Collective sigh relief from Clipper Nation. As the losing streak is over. Clippers win one thirteen to one oh one here in downtown La over the Dallas Mavericks. Welcome into your
postgame show. Coming up second half highlights. You'll hear from Coach Lewin the players. But quickly, while we have a moment, let's pause ten seconds for station at entification. Here in Los Angeles Clippers Radio Network, we will wait for the machines to get LA Clippers Basketball AM five seventy KLAC Los Angeles,
ninety eight seven KYSR HD two Los Angeles and iHeart radio station. I'm telling you just a little bit more ram and we'll be good, all right, Noah Eagle, the Clippers certainly we're processing with power tonight in Tail seven. I don't know what do you want to call it AMD but we talked about a little bit pre game, seeing a familiar foe like this in the Dallas Mavericks could bring out the best in them and remind them of who they
are Yea. And I feel like that's what happened. You know, they're so comfortable with playing against them, They've game planned against them time and time and time again, and so you saw a lot of that. You saw the familiarity. You saw that that's still animosity that I think both teams have towards each other, because at the end of the day, when you really look at it, I think that you've got these two teams that are still
pretty similar from the two playoffs series. Look, no Porzingis anymore. You've got Spencer Dinwiddie instead, you've got Christian Wood who maybe wasn't a part of it. And I know that Finney Smith and Kleiba and Green didn't play in this one, and they were all part of it. But Don Chech, Dwight Powell, Tim Hardaway Junior, even Reggie Bullock, those are guys that are familiar with what goes down, what has gone down with these two teams
over the last couple of years. They're big parts of this matchup, and for the Clippers, I mean just about everybody, Kawhi Leonard, Marcus Morris, Viza Zubats, Terrence Man, Nick Patoum, just about everybody that played outside of Covington and Powell and even Moses Brown who got five minutes. They
know what this matchup's all about. They were there for those playoff series and so that I think does ignite something that there's a fire inside of some of players that you just want to continue to dominate a series you've won, or you want to get back for a series you've won, all the little things like that. So it was the perfect storm overall, and I think the
Clippers handled it very well. Kawhi Leonard goes for his season high of thirty three points, and when Luca don Chich was going on that scoring baras with twenty points in that fourth quarter, Kawhi had the huge offensive rebound that he took out beyond the three point line, knocked down a big three pointer over Luca, and then was fouled on another three. Just to give him a little bit of breathing room and keep him at arm's length. You rely on
that stabilizer and Kawhi Leonard. Kawhi was Kawhi tonight, and he needs to be Kawhi for this team. Like this wasn't just hey, Kawhi was good out No, Kawhi was outstanding out there. This was super star. This was Finals MVP quad. Thirty three points on twelve shots on twelve shots in thirty six minutes. I mean, you can't get more efficient, you can't get more dominant at times in this game. And defensively, four steals it four steals at him. This was the best game he's played all season,
and I know he's had some good ones. The Celtics game was incredible, the Wizards game was awesome, but this game felt like playoff. Kawhi Leonard in twenty twenty one pre ACL I thought he was the engine. I thought he was the leader. He did everything right tonight, And if they get this out of him on a nightly basis, that's when things are going to start to turn in the right direction for this team and they could easily go from a six game losing streak to a six game winning streak in the blake
of Ani. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think only one of his makes came at the rim. The rest were all in the mid range or from distance. Sounds about unbelievable performance, as you say from Kawhi. Yeah, this was his best performance of the season, no doubt. Terren's man plays forty one minutes. Talked a little bit about that post game.
That is a huge number. But this is one of their younger guys that we talk about being so important and critical to this team in this nucleus because you know, he's rarely ever a negative out there, and he has so many ways he can help this team and he's showing that now in the starting
lineup. I thought that the shots he made in the fourth quarter, the Clippers don't win this game without what he did in the fourth quarter, just playing in simple ten fourth quarter points, but two huge threes, huge threes, and then had a couple of big rebounds, a couple of fifty fifty balls. He just did all the little things to your point, and that's what Terrence Spent has done his whole career. He's now in his fourth season.
