they headed it to y'all. Y'all had to deal with the backlash for that ship, and I feel like that wasn't fair. But that's some crazy shit.
To do with that, because shit, I thought col Now, I thought, you bet on the game. Shit, they deserve to get asked. I was so goddamn man, I wasn't donna send no death thress. That's the pocket.
That's what the two of us, bro, that's you know what.
I appreciate it because I'm not the only one that watched in the first round, I'm like, yeah, and they was way worse than us.
At least we lost to a five seed.
They were technically the last ranked team in the tournament.
That's crazy, Okay, I'll keep it a being. What really happened, bro?
What you think?
I think?
So, I mean, we'll get it. We obviously won. The next year, we started switching one through five. We were more athletic the following year, and uh and coach Bennett and he finally like he kind of he was able to adapt the second year. I think the first year one we just kept hedging ball screens and it wasn't working. They had this little guard just getting around, getting around. Obviously, they had nothing to lose, so they were just hitting
they normally wouldn't hit. On top of that, and then for me, man, I feel like by first meeting time out, I knew we were gonna lose them there, damn, because you know, you know how it is like when you're playing, you like you just know.
Man.
It was damn their home game for them, Like they showed out and everyone who was there to watch other teams start rooting for them, and we're down, like it was like, I don't know, ten to six, so we weren't even getting it. Like ten to six, we call time out and I'm like, damn, we're gonna lose it. Like that early in the game.
I swear it was crazy. That's how it was.
When we played Cleveland State, they start hitting backboard threes. I'm like, you can't shoot hitting off the backboard from the top of the key, you know, you can't shoot. Norris Cole here and runners, I'm like, he ain't even have his box all the way right yet.
I was hot about that.
Yeah, his box was still leaning, you know, Yeah, it wasn't even right yet, so you know, he wasn't ready.
But ready Norris.
Now, we're gonna talk about his look back later, but you, sir, I still gotta beef for y'all. Fuck y'all and fuck that Louisville team. That's my favorite team. Y'all supposed to meet in Eddie, Napolis sweet sixteen and look like y'all ruined my fucking birthday. Yeah, I had, I had wrote that on my calendar, like, oh, we're gonna beat Louisville Indianapolis. I'm gonna be lit. I'm going number five in the draft. It's gonna be lit. And none of that happened. I ain't manifest that one being.
I'm like that.
One.
I definitely the story you aln't ready for that. He was your beat for Louile so bad. I know Rick got the tires of Pops and Ship, but like, what was you was up with them?
Oh?
Man, I'm mad at Louisville because man, I was getting recruited. Rick Potino called me, and you know, my dad went there play for Boston and Rick Patino was a head coach.
That was his first coaching job.
So I was like, my dad always talked about Rick Potino, So I was like, dang, it'd be cool to get an offer from there and try to go to Louisville because my dad had ties with Rick. So Rick Potino finally called me my dad ear to the ear, grinning like yeah, this is the one we've been waiting on. I'm like, yeah, food me for Boston College. He was like, yeah, I'm calling regards for al Skinner. I was so mad.
Yeah. I was like, like, why you ain't recruit me? He was like, well, I got a guard named Edgar Sosa.
I'm like, I don't disrespect Edgar Sosa. He like, he's from New York. He's the truth. I couldn't wait to play them. He was so weak to me, but shout out to Edgar Man. But because he had me feeling away because Patino was gassing so much but respect.
That's funny as hell.
I was, so, we know you went to Virginia, man, how did you get to Virginia? What other schools was in the play before you made that commitment? Yeah, so Virginia's actually last school to offer me, which usually don't happen that way. Nless, It's like Duker Kentucky or something like that. So they came late in the I mean I committed when I was a junior, so I really want to go to Michigan.
I really liked it there a lot.
Coach Bennett just came a little harder than be Line did. And then I want to go to IU my whole life ship.
But I just you would have made the league, Kyle. You to drop twenty this be hard with a little five and lost it all.
I told you, like I was manifesting like the high school basketball right in the and like I had a lot of family go to IU. I had like a great uncle on the board of trustees. Like we're talking like their are you fans everybody? And wearing a candy striped pants like that meant something to me, And so I wanted to go there.
But man, me and Tom Creane just didn't really see out the eye.
We uh, we didn't hit it off the same way as some of the other coaches.
So I knew pretty early smoked it. Man. Yeah, Indiana schools, Man, we're time cream coaching. Now.
I'm so glad bro that you left. Goddamn idiot. I'm an advocate for that leave. What was the biggest reason why you went to Virginia though they.
Were starting to they were starting to uh, really pick up momentum when they had Justin Anderson, Brockden, Anthony Gill in the league now like they Mike.
Scott had left a little bit before then.
But like Mike Scott, he changed like he coach Ben changed the culture over there.
And I was a dude.
I always wanted to make sure I went on a visit before I committed, and I always wanted to be the last, Like I wanted to commit on signing day in April or whatever, like the last make sure.
I was making the right choice.
I got to Virginia and you know, you got that feeling your stomach they always talk about. It was like I'm gonna commit on and I was like, all right, let me go home and sleep on it. Slept on it felt it sounds like it was. It was either a good balance for me like they was talking earlier, it's not really. They think they're a party school, like they get after it the dark. The spring is better. Darty's is better than than the party.
Sure, you probably didn't get it. He got game recruitment trip.
And you know it's crazy shot to Rick Fox that was the elite assist on Lows and Keys for sure got to respect it. This thing I wish about would have did that for me, your white recruit with man, they gave me an xbox probably say that, yeah that's too late now.
Without you all right?
When I got round you, yeah good gas money.
Tradition. Oh my god, cow man.
Obviously you end up going to Virginia doing your thing. You had a real interesting situation because you came right right at the end before they really started with the n I L deals. How do you feel about that, man, because you was going crazy. They was about to give you taller hands bro money if you was there for.
Sure, Like I missed it by years, So they introduced it the yeah I left and it.
Wasn't like for real.
It's like a little like pocket change or whatever. Then the next year is when it really hit and I'm sitting here on the two way.
Least how much you think you would have got from Virginia like being there, I'm not even gassing.
