Noah, we talked to about it. It's obviously a game of runs, but the Calves weren't cooling off until the final five minutes where that treacherous regression to the mean finally happened for them. So it's the progression and the regression of the mean on both sides. Right. So the Clippers for
all all this season have struggled mightily from downtown. Well tonight they go seventeen of thirty eight. But what I love the most is once they recognized they hit a cup on the fourth quarter, once they recognized they weren't nailing them consistently in that fourth quarter stretch, they started attacking the rim, They started gaining contact, they started getting to the free throw line, and all of that is what guided them back. It wasn't the shooting, It was the
aggressiveness. It was the mentality. It was getting stops, and so Cleveland started this game. Hair was not just on fire. Hair was what's past fire. The hair was the sun, the center the sun. Yeah, there was the core of the sun, the nucleus, the it was the what was the powerhouse of the cell. What was that? Oh God, it's been so long, got it. I'm removed the mitochondria of the sun, if you will. And so, finally, to your point, they
regress to the means. So the Clippers progress up, but they don't rely on it. The Cavaliers regress back, and they do somewhat rely on it, and the Clippers once that happened, they get stops. But and it wasn't just Cleveland missing shots. I think that's the biggest key. Also, Paul George had a huge block on Jared Allen. Terrence Man had a massive steel that led to a dunk that brought it to four. Those those are the plays. Those are the ones that are the punctuation. You finish those
possessions of great defense with a highlight. And what do we say all the time, Adam, Sometimes the dunk is more than a dunk, a block is more than a block of steel, is more than a steal. And all three of those things were true in those two plays. Sometimes a win could be more than a win. We will see with this team. You
mentioned Terrence Man, Norman Powell, you spoke with him post game. He had thirteen of his seventeen points in the fourth quarter and had a critical rebound down the stretch, just guys doing a little bit of everything out there to help come back and win this one. That's what it takes. It's all hands on deck. And that's what the Clippers did all last season. You know. That's the ironic part is this is what they did night in night
out last season. And not to say that they didn't have this. We knew that they had it in them, but they just didn't want to have to do this anymore. Yeah. I think that's the biggest key is that the Clippers were looking forward to the season that they could just play from ahead and be themselves and not have to be the comeback clips every single night. But they have it, and so the way they went about it was team basketball, and they've been missing some of that this season. But you look
at it. They had one, two, three, four, five, six players in double figures. They only had nineteen assists in this game, but the team defense was there. They forced seventeen Cavalier turnovers and the Clippers only turn it over nine times. That's Clipper basketball right there. Clippers win
one nineteen to one seventeen over the Utah Jazz. They come back down ten with two and a half minutes left and they'll be right back here Wednesday night taking on the Los Angeles Lakers. I know it would have to be the NBA Finals for these two teams to hook up, but it's not without or it is within the remal possibility, you could say. But the Clippers doing this without Kauai and beating the Calves were the number one team in the East during this game because Milwaukee lost earlier.
They were at the top of the they had won eighth straight. They were eight and one, now eight and two, and they're back in second place behind Milwaukee thanks to a comeback. Not gonna say for the ages because we've seen a thirty five point come back by the Clippers, We've seen a thirty one point playoff come back. This is what they do, but a little bit more impressive than when we saw last Monday night because of the level of
competition. It's one thing to come back late and beat the Houston Rockets in traumatic fashion with Paul George going off and has been this entire week. Your Western Conference Player of the Week was averaging and efficient thirty three six and five tonight has twenty six. Only had three points in the fourth quarter though,
but it was the biggest shy of the game. Paul George with thirty seven seconds left, just willing this team to victory again, going down the right alley into the trees, into the teeth of the defense of the Cleveland Cavaliers. They fouled him and somehow he got the layup to drop off the window. Anyways, we'll hear it man looking to get it in and doude for Paul George, top of the key, attacking on a coral. George down the right alley to the rim, fix it in, tun it in the
foul. Paul George out of the food boat. Superman flying hi he lef La, Noah Ego on the call, Katie Newton with the highlight, Paul George with the ridiculous circus shot to put the Clippers up three at one fifteen to one twelve with thirty seven seconds left, and they had to hold on by making some clutch free throws. Marcus Morris hit a couple, Reggie Jackson would hit all four of his attempts. This is a big time win for the Clippers. This is the type of wind that can have carry over and
they're taking on the Lakers by the way Wednesday night. Could something be born out of this victory like we saw two seasons ago against the Atlanta Hawks when they were down big and found a way to come back. Down twenty in that game, but down thirteen and the fourth quarter to the Calves, one of the best defenses in the league and a Cavaliers team that shot sixteen of thirty four from three, and we're hitting ridiculous shots. The start of the
