Clippers, They're locking in every game, every night. Adam Osland, the Clippers were down one entering the fourth, they get fifteen from PG in the final twelve minutes and go on to win one twenty six to one twenty over the Raptors. Here at Crypto dot com Arena, Welcome into your postgame show. I'm Adam Oslin coming up second half highlights of your postgame box score.
But first back to your radio voice of the Clippers in Carlojmenez. Well, the Powell Rangers may have taken a loss a minus four for once, but the Clippers came through anyways, and defensively, it starts there to me in the fourth quarter, where I know the Raptors ended up with twenty eight points, but early on I believe they only had fourteen midway through the quarter, and that Clippers defense Clamp City did end up showing up late. Yeah,
they were able to put pressure. They were able to get back on the defensive end and stop the Rafters who kept running in transition the higher way, and the Clippers did a good job when they needed to add them of stepping up and finishing this ballgame. And that's what's important, right. Maybe they didn't play the best forty eight minutes tonight, but they played a great final
twelve minutes and came away with a win. And you called it last at the very end of the ball game, Kawhi Leonard first with that huge throwdown and then finding Paul George on the right wing for a three pointer. Two man game between the two to one to three connection during clutch time. They were excellent today. Fifty eight points combined for those two guys who both shot
over fifty percent tonight. It was fun to watch them go to work, play off each other, also help out their teammates thirteen combined assists, seven for Leonard, six for Paul George, as they were able to pace the Clippers down the stretch. Really, it was a group effort tonight, a great group project. Everyone got in a five, all five starters in double figures. Norman Powell adds his usual thirteen points and the Clippers just got contributions
from everywhere. Tonight, Norman Powell was one for seven entering the fourth quarter. He went three for four with seven make it eight of his thirteen points in the ballgame. He continues to excel when the Clippers enter closing time. It is impressive. It is It is really really impressive, because not often atam can you have a guy off your bench, be maybe one of your most consistent players down the stretch in clutch time, in fourth quarter moments,
and Norman Palell continues to be that. You're just never worried about him, right, I mean when he starts one for seven, we're all looking at each other like it's coming, like the points will come. And they did, they did, and it's so much fun to watch him continue to play his game. Andrew Grinch's article in the La Times was just so excellent in showing the reframing of the mindset, how Norman has come to just accept his role and try to excel in his role. And that's all he's done,
is excel in his role. Clippers now winners of seven of eight, sixteen of their last nineteen twenty one of their last twenty seven going back to the reconfiguration with the starting lineup and Terrence Man entering the starting lineup. You topped with him postgame Clippers thirty two and ten over the last forty two games where he has been a starter going back to last season. It's just something about Terrence Man and his versatility. He spoke about a postgame yeah, and I
saw's answer was really interesting at him. But he mentioned sacrifice and that continues to be a theme for this team. The sacrifice this team makes. Even Lawrence Frank in his pregame press conference today mentioned the sacrifice that Kawhi made for this team so they can have more flexibility in the year's coming to build a
championship roster around him. And no, it's not a national meriti narrative right now, but that is something that I think is so important for this Clippers team is clearly these guys are selfless, They care about one another, and
they want to succeed as a whole. And it's in large part to PG Paul George Russell, Westbrook, James Harden and Kawhi Leonard got all four guys who could be asking to go to other teams where they play thirty five minutes, so they have the ball in their hands with the majority of the time. But they want to win and they know they have to sacrifice to win, and that's what this team continues to do. They ended up beating Toronto
at their own game. They scored sixty points in the paint Toronto with fifty eight when they're top five in that area on the season. And after starting I want to say, five of fifteen in the first half from the outside, the Clippers go what ten for their next nineteen shots from distance? They found the shooting stroke and they are lethal. This offense is potent, and
scoring thirty five in that fourth quarter just underscores that. Yeah, and you think about the way they were able to move the ball in the offensive end. James Harden to double double again for this team. They remain undefeated when he has won fourteen points eleven assists. Similar to the New Orleans game at Clippers start out so slow in New Orleans they couldn't make a three to save their life. And then and that second half is they couldn't miss a three
if they wanted to. The Clippers continue to stick with it. I think what's impressed to me the most is the three point shooting has never been a barometer for this team's performance offensively. It feels like, whether that SHOT's going or not, they continue to produce on the offensive end. And that says a lot because a lot of teams in this league live and die by that
three point shot, and off night could be killer for them. The Clippers are not one of those teams because they have so many weapons on the offensive end, so many different ways to beat you. Last five games coming into this one, they were shooting forty six percent from the outside, that was
second in the league. They end up at forty four percent, perfect at the charity stripe, and hey, the Toronto Raptors attempted five more free throws in the end, even though the Clippers started making the first seven free throws in the ball game. Good to see Clippers get a good victory tonight against the Toronto Raptors team That was fiery, that was aggressive, that was pesky even without Pascal Siakam. And now the Clippers are going to see a similar
team without their number one star in Memphis coming up on Friday. Tip Off is at five pm. Clippers and Grizzlies. We'll have your pregame show starting at four Carlo, great call as always, save travels, my friend, talk to you on Friday. See you and Memphis. Adam monson big two game road trip for the Clippers to keep it rolling. Memphis and then Minnesota, the best team in the West. They lost earlier tonight in Boston.