At least a million at least easy for at least because me Ty and D like at least a million. You put a chip up, you put a banner up in Virginia. They may have took it after we lost the NBC, but then they would have given.
It right back. Yeah, that's the problem.
If they gave you the n I y'all as to a sixteen y'all walking camaral keys, that's funked up. So you can't do that. If it's mine as mine, that's what y'all talk about me. Any given, this school is gonna be on that soon.
Bro, it's funny to say, Bro, they're not gonna be they are.
They are eventually, they're gonna be like, I need that back because you're not doing what you see blue Chips.
I've been like already spent it.
Matter in fact, you don't know what's crazy. When you was in high school, I had never seen you play. I didn't know who you were, but y'all heard word of mouth about you, like, yeah, Kyle got cold over there at l C. So for people that don't know, l C is on the east side of Indianapolis, and that's kind of like.
The athletes are usually black.
Let's just say that, like the basketball team usually black, right, So they like, how got cold? So I'm like, I'm looking for this black dude I type of moment on YouTube and it's you. I'm like, hold on here, go to LC like hell no, And then I seen your swagger. I'm like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah Kelly.
Yeah he hoop, yeah, he hoop hoop.
Yeah. Did you always have that confidence though?
Yeah, I think it hit by middle school. So I for those who don't know, I couldn't.
Even shoot into a high school. Now that's crazy. I used to shoot.
I was a slasher, like like Reggie Man, like this Reggie went in, I ain't going okay, And I was like a slasher, like throwing no look passes and you know off the triple.
Yeah, that type of thing. And then high school I stopped growing, you know, six one six on a good day, buck fifty five in high school and so I had to really get to work on my jumper.
But yeah, I always had that confidence.
Just I don't even know where it comes from, to be honest, Like, I just like whenever I was on the ultra competitive and so I didn't like losing. I didn't like anybody showing me up, and so I was like I just put in the work.
And I think that's where it comes from.
Was it was tough.
He was killed you crazy.
I was hot because I had an a team at that time, but he was playing on the Adidas circuit and I had a Adidas team and I remember I was like, why we don't got him?
You played with the ale he was he was Indiana.
I was like, whow we don't got him, and they was just like, we don't know hit want sure thought about it though, look at our recruit.
Who was let's put a finger out, who up recruit doing bill.
Like that.
I can't remember who it was, but I just remember we had a table the circuit at that time, and I was just wondering, like, what's up while we.
Don't got him? Like yeah, here killing But.
Obviously he was in Virginia going crazy the A c C you played in the real Like who was the hardest person I had to go against?
I mean Jason Tatum.
That was because so Virginia is obviously known for for defense as well, and like I never seen until I got to NB, I never saw somebody get buckets with great defense, like Isa Wilkins was the A c C Defense Player of the Year and he was strapping him. But he wasn't because that's crazy, you know what I mean? Like that it was incredible, know.
What you mean? That's crazy strapping him as well? We got to clean up. That's why you got trapping him?
Was like you actually strapped him.
That's oh my god. I can't let nothing.
Because I want to hear this story. Let me get that's crazy, b I.
He's playing great defense, great dese and it didn't matter. He was still getting to it and to him and then Zion my junior year.
Oh, they was a commercial, yeah, yeah, yeah, Oh that's when he blocked the hunt shot in the corner.
He's jumping the paper, what the fuck?
And that Lebron was there he yeah, rondoing them and they was sitting right on the baseline.
Where was that game at.
They're the only team to beat beat the same year, maybe just twice.
As a Lobo fan, I fucking hated y'all because y'all was gonna always beat everybody and score like sixty five points.
You was gonna have twenty five.
Y'are gonna play some crazy ass defense, and the team is gonna have forty two.
I hated when y'all was cold.
That's why. But junior year, we switched it up. We finally started scoring a little more. Defense was still there, obviously, but he finally like we we got the freedom that he talked about when he.
Was recruiting your junior year, you and d Hunt. I was like, yeah, y'all was called. Yeah. I was like, they got it.
Yeah.
I knew y'all was gonna win that year. I bet my money with y'all that year.
We got you right, Yeah, got I was especially I ain't gonna yeah, I was gonna win.
But I knew that was gonna like that half.
I'm just saying, no, I just I knew y'all was going to be a really good team though, because y'all gotta.
Yeah, that's what I thought for sure. I didn't think Duke was gonna win. I thought they had too many people. I might eventually somebody gonna get mad, and like in the tournament start gunning.
R J. Beard did what I thought he would.
Do, and we did think we were gonna play them tho because there was on the other side, Yeah in Michigan State and yeah.
But I knew r J.
Barr to do what I thought shout but he did put thirty shots.
Yeah, draft stock Yeah. Respect. So talk at the game, so for you, you know what I'm saying.
To lose, to lose the first round, to come back the next year playing the national championship. How was that final run for y'all, because like that final four is probably crazy, especially for you because you was going to off. You was talking ship the free throw line. Yeah, you've seen that picture turn up historic moment. That's easily I'm.
Gonna have that. I just bought a house here India. I'm about to put that in the man k for sure, as should. He was sitting like this sound was gonna choke at the free throw line.
And then and then he's good. He's tapping in the next.
After I hit, After we're celebrating, he's like sitting on the ground like I usually don't talk unless you start talking to me.
And then I'll get after that Indiana ship right there.
Yeah, but yeah, I mean the weight off my shoulders or our shoulders after we want it all was?
How was that party going back to Virginia. It was that.
So we're in Minneapolis.
We just don't don't worry about it's nothing good. Yeah, we just we just hung out with the family. Minneapolis. They give you nothing. I played, there's nothing.
I'm just saying. I'm like Ship, he got his Rick Fox.
Gave it couldn't ain't no motion out there. The funniest thing. Somebody said, Hey, when you see this NBA logo, what does remind you of? And it was a Minnesota terrible logo and somebody two jes I hate them to.
Keep no, but what did y'all do?
Bro?
Did y'all really celebrate? Did y'all go crazy with the champagne pause?
But that's not even am Okay, I'm gonna keep it being.
I'm gonna keep it a being. Everything is said, even when you go overseas and do your thing, Bro, don't ever let them motherfucker champagne with your mouth. Okay.