He's a veteran at this point, which is crazy to say, still very young, but he is someone who's battle tested as well because he's been in big moments, obviously the playoffs in twenty twenty one being the top of the top for him, but at Game seven against Dallas in which he came through in a big way, Game five and six against the Utah Jazz, and even in that Phoenix series he had some huge moments for the Clippers there. And go back to his time in college at Florida State, they were
going deep tournament runs every single year. They were playing to win the acc include. They actually did win the Eccy, not every year, but one of the years he was there. That's the type of player he's been his
whole life, dating back to i'm sure elementary in high school. So when you've got someone who's battle tests like that, it's generally good to have him in there for these tight moments in the fourth quarter, and he proved once again that the lights never get too bright for Terrence Man and the Clippers had to overcome Aviza Zubots being in foul trouble in that first quarter. They throw out wingstop and that was a very successful lineup, and we saw a lot
of it. I think that a lot of Clipper Nation was waiting for this opportunity, waiting for this moment, a moment like this, Kelly Clarkson would be thrilled. Steve Carrell in forty year old version would be thrilled for Kelly Clarkson. But yes, it was exactly what I think many people had hoped for. And you know what's funny about this. Adam Marcus Morris ten points in the first quarter, two points in the second, didn't score in the
second half. Played thirty three minutes tonight and made a good impact. He moved the ball, he played tough defense. He used four fouls, which I think was important to just be a goal with Dallas, but they didn't necessarily need it because it was a team effort, and I think wingstop provided that the ball movement, the willingness to get into the paint. Defensively, it was just suffocating and then group rebounding, which is more important than anything
else. They did a great job of recognizing where everybody else was on the floor, all of their teammates were on the floor, and then going after rebounds collectively. So overall, I think a successful first showing for that extended stay of wingstop. Tonight, Clippers win one thirteen to one on one over the Dallas Mavericks. The sixth game losing streak is over, and they come right back here after two days of rest to take on another familiar foe in
the Denver Nugget. That's the game, Adam, that's the game. We all know that. Coach Lou brought it up after they lost badly last week by thirty plus, we're down by forty three in Denver. But the Clippers lost the third quarter thirty one to nineteen. It was just a ten point lead heading into the fourth at eighty eight seventy eight, and the Dallas Mavericks weren't going away. But Terrence Man, who started off this ball game one of seven from the field oh three from the

till the top of the hour. Coming up on the show, postgame audio from Coach Low and the players, and Charles Mockler from Clips in Dip will be here. The six game losing streak is over, some seventh heaven for the Clippers after just a miserable two weeks here and I thought it started with this starting lineup that they've gone with the second straight game now. Injecting Terrence
Man and that energy with the starters just makes sense for this team. They were leading in the first quarter by eleven early and played great on both ends, and Kawhi Leonard had eleven points in the first quarter. Even without his scoring, Terrence Man had just two points in that first quarter, but he was everywhere. And sometimes guys like that we used to talk about it a
lot with Patrick Beverley. Certain guys play with a level of competitiveness and intensity that it just permeates throughout the team that it's infectious and they can turn what would be a one of eighty two regular season game into more of a playoff like environment with their chippiness, with their toughness, with their physicality. That's
Terrence Man. That's what he can do for this team. And also get into the paint, create for others, be a connector out there, help to keep moving the basketball, and the Clippers were certainly playing hot potato actually in that first quarter, putting up a thirty one spot. Dallas still had twenty five after being down by as many as eleven in the first quarter. But you take that. That's fine. Hold him to twenty five, give
no quarter. Okay, they kind of did call it a push, but the Clippers were certainly locked in. This is a Dallas Mavericks team with Luca don Chich number one score in the NBA at thirty four per game outdid that with forty three and a team that had won eight of their last ten, and Luca came to play tonight after missing their last game in Okay. See,
you knew he'd be available against the Clippers. There's some I'm sure, bitterness and bad feelings and a rivalry here because back to back first round series, it's just bound to happen. It's organic, it's natural. You see the same team over and over again. And the last time Dallas had the Clippers down two zero and the Clippers came back in twenty twenty one, again
him against them to win in seven. And there were a lot of guys who showed up big, but to play through the adversity early on where Vizza Zubots had three fouls within a two minute span. He's out of the game,
and what happens wing stop Clipper Nation. You've been asking for it, you've been begging to see what we thought we'd see more of coming into this season, and maybe they're just saving the best for last, so teams don't have as much tape on it. But coach lou with the Vizza Zubots getting into foul trouble, three fouls, all of them on Luca don Chich, he kept hunting him. He's such a smart, brilliant player. He's one of the greatest players I've ever seen already, and I think he's twenty four.