Clippers led by one at the half. After Norman Palell knocked down a three pointer to end the second quarter, it was fifty eight to fifty seven. PG thirteen had just four points on two of seven shooting twenty four
minutes in. He would change that in the second half and in the third hard and keep on left side. Leads are the past George straight away three ball time PG from downtown and Harden straight away Downhill gives it up Leonard George at the top, pump fit, Shorter flies high. George three, oh yeah three to shoot, runs over Shorter, crisis Ham packs it with the right hand. Oh he's on bully mode. George stinks through tapping Westbrook at
the top, wide open fine, George left double jumper is in. George points to Westbrook on an ice Fine. That's the first assist for US PG thirteen. Had ten points in that third quarter, but the Clippers could not stop the Toronto Raptors. They put up thirty five points in the third with their fast paced motion offense and getting into transition. It was ninety two to ninety one Toronto heading into the fourth. But then there was a little bit
more from Pg. Thirteen down the stretch sheving to shoot for the Clippers hard and yet to move. Find's George last corner three ferries. It's pg from downtown a good start for the Clippers. George and near waing cams let loses Barnes for a second, switched down by a porter at the top the two way player with the assignment on the future Hall of Famer right ended porter off the window and in it's George holds them all left pocket at the right obow

You watching the pain bound fast George underneath the revers way up schoolyards, put up and last Paul George had fifteen points in the fourth quarter, including a three pointer to put them up one twenty four to one eighteen with thirty six seconds left off an assist from Kawhi Leonard, and the Clippers would go on to win by six final score one twenty six to one twenty over the Toronto Raptors. The Clippers have won seven of their last eight, twenty one of their last twenty seven, and sixteen of nineteen since December first. The good times
just keep on rolling for this squad. Welcome back into your postgame show. I'm out of Moslin. Clippers win tonight one twenty six to one twenty over the Toronto Raptors. Coming up, Clippers will be in Memphis on Friday, then in Minnesota taking on the best team in the West. On Sunday, Clippers ended up shooting fifty three percent from the field, But the number that really stands out to me is after starting five of fifteen from distance, they
would end up hitting ten of their next nineteen. They shot forty four percent from the outside. Big threes down the stretch and in the fourth quarter. Paul George hit three of them in the final core, none bigger than the shot he hit off the feed from Kawhi Leonard after he drew the defense his way all the two man game with the two to one to three connection was special. He hit that shot with thirty six seconds left to put the Clippers
up by six. When things got a little bit dicey late. Give Toronto credit young team, young legs. They did not look like a team on a back to back. They were out and running, but the Clippers ended up matching them with seventeen fast break points of their own and beating them at their own game. Clippers with sixty points on the paint, Toronto with fifty eight, leading your Los Angeles Clippers the two to one to three connection PG
and Kawhi go for twenty nine points. They combined for fifty eight big Zoo with twelve eleven a block, six of eight shooting. Terrence Man was perfect five of five, three of three from the outside. I want to say he's twelve for his last twenty one now from distances over his last five games, but five of five, thirteen points from team man James Harden just five to thirteen, still fourteen points, still eleven assists to just three turnovers that
the Clippers just had seven as a team. Area of concern of mind going back over the last dozen games, they cleaned things up, and they had to tonight because Toronto shot fifty five percent from the field. They were good offensively, they were giving the Clippers defense a lot of issues out there with
mismatches in transition and just in the half court. The cross matchups were burning the Clippers guys were out of position until the fourth when the Clippers tightened the screws defensively and they would go on to win by six over the Raptors. The Clippers have won twenty one of their last twenty seven games with inserting Terrence Man, or since inserting Terrence Man into the starting lineup. It's not a coincidence, guys. Carlo even let him know postgame what their record has been over the last forty two games going back to last season when Man is in the starting lineup, the Clippers are thirty
two and ten. And for everyone that wanted to say, I don't know, I don't know if on high volume he can really shoot from the outside, may not just be a funk. Put in a mirror, put in Russell Westbrook, put in normOn paw whah. Terrence Man went three of three from distance. He's hit thirteen of his last twenty one takes from the outside and is progressing to the mean. After starting off this season shooting nineteen percent over his last five games, he is thirteen for twenty one from distance.
