The game is over. Paul George money in the pain, but the postgame reaction has just begne Cowhi Leonard is so smooth in the mid range. This is Clippers Lockeroo, a recap of today's game and a look ahead on your home for LA Clippers Basketball. And now your host, You, sir, are a bad man, Adam Ousley. Clippers sweep them back to back. They win one twenty four to one thirteen in Toronto after the big comeback last night in Detroit. Welcome into your postgame show coming up. Second half highlights.

You'll hear from the head coach in Toron Low and the players after this one. But quickly, let's pause ten seconds for station identification. Here on the Los Angeles Clippers Radio network, this is LA Clippers Basketball AM five seventy KLAC Los Angeles, ninety eight seven KYSR HD two Los Angeles and iHeart Radio Station. We're rejoined by your voice of the Clippers, Noah Eagle in Toronto. How about that third quarter from the Clippers, Noah, the seemed to

pull away there. It never got closer than what twelve, at least till the very end. Correct. Well, you know, obviously the eleven point overall margin of victory, but yes, twelve was really where it got to and the Clippers extended twenty two twenty three. So Toronto did a good job of fighting, but a thirty seven to twenty sixth third quarter the opposite of

what we've seen in recent weeks from the Clippers. This is how they need to play and that how many times have we talked about this, Adam that third quarters the Golden State Warriors during their five year just dominant run, and even then last year when they went to the NBA Championship once again and took another one home, it was the third quarter that they owned that. It

was their quarter every single night. You knew they were gonna come out, make the necessary adjustments, play the full twelve minutes and either extend what was a narrow lead, or they could be down eight ten points and go into the fourth up six eight ten points. It was that type of level of dominance. And if the Clippers can find that, that's championship DNA. That's

what championship teams do. They find ways to extend leads, or to get leads, or make the necessary adjustments when they have the opportunity to do so, and there's no better opportunity than coming out of halftime. So I thought

today was a really good step in the right direction for the Clippers. And even with Kawhi Leonard not just completely dominating the game again, I thought he was a very balanced, very under control game for Kawhi on the one turnover tonight, thirty five minutes or slightly slightly under, but thirty four minute, thirty six seconds, that's the most I think he's played all season. I'll have to double check that. But fifteen point seven rebounds, eight assists,

five of twelve shooting, he didn't dominate. So to get a win like this without Kawai dominating shows just the potential of what this Clipper team looks like. And now with Norman Powell playing the way he's playing, with Paul George playing the way he's playing, and we've seen this from Avizza Zoobots all season long, this is nothing new. And he knew you heard what he said, Well, you know, I'm the most physical player on the floor.

I love the mentality. That's what you need to have from your starting center. This is a great team win, and Zoo win from laying it up in the first half to just throwing it down seemingly with every bucket he made in the second half. He was an absolute force out there with twenty three and sixteen. A beast, a Croatian monster in this game. Twenty three and sixteen is one thing, but to get to the free throw line for

twelve attempts which the other thing. And that's what I like to see a Visa Zubots because he is a good free throw shooter, and he showed that again today nine of twelve from the line. He's seen his percentage rise over the last couple of weeks after a sluggish start. He'll be at about seventy or even slightly above seventy percent now on the season. If he's taken ten free throws a game, that's basically seven points on the board and sometimes eight.

We've seen him shooting the eighty percents in his career, so him being aggressive just earned them points. And we've seen this from the Clippers too. When they get to the line, it kind of gets them in rhythm a little bit, it gets a lot it almost it trickles to everything else. Right, the three start to fall a little bit more. The ball movement looks a little bit better. They're under control because they can set their defense

so the defense looks better. Free throws can be a great equalizer, and I think the Clippers did a good job of taking advantage of the times they could get to the line tonight, going nineteen of twenty three. Toronto went twenty one of twenty six to the line. But the biggest difference in this game three point shooting, and the Clippers continue to shoot it well from three forty percent tonight fifteen of thirty eight Toronto. They have been one of the

poorest three point shooting teams in the NBA this season. They went six to twenty three. And I said it before the game and during the game. The Raptors are nine and two when they make twelve or more threes this year. After tonight they are three and seventeen when they failed to make twelve threes and six threes isn't gonna cut it now. Fred Van Vleet only plays twenty three minutes in this game because of the back injury. Malachi Flinn's a good

shooter and showed it again. He went two of three from downtown Gary. Trent went two of four, so their bench four of seven from three point territory. The rest of their team. Their starting unit went two for sixteen from three. That's good defense from the Clippers. A couple open missus, no doubt, but good defense from the Clippers. That's knowing the scouting report and playing it perfectly to a team. You know, I'm with you.