The count on the pocket, Yeah, I like like Chris, he's going out names.
I like that throwing out be poor to do that.
The grip, Yeah, Chris Roster his head back a litt buddy, though.
It ain't nothing he ain't heard before. Sure a bucket. I'm half respected. Yeah, he definitely Hall of Fame. But it was fun.
The week after about the week after and then we all left, like draft, it was about three days and like, let's enjoy ourselves, right, Uh, No, class, nothing like that.
And then he was going to class.
Yeah, like number two public schools in the country. You haven't listen two point eight two point I'm just getting by. But you had to be there for sure, Damn, that's them three days.
We was good, may said anything.
It was probably good beforehand when y'all got that laws of sixteen days.
Like yeah, after don't miss an hour.
Damn, that's crazy. Then we all left, so I mean we were. I was there like a week after and then yes, I ain't. None of us have graduated yet nothing.
So so was you for sure leaving? Like did it ever like cross your mind? Like me, I might come back.
If and I was there, I would have thought about it a lot hard so for me, like, uh, I don't know. I written, I written, wrote down my goals, like when I went to college, and I accomplished everything I wanted to, like the national player of the year wasn't really like I probably could have been in contention the next year, but that wasn't important to me. Uh, And so I did everything I wanted to get my
jersey retired. I'm an I wanted won the championship. I was all acc want like all these accolades or whatever, and we won as a team.
I'm straight, So I was good.
That is How was your draft process.
It was weird. Man.
Like again, I'm six two like Bucks seventy.
Like, it was tough.
I did sixteen workouts and my best two workouts I was the Pacers and uh and the Kings and Pacers like literally best I've ever played probably.
In my life at that point.
And and I go to GM's office and he basically told me they weren't like interested, essentially, like right after this is like right after the workout.
N B A, Yeah, they don't. They don't. No offense to you.
But at that point we were leading the league and white people, I don't think another one.
I hear that.
That's fine.
We would have had to drop TJ. McConnell for but we would have had four white people on the team. That's that's the NBA. Fine, you can't have four white people NBA team. I'm happy that you're the Pacers. I think it was my rookie year. They had done Leavy, Troy Murphy, Jeff Foster, Jeff Foster, Coroachnain't that fucking h.
You played with Jeff Foster?
Yeah, I draw the ship out of me.
Who was the backup?
Travis Best? What the it was like? Travis Deen or something. We had Hansbrough brother too. It was Tylers Burrow, Ben's Burrow. I think T. J. Ford was on that team. Only that my life was a j R.
Smith and Chris Smith because if you want me to be a Nick, you gotta signe my brother because going crazy when they when they had that Sham's report where his brother like, yeah he signed back in Milwaukee, my boy, I'm playing with Constance and the nice nice you you tapped in?
Who was the guards and Sacramento when.
I got drafted? Yeah it was Fox buddy healed. I got a question for you after this, go ahead? Who was Corey Joe? Who is that? Was? He was? He was? He was a real one for sure? Uh a was there?
Luke Wallams first first year, I think he started on six was a tough year man. But it was a great locker room though for real, I mean we weren't we weren't very good and and all that, but we had a great locker room.
Like it was tough, are you? You didn't get to for the like the beam Ship. No, I wasn't there for that. Man didn't get hit to like the bab ship because that was crazy. It was because this is a new front office. That's why I got. I mean, I'm not gonna say that's why I got.
Cut Butt was the GM and he loved me, and then there was there and he just wasn't his guy.
It's just fine. So yeah, I don't.
I don't wish I was there, said that I wish, I wish I would have stuck in Miami.
I'm not gonna lie. I thought that was it, but I thought it was it too.
Hey man on the spot, Holler Burton the fox y'all all away.
It just depends, man, how I mean, I'm listen, I'm just keeping a buck I'm I'm way.
I'm super cool with Tyree. It's like my guy, and.
He's better for h Like if I wanted to play with somebody, for sure, Tyrese and getting a bucket. Though, I'm gonna go Fox. That may Ra ain't silly.
He's so athletic, fastest with the ball on the last maybe, oh my god, crazy. I got a story about Fox. He retired me, him and Darius Garland retirement shout DG. They retired me. I had to play Fox. They Fox didn't retire me. Darious Garland retirement. Fox made me want to go to the bench. I was like, yeah, I'm ready to come off the bench.
Man.
He was running so fast one game, I swear to god, he just kept running at me.
I'm like, nigga, do he think I'm sweet?
But he can change directions going oh yeah, my.
Knees still suffering from them changing directions.
He top in the league.
He was running so fast. I'm like, what what did I do to him? Like why he want to why you want to go at me? Own that? I'm like, did I do something? But I remember I dunked on that. Nigga, you got on that and I said, damn.
But after that he tried to kill me ever since then, I'm gonna go.
To twenty five nights.
It was easy Sea, Like, I mean, like Teresa better, like all around player and in my nold but I like tycause, like you said, you want to be on the court with him, Like how I watch how scouting y'all watched him play for the Pacers one hundred times in the group, just like Jail because of like everybody wanted to play. Buddy Hill was shining and everybody played great. And then when he got hurt. You see how drastically they fell off, so I was like, damn, that lets me.
Know how good he is cold bro. But then I watched Fox this year. Yeah, he did turn off the level. He took over the playoffs and it looked crazy.
It looked like this is a superstar, like he had this team looking amazing.
So but for me, it's just like teach it is you can't go wrong.
But to Tyres, that's forty percent minimum from three every single year.
And Fox is gonna fluctuate.
He might shoot tougher shots sometimes, but it's gonna fluctuate and then facilitating.
I got Tyrese he's bigger. Like seeing there and Fox close our games in the playoffs. He got a lot for me.
He got like a dog game that I can just take. I would love to see Tyres in the playoff moment.
I think next year.
That's what I'm saying. You're a Fox who like he support, can't go back? Ye who like you know, I'm cool, my baby mama. Everything's good at home. He's smooth. Even when I watched him play at the pro a Disney run ship, I'm like, he's so chill, bro. He like, oh we can do your thame.