The confidence is there, he spoke about that postgame with Carlow. This Clippers starting lineup was great already with Terrence Man in a shooting slump. What's gonna happen if he continues to get back to his career average of thirty eight percent from the outside. I don't know what you do against this team. They
are creating that unsolvable problem. And while defensively they were their own worst enemy at times tonight and I even thought, maybe you should go small and have more switchability out there to stop this Toronto Raptors team with all the versatility they have, because the Clippers were getting picked apart and guys were out of position
as Toronto was just playing at a speed they couldn't handle. When it mattered most, the Clippers locked in, got multiple stops in the fourth quarter, a shot clock violation, a big block from Kawhi Leonard, a big block from Avitza Zubots. They responded, They tightened things up the last twelve minutes and they win by six off some stellar play in clutch time from two point three. First it was Kawhi out of a timeout. I believe it was
shot clock was running down. Have no fear. The one hundred and fifty one million dollar man is here. The congrats to Kawaii Leonard on a three year contract extension. Congrats to the front office, Steve Balmer and Clipper Nation because Kawhi on the day Penn was put to paper. He ends up with twenty nine points on just eighteen shots and a huge throwdown with a minute oh five left in a four point game that would make it one twenty one to
one fifteen. And then Paul George got a perfect pass in rhythm from Kawhi on the right wing and would hit a three pointer to make it one twenty four point eighteen and that was it. The Clippers hold on after the Raptors did make a run with the Clippers up by eleven and they are now twenty four and thirteen on the season. I thought Toronto was fabulous with their offense and finding the open man through the first three quarters, and the Clippers were
just getting sliced and diced and got weren't very connected. Carlo asked me, what's the key of this fourth quarter. They had to get back to playing five guys in a string, being in tune defensively, and they did. Toronto, I want to say, had six points the first five minutes of the fourth and there's something too, flipping that switch and showing who you are during crunch time when it matters most, when you're down one entering the fourth.
The fact that the Clippers were able to find themselves and that defensive identity late speaks volumes to me. Would you like to see him better play better in the first three quarters, Sure, but give Toronto a ton of credit. Every time they got into transition, they were flying up and down the
court. It was just hard for the Clippers to get matched up. Russell Westbrook, I thought, had a tough game, miss some layups, and as fast as he's moving when he misses a layup, it turned into a transition play the other way for the opposition, and the Toronto Raptors were taking advantage, but not in the fourth and the Clippers actually even things up at seventeen fast break points to match what Toronto did, and the Clippers had sixty
points on the paint. Another game where they have sixty points in the paint and hitless hit at least fifteen threes inside outside game credit Big Zoo, who ended up with twelve and eleven and three assists, six of eight shooting, but when he got doubled, he was able to find the open man. He's making the short roll, he's making the right pass, He's being decisive.
He had a spinning left handed fallaway early on, then a putback on a Kawhi miss, a left handed hook in the lane, another put back on an offensive rebound in the second quarter, a spinning layup to start the third, a Zoo hook shot. He's tremendous and he was basically right at
his average over the last twenty seven games. Now playing next to James Harden in the starting lineup with Terrence Man, where he had twelve and eleven, He's been averaging thirteen to ten on sixty eight percent shooting from the field the last twenty six games. Coming into this one, He's a new man, a made man. They are running offense through him. Win Kawhi and Paul George are out there exploit Big Zoo. I've been asking for it for years.