They didn't need Kawhi with Leonard to dominate, but I thought at times he controlled the game with just making the right reads on those assists and not turning the basketball over. Yeah, that's the reason I think this was such an important win for the Clippers is because of that. It's because it proved to them that it's great to have Kauai dominate. And we've seen him do it right. We saw him do it even in the Philly game when they didn't

win. He brought them back late after they gave up the big lead. He gets them back in front in the fourth quarter. Sometimes they're gonna need that, and come playoff time, I can almost guarantee or promise that they're going to need that. But for right now, this is good. This is a good sign that Norman Powell or Paul George, or of Viza Zubats

or Reggie Jackson and it didn't happen tonight. But a Marcus Morris can take over a game for the Clippers and find what they need offensively when they needed the most. I mean Nick Patoum again, it's big shots late in that second half, ends up going three of eight from downtown. Luke Kennard just didn't have it tonight was oh for three from three? How many nights is Luke knar gonna take an O for from three and you're gonna be the very

good playoff team from a year ago by double digits. It just shows you the depth of this team first and foremost, but it also proves to themselves like, hey, we can win in multiple ways and that's as important as anything in the NBA. Scary hours. Clippers next game coming up in Boston. Speaking of tip time, Thursday is at four thirty. We'll have Clippers countdown starting at three thirty. Noah, great call. As always, We'll

Norman Powell came alive against his former team. Leonard back to Canard, right wing, down the right alleys, swing it, patom extra pass Powell nearside corner three is on the way at good Norman Powell sticks a big one from the outside and makes it eighty nine seventy one La power from rights a left lobb at for Leonard on the right wing, get it right back to Powell and they give and go and he slammed with two springboard slam for Norman

Powell two minutes from haining in the third It's ninety one seventy four and pala is showing out in his return to Toronto. Was sixteen pal attacking on Flynn down the right alley, pulls up from twelve and hits another jumper eight point five on the third quarter clock, and pale is killing his former team. What's twenty two? Norman Powell with the eleven points in the third quarter,

just like he had eleven points in the second quarter. And the Clippers won the third quarter by eleven points and led ninety seven to eighty two heading into the fourth. And to close things out, how about big Zoo Canard outside Patuma left wing three two strong rebound poked around Zubots, got it and slaps it back Za su Bots just dominating the paint tonight George against Sanna Noobi. Looking at drive right, George goes down the middle of the lane, lobs

it towards the rim su Bots air Croatia. He takes off and comes down hard one eleven eighty eight cliphers Vizza Zu Boss finished with twenty three and sixteen boards will go in nine of twelve from the free throw line. movies that I hate. Clippers win in Toronto one twenty four till one thirteen. Welcome in to Clippers Talk. I'm Adam Osland to eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy. Eight six sixty nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number, or get to me at follow Adam a on Twitter. Coming up on the show, we'll have Charles Mockler on for some clips

and double dip. Plus you'll hear from Coach Low and Norman Powell, who was back playing in front of fans for the first time in Toronto since he left there went to poor. Now with the Clippers and Clipper Nation, you are blessed Norman Powell playing some one of the best basketball of his career right now. But I think it's very sustainable on this Clippers team. He's never been on a team this talented, this stacked. You can say that Raptors

team was in twenty nineteen. I think this Clippers team could have more talent. He finished with twenty two off the bench, eleven of his twenty two in the second quarter, eleven of his twenty two in the third quarter, a couple of huge throwdowns, one in the second half of a beautiful feed from Kawhi Leonard, who led them with eight assists. And that's why I

say the Claw controlled this ball game. He didn't have to dominate with the scoring, just five of twelve, took just twelve shots, had fifteen points. Because I told your pregame one of my keys was the Raptors. They are the kings of getting the ball out of your SuperStar's hands and making somebody else beat you. But if you're superstar was an elite playmaker, and Kawhi

certainly looked like that in this one. You can find the open man and you can beat him that way, and that's what he did over and over

again. He could have had four or five more assists if the Clippers knocked down a few more shots, but he had some great kickouts to three point shooters and just seemingly always made the right basketball play when it was there to be made, like in the first half when he was quadruple teamed by the Raptors and found Norman Powell for his first three pointer, first of two. That's what makes Kawhi Learns so special. He can control a basketball game in

many different facets. Today it was with his passing, and they don't win this game without him. Second night of a back to back, they sweep the back to back, coming off the big fourteen point comeback with three minutes left last night in Detroit. They get Kauai back. He goes back to Toronto along with Norman Powell. This is a huge victory for the Clippers. I don't know if he said at post game. We'll find out in a little bit here, but I gotta think the Clippers are feeling like that right

now, and so is Kawhi Leonard. Because they had twenty seven assists on forty five made shots. That is elite. That is getting the ball to the right places at the right time. That's assisting on over sixty percent of your makes. But it wasn't just them too. It wasn't just Paul George with his twenty three points on nine of eighteen shooting. Couldn't get a call and goes to the free throw line. It was funny. Late in the

fourth quarter, Raptors had at two. Within twelve, We're making a little bit of a run after the Clippers led by as many as twenty three, I want to say, and Paul George goes down the right alley, puts up a tough layup, looked like he was hit, doesn't get the call.