It's unreal watching him. He could end up being the face of the league in a few years. But here was the lineup. Zubots goes out and they got Kauai, Terrice Man, but tomb Rocco and Marcus Morris out there on the floor and they did damage. They were a plus seven with that group, and they were switching and they were getting boards and they were working together, playing five guys on a string defensively using their length and a
lot of good defenders in that group. But we haven't seen a lot of Robert Covington this season, and he ends up playing thirty minutes, has nine points, a few assists, was being scrappy, four offensive rebounds, missta gimme a layup, but then had a nice reverse layup. It was Marcus Moore's who I think found him inside in the second half for an easy one. But Rocca was just so active out there, and you see the value he brings. Knocked down an open three pointer in the second half. This
is what he can do for this team. And maybe we'll see more of it now. But maybe a blessing in disguise that a Vista Zubos got it into foul trouble to begin with so we can see more of the wing stop group. Maybe it was just the matchup we'll see. I'm sure coach lew was asked about it post game, but we're seeing less guard heavy lineups and all of a sudden, more wing stop out there. And there were multiple guys who got into the act. I thought John Wall gave them some really
good minutes in spurts. Norman Powell certainly did in that second quarter where he had sixteen and the Clippers put up a thirty eight spot and we're up by twenty two at a half. Norman Powell misses his first two shots easy layoups, but kept getting downhill and then was knocking down everything from the outside, started three of three from distance, finished with twenty seven, and I thought
they might take him out late in the ballgame. Coach Lew had other ideas because Luca donche was picking on him, hunting him out, looking for the week link out there, and with all those good defenders, you could say because of his size and the size advantage with Luka done it was Norman Powell.
It was a smart play. He went at him multiple times. I thought they were going to take him out Rocco, but they kept him in and it was the right move from coach Low because he ends up drawn a couple of fouls, knocks down four free throws, and the Clippers were tested late and this time they passed that test, unlike what happened against Atlanta where they were up by eleven and the fourth quarter. I noted it on Twitter
at follow out of May. It was an eleven point lead once again, and Terrence Man got to the basket for a layup and Kawhi Leonard answered some big shots from Luca don Chich with an offensive rebound that Kawhi turned into a three pointer that he hit on the right wing over Luca, and then he was fouled in the near side corner and hit all three free throws. Just needed six points in that fourth quarter from Kawhi, who finished with a season
high thirty three. Because Terrence Man had ten of his twelve in the fourth and Norman Powell had seven of his twenty seven points in the fourth quarter, they countered an incredible effort from Luca donch We've seen it before. He had twenty of his forty three points on the fourth quarter. But the Clippers were able to keep them at bay, keep them at arm's length, and have a little bit of breathing room as they continue to run their offense. This
was certainly one of the biggest games in the season. You could say it was overall. That first half was incredible. And to hold on against Luca don Chich, who when he gets on that left wing, because we've seen him hit big shots here before. Obviously a big shot in the bubble in Game four two, but you just you automatically think it's going in every time, and they usually do. And once he went after Norman Powell got into a rhythm, he started to knock down some tough three pointers. They were