fourth quarter in this one looked identical. It's what we saw yesterday against the Utah Jazz where the Clippers got into foul trouble, they got into the penalty. Calves were living at the free throw line and hitting threes and just unguardable shots. Donovan Mitchell eight of eleven from distance. I don't think eight threes for him is his career high, but eight of eleven might be his highest percentage from the outside when attempting ten or more. He finished with thirty and
then Kevin Love had a couple of long three pointers in the fourth. It looked bleak. The Clippers offense started to stall. They had ten points midway through the fourth, down by as many as thirteen, down by ten with two thirty nine left, and they showed some of that comeback clip heart, that mentality, the stay ready Clippers, you want to call him cliches,
They've been ringing true with this team for a while now. Norman Powell first went to the free throw line a few times, and Powell had thirteen to seventeen points in the fourth quarter, his best performance as a Clipper, one of the three guys I wanted to highlight, along with Reggie Jackson and of course Terrence Mann, who had the big steel and dunk just under the two minute mark to bring it to within four and this place erupted. That's when
you knew it was real. The comeback had life to it. More big free throws from Reggie Jackson and then Norman Powell didn't convert the n one, but a tough layup where he was fouled to tie it at one. Twelve before that Paul George and one that he would convert to put the Clippers up three. They never looked back. They win one nineteen to one seventeen over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Can this be something than to spark this squad where they
can start ripping off wins against quality competition. I know the Lakers are struggling right now. They lost big tonight to the Utah Jazz, no Lebron no pat Bev. But the battle for Los Angeles is always a good one. Both teams get up for it. Obviously, the Clippers have dominated the series recently. They've won thirty three the last forty matchups. I said that right, thirty three of the last forty matchups, and I want to say eight in a row. It's gonna be a good one though, And you just
hope some of this can translate into Wednesday's game. Because the Clippers played the right way drive kick swing. I mentioned Noran Powell I don't know how many hockey assists he had, but he was at the vanguard of the drive kick swing philosophy and movement. He was getting into the paint at will and making sure he kicked it back out. And that's how the Clippers shot seventeen or made seventeen threes, their best number on the season on thirty eight attempts.
That's forty five percent from three. I told you just give them some time, they're gonna progress to the mean. It's starting to happen. In three of their last four games, they've been well over forty percent from the outside. They have the personnel to be a great three point shooting team. We've seen it the last two seasons. Give it time, but you gotta stick to your principles. The reason you're also a great three point shooting team is
because you're getting open three pointers because of the drive kicks swing mentality. And I thought Norman Powell was fantastic intent on getting downhill. They create a lot of good looks for one another, he Terrence Man, Reggie Jackson. The intensity was there from the opening tip. Cavaliers led by six after the first quarter. Donovan Mitchell had four of his eight three pointers made in the first
quarter, just unconscious tough shots, thirty footers. It wants to be a splash, brother, but the Clippers just kind of they rode out the wave. Eventually, the Cavaliers were going to slow down with that hot shooting, and the Clippers went around in nineteen to five run in the last four minutes and nineteen seconds and the Cavaliers missed nine of their last ten shots. At one point, they went five minutes without a made field goal until that Mobili
dunk with twenty nine seconds left. Satistician for the star Dennista Gastino with the numbers there, but Clippers season high seventeen three pointers made after a season low just eight made yesterday. Remember this was back to back for both teams. But I mean the Calves finished their game in the afternoon, the Clippers they had less time to rest. Both teams playing at a breakneck pace in this one high scoring game. And I don't even think the defense
was that bad. You can't stop some of these shots from the outside both teams were taking. It was a three point shootout. Donovan Mitchell, he could have closed his eyes on some of these threes and they would have gone for him. I could not believe some of the shots he hit. And he's been getting thirty one on the season. Clippers set him to the thirty. Small victory there, big victory though in the comeback. And I mentioned Paul George and what he did with twenty six points, but he had a
block on Jared Allen late in the fourth quarter that was crucial. That was clutch. Aside from the Terrence Man steal and Dunky you had that a big rebound late by Norman Powell. Some of those little plays I was under the radar plays winning place. That's what the Clippers had to have. But they came together. Lamp City came together late in downtown Los Angeles was rocking tales
from the crypt Clipper Nations showed up tonight. Here they come back down thirteen and the fourth down ten with two and a half left to beat one of the best teams in the NBA right now, a Cavaliers team that is young, hungry and taking names, that has been searching. And the Clippers do so on a back to back after winning three in a row. They lose yesterday to the Utah Jazz, and it looked like the same scenario was playing out. Early in the fourth quarter, Clippers started to run out of gas.