Make him more of a focal point. He has the talent well, he's got the confidence and trust of everyone now, and with point guards like James Harden and Russell Westbrook, he's just looked like a different player coming into his own. At the age of twenty six, he's still that young. I know it feels like he's been in the league a lot longer. Clippers had one twenty six to one twenty over the Toronto Raptors thanks to fifteen points
in the fourth quarter from Paul George. First call to Night Hobbier in the Hobra Heights Hobbyer, what's up here on Clipper stock without a massle, it's up? That a good game. I want to start real quick with you said just a couple of minutes ago. Uh, with Russell Westbrook. Every time, yeah, he does drive it in, and half of the time he does miss the layups. He's got to get up and go back on defense. Because you're right, you're one thousand percent right. I noticed that
every time he drives in, missis the layup. He wants to get the fall call and he doesn't get back on defense, and it's five ecans four And every time, like you say, they score. That was a good point of view there. So that's that's one thousand percent right there. Next thing is real quick on the Kauhi contract. Does the contract I know he had next year was an out year. Does the three year include next year
and then two years after that? U the way I understand it. According to Asia Wards Narowski and Seam Sharania and salary cap experts like Eric Pinks and Bobby marx Is, he couldn't execute the option to take the three year deal. So it's three years extended starting next season. So that takes him through the twenty twenty six twenty twenty seven season as a Clipper, well, you know what for and then he got with one hundred and fifty one million dollars.
That's that's he gave him a hometown discount because honestly, he left eight point five million out there. And now the hope is that because he showed that leadership and sacrifice that you can bring back Paul George and maybe he takes a little bit less. We'll see what happens with James Harden next summer. Like you never you never hate on a guy getting his most the most money he can. But I love what we saw from Kawhi Leonard today showing his
commitment to this ball club and it's reciprocal. It's reciprocated by the Clippers in this organization and how they feel about him. And Lawrence Frank said it best pre game. He's a top five player in the league. It's not often you have one of these guys. You gotta take advantage. You gotta keep them around. And the Clippers to me, in many ways, feel like they've only been around for a decade because that was when Steve Balmer arrived and
everything's changed since then. They went from having what you could call easily the worst owner in the league in so many ways, to having the best owner and Steve Balmer, and they've transformed this franchise. It has become a destination franchise now. It was back in twenty nineteen when Kawhi chose to be a Clipper. It remains anything else over here. Oh that's it. Got to go. Get the jerseys on. Believe what Friday and John Moran's not playing,
so we should take your business at the game. So thank you, Adam, thank you for taking them Acco. Yeah, and look out because Memphis is rallying around this injury to John Morant. They blew out Dallas in Big D last night. It was impressive, so you can't take them lightly. Just like the Toronto Raptors tonight without Pascal Siakam. Sometimes a team can
use that as extra motivation, added motivation. Of course, what happened last night against the Lakers in the fourth quarter with them being outshot at the free throw line twenty three to two, had them up in fiery. Of course, their head coach Darko let the league know about that, and the Clippers attempted the first seven free throws in this game. But in the end,
Toronto got eighteen, the Clippers thirteen. They went thirteen of thirteen at the charity stripe that saved them, and just having seven turnovers was big because Toronto ended up taking nine less shots than your Los Angeles Clippers because of fifteen turnovers, and also the Clippers having in the end eleven offensive rebounds, five of them from a Visa Zubats. Let's go to what else we got here? Spencer leaving the game. Spencer, what's up? You're on Clipper stop without
a muscled Hey, how's it going. I'm just, like, you know, I'm just a little upset by this Clippers team tonight. You know, like Raptors are coming off of back to back, not playing their star players and playing with Pascal honestly, like I felt, I feel like the team they put together is not great defensively, and I'm just a little bit upset by the whole thing. What do you think the team the Clippers put together
is not great defensively, not good defensively. I think you're a little bit misformed and just zoning in on one game and drawing too much out of that. Honestly, like Harden couldn't over RJ for most of the game. They had to switch off them with Paul George. I just nobody could. Paul George couldn't either. RJ. Barrett is showing something offensively right now, getting more touches. He barely takes the hole the Knicks traded him because he couldn't
even that's not true. Thank you for the phone call, Spencer and trying to put a wet blanket on this. R J. Barrett was in his bag. He was showing off moves in this game, and the Toronto Raptors were executing beautifully, whether in the half court or in transition. You gotta tip your cap to a team that came out and played that fast, that quick and was just very decisive. The Clippers defensively, well, they've been
one of the best teams. I can give you the numbers. On the other end, I just you look at one game and then come to a conclusion off of that long reaching conclusion in uh body of work, my friend, is what matters? Yeah, Toronto got one hundred and twenty points. They've also had a top five offense since making the trade. They're tough. They leaned into offense by trading og An Andobi. They made that clear.