well defended, it didn't matter he's an unbelievable player. But the Clippers were able to overcome it and outlast them and win one thirteen to one oh one. Let's take a quick call before we take our first break here. Let's go to Lenny and Inglewood start things off here on Clippers talk. What's up? What's up? What's up? Man? Look good? Rate? Win tonight. We got ourselves in the hall. We got a long way to dig ourselves out. But I'm just gonna tell this because when I'm wrong,
you call me out. But when I'm right, I want my props. I told you four weeks ago. As much as I love Reggie, Reggie is not a starting point guard on a championship contending team. Reggy's a Reggie's a great guy, great locker room presents, great most I mean, he gives a great speeches guy. But he's too streaky. You know, you've looked at what Terence Man does and when he gets a minute, he will consistently give you fourteen thirteen in that range. But what he brings defensively,
he's a big guard. He's a physical guard. He wears down the other guard, the other team's guard, and he's all over the place. That is what we need now. I thought we might have to go out and get it. But it's great that we got it in house. And it's and I looked at the numbers and Terrence, Terrence Man has got it. Man, he's got it. I'm glad lu is pulling the trigger on it. And well, Terrence Man is one of those guys like Nicholas Patum that
is just always a positive. He's always doing something to help you win and be impactful, even if it doesn't show up in the box score unless you're looking at the plus minus. He's making winning plays out there. And he certainly did in the fourth quarter when he hit those back to back three pointers. Those were huge shots to counter what Luca was doing too. And by the way, a little bit of a rivalry between those two big time and
the fact he's a big, physical guard. Teams can't stand going up against big physical guard six five six six, puts his body into you, you know, can move his feet. He's a tough dude to face. Man, He's only gonna get better. And now you know, we can even tolerate, you know, Wall, but Wall seems like he's getting better with his turnovers. And I mean I just got to hope that, you know, Wall being a three time All Star, he's gonna find that back and
he's gonna get back into his rhythm. And but you know, I'm not sure, but I'm gonna tell you the truth, man, I'm not sure what's happening with Luke Kannard. But if Luke Kannard can't be healthy, as much as I like him, they need they need to think about doing something, man, because you know, the best ability is availability, and I just you know, we it's just it's just doesn't make no sense of this, dude. No, I appreciate the phone call, money, I hear
you. He's been dealing with this calf injury this season, but for the most part he has been available as a Clipper. He has some knee tendonitis with Detroit, it seems like he's over that. And he's somebody who is not just a three point specialist. He's turned into a much better playmaker, gives good effort on the defensive end. He's undersized and guys pick on him sometimes because of that, but the effort is there. I think Luke Nard
is a necessary piece for this team right now. But Terrence, Man, it just makes all the sense in the world. Is what I said last show somebody that I can get into the paint when you're playing drive, kicks, swing, and that's your offensive philosophy. It starts with that drive and Terrence Man gets into the teeth of the defense and Reeks Havoc and the way the Clippers were moving the ball, especially when they had the wings out there. It was beautiful to watch in that first half. But a lot of
good performances in this one. We'll talk about it all. Eight six six ninety eight, seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight, seven two five seventy is the phone number. More Clipper stock next here on AM five seventy l a sports mouth and shut out Norman Powell. He tribes middle and sad they took the rim. Pell just caught up, buddy. I don't know it. Eagles so good. I may have gotten up and gone to the bathroom when that play went down, but I can visualize it all now.