So the next possession down just goes behind his back, puts Scottie Barnes on skates and sticks a jumper, which I think was the dagger in this would It's like, Okay, you're not gonna give me any of these calls at the basket, at the rim, I'll just do some fancy dribbling, lose my defender, make it look like the N one Mixtape Tour, and hit a tough jumper. Five of nine from the outside. Recently, we've seen Paul George take and make a lot of three pointers, and that's a

good sign. We always looked to see he take ten threes. Well, in three of his last four games, he's taken nine or more. Very good sign from him. And the aggressiveness was much more steady in this game than what we saw in Philly, where he took half as many shots in the first half as he did, or excuse me, in the second half as he did in the first half of that one. He stayed aggressive.

Kawhi Leonard went out, it was early second quarter and Paul George scored a quick five points and then Norman Powell took over with those eleven points he had in the second quarter. Just a scoring machine. He's different than Lou william and Jamal Crawford in that way. He's just much more efficient than both guys, Quicker than both guys, the way he can get to the basket with

ease. That's what makes him so special. He has burst. You're seeing it, and this is coming off the groin injury, but he has hit the ground running coming into this game. I said this during the pregame show, but Norman Powell and I'm looking for the stat here. As I mentioned, he is on one of his best runs but last fifteen games coming into tonight, scoring eighteen a game in just twenty four minutes while shooting fifty one

percent from the field forty four percent from the outside. And during that those fifteen games was in double digit scoring points wise, and all but one now he gets twenty two off the bench in twenty two minutes against his former squad, and when the Clippers went on their runs and really started to separate themselves in that third quarter. That has been a problem for them the last three thirds. Coming into tonight, Clippers were outscored by nine points, eight points,

twelve points. Tonight in the third quarter, they came out and won it by eleven thirty seven, twenty six, and they went into that fourth quarter with some cushion, led by as many as eighteen in that third quarter, led by as many as twenty three in the fourth, would hold on to win by eleven. And I shouldn't say hold on it. I don't think the game was that much in doubt. But that number twenty three also

belongs to a Vita zubats I tweeted that follow out of May. Early in the game, in the first couple of minutes, Zubos has to punish this smaller Raptors team. And while he had a good first half, I want to say he had nine and nine, he was going for layups instead of dunks. In the second half. I think every shot he made, including a beautiful alley off a pass from Paul George in the fourth quarter, was a throwdown. Zoo was a four. I put up the old shack Reebok

logo. That's what he was looking like. Finished with twenty three points, sixteen boards, and his Noah Eagle point out. He goes nine to twelve from the free throw line. That's big. Did miss a couple on the fourth, but nine to twelve for your big man. Making them pay at the charity shipe as well. He led everyone in the plus minus category, was a plus fifteen. That's his best game since returning from injury. Zubos was great and he needed to be. They had the advantage find him.

He knew who was the most physical player on the court. He said it postgame with no Eagle and the Clippers had that advantage. They finally really started to exploit it. Just find Big Zoo and get out the way. But there was great ball movement, there was balanced scoring. Four players with twenty or more, Zubos with twenty three. Reggie Jackson had an under the radar stellar performance. Everything from him. I think there was one floater the rest

all threes and buckets and layups right at the rim. He was nine to fifteen to get to his twenty points and put a lot of downhill pressure on the rim, twenty and thirty one minutes, his best game since returning from the injury. So some really good performances heading in. So what's gonna be a good one on Thursday in Boston? You know they're looking for revenge after the Clippers beat him up in Los Angeles. They win one twenty four to

one thirteen in Toronto over the Raptors. Raoul and Baldwin Park. Start things off tonight here on Clippers Talk. Rool, you're on, man, you're killing me, Smalls. Damien in LA. I didn't even screen this call, but I know it's Damien in Los Angeles and he's not gonna let me down. Sir, Damian, what's up? You're on Clippers Talk, Yo, what's up? Adam? How's it going? Man? Great win? Great win? You know, I really I can't say enough about the performance,

but I'll keep it brief because we go over so much. I got three things that I want to get to. Man. First off, I gotta get my game ball. Game ball has to go to Zoo, you know, And it was tough between him and Norman Powell, but Zoo gave us everything that we need. I got a new nickname for him. I'm calling him to La Zoo. All right, that's what I'm gonna do. Man. You know, we started from the bottom and now we're here.