They're good. I expect them to make a run at the play in even with all the turnover and not having Siakam tonight took a hard fall against the Lakers last night. You gotta show respect to the opponent. Could the Clippers have been better the first three quarters? Yeah, of course. We saw it. Finally in the fourth quarter though, when they needed to play their best defensively and come back down one entering the period, they win one twenty
six to one twenty over the Raptors. Coming up next, we got big Chuck Mockler coming on the show. Kawhi Leonard postgame, you'll hear from him back to your phone calls eight sixty six ninety seven two five seventy eight six six ninety seven two five seventy. Clippers are twenty four and thirteen. They won twenty one of twenty seven since making the adjustment with the starting lineup. I'm out of Moslin and you're listening to clipperstock here on AM five seventy,
LA Sports loading Clippers fully loaded with Clippers fans. This is LA Clippers basketball. You're listening to the LA Clippers on the LA Clippers Audio Network. Clippers win one twenty six to one twent Sea over the Toronto Raptors here at home. Welcome back to Crypto. I'm out of Moslin. The Clippers are twenty one and six in their last twenty seven games over that stretch, and the reason I'm picking that section of the season is because it's most representative of where
they're at now. That was when they put Terrence Man into the starting lineup and started bringing Russell Westbrook off the bench. Since then, fifth best offense in the league, eleventh best defense in the league. And if you take out the game against OKAC without Kawhi Leonard, uh, what is the other game I'm thinking of the game against Boston back at home without Kawhi Leonard.
Believe they are a top five defense over this stretch. So sometimes in a big blowout, the numbers can get skewed dramatically or just not having one of your stars. But overall, that's a pretty good chunk of time, a pretty good sample size to say, well, they're about a top five offense and a top ten defense. That's championship type of stuff. So, Spencer, I hope that helps you out. Eight six six nine eight seven two
seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy. Yes, at times tonight the Clippers were lacks of days of coal, not as locked in as they should have been defensively. In the fourth quarter, that changed. They played their best when their best was required. That's what we ask for. Let's go to Jose and Downey. Jose, you're on Clippers stop without a Massa. What about him? Uh, you know, just left the game. It was it was it was really nice to see them put it together
in the fourth. You know. It just looked a little worse on the when they were when they were just like you said, Lackey, on the energy side. Uh, they would get really beat when those double screens would come in and they didn't get all confused. But they pulled it together in the fourth and that's, like you said, that's what we asked for. Around You can't if you can't figure it out in the first three quarters, at least figure it out when it's the winning time, and that's what they
did. I'm glad. Paul George, you know, really had a great second half defensively, rebounds, I think he had like seven rebounds, six assists, and uh like three or four steals or something like that. I think three steels. So uh it was. It was a good game to see. Uh. Kawhi and Paul George delivered today. They did down the stretch three point game. Kawhi Leonard had a big dunk laid out of a timeout and then found Paul George for a three pointer. Appreciate the full call,
Jose. Uh. Yeah. They looked discombobulated at times because of the pace that Toronto was playing at and not having a big man out there, I thought, and I'm sure in past years he would have gone small or smaller. Daniel Tice was more effective at times because it gave the Clippers a little bit more switchability. In the second quarter, he had a couple of really stellar blocks, one of the nine minute mark leading to a hard and
three another block leading to a man to a mere throwdown in transition. Pg also had a big block leading to a hard and layup in the second quarter. You could see glimpses of where they needed to be defensively, but they
were out of position far too often. But I give Toronto credit, and I also think it's just a bad matchup because going into this game, you're talking about a team that was basically playing over the last five games at a top five pace against a team and the Clippers playing at a bottom five pace. So Toronto's up tempo stop. Yeah, the Clippers were having trouble with it. There may be a lesson in there. Still think overall, eleven
best defense over the last twenty seven games. Nothing sneeze at as a lot of us have had colts over the last couple of weeks. Roman in Santa Clarita, you're a Clipper staff with out of massa. What's that Roan? Hey, how's it going at him? Greg? Game tonight? Got to watch the whole thing, just like to say, you know, like you had that caller Spencer talking about, you know, James Harden not being able to guard Rjie Barrett. But that's I mean, if you know the game
of basketball, you know, you know you switch up on defense. Paul George tried to do the same thing they could. They couldn't guard him. He's in a different zone right now. But again down the stretch, the players come out to play. Paul George was there, Kawhi was there, and your man, Terrence Man, who we said from the beginning needed to be in that starting lineup and stay in that starting lineup, did his thing