They're going cold first, and that's why the Cavaliers got up by thirteen. But then the Clippers defensively and some shots finally didn't drop for the Cavaliers. Regressions to the mean can be a cruel and treacherous number that hits you just the wrong time, and it happened to the Cavaliers in this one. Finally they cooled off from the outside where they were shooting almost sixty percent through
the majority of the game from three slow and steady wins the race. Sometimes, I said during it, even if the Clippers lose this one, you saw a lot of good process tonight by the way they played, getting back to their fundamentals, getting back to what they do best, moving the basketball around the perimeter. Now, they only had nineteen assists on their forty makes. The Jazz had twenty nine, so the Clippers did still have some great
individual efforts. I thought Reggie Jackson put up a Reggie Mister June like performance where he was going at the defense, getting downhill, getting to the rim, putting pressure on it and got the floater to go. He looked different, He looked healthier, even though he was questionable coming in. You know, sometimes you get that adrenaline going. I put out a better performance. They have to focus more because they're playing through a little bit of pain.
Gave Reggie Jackson credit. Terrence Man, though this is the Terrence Man we saw the second half of last season. Same thing happened to start last year. Sol'll start for Terrence Man, but eventually started to put it together. Once he wasn't overthinking and he was just going out and playing. That's when he's at his best and he also has been fierce getting to the basket. I haven't mentioned Big Zoo yet, who finished with ten and nine as near
what he's been averaging. He did have a rough shooting night, miss some gimmes, but played thirty three minutes. Has been playing over thirty minutes per game this season. Heavy workload for Big Zoo. He's been an anchor. He's been maybe the best anchor defensively in the NBA so far this season. Not hyperbole. Within six feet nobody has been better closer to the rim than of Viatsa Zubos s nine seven, two five seventy. All right, I

both conferences. Utah's Eyes at the top of the West. Clippers had a chance in a close game early in the fourth quarter yesterday to take them down the Cavaliers as the game was going on, had hopped over to the Milwaukee Bucks and we're at the top of the East. Clippers beat them, they send them back to the number two spot in the East. But Clippers starting to play some better competition. We'll see what the Lakers bring on Wednesday.
It's been one side in the Clippers favor. But you heard the music coming in. That can only mean one thing. Oh easily easily, I have to say it for our co host, but best win of
the Clippers season, no question. This was not only like the caliber of talent and how red hot the Cavs have been, but just to be able to grit it out in that cardiac Clippers fashion in the last minute, in the way that they did, the performances they got out of the other guys, these guys that we've been waiting for to step up, and just the way that the pieces seemed to finally sort of click together. We didn't see
guys happen to force as much, you know, we didn't. We didn't see as much clunkiness, And I think that that's another one of those things that just makes it a really, really encouraging win, especially on the second night of a back to back, you know, against the team that I had a seventeen rebound advantage that shot better from the floor, shot better from three, like everything. Looking into this matchup, I would have kind of predicted a Clippers loss, But you know what, that's why you can never
count this team out. And the Clippers ended up shooting twenty two of their twenty eight free throws in the fourth quarter. That was also a huge difference, and they made theirs down the stretch. You gotta hit those shots late if you're gonna pull off a comeback like this. They almost had to be perfect down ten with two and a half minutes left on both ends of the floor. But you mentioned guy has fallen into into their roles and finding a
rhythm together. I thought three guys in particular tonight may have all had their best games of the season so far. Terrence Man, Reggie Jackson, and Norman Powell do you see the same thing, oh one, one hundred percent. And I actually want to start with norm because when I kind of alluded to forcing it earlier, he's one of those guys who I feel like has kind of been struggling to figure out, you know, where he's supposed to be, like, where he fits in with this offense, what exactly his
role is supposed to be on this team. And I thought that it was honestly kind of encouraging that coming into that fourth quarter he'd only taken two or three field goal attents, Like he wasn't trying to force anything. He was taking what the defense was given him. And man, they slept on him and he got rewarded in that fourth quarter. Just a monster performance that was