Brother, Hey man, you know, Coach Lou went into this game and he asked Clippers, he said, I better find your loving I better find your heart. And we responded, you know what I'm saying, like, I mean, what a win. Like. It's a different team from last night. They looked like they just never turned back after that over time, you know, and they just went forward with it. It was great. Yeah, the Clippers showing some improvements out there and some growth, not relinquishing

a lead in this one. They win by eleven, but they led by as many as twenty three. He never really felt they were in too much danger. They were able to hit big shots when they needed them, including Nicholas a big three early in the fourth quarter. Once you know that's what he does. One at the eleven minute mark, one at the nine minute mark. I thought the Clippers just hit a couple of those big shots when

they were going through a little bit of a scoring slump. The Raptors were starting to make some end roads and then Reggie Jackson hits a floater and puts the Clippers back up by fifteen. Just little shots like that make all the difference. I mentioned that step back jumper from Paul George put them back up by fourteen. They couldn't break it down to single digits tonight. That's Toronto Raptors after being down big and Betune finished things off with the three pointer or

to put him up one twenty four to one O nine. That was the Dagger. Raptors weren't going to be able to overcome that over the Clippers dead body to keep up with the Drake lines there. Clippers win with Drake and attendance in Toronto one twenty four to one thirteen. Norman Powell first time playing in front of fans back in Toronto since he left there after winning a ring. He had twenty two off the bench, one of his best games so far as a Clipper. But I still think the best is yet to come.

I mean, we've seen twenty two points in just a quarter from Norman Powell before when he came back to bite his former team in the Blazers,

right before he got injured. So that's how good he's been after a slow start to this season and the Clippers are finding something and maybe that victory in the style and the fashion they wanted in in Detroit, maybe they reminded themselves of who they are, and maybe they have had enough of these close calls with teams coming back on them that they've learned their lesson in that way too. We'll see they're going to be embosson on Thursday. Should be a good

one. More on that, plus coming up postgame audio from coach Lou and the players. Clippers win one twenty four to one thirteen in Toronto over the Raptors. Jeff Mockler will join us from clips and Dip two here on Clippers Talk on the Los Angeles Clippers Radio Network on a five seventy oli s fours centric living is a big shrug. I lie filled with That's what I love. I love what plateau is, what we're above. If it diss us,

we won't even think of. And he got it. Count it from distance the odds on favorite to hoist the Larry O'Brien heavily can test it and it doesn't matter on the home of your LA Clippers States, making my weight, Oh fly skates the question I will speak for cracks and wheat. The combination made by Clippers went in Toronto one four, one thirteen. They improved a twenty one and fifteen on the season. So we'll come back in the

Clippers stock. I'm Adam Moslin eight six six ninety seven two five seventy eight six six ninety seven two five seventy. I talked about Kawhi Leonard controlling this game, doing it with his passing and making some of those little plays that

fly under the radar that you forget about. But with the Clippers up by twelve with just under four minutes left on the ball game, they were in a proprecarious position as the Toronto Raptors were trying to make a run and Reggie Jackson missed a shot and Kawhi Leonard got in there, boardman, gets paid, gets the offensive rebound, puts it back up and was fouled. Hits

both free throws and they go back up by fourteen. Just little plays like that from Kawhi And by the way, after that challenge by Nick Nurse, anybody could have gone up for that jump ball, and Kawhi Leonard faced up against Scottie Barnes and won the jump ball if you want to know how his acl is feeling there, there was some leadership there and just Kawhi feeling good. He also had a tip in off a miss from Norman Powell. He tried to get it in, followed his own shot and eventually got it to

go. Was one twenty one to one oh seven. Just winning plays by your superstar when you needed him most, and the Clippers win by eleven. He was a plus eleven in Toronto over the Raptors, who I know are fifteen and eighteen. That is an injury influenced record. They're better than that. They're tenants seven now at home. They're a really good defensive team. Og Nanobi maybe your defensive player of the year. He's spectacular and Kawai took

him to the woodshed a few different times. He had a turnaround shot, he hit over him. He had a block on him, another Chase Down block, speaking about his explosiveness. He was called for the foul, but Kawhi looked really good out there. And now they're going and facing a Boston Celtics team that is out for revenge on the Clippers after what they did to them in LA just a few weeks back. Eight six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number