B Yeah, like he he got that good blend of like I'm a pure point guard. I can get you the rock. I can get twenty five, but I'm gonna get you the rock. And that's what I like about him because that's how I'm not to him. But that's how I played, like I really see other people kill and that makes me.
He was real passive, all right, he was was now that we on that. I like school, bro, Like, you know, you had a hell of a career, bro, but you was just so passive all the time.
Like, Bro, I played with Joe Johnson, Bro, jam you play with d I left him with Paul George. You gotta be passive like, but I found like you could shoot more with it.
I could have. I could have shot more.
They wanted to shoot he did. Yeah, I mean, but that was a different conversation. I still have mante to the Mississippi Bullet.
Real GDP gift of all time.
But speaking of Disney Runs, you know what I'm saying.
You got that organized of the city, good basketball, tell people about it.
Yeah.
So this runs a pro am me and my trainer, UH put together. So it's called Disney Runs cause my trainer is Dereck Grant. He was a Harlem glow trotter and his name was Disney Grant. Back in the day, I was going to ask you what I was. Yeah, So it was cool how I met him too, because somebody us like, yo, you gotta come work out with this dude. I didn't really have a trainer, and I was trying to get my shot right again, like I'm going to high school, and they're like, you got to work out with him?
Used to be a hollow globe trotter.
Like, man, I'm not about to go up there and spend half court shots.
Whatever.
Ended up going because my man's and so we went and it was great, and so we hit it off.
We've been together ever since.
But but yeah, so Disney runs, man, we'd be having, you know, a couple thousand people come every every week.
My boy Jeffrey playing in it. He's passive in that too.
Yeah, I ain't gonna lie. My boy put on a performance verse verst y'all. Yes, I didn't get a real, real highlight real. I don't like that.
But no, look it's crazy. He says he's chilling. Then when I'm guarding them, he ran me over like he was right straight.
All right, where I'm from the hood. I grew up in Well, the white dude on the court. I got a question though because of that though, Like did you experience that though, because like when I was growing up, my dad used to be like, all right, when the white dude's on the court, like we gotta attack him. We got attack him. But like trying to attack you and you could hoop. I know what is probably was like a ship for sure.
And I listen, I'm not no lockdown defender, but like I know how to get after it. Yeah, yeah, I found you and they didn't call like I know how to like you definitely felt me just got out. I just got thrown into the fire at a young age. And I played up in high school. Always play seventeen you so like I was if I played varsity as a freshman.
Like kill I speak on behalf of black people. I see you torch a lot offs.
Like we can talk about it for sure, mister basketball.
Learn quick. We was in the mix.
So you know you Pike, that's l En. That's now on the I'm about to go look at your highlights. I'm gonna go see your games against Pipe now, bro, I got the film.
He destroyed a lot of people though.
A lot of you get on pipe. How much you get on pipe, I couldn't tell you to be thirty five? Who's on pipe?
I never I don't think. I don't think I always had twenty. I guess him usually, but I don't think I had.
Who I want to it was on pipe. Must look up.
But speaking of the program runs, talk was on yes, oh yeah, juice juice?
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah cool. That's that's a good team.
Speaking of program runs, we ever get any type of basketball similar to what we got in the lockout where everybody's going praising the program.
Now, I could ship home from broken.
Foot, damn, I think so that was the last off. Yeah, so that's the best basketball I've ever seen in my life. I know what organized, but them lockout prom ruins. What's crazy because we got to see all the players we like play with each other in one big ass setting.
You got to say, who was really like that? And they were playing for real? Because like not for really, you know, so do you make those phone calls but to get the players?
Yeah?
Yeah, he tapped in exhausted.
I taket every single person that's there, and I gotta usually hit.
Him up more than one.
You know, everybody Hollywood and there's somebody and they'll be like, yeah, I be there and then like an hour before the game, I can't make it and I got to feel that spot in thirty minutes.
Yeah, that's why I had quit. We had the program before y'all had it at the Factory.
I quit.
I bound out basically because it's like it takes too much to have people come like, yeah, you know, I don't got a lot of patience. So like if somebody said they not coming on, yeah, yeah, yeah you got I got one more year.
I got one more year of like you got it lit, now you gotta keep going.
It's like we're just gonna keep going, but of me doing everything, respect one more year.
I respect that.
Yeah, Delegate, We as a state and as the city got too much time for us to be arguing about hooping in the summer, Like it's okay, we're the best state in basketball, are the best city?
I think?
So what basketball? Might we kind of fell off a little bit? The best listen from from uh maybe not from three to seven for sure, No three to like eighteen.
Yeah, y'all giving us too much love?
No we had, we had an we almost had an NBA player from like absolutely.
But saying being the best for fifteen years. But here's the thing.
You gotta think he and he knows for sure, and he gonna know now that he's coaching like we got. It's not just the players, it's like the schemes and the coaching. The atmosphere is like it's you're not different and you can't touch this.
With like look at it.
Look at Ben this year understood. I'm telling y'all like ass to say we had a fifteen year run, y'all, that's crazy.
I'm not gonna say the best player.
I'm not the best like I'm talking about about Cow Cow.
But all right, but just think about it, like this year we got a kid from Cocomo.
Yeah, Flory he top five, We got Jay, We got yln Harrison to Jalen Harrison.
But is only gonna be a.
Kid from Cocobo.
Last. But think about we had last year we had kid from Cathedral.
Oh yeah, come on, shout the book in that shoe, come on, like it just keeps kind of going though.
Trace he was got great, bro, we have great talent. I'm just saying to say we had a fifteen Like from oh three, it's no disrespect when y'all was in school cal but from for real oh three to O seven it was lit man.
That was That was for sure the best.
That's what everybody was. Yeah, that was a crazy time period, minimal it was like it was. It didn't matter if you if you missed the pike in since the game, you can go see such and such point. You can go see Joshman Roberts played somebody and it was cool. You weren't tripping like when y'all was in school, Bro, you was a ticket, was a ticket. Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
So yeah, same know what I'm saying.
They was years apart though it's twenty sixteen.
Yeah, got twenty fourteen, fourteen, twenty sixteen, and then you had move Yeah shout mook.
They was dukie though they had.
But then you had T Davante and you had RJ with they listen hundred and that's.