tonight again. Harden. Harden takes his shots when he needs to, and you know, defensively, there's not a whole lot that he is lacking defensively. It's just when you play a quicker team like that, of course you're gonna get beat sometimes. I mean, there's nothing you can do about that. Big Zoo had a big game, you know. I like what the Clippers are doing with their rotation now, and like you said, they would
have went small before they didn't. You know, at times they were beat by a quicker, you know, up tempo team, but when it came down to it, their players came out to play and they finished it. It does pay me to say this, but for the first time, maybe ever this season, the Powell Rangers lost their minutes were I think a minus three in about four and a half minutes in that fourth quarter. It started
off well, but Toronto just wouldn't go away. And a young team like that with future face of the league Scottie Barnes, we'll see he's talented. He's very good, but only had twelve points tonight. There was just no quitting them after what happened last night in a game where they felt like they got jobbed, they were gonna come out and compete, and they're like that anyways, so you give them any extra motivation. I thought it'd be a
tough game for the Clippers. I was impressed by Toronto. I still think they have some of that championship culture left over from Kawhi Leonard. They've always played hard. They always compete with Nick Nurse as well. They're doing so with Darko, so I don't want to take away from what the opposition does sometimes. That said the same thing for the Lakers in that win on Sunday,
I thought, defense will be They played very well. The Clippers misshots, but you got to give credit where credit is due, and even giving credit to your Lakers Roman, I had to do it on Sunday somewhat. Hey, I appreciate that end season champions, but these Clippers are hang up on this. Clippers are looking like they're gonna make a big run. And you know, I'm not afraid to say that that I feel like the Clippers are the best team in the West right now. So I mean, that's
that's a lot. That's a lot for me to say. And you know, Lakers have their moments, but they're they are not the best team in the West as of right now. This Clippers team, I mean, you know, top five offense. I think they're like, you know, they're like top three I'm thinking. And in the defensive realm, you know what you want to be, you know, you want to be nice and say top ten. But they have played a stellar defense over the last what do
you say, twenty seven games, they've looked great. Yeah, overall, they've been really good. A couple of outlier performances and some fourth quarters where either they were blowing out the opposition or they got blown out like by OKC in Boston without Kawhi Leonard, and that can skew the numbers at times. So they're not as accurate as you've liked them to be or as representative as you'd like them to be. But overall, it's been good and overall James
Harden defensively has been very good. I appreciate the phone call. That's that's what I've seen. Roman, my guy, as I always say, my favorite Laker fan, maybe the only one now. I got baby Jake Warner next to me. Although you know what, he's seen the light. He sees the light. We'll talk with him coming up as well. Here at Crypto, Nick and Pasadena before we hear from Kawhi Leonard post game, Nick and Pasadena, you're on Clipper stop without a Mason. Hi, Nick,
Hey, Adam, how's it going? Thanks for taking my call. I was just wondering what are your thoughts as far as closing lineup? I thought they clips kind of throw different things out there. But as far as having guys like Norman there versus someone, I don't know. I just feel like Norman the starting lineup or do you like Terrence in the starting lineup against those two? Which do you think is better in a closing situation slash fourth quarter
lineup? Terrence or Norm? Think? Well, I appreciate the phone call. It's clearly been Norm. Not that Terrence is a bad option. If you need more defense, you go Terrence. But coming into this game, Norman Powell next to James Hard and Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and Aviza Zubats the Powell Rangers lineup, as we like to call it. They were a plus sixty three in seventy minutes. Now they lost their minutes by three tonight, a rare, rare occasion, but plus sixty three and seventy minutes is
insane. That's not just best Clippers lineup. That's one of the best lineups in the league, and we've seen it sparingly in fourth quarters, down the stretch when they need it most. Wasn't as effective against Toronto, who eventually made some shots and just kept battling. But I feel pretty comfortable that that is the death lineup for this crew at this point. Kawhi Leonard, you know he's going to be in that lineup. Started off the game with an
and one on RJ. Barrett. Then was he had a big block in the first quarter, a three in the second, and then a Kawhi fadeaway, a free throw line jumper and oopen the third quarter. Then a three pointer and then a dunk off a Clippers steal. Russ got it to them in transition, but the dunk at the very end of the game with about a minute left was needed with the Clippers up by just four, I believe,
and they go on to win by six. Here was Kawhi Leonard post game though on Balley Sports with Christina Pig Kawhi obviously this is a team that doesn't go away. This game felt like a track meet at times. How much did that test you, guys? Tonight tested this big time? And you know, like you said, they never give up, and they get out in transition, and you know, they was hurting us early pretty much the whole game. But now fourth Potter, we locked in on the defensive
