He ties his playoff career high with forty five, and the Clippers league ninety eight ninety Calm the claw, Calm the terminator, Calm Kawhi legend. All I know is winning doubt. Let Kawhi Leonard bail you out. He drops forty five as he heard from Noah Eagle there and the Clippers force a game seven. They win Game six in Dallas one oh four to ninety seven. Welcome
in two Clippers Talk. I'm at a Moslin eight seven seven five two zero eleven. Fifty eight seven seven five two zero eleven. Fifty is the phone number coming up here on the show. You'll hear from Kawhi Leonard, post game, Paul George, head coach T Lou plus my guy Law Murray from The Athletic will be here. Far Broyd s and Shari from SI Now will join the show as well. We'll get to all of your phone calls and
we'll get your tweets in also at follow Adam a on Twitter. When your best is required in the playoffs, who do you look to but someone like Kawhi Leonard. You have to play your best in spots like this, when your back is against the wall in a must win situation. He just had.
I can't say it's his best playoff game ever, which is really saying something because the game seven, obviously with the Toronto Raptors in Philadelphia, where he had the Plinko chip game winner that fell, that's likely his best game ever. But this was his best game in a Clippers uniform when they needed it most. Kawhi Leonard came through. He finishes with forty five. I
don't think he even scored in the first six minutes. It was almost like a feel out process, and then he realized he had to take over. Had just three points in the first quarter, then had thirteen points in the second quarter. Was assertive, aggressive, but he had it going early with the jumper his first I think three buckets were all from the outside, and you knew good things were going to happen. Then if he has that going,
the defense has had his mercy. And oh, Luca Dontich was late in the fourth quarter when Kawhi Leonard was picking on him for once the tables turned. It was Luca Dontchich looking for the mismatches, and the first five games of this series matchup hunting, looking for the weakest link out there on
the court to get matched up with in terms of Clippers defenders. This time it was Kawhi Leonard who was going right after Luca, hitting multiple threes over him in the fourth quarter, where he had twelve of his forty five points. Had seventeen points in the third quarter alone. Kawhi Leonard did scored sixteen in the first half, outdid that in twelve minutes in the third quarter with seventeen points. But as always, it's a team game. It's a team
win or it's a team loss. Reggie Jackson came out and for the second time in this series now the Clippers have handed the Dallas Mavericks a loss after Dallas wins the first quarter. They were twenty nine and zero when winning first quarters all season long heading into Game three, the Clippers would get a victory. Then after Dallas still won the first quarter, they win tonight twenty eight
to twenty six in the first quarter. And the reason it was that close, and the reason the Clippers had twenty six points in that first quarter was because Reggie Jackson had fifteen of his twenty five points in the first twelve minutes. He showed up. Reggie Jackson knocked it out of the park. Mister June, he want to call him that. He was huge. Credit ty Loo for making the adjustment and putting him in the starting lineup starting with Game
three, and then also Paul George early in that fourth quarter. He struggled at times in this game, had five turnovers, really struggled in the third, but we've seen him turn things around all season long. Come the fourth quarter, he had seven quick points, had their first bucket, I believe in the fourth quarter, a jumper look confident, hit a three pointer, and had a huge block on a Tim Hardaway junior attempt at three that you just felt like was probably going to go in if you're a Clippers fan,
because it's been like that all series long for him. He still finished with twenty three points. Luca Dontage finished with twenty nine, got some cheape's late, but he was held to eleven of twenty four from the field two of
nine from three still had eleven assists. Still Luka Dontich, but Kawhi Leonard and the rest of the team collectively did about as good of a job as you could defensively in this game against Luca and the rest of the Dallas Mavericks, holding them to just ninety seven points, held him to eighty one in Game four ninety seven. In a must win Game six, they pull it out thanks to Kawhi Leonards heroics. He win eighteen of twenty five from the
field. That is a blistering seventy two percent, But remember in games two, three, and four he shot seventy one percent from the field. He has an off game in Game five where he goes seven of nineteen for just twenty points and completely redeems himself dumb and Dumber style with a forty five spot in a must win Game six in the Lions Den in Dallas, and oh yeah, it's the first time in history the road team has won at the other team's home court on the other team's home court in every game in the
first six games to start off this series. We're hoping that trend stops now is Game seven is back at Staples Center, twelve thirty tip time on Sunday. That's the dreaded twelve thirty tip time. The Clippers have to break through that, they have to find a way. We got your pregame show starting at eleven thirty am. You're listening to Clipper Stock. I'm atam Osland at eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five two zero eleven
fifty is the phone number you know what for once. Let's start things off with Jeff and Tarzana. Jeff, in a night like this, I'm feeling generous as Kawai was given the Dallas Mavericks plenty of buckets. Jeff, what's up? Never Adam, Adam, I have never in all the years I've in following basketball, ever seen a series like this. This is incredible highlights and in some cases low lights, but is it true that the Clippers have not won a playoff games? They've lost eight in a row at home.