before we hear from Coach Low. Let's go to Lenny in Inglewood. Is this Lenny? Lenny? What's up? Adam Moss? Lenny? What's up here? Clippers Talk? I got you, Lenny, I got you, I got you Lenny? All right, I guess I'm on listening. You're dropping jams on him. Man, he said, uh PC, but og on skates and he shook up block and one mixtape. I like that, the professor word Smith. Good wind to night, though, man, really good wind to night. I like the fact that you know there's three,

you know, our three scores between Kauai PG and Norman Pow. It's it's it's it's like almost avery. How we'd line up with some of these other cats, because because you take Boston, he take Nets and particularly the Nests,

the way that they're they're they're they're they're bomber. Right now, you gotta walk into the gym and to be able to put up eighty points on the board before the game even starts, and with Norm Powell coming off the bench playing like that, and to mean, nobody else plays like him, because you're right, pg's finesse, the wise power and power is explosive and that's that is a three prong attack. And now that's fourth. That fourth attack is Luke Kennard. And you know, like you said, I don't

think he's gonna go like that. You know, uh, three games where he goes only hits what he got any points tonight, but as long as he could find his stroke. Man, we don't go d because Eva is holding it down in the middle of which I like. But even when we get even when we got to go small ball, we could put points on the board. And Nick Batoum is just I mean, I almost want to

say, man, he's the leader of his team. You know what he said the other day to get those guys together, like we've been here before. That's just long, that's just experience, man, veteran leadership. Just you know, I mean the voice of you know, of calm in the storm. So yeah, very good win tonight. And I like the fact that you said we want it and quiet and have to dominate. You know, we're rounding in the rounding in the form and uh yeah, so good

things. They had met for the Clippers. I've been excited. Lenny a great phone call and good call on Nick Batoum. I've been saying it for a while. He is the Clippers. He embodies Clippers culture, their identity, his leadership invaluable. You can't quantify just how much Nick Batoum means to this team. He is his doc Rivers once said about another player unsteatable. Now the stats have been pretty good. He's been shooting over forty three percent

from the outside. He had nine, he had seven to assist a steal. There was a play. I marked this because the passing was so elite, But it was Kennard attacking who went over four in this game. By the way, it doesn't matter. That's how deep this Clippers team is. Kennard driving, kicking it out to Batoum, and I want to say, yeah, I was Norman Powell putting up a three pointer. It was just elite ball movement. Hot potato, Idaho, hot potato by the Clippers.

They were really good in that area. But Nick Batoum is one of those nexus points, a connector. He just makes everything work. Someone set on Twitter I retweeted it. But Nick Batouma is like the long piece and tetris. That's we're always looking for to save you. All right, let's hear from coach lu post game. Clippers win one twenty four to one thirteen in

Toronto over the Raptors. There was coach, but it was what seven zero or seven two had a look confusion and start the game, and I thought, I have to call that time out and just got everybody locked in. I thought he did a good job just playing it all the way through the game for forty eight minutes. And this is one of our most complete games

of the season. And just like you know, no excuses, like every team plays back to backs, every team has playing trouble, but just to come out and you know, a good team like this and play the way we did, especially on their home floor, it was a good thing to see. It's fun to see Norm have that kind of game from this oh for sure, you know, come back and gets his tribute and I'm playing well like that. It was good to see and so the guys were happy for him, and I'm happy for him as well. So it was it

was good. Coach. What was that conversation like with Kawhi about Wine playing this game? Was there a short conversation. Did he just tell you that he wanted to do it or how did that go? Toronto? Great, that's what he said, and we went back to back Detroit of Toronto, Toronto, short conversation, Doctor forty one minutes last night, come in and you know, two he did on the glass again, just how impressively been

by what he's been able to do this year. Yeah, he's been great, you know, and my problems just trying not to run him down too early in the season, you know, and so he's been amazing for us all year and playing forty one minutes last night, and you know, just try to get his minutes down as best as we could. And so Nico him came in. They did a good job. Our small line up was pretty good tonight, and so he was able to get him down to thirty

one. But he was a monster on the glass. Ten offensive rebounds, you know, or three at the basket verticality, and then he did a good job of guarding Scottie Barnes and he just did a lot for us. And so off of back to back for big Man, you know, he really did a good job tonight. Coach how White had a really good game. Maybe I think from some story, butts so I'm worth h alcs.

Iimportune utes to up like this a player. What is you know, it's very important, you know, especially coming back to Toronto, just having you know, your star player just taking the defense gives him, not forcing it, not worrying about shots. And your team was gonna double team, and like we knew, Nick wasn wasn't gonna let him play. So you know when he double team and triple team, just making the right reading, the easy pass, and we got a lot of shots that we didn't make tonight.