end. Twenty nine points, seven boards and maybe the biggest performance of the night. But on a day that you ink your extension with the team, just the timing of it, why was that important to you. I'm just happy we got the wain tonight. I mean, I thank God, you know, for giving me an opportunity and the blessings that he gave me being able to sign a contract. But you know, it's still more work to do. Talk about having work to do. What does it meant to you
to do this here back home? That's been great. I mean, I've been here the last four years, and you know, hopefully we can keep this things on. Christina breaksdown Kawhi Leonard a mess one side. I got it from here. There was Kawhi Leonard with Christina Pik post game finished with twenty nine points on ten of eighteen shooting, saying there's still work to be
done and that is exciting to hear. I know. Clipper nation age six six ninety seven two five seventy eight six six ninety seven two five seventy. Well, take a quick time out. We'll come back. We'll be joined by Chuck Mockler. We'll get back to your phone calls as well here on Clippers Talk. After they win one twenty six to one twenty over the Raptors. Clippers improved with twenty four and thirteen. We'll update you on the Western
Conference standings and preview that game Friday in Memphis. I'm out of Moslein and this is a five seventy LA Sports Clipper game all season law, they didn't stop playing hard. You're listening to the LA Clippers Audio Network streaming on the iHeartRadio app. Slimmers went to one here at Crypto dot com Arena. Welcome
back in This is Slippers Talk. I'm ea Mouslin coming up. We'll get back to your phone calls eight sixty six ninety eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety seven two five seventy You can talk to our wonderful, wonderful producer Katie Newton. I'll talk with big brother Jake Warner in just a little bit. But first you hear the music. You know, it's a clips and double dip on Clippers Talk. We got Big Chuck Mockler on the phone.
Chuck got a call earlier that there was some concern about the defense, and I know it wasn't always pretty tonight, but I'm giving the Raptors some credit the quick decision making. They were tough to guard out there. They were really in tune. How did you see it? Yeah, it kind of felt like a perfect storm, to be honest. You know, we talked about a little bit on the This Raptors team was, like I think they had They were the fourth highest scoring team over the last four games.
We did that pod before their last game, So the offense was you know, I guess it's hard to prepare for, but the Clippers didn't look super interested and playing tough or disciplined d to open this game, which did coincide with a team that was well coached, had a great plan B for Pascal Siakam not being available, and they do absolutely deserve some credit. They they
played really fast. I mean, if it wasn't for a mere Coffee playing some good one on one defense really late in this game, it would have been, you know, pretty interesting with the Clippers and mounting that ball. Yeah, I just see this is a good test and good challenge and something on tape that the Clippers can now focus in on. You see a team that plays this fast and this connected, whether in transition or in the half
court. I just I can't say enough about how Toronto looked, even though yes, the Clippers looked a little bit like days of Coal, We're sleepwalking at times. But Terrence Man got him off to that quick start as he had I want to say, seven points in the first quarter alone, went
three of three, knocked down a three pointer. He's now thirteen of his last twenty one from the outside, and the starting lineup with Terrence Man is now shooting fifty four percent from the field and forty four percent from three in over the last twenty one games when they've been whole. But it's just great to see Terrence Man bounce back, find his shooting stroke and figure it out.
Chuck. We all wanted to give him that time. It was his big opportunity to be in the starting lineup, and he's starting to make the most of it. Yeah. He was absolutely huge tonight. He was five or five from the field and he, you know, he made good decisions watching Paul George, you know, swing it over to Terrence, which I think that was for his second or third three. It was great to see
that. You know, I think if you for some reason had been off the Terrence Man trade, seeing Paul George, you know, have the confidence to get it to him in the corner and then him making it is I don't know what else you want to see from Terrence Man at this point. He's fully back. He was doing everything else really well other than shooting. Now the shooting is here. He's yet another guy kind of taking, you know, an elevated step right now in terms of what he's bringing to the
team. And we needed it, and we needed Zoo tooes you shot. He was six of eight him and Terrence kind of kept the Clippers I don't want to say in the game because they were never you know, like I don't think they were in danger of, you know, falling super far behind. But He's they certainly you know, helped us keep it as close as possible while PG kind of figured it out early, you know, and that was going on. That's a great point. Paul George went over in the
first quarter and t Man inter beats Zoobots combined for thirteen points. Clippers trailed by just one at twenty nine twenty eight heading into the second, and that's because Kawhi Leonard had a quick nine points in the first quarter ended up with
twenty nine. Both he and Paul George finished with twenty nine points. But on a night, in a day where Kawhi Leonard inkst the three year extension, it was great to see him and Paul George come up clutch late in the ballgame when they needed to be against the Raptors, and especially cool to see Kawhi Leonard play this well in his first day on a new contract. And we heard from a postgame he's still focused on bigger things out there.