absolutely instrumental for that twenty one to six were on. It's to the last five minutes of play for the Clippers there and Terence Man, I mean, this is the guy that you need to be able to step up on the second man of the back to back. He's got young gish legs for the Clippers. Just two really really solid performances out of him, and man, that strip off the pass from Garland to Mitchell, Uh, that to me,
you know the Clippers were within two. I think when when he had the steal and just took it end to end, and that to me was the ultimate sort of Okay, we're like, we're we're we're about to do something. You know, we've seen it a little bit when the Clippers are you know they have they end the third with like a little bit of a lead and then can't quite put it together, and you worry about the fatigue
factor. But when you have guys you know, like like we've been able to see right, be able to step up in those moments, it definitely helps get you over the edge. And I think that that's been the thing that's been really frustrating for a lot of Clippers fans this season. You know, it's it's expected to take some losses. It's expected that you're going to
drop a couple of games the teams that are probably lower competition. I think the thing that's been just so frustrating is like, we know what these parts are, we know what the some of these parts are, we know the roles of these guys, and we've just seen him do it. So to see them struggle so much early in this season, I think it's less a lot of Clippers fans, including myself, at times just kind of wondering where these guys are at in the locker room, where they're at mentally, like
what is going on? But lastly, you mentioned Reggie Jackson. Got to talk about him as well. I, you know, I believe his questionable coming into this game, and I thought that he looked some of the most explosive hitting down hill that we've seen him all season. I mean, he was incredible from the floor, fifty five percent from the floor, forty percent from three eighteen to seven assists, just doing absolutely everything that you want Reggie Jackson to do. But I do feel like a big part of it with
him being able to get north south a little bit more effectively. He also and this isn't often talked about, but him being one of the primary ball handlers late in the game to break traps. That's big. Like he had a possession where he was doubled multiple times and he found the open man. He found Marcus Morris, who eventually got fould and went to the free throw line. But yeah, Reggie Jackson looked much more like himself, ironically, I guess because he is dinged up, but he looked, he looks fry,
He looked good out there. Paul George, though, Western Conference Player of the Week. I'm already saying, you know, he's gonna be in the hunt for Western Conference Player of the Month. Like he's rolling this over into this new week. Because while he didn't score early in the fourth, late in the fourth with thirty seven seconds left, he had the big and one play to put him over the top and put him up by three. Paul George once again took him home absolutely just continuing to lead the team by
example. Just another incredible, incredible performance for him. He got to his twenty field goal attempts, which is what he needs to be at every single night, especially with Kawai out to get this team over the edge. He took eleven three then shot forty six percent like he was. He was just full of Paul George. We talk about fluidity with him and just like the like how beautiful his offensive game can be. But he was getting it done
on both ends of the floor. I do have to limit I do have to list one just one concern, and I'm not going to be a party pooper. I'm not going to hamper on it too much. But we do have Paul George after a thirty eight minute night playing nearly forty minutes on the second night of a back to back, which you do got to question the sustainability of that long term, you know. He you know, it's not been indicated to us that he's going to be resting on back to bacts or
anything moving forward. But you know, so far, it's all systems go for Paul George. And he has absolutely made good on his post game promise of doing a better job being, of being assertive, of being that cow's being that engine on a night tonight basic And I think I think that you're right. I think that we will see it culminate in a Western Conference Player
of the month, you know, the turning point of the season. We may look back to Paul George calling himself out after the loss of the Pelicans just over a week ago, which seemed to change his play, which has changed the Clippers fortunes. They win tonight, they come back down ten to take down the Cleveland Cavalier's final score one nineteen to one seventeen will quickly Is it seven straight wins over the Lakers by the Clippers, or is it eighth
straight. I'm trying to keep track here is they're taking them on Wednesday. Oh man, I don't know. Let me get my fingers out here. I think I think it's eight, right, I think it might be eight because it was seven coming into this season and then they beat him. Okay, it's been a lot, it's been very one sided. But I'm looking forward to the game Wednesday night. I know Lebron didn't play tonight. They lost to the Utah Jazz, who are now at the top of the Western