When they brought it back, that r J class, RJ Hunter class. That brought it back, y'all class like for you cow cow.
I guess what, guys, we have.
A nation wide audience now, so we'll have to talk about our Indiana high school basketball. Get on your hours. But obviously, you know what I'm saying was a sacrament and then you know what I'm saying, there's some time and that.
Was go for hours or a while. I'm just here. I'm just here. We're not gonna grow up here, We're not.
I don't even about that. That's not a human possible.
Moving on, moving.
Sacramento. A couple of years in league, and then you got to Miami. How was playing the South Beach because you were shooting the funk out?
The bottom story was was crazy. So I started off. I went to Cleveland on exhibit ten because there's no disrespect. I thought that was the worst roster in the league. And I was like, I want to make a roster spot. I mean, they was like had good players obviously, but I didn't think top to bottom.
They was that good.
So I was like, I'm gonna go there. I'm trying to fight for a roster spot. Man training camp. There was no live like five on five nothing. I didn't see.
The court was the coach uh bigger staff.
Wow, they didn't have no lot of I mean we're talking like a couple of minutes here and there and it was starters versus five and I'm fighting for spots thirteen, fourteen to fifteen, so like, and there was just no real opportunity for us, and so I didn't even get a two way there. I played with their GLE team for ten to eleven games and was playing really well. And then I got COVID right before the G League showcase in Vegas.
Damn.
And it was during Christmas. I'm stuck in the apartment in Cleveland and I'm getting all these calls for ten days during I got to turn them down, like Boston Orlando. I got turned all these down, and then finally on the last day I test negative. Miami calls it like.
Ten at night and says you have a six a hand flight.
And I didn't have any basketball shoes because they're all at the gym and I was in quarantine, so I was stuck in the I go straight from the apartment in Cleveland, no basketball shoes to San Antonio where we played, and there's no like real sneaker stores in San Antonio.
That's a little week mall.
Yeah, and I went there because I had to get I had to get We played that day, so.
I know what he's saying, because they ain't got no stories. And so I I get I land in San Antonio or whatever. Ten a m. We play that night against the.
Spurs, and I go to the meeting, and during when I usually would take a nap, I go to I gotta get some shoes. Like I didn't tell the equipment STAF because I I don't know. I knew, I was trying to get it right. I go somehow they have what the Kobe's?
Uh yeah, uh seven?
So I want to say, no, no, no, they had like this. It was the last stoor I checked. I went into Champs nothing. I went into like these random ones.
They had nothing.
I go and they had the they had the vacuum sealed shoes.
I got to have something. There's a reseal.
So who did some what the Kobe's that somebody else wore before?
They was too small?
I wear twelve they or elevens all I had and they had seventeen that night.
Uh damn man, So you ain't running them back though you run? He won them again after that? Yeah, yo, your feet for sure? You like bow wow like my side. You her you got black totails right now?
Sure?
Sure, I forgot shoes in the NBA. Is you got turf toe afterbout after after my first thing day. When I got the second today day, I had on my shoes.
Probably like seven you like, you're damn foster kids.
You could have got some shoes, man, come on, man, I respect that was I mean with the exhibiting you make like ninety thousand or something like that, but thirty seven thousand, so.
Definitely was in the podcast.
But so I killed for two weeks, like like real good, you did not even like I was playing really well and everyone got healthy and they had a they had a deep roster like they had some some some players, so I knew I wasn't gonna like play minutes minutes again. But I thought, like when they signed me to the two way for the rest of the year, like I was set in the next year, maybe we get on rock with you not guaranteed or roster spot.
Something like that.
And I was there for like three months or something before they come Yeah, that's crazy because like you said, you see that team flush, I should have been on there.
I should be shooting the game.
It's and three.
Yeah, I mean like it was weird though, because they like supposed to told me when he cut me, he was like and I love spoke like he was very honest with me always whatever. When he cut me, it was it was like it was kind of cool, like because he was like giving me a lot of props and stuff, and like walking into that locker room, that was a tough locker room.
Just walk into bro.
YEA, Markith Morris, Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, PJ.
Tucker O G PJ.
Dudes that have done it before and like big personalities and last money, Like it was tough to just walk in there. And he gave me props to like being able to adapt to that, and I was like, I take pride in that, like being able to get along with everybody.
And all that type of thing. And then in practice, I was like a practice player.
I was try Young one night and in practice and then I would be James Harden the next and like and I was mimicking their games for.
Him, and he like gave me props for that, and I'm like, that's why I was so confused that y'all cut me, because I was doing everything right.
Yeah, you know what I mean, that's the league, bro. Like like we was talking about before we got on camera. You could be doing everything right, you could be killing and it just might not be your time.
And it was.
I understand that for one hundred percent because my first two years I just couldn't understand why I couldn't get.
In the game. But then you realize this dude is making thirty eight million dollars. Yeah, like.
You ain't about to make me look stupid out here, Like I spent thirty eight on him. He playing, But come with the territory.
It's all good.
It worked out. That's crazy, all right, man. So obviously the best part of shows when we get to talk about it. That ain't basketball. Be here your girl Lizo. They brought her up on allegations. What's going on?
Man, that's just the Illuminati working they Man, that's just the Illuminati working their magic.
Illuminati. Yeah they got Lizzo.
Yeah, they got her. They got the first plus sized queen to you know, get out there and echa fool, say she's doing all these random rituals.
Like her allegations are crazy. Yeah, somebody walks to get a cheesecake. Yeah, bros, that's what it said.
That was a joke. That's hilarious.
Bro, I thought it was real too, that everything else that she's doing banana, that's real, That's.
What I'm saying. I would have believed that too. Who works Dwyight Howard or Lizzo right now?
Liz O Vio like the produce right that I gotta go, Lizo, I gotta go.
Look, could you fun with it? But I'm not a but no either.
That's crazy clear. That's about the horse saying. I don't want me to say that point over there, I like you.
Said she violated the produce. I'm like, I don't really, but I don't care. Do what you want with them. But I'm saying I just wanted you'll take like who you got lizend real twelve?
I bow, I bow gracefully.
Bro.
Oh well you.