Don't visualize then other part. But Norman Powell in that dunk, Zachocawley with the mix by the way coming back in that was a huge momentum swing. I thought, Kawhi Leonard also hit two three pointers, one to end the third, one earlier in the third to make sure there wasn't as much damage done with Dallas cutting it down to a ten point lead leading into the fourth quarter. Clippers win one thirteen to one oh one. The six game
losing streak is ova. Could this be the turning point for this squad given the rotations the lineups. We saw Robert Covington playing thirty minutes and now back to back games with Terrence Mann into the starting lineup and he played forty one played I think thirty six on Sunday. It gets Atlanta and coach Lew was asked post game, because he didn't come back in late in the fourth quarter, if he could have played a little bit more, and Coach Lew admitted,
yeah, yeah, you could have. I probably should have put him in there longer. It's not that's a rare thing to see a coach say something like that and then make the adjustment he did it. Coach Lew knows all these things, like he's going to figure this out the best combinations with this squad. It hasn't been easy so far continuity wise, all the different guys out there, but they're getting there. Tonight certainly was progress. There
was even some sparks of that last game on Sunday. Let's go to Eddie in Whittier here on Clippers stock Eddie, what's up? What's up that? Wow, it's great thought. We got rid of that sixth game losing streak and you know, surviving the Luca forty one. But really four things that stood out to me. The great on defense, they just showed effort. The second thing being the passing, you know, just the extra pack a lot of ball movement this game. Third, third thing, Norman Powell really
embraced that Lou Williams role. I thought, you know, handling the ball going to the bucket. I loved it. And the one fourth thing I you know, I wanted to ask, is I didn't see Reggie at the game. I didn't see him on the bench, So just curious, was he actually there, did I just not see him or was he not there? He was on the bench. Reggie Jackson was there. He was on the bench, had a DNP tonight. Obviously, tough decisions are being made
right now. It's the second half of the season. They're trying to figure this thing out. But coach lu said, before you know, somebody who's out tonight maybe back next game. Everybody's got to stay ready. Still, that's been the mindset with this squad for a long time. All Right, I appreciate the ball anything else, Eddie, No, that's it. Yeah, I mean the ball movement was great. That was a big change from
what I saw was the last couple of games. Yeah, Clippers end up with twenty assists, but when they went iso and Kawhi Leonard is getting in the mid range like that and he ends up and Noah Egle brought this up post game. But just the ridiculous efficiency from Kawai. Nine of twelve. I think he started five of seven. So a lot of that stuff you're not getting assists on, but they're high percentage shots from Kawai. He's a mid range master. This is what he does. He gets to his spots,
he dissects the defense. This was his best game of the season. It has to be not just because the scoring high, but the level of efficiency. If Noah Eagle's gonna say it post game, I'm gonna reiterate it. Kawhi Leonard looked as good as he has since returning from the acl tonight on both ends of the floor. What amazes me is there was one shot in the restricted area from him of the nine makes one. The rest were
all mid range shots and three point shots. And I told you earlier on this season, when his legs are feeling good, those threes are gonna start to fall. And he was three or five hit a critical one late, was fouled on another one. Let's go to quickly here and we'll hear from Kawaiet a little bit. By the way, we got postgame audio with that Damien in La Damien. You're on Clipper Stop without him oszin Aka Victors spoils. What's going on? Triple A? Man, great win? Did you
just docks yourself here on Clipper Stop a little bit? You know, it's all right, you know, I'm allowed to dock myself though, right, Okay, if I do it, I give myself consented exactly. It's allowed. It's not like this is gonna be in podcast form and perpetuity forever anything, but yeah, forever, you know, throughout the universe, and you know whatever. So but man, what a great win. I you know, I came to see you Sunday and you told me about Luca Man,
that was special. What I'm glad about is that they corralled me. I'm curious, what did I tell you about Luca? Well, because I asked, because I asked you like you, because I've never seen him before in person or anything. And I was like, you know, you know what to expect, And and me, you and some of the guys were talking about like what do we do, Like how do you stop him? And and and actually somebody lied to me because they told, oh, you can't