You know that we got a lot of open three So I love the offense. You know, the first three quarters of just how we generate open shots and they double team. Kai made the simple past simple play, and that's when it takes to win. You know, you got a sacrifice. When teams are gonna do that, we have to pick them apart. But you gotta move the basketball and make the right play. He did it all night. Oh by the way, Clippers had just nine turnovers, six in

the first half, just three in the second half. That's another way you can hold onto a lead before we break. Here, Javier and Lahabra heights. Javier, what's up? You're on Clippers stop without hm, Austin, I don't can hear me, I can hear you. I don't know what dull to be on far Uh real quick, you took the wars out of my mouth. You just said it's a couple of secons ago. I can't believe nobody brought this up about he had nine turnovers for the game, and

that's that's a key there, nine turnovers. Also, I'm you know, I always look at stats, and I'm looking at the stats here and what they made fifteen threes and they shot at what eighty two percent on the feet to line. That's that's the that's the way to do it. And also look at the statue under starters. I guess Tylou did want to win this game because I think most of the starters did play over thirty minutes. So that was a good sign there. Next thing is real quick at him uh

zoobok. Like you said earlier, he had to take over and he did. That was the lueback that we saw in November, so that's good for him. And then Norman Pow I mean, what twenty two points, that's that's the normal pow. We we were used to, so you know, acting is just hopefully john Wall made attention and saw that the Clippers only he turned the ball over nine times. Hopefully when he comes back, you know he protects the ball and doesn't turn the ball over because you know how he's

been playing, so he's been a little bit erratic. I appreciate the phone call high here and I apologize to Raoul earlier. Maybe he just couldn't hear something wrong on the phone lines to nine. I don't know what it is. John Wall has been up and down, especially in the month of December, but wasn't in the game for this one. He hasn't played back to back so far this year either, But they had enough. They had plenty.

Luke Nard goes oh for four and it doesn't matter. The best three point shooter in the league, a guy flirting with fifty fifty ninety splits that hasn't been done since the nineties with Steve Kerr with a short and three point line. Clippers unreal the amount of talent they've accumulated. Credits to the front office. Norman Powell is a big part of this. I always he thought

he'd be the perfect fit next to Kawai and Paul George. And now you're seeing it because he's one of those missing links when it comes to getting easy baskets, rim pressure points in the paint, gain to the free throw line. Norman Powell provides all that speed and this is this is as explosive as I've ever seen him. Look with some of these dunks he's had since returning from the groin injury, it's been unbelievable, including a couple of poster dunks

he missed. He's got bounce. Clippers win once twenty four to one thirteen. They bounce out of Toronto. They're going to Boston. Tiptime Thursday is at four thirty. Well, I've Clippers countown at three thirty. Coming up next, we'll get back to your phone calls eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy. We'll talk with Charles Moflier from Clips and dip here on Clipper Stock on Amp five seventy

LS fours. Speech they're now was blocked by George. This is La Clippers basketball. He is a one man ricket crawl and defensive man. On the home of your LA Clippers. Last time that five times on my neck, it was no smart on my BP. Last time that I was winning Toronto one twenty four to one thirteen as they dominate the second half and improved with twenty one and fifteen on the season. Next up the Boston Celtics in Boston

Thursday. Welcome back into Clippers stock. I'm autam Oslin. We'll get to your phone calls at eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety seven two five seventy and you can get to me on Twitter at follow adam Ay. But you know the song and know what it means. It ain't the bat signal, It's a stash signal, I guess with Charles Mackler in this case, Charles Mockler from Clips in Dip is joining us does

the tripod as we're doing once tomorrow with William Updike as well. Charles, thanks for doing this tonight. Who do you give the gold medal too in this game? Oh man? The gold medal for this game? I'm stealing Southern from the law of the jam. All right, little it's that joke. Can we give it to all four guys who hit twenty points. I mean, I might go zoo. The sixteen boards were huge. We just had so much efficiency from guys. But I think in terms of the field

goodness of it, you gotta give it to Norm Powell. First time back, I'm in Toronto with fans, coming off the injury. He's just fantastically efficient. Again, he looked charged up, So I think I gotta give it to Norm Powell tonight, charged up, super charged, twenty two points off the bench in twenty two minutes on eight of fourteen, shooting back in Toronto, got his flowers, his tribute video. They've been very appreciative of

he and Kawhi Leonard. I thought Kawhi really controlled this game with his passing. You knew the double and triple and quadruple teams at times. We're coming from Toronto. That's just how they played defensively, That's what they like to do. But Kawhi was ready for it and just made the right pass over and over again. E'd assist to one turnover. Yeah, I mean Norm said at post game that everyone just kind of worked well around the A tenth