Forget it was just like listen, she's so she's so strong because she had underwear of the basketball game. Anybody what they passed off at the basketball game is going to be asking strong.
Because she built like my fucking Mark Henry. That's why I'm strong.
Like that's like were talking about the heart. We didn't talk about we didn't talk about.
Man, right, But I got a question though, bro, Like, now you know you still continue your professional career. Like what you what tunes you listening to get you going before the game?
Man, I'm a I'm kind of an old head, not like not too like nineties ahead, but like early two thousands, like and sometimes playing with it.
Rock with it, okay, or or like it's getting And I was in high school. Stop its crazy.
No, I'm talking like fifty or like when I was in high school. Man, I didn't I didn't listen to.
I didn't listen to nothing but fucking uh g Herbal in my ten or three hundred because that's all my my team has listening to and for the games, and so.
Damn I'm that much older than you, g Herbals.
That's when his musical was good back then, Kobe, Yeah you follow that was but yeah.
But made you're supposed to be my hoss horrible every twenty dollars. You're supposed to a kid for you have.
A mixed baby. I know, of course now I'm talking about back then. You listen to face Oh that was all bad that.
He got a problem with people's lineage. You know what I'm saying.
That's a key word in the show. He likes to you know what I'm.
Saying no, if you was listening to herdal Funck with that like you was happening early.
So if you was that where you graduated.
I graduated twenty sixteen, so twenty twelve to sixteen, ye you was a bad that's right.
When nine years I was, I was going to Cray twenty sixteen when the speaker knockers r P, he did, I'm talking about.
He just got no.
The chief keif music was for sure less drill was going to drill. There we go drill music.
Now Now I'm I'm a little more calm than I was back then. So rod wave is about. That's what I like.
Show me some love.
Like it makes me a little sad, But to be ready to come home at the.
Light is my ship.
Bro greenlighted those something though, Damn Cay in the country listen everything he was Jimmy too long. You listen to the country that's low key.
While we hit it off because we played cards together on the plane, and then I could listen to anything because he's very versatile for sure, and I could get with that.
You could have talked to Jimmy before he got the dreads in.
Man.
Jimmy cool as hell so cool podcast Forever has love for Jimmy.
I got love for Jimmy.
But my god, one of the coolest cast for sure that I spent time with and he and he was super cool to me. Like again, I was on a ten days, like he didn't have to show me no love, and it wouldn't and I wouldn't have.
Thought twice about it.
Just a bitiness, okay, but he was like, you want to come get a cup of coffee in my house because he got a big face with them. So yeah, and we always we played cards met him, Gab and PJ or playing cars, so PJ cool, hell to losing one.
Shot the pjues. I'm sure he was on losing Internet.
Yeah they professionable, Come on, bro, I say.
But I always would talking down because like they're trying to play like one hundred dollars hands five hundred.
Especially PJ. Let's just people got all that money men.
Yeah yeah, yeah, I'm not getting no card game with you man. We started playing like Phase ten for money, very ridiculous.
You get all that money, man, that's a firm reunion game.
The reunion that you know you said you said you played football when you was young.
Yeah.
Yeah, So who your team, Cincinnati Bengals. Is that always been your team or since I was born? That's fucked up. I know I had a rough life recently. About to say, Joe Burrow, I'm three one seven until I died.
But my dad's from Cincinnati to raise went to U see like yeah, and so I had no choice.
Yeah, and he's he passes it on to me. So my son's about to be too. Now he's a Bengals fan.
So he's eighteen. And if you want to go on somewhere, all good.
So why you ain't go to U c.
DA Corona Mann? I mean we were talking, we brought it up earlier. I don't know if he's ever like offered the white person before before.
You still you know what I mean? I mean for real, man, you on some ship. You're not even talking about it. That was moot. That was Mook Secondary school. Yeah, yeah, I would have.
Went there, d and I you if one of them would have like correctly.
Yeah, we talked about high school. If you would have went to U see you yes, would have had a baby.
But like my dad went to you see, he was cool Melvin Levitt back in the day. I grew up watching Bouncey Washings and.
Knuckles. Yeah, east Side for real, for real?
Feel oh bro, I know bro that as you talk, you tapped in with high school basketball.
I was going to everyone, he said, twenty sixteen. I said, what the I was like really playing. He was at the Dollars game. He was in the league, man, I was like having a ball yeah, in the league, Like, oh hell yeah yeah. I was like, yeah that was the All Star Yeah, before we get out of here. I don't know if y'all seen the quot to that by Rudy Gobert. Did y'all see it?
The virginity thing? What do you say?
He his first three in the game, he said, I like, I lost my virginity.
I thought you were about to give him a green story. He's just a gun about the same way a liar you see a green.
I think I believe what thing was he? All the Lakers he had, he had a Jerry Crow magic them all, Bro. Yeah, magic was for throwing the sist. Tell me he never get behind him back, not off the court. He was off the court.
I don't believe he's cat. I believe I.
Believe it, Bro. It's always good a good person in the league, Bro, so at least.
One your first. Yeah, I played with a good person in the league. You played with Uh it was me and Kyle Korver, Absolutely, but.
I'm talking about No, that was move Mary mind they played with Man of the Year. I thought you played with Jackson Collin.
I did play with Jason did. What we're talking about virginity? Why you why are you always going?
Because he said, Bro, he has said, I you.
Appointed at when you talk. I didn't say this.
Y'are talking about niggas losing their virginity. First of all, I don't even know what I don't even know why Rudy go burt is saying that he's such a gump talking about people like thinking.
About every talking with Cob happen microphone and then got it immediately.
He's a shut down the NBA on with Dobin positive.
I hated he signed contract after that.
Yeah, that's why he left.
Und He got.
Two Minnesota boy. Y'all got some moves to make.
I got some ro niggas from that line. Ya got Jeffrey t being really probably about we made out like some fat rats. That's a crazy company to departments man through the crowd, the jersey and the crowd when they got the player. It was the hardest thing ever. Okay, all right, since when you're talking about that for I know, we gotta go. But are they really about to have like a season championship.
Yeah, I'm gonna tell you right now.
Boy, if I see a banner in the stadium about the mid season championship, I'm a sucking loser.