The last time they won at home was I believe game five in twenty seventeen in the first round against the Utah Jazz. Well, how many games wouldn't that make? I saw a staff the other night. They're like eight games or something. So they lost I believe three against the Golden State Warriors at home. They lost their last two. There's five. But you know what, this is a different team, and they've got Kawhi Leonard all right, But but what I'm saying, Adam's still eight games. I don't know if
it's eighth straight losses at home. But yeah, Jeff, it's been a lot. Can we focus on the positives now? Kawhi at forty five incredible. You know what. I cannot believe how good Reggie Jackson is in everything. And I don't know what's gonna happen someday, Adam, nobody knows what's gonna happen. I hope the Clippers win, but I'll tell you three guys they should not get rid of for next year, no matter what happens. Or Kawai Paul George and Reggie Jackson. I was wondering on your personal on
behalf, because you're a lot closer to the team than I am. How many of these players do you think are not going to be with the Clippers next year? Oh, Jeff. They just win in dramatic fashion in a must win game by seven to force a game seven, and we're talking about the off season. I don't want to go there yet. We're not there yet. This Clippers team obviously isn't done. They refuse to lose. In
this game. It was a lot of Kawhi Leonard and Reggie Jackson. I thought Marcus Morris, while going one for ten and oh three from distance, well, as much as he struggled offensively, I thought at times his defense was brilliant, whether it was against Bobon or Luca don Chich. The Clippers only got four points from their bench, and they still put up one oh four. The starters scored one hundred points in this game for them, and
they survive shooting just ten of thirty four from three. We've been talking about they are due for a hot shooting game from distance, and I thought the three ball could be there undoing in this game. But Kawhi Leonard wouldn't let it happen because he had five of their ten makes from distance. Reggie Jackson had three, Paul George had two, a big one in the fourth quarter. That's less than thirty percent. This team is shooting about thirty four percent
from three in this series. That is unlike the Clippers, who all season long led the league in three point percentage at forty one point one percent, fourth best shooting during a regular season in NBA history. They gotta be due. They gotta be due to hit some of these wide open three pointers that they missed tonight. But Kawhi Leonard would not miss Bull's eye. He was an absolute marksman in the fourth quarter with twelve of his forty five points.
Seventeen of those forty five came in the third, and the Clippers force a Game seven back at Staples Center m on Sunday. Zach Lcaldy, our producer and technical engineer back here in Burbank, just said their last playoff home win was against the Utah Jazz, but it was back in twenty seventeen in Game two. They won that game ninety nine to ninety one. So Jeff and
Tarzana maybe right about one thing. They may have lost eight straight playoff games at Staples Center, but there isn't a Clipper that was on that team that is on this team currently, so I'm not sure how much you can draw from that. We just saw history being made within this series where for the first time, the first six games were won by the road team. It's never happened before. All right, let's go to Sean and Inglewood. Sean, you're on Clipper stop without a Maslin. What's up? Sean? Hey?