attention that Kawhi and PG were getting from the Raptors. It's something that a bunch of people in Raptors Twitter we're tweeting about not feeling too excited about it, considering how well everyone was able to move off the ball when it hit our two main guys. But I think clips fan got to see, if you weren't really aware of it now, just how important Kawhi is this team. Yeah, he tends to be, you know, in top five conversations

right now already. It's funny people have been saying this season Kawhi doesn't look right. He looks washed, and I don't know what they're watching at times because speaking of charged up, he's moving the ball to the front court with more pace than I think he played with his first couple of years as a Clipper. It just seems like he's intent on speeding things up and helping guys get to their spots quicker, because we know how much more efficient this offense

is when they get into their sets faster. Yeah, I mean, he's kind of had a couple of ramp up periods for the Clippers, but it feels like, I mean, it is hard to deny that he just is moving with a bit more pep in his step. I know the Raptors do a really good job of maybe too good of a job of focusing on stars.

So tonight he did only get full field goal attempts. But you're right, he's getting guys, you know, kind of locked into where they're supposed to be a lot sooner, and that's just going to help the Clippers so much, specially when it comes to playoff time, when the half court offense becomes that much more important with a shortened rotation, which we did kind of see tonight with only you know, eight guys playing over twelve minutes or so.

But you'll love to see, you know, Kawai the general Leonard of getting into farm. He goes for his season's minute high at just under thirty five minutes. Slowly but surely he's getting back to his usual minutes and we're not even in twenty twenty three left yet. That is a great sign. So was what we saw from a Vizza Zoo boss, because two things you knew were what we're going to happen tonight. The Toronto Raptors. Defensively,

they were going to load up against the Superstars. But also they play small, they don't really have many options to anything else, And I vizza zoobots had an opportunity to punish them, and that's what he did. Yeah, I mean, twenty three and sixteen by itself is very impressive, but when you look at the fact that he had ten offensive boards against the Toronto Raptors team, who it's hard to get offensive boards again, I mean, it really helped set the tone early and kind of keep the tone set, if

that makes sense. We love seeing Zoo get over thirty minutes. I mean, he was a team best plus fifteen tonight it was you know, nine to twelve. He's great from the free throw line too. So Zoo continues to have his best season in the NBA. And yeah, you know what I'm this was a fifteenth double double. He's already had as many as he did all the last year. And you know, like you just said,

we're not even in to twenty twenty three yet. So Zoo's an iron man, which is probably at one point was his biggest, you know, piece of value of the Clippers. But now he's just stepped up so well defensively, and this season or this off season with zero basket seems to have made him a little more assertive on the other side of the ball, so I mean, just it keeps going up into the right for zoom, big zoo, a force on both ends right now. Sorry, Carl Tart, and

I'm sorry for that indirect he caught a stray. I don't know. I don't know. I had to go there, Nichols Batum, I think I saw you tweeted it out at Clippers Pod, but somebody had one of the best tweets I've seen all season long so far, saying Nick Batum is that long extension piece and tetris that you're always looking for because it just makes everything else work and you just clear a bunch of blocks at once. Yeah.

I mean, if you look at lineups and I don't have all the days in front of the lineups with the Nick Batoum and Luke tend to be ones that played pretty well for the Clippers. And this is because not only can Nick Batoum move the ball well, he can shoot the ball very quickly and very well. He constantly just makes the right decision, and you know, it's great seeing him play with kind of the top of the line lineup sick. He should be playing with with everyone healthy or as healthy as the Clippers.

He can be with only missing John Wall today compared to having to kind of clean up worst lineups defensively, so just being able to slot him in, you know, next to Morris and PG and Kauai, you just absolutely want to see it. We saw the lineup of Kennard, Norm, Kawai, Morrison, Battum and it was just fantastic to see the switchability and the offense that they can bring together. Nick Batum hadn't hit a shot until the fourth quarter and then all three of his mates were from three just big shots

to keep Toronto at bay. Because there had been some worry with the Clippers blowing leads recently, most recently in Philadelphia up by Mony, that a team could come back on them, this seemed like, you know, a character building type of win, even going back to yesterday. Maybe there was some carryover when you come back on a team down fourteen after you blow a fifteen

point lead and find a way to get the victory. It just seems like the Clippers things are starting to click for them, and maybe there's some vibes from that big comeback victory a few years ago over the Atlanta Hawks, where Nick Batum said something was born out of that game. Maybe we're seeing that once again with this new group. I think we might be. I loved how Tyler kind of kept going with more. He was having a great game,

so I think he got some extensive run. But we're now two days past the Nicholas Batum deadline of the Clippers starting to turn around around Christmas, and he's pretty on point with it so far. I'm gonna also check my gant chart to see where we're at progress wise, but he's pretty on point with that. It is funny the game yesterday. I woke up and almost felt like we lost it based on kind of what the timeline was looking like in things like that. But there's not a lot of There's not too much.