That's gonna be calld fired. Though, Bro, what like, what is it like? It's for a trophy you get a million, but the team a million dollars. I think it's somethingbout that. It's a money intent of two team you get an extra.
Kyle.
Yes, the TV Disney runs on steroids because the summer brings. If you think of you the last if you.
Nine through thirteen, fourteen, whatever, it's on the rosting, you hype his hell.
Yeah, I was thinking I didn't know the benefits of it.
Y'all know, I'm hype as hell if I get a million dollars and I'm sure yeah I'm gonna portion of it. It's like, Yeah, you gotta think it's gonna be your time to shine too, because the main players ain't gonna play in that ship.
Yeah, well that's true. That's good point. Now I have a question about behind that.
Are they gonna count that towards the limit that you have to have games play for the sensives, because if they do that and force they head, that's crazy because you know you got to play at least sixty five to get this point.
Is that gonna be a part of that nafety too?
And you gotta play there and you gotta go hooping the fucking playing, and then god forbid something happens to where somebody same the rest of the season. Then what because they're not gonna respect that enough. I mean, they're still playing eighty one right the game exactly. I'm trying to tell you, I ain't played in a minute. Yeah, but you played for minute, but I ain't never played. I played eighty two one time, right for him? Hey, mister eighty two, I play. I played eighty two one time.
That's because I was in the contract year. That was what the pacers I swear to got. Everybody thinks he then ships I did not finess, But that's what I'm saying.
I had to stop arguing with motherfuckers. I'm like, he's just after I watched like clips of you talking about it look like I hate the It looks like you hate it. I'm like, no, people know they are bro. How they put it like it could be like if you don't know him, I'm saying, if I didn't really know him, I'd be like, bro, he's a piece of ship.
I saw somebody in that way. You know him now?
No, no, no, that's my nigga though. But I'm just saying, like, I know he really cared about hooping though.
I literally saw something the other day about the podcast and it was like, Jeff has not told the positive stories.
In the NBA camp.
Absolutely, I mean, you haven't though real ship. He does. People I do, but it's like that getting overshadowed.
I told you, yeah, people like mass like what I'm gonna tell Yeah, I made one hundred million dollars.
You should.
You can't turn up. But I'm it was like I don't want to hear like, but it is. I do tell stories like how I like, I see got Kyle's guys like Kyle, they come in to the league, they get the opportunity. He made the most when these in Miami.
But its just talking about yourself though, because they feel like you about myself.
Like that's like.
Like he don't want to he can say how he killed some people and then you're gonna slender him for that.
Yeah, they're gonna be like, oh, he but he only did it. Want this Like I act like I didn't hit a game winner on somebody or something, but it's like I did that.
Because people be under the post like putting your stats may be ready.
Oh yeah, but that's wild man. You can't care argue with it that you can't win Internet, Like, I guarantee you.
I know.
It was so crazy when we all lost in the first round.
Oh boy, I didn't know, but one of the one of the ways we kind of got over it was kind of funny.
We was all at h Isaiah Wilkinson. I mentioned him earlier and uh it was like ten of us.
From the team and we're all reading who had the worst DM and bro some of them are so outrageous, bro, like like I hope your mother dies type Bro. This is a first I was a basketball game. Second off, come.
At me all you want what what they hashtag was supposed to many last but it was crazy.
We literally every time somebody started talking a d M it was worse than the one before. That's crazy.
You should have seen you should have seen what they said about what I didn't even say the way I said, the way he was still dote. Yeah, but I think I guess I said I was better than.
Man what you would really agree with his take to. But but I tell them all the time, like when we clip stuff up on the show, people don't really.
They don't watch the whole time.
We just had an athlete discussion and people saying the names that we really talked about. So when he said that and we go off of really me and him for real, it's just the player. We weren't saying Dwayne Wade's career, James Harden. We're talking about skill for skill, what can each other do? So people start talking about, well, James Harden don't got no championship, James Harden always getting put out first round, but he still can get forty weird lose.
But you know it's important about that.
Shout outs to the five twenty game people who fuck with us understand that explained all that. Like, let me ask you a question since we hear we're still talking so we take too long, But who your top five shooting guards.
Since everybody's on my case, we ain't put you on the So how we do this? We eliminate championship.
Were talking about talking about like and you like like I mean, like, Kyrie is one of the best players ever touched basketball.
He's not going to be listed top five, you know what I mean. But you can put on five for this.
It's yours.
Kobe d Wade. No, I'm not doing that's fair, Kobe d Wade. I need like a list like Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan, Jordan's team, Matt ray Allen. I'm just throwing our names.
Don't know Johnson t Max for sure, I'm putting in there.
You might have said it ray Allen, Like, how are you gonna argue with that? Because he did he did it two ways. He did it with like, I'm a dunk on you, I'm a.
What about Vince Carter? I'm good? No, no, no, I love get on his ass, hold on fect.
This one of the greatest.
Like, I'm not going backwards. I'm just saying.
Rare is fucking Regie Miller your top five. He didn't make it.
It's hard to make it.
No, are you out of pocket?
Thank you?
Cal for coming on the five podcast.
Make Top five Shooting Guards.
Make sure you pull it to the Dizzey run hold on.
It's got Cobe, Mike d Way reality teammate with that I liked, I'm not taking Yeah, I'm not taking team.
The interviews with Kobe and t MA talking about like there's like they say, teammates.
The only one could ever beat Kobe one on one type like, yeah, I respect that.
You, but that's your five.
Player of all times, Kevin Garnett.
So like, I don't damn interesting. That's that's all right because because when.
I was younger, I told you I couldn't shoot. I was a little I was like six ft.
Like team back and no school KG like he was a stretch forward too, And this was you should have my games.
My KG like it was easy, like the fire he plays. You think KG better than Tim Duncan. Yeah, in this conversation, for sure.
Damn you out of pocket.
The U s A.
He was.
He was crazy.
He was going crazy in this conversation. We're talking about best basketball.
I'm sorry, but you're so young. So you was doing like this with your race card room on the carpet when they was really killing back in the day, I was Tim Duncan used to put on the they were in their prime and like KG is more exciting. KG is more excited. That's what I'm saying, bro you were.