Hey double any thanks to the line. And I just want to say thank you to Jeff and Carzana because I thought I had the most negative phone call in the week and he just really topped it. So thank you, Jeff. I don't feel so bad anymore. Anyway, I did want to say good victory, Clippers. I also agree with you, Adam, is that the three ball. I think they were going to it much too early
instead of trying to establish down low. Of course, I keep saying we should have a big man to have a download threat sometimes and he should work the ball in and then out, not out bout a three point line is then, Sean, that's not modern basketball unless you have Joel em beat or
Nikola Yokich. Nobody does that anymore. This is twenty twenty one. I'll tell you what if they If they win this series and get to the next series and play boogie and go down to the low post and Dylan he doesn't have anything and he kicks it out, you'll see that percentage, Sean, one of you thinks happening to boogie. On the other end, having to guard Luka dontchee, who he's going to look for every time down, that
is a mismatch. That's why they are going small, to have more defenders, more versatility defensively, to guard one of the hottest players we've ever seen. Okay, since when does your you're six foot eleven guy guard the guard when you got two seven foot three guys on the on the on the Sean, have you watched this series? How many times he's John? Have you watched this series with how many times Luka Doncic has drawn Avitsa Zubots out to
the perimeter. It's been happening this entire series. Zeka Dubach is not DeMarcus Cousins. DeMarcus ain't fallen for that, Sean. I appreciate the phone call. It kind of turned into some negativity. We need something positive to start things off here on Clippers Talk. You know what, Let's go to CJ in Alhambra. CJ. Help me out, man, b R Kawhi, Leonard Tonight, pick us up. Let me tell you something. My heart is still beating out of my chest. I have to find in the corner
of the room. Man. This was this was something else. This is for the ages. And one thing that I really liked was how Kawai silenced all the haters, the maysayers, the doubters. And then one other thing that that was really remarkable was a lot of the great play that we saw in defense offense was in the closing final minutes of the game, which is something that we have been criticized time and time and time him again, and so this was real solid play. I would like to see a little bit
more, Marcus Morris. I'd like to see your boy play. Yeah, Marcus Morris played forty two minutes. Do you want him to play the entire game? I'm a little more production would help. Okay, est minute, he's he's due. Now, you're right, he's due from distance, for sure. You know, so I mean, you know, other than that, I mean I'm glad our superstars finally came. All this talk about whereas playoff Paul George has been silenced, Kawai got his chance and his moment tonight
to silence the critics. The team on a hole showed guests we could close it out. I'm feeling real, real anxious and real excited about Sunday's game, even though the way the pattern's been going, it kind of seems we win over in Dallas, they win here in La. So maybe Bomber should float the ticket to get all those Dallas spans out to Staples Center and we could work it to our advantage. Huh, CJ, thank you for the phone call. Game seven on Sunday back at Staples Center. Records are made
to be broken. Trends like this, with the road team winning every game in a series, it's also meant to be broken. The Clippers will try to do that on Sunday and close out the Dallas Mavericks. But what a victory tonight to extend the season. Kawhi extends himself with forty five points ties a playoff high, unreal performance. I talked about MJA ninety six and the comparisons a lot last season with Kawhi Leonard. You definitely saw that tonight.
He's the first player in NBA post season history to now have four games in a single series of at least twenty nine points while shooting at least sixty six percent from the field. There's your superstar. More Clippers stock coming up next eight seven, seven, five two zero, eleven fifty. The lines are full. I'll screen him during the break. This is the Patriot eleven fifty. The quest for the Larry O'Brien is ah for them to get to the
Promised Land for the first time in franchise history. You're listening to La Clippers playoff basketball on their exclusive hold. Five minutes gone on the third quarter, Jackson top of the keys of a two left wing down the left, Dally pounced, pass it inside. What a feed O. Kawhi Leonard with amendment hammer with a right hand sixty two sixty, Clippers down by a deuce with
seven oh one to play the third, Noah Eagle and the call. The Clippers answered the call in a must winston situation in Dallas, they were victorious. Kawhi Leonard had forty five and they win one to oh four to ninety seven over the Mavericks to force a game seven. Back at Staples Censor on Sunday. Welcome back into Clipper Stock. I'm out of Maslin eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty is the
phone number. Kawhi Leonard is just the sixth player in the shot clock era and the first since Lebron James when he did it. And I believe this is the game six, must win game in Boston back in twenty twelve to score at least forty five points while shooting at least seventy two percent from the field in a postseason game. He joins Bob McAdoo as the only players in franchise history to score at least forty five points in a postseason game. And
we got that game in Clippers rewind. Clippers win by seven to force a game seven. Let's go to Tagus in Walnut. Tagus, what's up? You're on Clipper stop without Austin Adam. What an awesome game? You know? I was on tins and needles the whole game, yelling at the team v screen. But when Kawai started going off. I was just remembering Lillard from the other day, and I was like, Kawai is doing his best Lillard impersonation. On the offensive end, I'd say he's doing his best Kawhi.