You gonna be upset at two and oh on a back to back like this over the holidays. Yeah, And Kawhi Leonard makes all the difference in this one in Toronto, controling the ball game, Clippers winning one twenty four to one thirteen over the Raptors. He is Charles Chuck Updyke, excuse me, Charles Mockler. William Updyke, also of Clips and Dip. He'll be on with us, I think on Thursday. But We got a tripod tomorrow with myself, William Updyke and Charles Mockler. Charles, thanks for doing this

tonight. Thanks for having mus go clip Coming up next, You're gonna hear from Norman Powell post game after the Clippers go back to Toronto. He was playing in front of fans for the first time since he left them and left him wanting more. He had twenty two and twenty two minutes. Clippers win by eleven over the Raptors, and you're listening the Clippers top. You're on Amp five seventy only Sports, trying to take away from an play again and

pray for you and people. He got it. Count it from distance, the odds on favorite to hoist the Larry o'bright heavily contested, and it doesn't matter on the home of your La Clippers. Still Luca did one. Sorry, I got distracted. Clippers win one twenty four to one thirteen in Toronto over the Raptors, Kawhi with eight assists to one turnover four players with twenty or more and Kawhi wasn't one of them. Zoo Boss Reggie Jackson, Paul

George and Norman Powell off the bench Clippers get the victory. They dominate the second half. They improved to twenty one and fifteen before we hear from Norman Powell. Let's get to Morrison, Long Beach, Morris, what's up here? On Clippers? Stop without Amasson Morris? You're oh, Adam, I couldn't hear you. What a Clipper's going to show you? How thero You got another game on Thursday? Make it Funday. Everybody's gonna say, hey, but a nice player's got a real nice team. Wee can back that

thing up. Man, we're in a playoff. Run back that thing up. I'll see you thay behave yourself. Oh the juvenile remix once again? Amazing Morrison Long Beach. Everyone, all right, let's hear from Norman Powell. He went eight to fourteen, two or three from distance, got to the ram and threw it down multiple times to get to his twenty two points. And here he was on Valley Sports post game, which iman Maggio. Uh, Norm your first time back in this building with the fans. Here,

you heard the tribute, you saw the standing ovation. You started your NBA career here. You want a championship here? What was it like for you? To be back here with the fans, it was amazing. You know, things happened to make this happen. Last year I had a chance to come back with their no fans, and unfortunately I have some family issues. But to be able to come back here and uh play in front of these these amazing fans that supported me from the beginning is amazing. The tribute

was great. Fray was messing with me thinking I was gonna cry. So this is a good feeling to be back in the city, be back under this roof here where everything started. So it's a fourth circle moment for me. And what an awesome game you had, incredibly efficient twenty two points in twenty three minutes. You were eight of fourteen from the field. Clippers. Great job tonight overall two It was in the third quarter where you guys were

able to create some separation. In fact, you finished with the final eleven points in the quarter and Clippers went into the final frame with a fifteen point lead. What were you guys able to take advantage of there in the third quarter. I'm just a kidder to play, you know, I know how how they like to play this playing style in the third quarter. They like to get up and be aggressive and speed the game up, especially how the

game was going. So I just told the guys to be ready for their pressure and how they're gonna try to speak up and we're able to handle that and take advantage of their over rotations on the doubles with PG and why and

in our second unit came in and kept the same manage. I didn't even know I had those eleven points, but just work in a game and uh then I letting the excuses of last night of coming in late with the playing issues and everything affect us, but coming out here and putting our best foot forward and coming out with energy. I was gonna say that was the most impressive to me because it was a late night, get into the hotel around four am, just knowing it's a second night of a back to back,

it's on the road. You're getting in at four am. What was the mindset coming in to bring the energy? Yeah, you know, I'm make sure we hide jaded and were ready for me. It didn't matter if you've got in at six I was gonna be ready. I was looking forward to this game, so I had all the energy I needed. But the guys did a great job and being ready, and they hit that the first initial pushing the first quarter, and we're able to sustain that and spload a game

down and make place for all of us. Clippers improved to two and one on this road trip. Thank you, Yeah, keep it going. Clippers overcome a late flight on top of it all, they win one forty four to one thirteen after getting into Toronto late. They take down the Raptors, win by eleven, and up next they will be in Boston to face the Celtics again, a team they dominated it in Los Angeles. Celtics will be looking for a retribution. Not going to be an easy one. Tip time.