stop him, you can't stop him. But you know, those thirty three that he had, I mean three and twenty in the fourth quarter, man, and he balled out, he balled out, he did it wasn't enough to overcome the Clippers defense and the mentality that they had the entire game. I love how they played Luca. You know, they know he was gonna get off, and they didn't try to, you know, just shut him down completely. But they wanted to make sure that, you know, Dallas
didn't get in the rhythm. And I felt like they did not get an opportunity to get in the rhythm the entire game. No, and the Clippers on the season, we talked about this a little bit in the pregame, and it turned out to really come to Fruition and their perimeter defense. Nobody's been better guarding three pointers so far this season than the Clippers. Teams are shooting just thirty four percent against them on the outside. On the perimeter,
nobody's better than that. When Dallas Mavericks went twelve of thirty eight, that's thirty one percent from three and at one point, I want to say, miss seventh straight in the fourth quarter from distance. That's true. Yeah, man, I you know, I was up bet in the early going of the Sunday ninth game because we weren't closing out and they were hitting some easy three and I was like, man, these guys can't guys can't hold us. And you know, we kind of let him play with us a little
bit. They did much better on the close out, and when we close out at that three point line, we're the best in the business, you know. I mean, I want to give the game ball to Kawaik, but I expect Kawai to do what he did, so I have to give the game ball to Norman Powell. Okay, I'm looking at Norman Powell right now. He just did a little bit of a meet and greet here downtown Los Angeles post game. Now they're throwing jerseys at him. He's siring him.
He's bringing out the sharpieman keeping the city, you know. I mean, he's really stepped up. He's really been a guy that you can rely on. I saw him at halftime and he's looked so locked in, you know, in the shooter around. He didn't met He is professional. He gets criticized sometimes for working too hard and putting too much pressure on himself. Well you can see it, man, you can see it this guy,
this team tonight. They played with that intensity, with that fire that you know that they have, and I just want to see that from tip. You know, like when these guys get out there and they start running and they start you know, dribbling, kicking, swinging, that's in the business man, and it's one of the most exciting teams to watch. You know. That's what I would tell any NBA fan if you like basketball, check
out the Clippers. Man, follow Adam a you know what I'm saying, and just check the Clippers and really enjoy that because they're putting out a good product. It doesn't always result in the w lately, but even the ones that we don't win till very exciting games. And if you love basketball, you gotta be on board with that. All right, Damian, I appreciate the phone call. Good seeing you at the game. Yeah, exciting ball
game felt more like a playoff atmosphere. As Noah Eagle brought up, maybe it's just because we've seen these two teams against each other so much in the playoffs that whenever they're playing one another they turn into these high intensity games. But I really felt like the Clippers needed an opponent like this to get their full attention during this sixth game losing streak. I think there's something to that. Also, the Deadver Nuggets on Friday night could be the same thing.
Before we break, let's hear postgame from Kawhi Leonard, who ended up with thirty three points, nine of twelve, shooting twelve of twelve from the free throw line and hit some big shots late. And also, oh yeah, I had four steals. The two time Defensive Player of the Year. Here he was on Valley Sports with Christina Peak. Thank you, Brian, Kawhi. Things always interesting against these guys, but as soon as you tried to pull away, Luca had an answer. How tough was it just to close
this one out? Every NBA game is tough in that fourth quarter. But you know, lucas a hell of a player. He's not gonna give up. Like you said. He came down to churts, made shots, made free throws, you made shots. You had a big offensive rebound for this team, But nine of twelve from the field thirty three points with them trying to get the ball out of your hands. How are you able to find
your spots tonight? I'll just made shots, like you said, gotten a rhythm, knocked down open shots, charts it in my teammates and we was able to pull it out. Why you guys end the losing kid, But it felt like you had a different energy and pace to start this game collectively. How do you guys spring that into stringing together some whale one game at a time. Gotta come in with effort, and you know we made shots some nights, so got helped us out all right? Thanks I Luca Dogitch
holding back the floodgates with him. Had his ninth forty point game this season, and twenty of those points of his forty three came in the fourth quarter. But the Clippers were victorious. They win one thirteen to one oh one.