Still he was watching? Did you mind?
Wait?
Bros?
For real, Broim is better than all the kids nowadays are saying Paul Georgia like is their goat?
That's tight?
That's respected to PG, but that was he's out of pocket.
But it's a lot of yeah, you think, all right, that's my last question, then we can go ahead and wrap it up. We think, Steph, did you have the guard Steph?
I did you?
Did you have to guard Curry?
Uh?
No? Okay? Ron Ship and Dame Dame?
Okay, Guy Dame or Steph was harder to guard Dame because Steph when he does he does the floppy actions and ship like I do that, So I haven't I know how to guard it a little bit and I never had.
The people will give me trouble is like C. J. McCollum, shake Gill just.
People would handle, not just handled.
I'm saying they got that, but like you don't know what they're about to do, like you have no clue and the changing place is crazy and Dame has a little bit of that, so him for sure was harder to guard for me. Yeah, but again Stephani pull from half court, you can't. Yeah, I think xanders the top of my guard.
Yeah.
I think he's cold too. It's hard for me to It was hard for me to guard stuff because he ran so much. Like I could guard you if you just do this, I'm cool with that, but when you start running around, that's why ain't like guarden Dame either. Like Dame didn't really pack the ball because he had passed it and play off then play with it.
Yeah, he just straight that's crazy, mind. I was, I was.
Repeat what you're saying, got it living in the churches.
But like Dame can like play both ways. Like it's like, that's crazy.
We ain't trying to call you on the show, bro.
Dame Cole.
It's always been a toss up between him and Kyrie for me, like who I thought, No, listen, they both goats, but I never could tell you who was better because they both killed. They both killed, they both get forty, they both averaged twenty eight. But Dame was always like not.
Like CJ. He cold too, But you Kyrie by himself. I ain't doing that. My favorite player.
When Kyrie was playing, especially in his primary he was on the teams he had Lebron and that team. Then he went to Boston and had other good players, and then even when he was in Brooklyn who he was playing with. So yeah, Kyrie is still Kyrie. He's still a guy, but he was still playing with people who were on the level as he was. Dame didn't have somebody who was on his level. McCullum is a really good borderline All star NBA player, but he wasn't on
He wasn't a superstar like Dame. But I would love to see Dame with that, and I don't know how he would respond because I don't know.
If you wait, you.
Think he's gonna happen, but I don't know if like I can't put I never seen I know Dame is that good, Like I know he's great, I know he's a goat, but I never seen him on that level like I seen Kyrie when he was going against Stephanim Like I seen Kyrie like one of.
The best basketball performances.
Give me that ball, Brian, like Brian, get me the rock like So that's why I know he's so cold like them two right there, they just different him, Steph and Russ.
Was crazy that Steph comparison with that.
And before we get out of here, to one thing, I didn't like what people responded about when we talked about c P three and Russ. Hey, we got respect for CP three. We know how good CP there is first ballace. Please do not underestimate how good Russell Westbrook was in his fucking problem. I know that Lakers ship got y'all talking crazy, but okay, see Russ when he was there by himself was a fucking problem.
Now Russ killed.
Everybody, So it's literally no, I don't even even pay attention to people talk about Russ like Kyrie, Russ, Steph Dame, they all was on a different plateau like CP. At one time he was up there with him. But as CP got older, he just wasn't the same. He just wasn't the same.
Fact New Orleans c P or Darren williams Utah Jazz d Will Will was a nasty bro was this is a real c P or d Will with the Utah for real Will d.
Will in Utah was crazy crazy that he so strong athletic and he could shoot.
Before he threw the ball at Gordon. That CP, I mean that.
Will they both? Was he got Jerry Sloan, Yeah, they both was a leade, though a tough one though c P was man. I went to wait for it because of C c.
P with Tyson Chandler and d West.
Bro And people forget that. I don't because he was my favorite player until I got older.
So what all right? I got this, all right, we'll we'll do a duo c P, David West, Darren Williams, Andre Carolinko. Carolyn was your.
Forty wieling boo.
Yeah, you take.
Them. If what I rather have, I'm taking David West. But if you're going off basically, actually, now I gotta go c P and d West. Now I'm thinking about I got to. Yeah, I didn't go on c but them having Tyson Chiller make a difference to because he had Cord back there.
MA was fired.
Bro, he went better. He was the first stretch five, Bro, he was better. We're gonna talk basketball, let's talk for man was the first stretch he was.
He was really good.
Bro.
He was cold. Bro. I don't like this. I don't like talking real bad.
I know we don't.
We don't do this. We don't do this. He was really cold though, Like, let's not get he was five bro.
Yes he was, he was he could Who was better him and my boy friend the Clippers Lumberjack Chris Yeah, oh was a post player.
Yeah, Chris Cambe was. Didn't rebound like Chris. Chris camber was twelve rebounds a game.
Yeah, and he was twenty was the.
Dude that like was sleep on the bench, not sleep but laying Yeah, allegations.
The game watching I told you watch watch you before we get out of here. Man, talk a little bit more about the Disney runs. Man telling people what they can pull up and support.
Yeah, for sure.
We do it up in Noblesville at Modo Sports Complex in Indiana. It's, uh, we do it kind of a U style. Like I said, I grew up watching dudes like Jeff and and Mok and all them. So I liked being able to see everybody like play basketball at the same time. And like you go from this court and he's hooping, someone gets duncked on over here, you
run over to her the court. So we go three games at once, and then we have a night game like the Premier game where we try to bring I stacked those teams with the best players.
You get out of it.
So, which do you play time every week? No? No, I don't do a good job doing.
That ball.
I get. He definitely gets some prontime games.
But on yours, yeah, he quit because he was doing that work.
Yeah work.
Get the fact that is the fact that we played every prome time game. I played that eight every time on yours, I bro, I played that every single time.
Yeah.
But it's really a dope, a dope run, and it's free. It's a good atmosphere, bro. Basketball atmosphere is really dope though. Absolutely. On that note, we're gonna get up out of here. Shout out to Complex Sports for the feature. Shouts to everybody who's been showing love to the podcastrat they appreciated, like share, subscribe, all that good ship. Will be back next week.