Chuck, Yeah, I mean, all these guys are this is a game where this is a game you have to win if you have real championship aspirations, especially out of that where the Nuggets lost and they got some standings helped too, And they're gonna have another tough game against Memphis, right like Memphis is. Their backs are against the wall with the tough injury going on over
there, but they play hard. There are another team that plays hard without a key guy in the lineup, So we're gonna I think we're going to see it again on in that game. I think it's in Memphis. We're at the point where we're expecting the Clippers to put these teams away. We don't really think it's gonna be that shaky tonight that maybe got tested, but they still came through. The stars came up when they were supposed to come up. Norm came through very late, but we really needed it. But
that was important too. So I'm yeah, I'm feeling good about this team.
And like you said, it's great. This happened on the contract day and postgame him saying that he sees that you know, pretty much everyone else is going to be back next year, so it's good to be a Clippers fan right now, I'm counting on Russell Westbrook to have a big bunce back performance in Memphis, because in a game that was played at this tempo, in this speed, you would have thought Russell Westbrook would have thrived, But
he just missed too many gimmes. I counted three or four miss layups that ended up in transmission transition buckets going the other way because the Toronto Raptors would have numbers and make quick work at the Clippers defense in transition. But overall, I thought the bench and Norman Pale of course coming through with seven of his thirteen points in the fourth quarter, and just the minutes Daniel Tice gave them, especially in that second quarter with back to back blocks, lead and
transition points for the Clippers, it sparked them a little bit. The bench had their moments. Yeah, that was a really chaotic part of the game that happened to shake out in favor of the Clippers. I think the Raptors had a block too, and then the Clippers had, you know, a couple alleyups. Paul George had that huge dunk where he kind of shoved off of them, which it was huge at the time. But that was when the Clippers couldn't really have, you know, three good possessions in a row.
They'd have two and it would kind of sputter. But yeah, that was it was a huge stretch from the bench to kind of bring that energy. There was another time, kind of later on in the game. I think RJ. Barrett was bringing ball up, but don't was really stopping the ball. He was about to get the half court Daniel Tights stopped the ball and it kind of mucked up the Raptors offense just enough to where the Clippers
ended up getting a steal. So the bench did a lot of little things right in this game, and that is a thing you need when you are a team of championship aspiration. So it didn't go super well, but the things that did go well, I think show how good the Slippers team could be. What if all is you know, coalescing quickly? Last one here for you. You mentioned that dunk by pg. Thirteen. He also caught
a lob where he really got up for it. It was impressive. But he had a block early on. But fifteen points in the fourth quarter, they have no chance in this game without Paul George, the hot shooting the three threes he would end up hitting in the fourth. He was fantastic in the second half, in particular where he had twenty five of his twenty nine
points. Yeah, two of seven, had a into the half. It was, you know, obviously this team goes as far as the stars take them, and Paul George wasn't taking them very far in that first half. And then he really turned it around. He saw you know, he sees the Qui contract. He's like, he knows he's back. So it's good to see Paul George playing well. And we we didn't really talk about Harden, but shout out to James Harden for some very clutch assists here and there
and just kind of the overall captaining of the offense tonight. Yeah, eleven assist to three turnovers. Paul George, by the way, six of nine in that fourth quarter for those fifteen points. Chuck, appreciate it. Missed your earlier today on the cnd episode with the breaking news on Kawhi Leonard, but I know we got more episodes coming up this weekend on the YouTube with you and Will Updike and myself, So thanks for doing this tonight. On last segment, he quoted Kawhi Leonard, who postgame said, I think most of the guys are coming back. Signing the extension gives us a chance to sign both of those players, in reference to Paul George and James Harden, that's your leader, that's your guy sacrificing.
Paul George was ass postgame. I believe it was PG thirteen on why it's worked out so well with him and Kawhi Leonard when those guys are available on the floor.