Quick time out, We'll get back to your phone calls eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety seven two five seventy and Charles Macklin from Clips and Dip will be on next right here on a five seventy LA Sports, Henny got it, count it from distance, the odds on favorite to hoist, Larry O'Brien heavily contest it and a doesn't matter on the whole of your LA Clippers, Clippers and the losing streak. They win
one thirteen to one oh one over the Dallas Mavericks. Welcome back into Clippers Stock. I'm out of Moslins. We'll get back to your phone calls at eight six six ninety seven two five seventy eight six sixty ninety seven two five seventy. But joining the show right now is Charles Mockler from Clips and Dip. Charles, let's get right into it. So the Clippers bounced back in a way that we were hoping to see them really kind of relocate who they
are and their identity and their character as a team. And I think the Dallas Mavericks brought out the best in them. It's something we talked about recently. Yeah, I mean, that was as urgent as I think we'd seen the Clippers play in a really long time. Robert Covington said that's kind of what they talked about as a team that he said, the first team that throws the punch is a team that's going to come out and win. And
the Clippers were on the front foot from the moment this game started. I think a huge part of that was Terrence and Big in the starting lineup. He was really effective in the fourth quarter. But just being able to start that game with the in your face intensity on defense, as well as being able to hit shots and not turning the ball over. But it all worked as well as I mean it has maybe all your for the Clippers, even without Paul George. One of the underrated things over the last five games.
Now, even though they had been losing, they were only turning it over twelve times per game, and tonight they had ten, just two in the first half when they had that twenty two point lead the half. So some growth there, maybe even during a losing streak, making some strides in one area but overall, Kawhi Leonard goes for a season high with thirty three points. And for anyone who thinks this guy has lost or doesn't have it anymore, I just I don't know what you've been watching over the last month,
since he's been playing the majority of games. Yeah, I mean, so he led the Clippers and points, He led the Clippers and rebounds. He was tied for the leads assists. He had four steals of the seven the team had. His ramp up process has been deliberate. It's been a little maybe slower than some people wanted. But if you've actually been watching the Clippers, he's gotten better pretty much every time he stepped out on the court.
And he was so good on the defensive end. I know, Luka Danchich at forty three point tons kind of play where he is when you do well in the defensive end, maybe he sols forty three. But Kawai was everywhere tonight on both ends. It was I mean, it was you know again, Pete Kauai so far this season and a Vita Zubas goes out with four minutes and thirty seven seconds into the ball game. If Vita Zubos picks up
his third foul. All three were against Luca. He was looking for him, he always does, but that ended up giving us winstop for really one of the first times this season with Roco out there with the guys, and maybe this is something that we're going to see moving forward because everybody has been
asking for it, and it sure was successful tonight. Yeah. I mean it took what not only did Zubot sounds to get in foul trouble for us to see Robert Cummington, so did Moses Brown took It really seemed like Robert Cummington was a break in case of emergency type player. But it sparked something. We saw Norm Powell with four wings and it was phenomenal. Tonight We got to see as close to even though we saw in the preseason that wing
stop lineup, it was just missing Paul George. But if this doesn't get Robert Cummington more minutes, I don't know what will thirty one minutes for a guy who's been in and out, mostly out of the lineup from the floor doing all the right things. For the most part, I'm not the only I can't imas I'm the only Clippers fan who's hoping that this kind of emergency trip, you know, to wingstop becomes a more regular thing for this Clippers
team, cause it was night and day on both ends. Yeah, and Rocco in that first half, there were multiple misses at the rim, I think, but two miss one maybe Most's Brown miss one, and Rocco had the putback and that effort in that hustle was there and they need that from him. The three pointers as well, and he hit one and it was a big one. But the Clippers just look like a completely different team with
the way they moved the basketball tonight. And I know they only had twenty assists, but some of that is just the greatness of Kawhi Leonard in isolation and getting to his spots and hitting buckets over whoever was in front of him. But I just love the way those wings were able to move the basketball without our true point guard out there, and with Terrence Man getting the start,
it didn't hold them back at all. Yeah. It really just goes to show that this team doesn't necessarily need that quote unquote true point guard. It's a shame that, you know, Reggie Jackson getting these dnps right now. A lot of us think he needed some rest. So this is probably
good in the long run. But you're right when we have the players that we have right now, who can all as we've been told, you know and sold kind of before the season, move the ball no matter what really their position, even though they're not the point guard, it still works. Nicobatum only made one shot tonight, he was still wildly effective at getting the offense just in a rhythm anytime, you know, he would have the hockey
assist or something like that. So this team has more than enough capable passers. And yeah, we saw it on full display tonight. He is Charles Mockler of Clips and Dipped does the podcast with myself and William Updyke. I'm sure we'll have one for you in the next couple of days another tripod which we now put on YouTube as well so you can see us if you or Charles, thanks for doing this tonight after a in you said next time you're hoping it's after a win. It was my friend. Yep, there we
go. Let's hope we can carry it over to Friday. Quick time out here on Clippers Talk after they win one thirteen to one on one over the Dallas Mavericks. I believe we got one more segment right, sick, we do. We'll get back to your phone calls. Eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy is the phone number here on M five seventy. LA Sports Lumbers win one thirteen to one on one over the Dallas Mavericks. The six game losing streak is over. Welcome back at the Clippers talk. I'm
out of Oslin. Quickly here Michael in Los Angeles. You got thirty seconds here, Michael? What's up? All right? Great wind, great win. I was just curious if you think we may actually see some a mere coffee, I mean it's going forward. Well, I think it depends on what happens with this Roco situation. Him getting thirty minutes tonight. Obviously, if he's playing a lot, If Nicholas Patuma is healthy, they have a
ton of wings. We're talking about a team that didn't have Paul George tonight too, so it may be tough for him to crack minutes into the lineup. And it just could be you know, a game by game, week by week basis where you just gotta stay ready with this team. You never know when your name is going to be called but it was good to see Robert Covington perform at that level and good to see wingstop out there. Thank you for the phone call, Michael. Let's go to tagus in Walnut.
Tagius, your Unclippers stop with that. I'm awsome, Hey, dam quickly. I think I gave the game ball to a team man. Not only to hit those two threes and the fourth, he drove in twice and made two floaters to keep that lead in that cushion, along with the nice plot shot. Just gonna ask you, just when we saw Luca attacks warm Powell made three baskets in the fourth, do you think the Clippers when they play small ball attack the opposing team's best player enough like Luca did? We did?
Did we get like screens where we could attack Luca? And hopefully next game we can do that with Jokis. But I think we should be attacking the opponent's best player. I agree with you. I thought they made Luca work some. I thought Kawhi Leonard was looking for that matchup on the other end, and when he got that offensive rebound and pulled it out to the right wing and knocked down that three pointer, it was over. Luca done. So it was fun to see. I also felt like the defensive strategy
against Luca donchech was successful tonight. Overall. I know he went off in that fourth quarter. There's just nothing you can do. Sometimes he's incredible, but they gave him different looks, they change levels. They had different players on him. At first possession, it was Kauai, then you saw Marcus Morris. He gets a switch and if eats, the Zoo bots is on him for a little bit. Nicholas Batum though, made a huge play against
Luca Dontage in the fourth quarter when he was on that heater. Luca went to the ram and it was well contested by Batoum, who has been very good over the years against Donchage, as good as you can be. Clippers win one thirteen to one oh one. The losing streak is over. They get right back after it against the Denver Nuggets. Here Friday night, tip time at seven, Clippers countdown at six.