I mean he's done this before. He tied a postseason career high with forty five. Yeah. And when I said like a little impersonation, it was on the offensive end, because on the defensive end, Kawai was just like magnificent. He's been getting a lot of slack that he can guard Luca. But if you have the numbers when Kawai's guarding Luca, I think his percentage is in the thirties. So I hope that's cleared up and it does solidify the Quai is the best two way player in the game. I think
it's taken for granted quite often. And I also wanted to say it seemed like when I'm looking at the game on Sunday Games five and six, Rick Carlisle has just been playing lot of zone D and he's enticing the Clipper role players to make the threes and beat them. So I was encouraged with the looks that they got the Clippers because I thought they got far better looks than Dallas on the three point line. What do you think is going to happen
Sunday? Do you think the role players are going to have to keep shooting those threes or are they gonna have to take it to the basket because they're crowding the paint and I'm sure they're gonna be doubling quiet a little bit harder. So what's got to happen for them to put out the victory on Sunday? And how sweet would it be if we went on Sunday at the twelve thirty time, because I think earlier in the year we lost by fifty two
Dallas at that twelve thirty time. Tage this great phone call, they lost by fifty one. Yes, they could exercise some demons here. I think they have to continue to attack no matter what. Because they did get to the free throw on twenty eight times, they only hit twenty two of them. Reggie Jackson missed a couple, Paul George was just six of ten from
the free throw line. You hope those open threes that the Clippers are gotten to fall all season long were the law of averages at this point should be on their side for a hot shooting night, you would think, but I don't know if you want to rely on that. I don't know if you want to be too reliant on living or dying by the three. And I would say attack no matter who is in there. We saw Bobie get moved out of the way in Game four by Kawhi Leonard when he went to the
basket. Anthony in North Hollywood, Anthony, what's up? You're on Clippers stock without in Awslin, How are you? Yeah? What's up? A hell of a game today? I honestly thought the Clippers are lose, being a long suffering Clipper fan, but I'm glad they showed to Moxie and they finally took it to Dallas. To me, the game plan has got to be simp on Sunday. I know it's an early start time and they kind of sleep whilest. They better come out like their lives on the line on
Sunday. You gotta throw two defenders like they didn't second half at Luca. I don't care what it takes. If you've got to throw a third, third defender to Kawai's gotta take it. That assignments, even if it tends a little wear map a little bit. You can't let Luca go in early because he can take over and single handy beat You make Nny Smith hardaway, Porzingis whoever else. I'll be comfortable stay lose with those guys beating them today.
They were the better team. So to me throw two defenders at Lucas, you gotta throw a third, do whatever you have to do to contain and lock them down. I think that was the key winning the game today. And then obviously Kawai's gotta get his offense going like he did today. I want to see his Sunday when he's in rhythm. Man, he's as good as anybody, but we don't see it as often for some reason. So throw get the offense go and running through him. It's good. But
as Clipper fans man, they're setting us up to lose. I mean, I hope I'm wrong, but if I'm gonna be devastated with the pattern of this series, it's unpredictable. I'm not gonna I want the Clippers to win, but I'm not making any term predictions on who's gonna win because this series is is so wacky. The road game winning every series I hope it's a clip to come out on top and they put a point like it, man, because it's gonna be devastating if they rip our hearts out again on Sunday.
So let's go, Clippers. Get it done. Man, Thanks Anthony, thank you for the phone call. Keep the face, Chris and Lahabra. You're on Clippers stop without a Maslin Before we get the postgame audio from head coach t Lou Chris, what's up, hey, double a A man. I just wanted to start off, man, already thirty minutes or so since the game med, and my heart's still unting, man. But such an amazing game, like you you you touched on the point of Kawaii.
Man, it's unreal over sixty percent. I think he's averaging like thirty two thirty three a game this series. Man, But I gotta I gotta talk about my boy, Reggie. I just said, tweeted you a couple like ten minutes ago after game two, and everything seemed like, you know, it wasn't going in that favor. It was over, YadA, YadA YadA, and I talked about it interning Reggie Jackson because I felt like all season, you know when pat bed went down and we're missing you know, that
point guard. He said into that role and he really bought him. I felt like last year joining our team and in the well, he didn't look like himself, he didn't know his role. But I think he really got he got he bought into his role. This year, he got us some confidence starting. I think that's where we needed to be in the in the
playoffs, and I think that's really the turning point of the series. Like like you know, Game five overshadowed what we did the first two games, and then this game just you know, it's just just showed like like the what type of team we have this year as opposed to last year. You know, in the third quarter we went down. You know, it seems like every time we got back, they punched us in the mouth. And there was a couple of seven point deficits that we're facing where it looked like,
you know, the game was over and they were gonna separate. But we said calm, collective, and resilient, and you know, we just led by the Kawaii and in the second half. And I'll be bold enough to say I might be a little biased, but I think Kawaii is the best player in the series. And people are gonna shake their heads and not agree with me. But when you look at the numbers and fairly similar, you know, if you don't if you take away the assistant rebounds, which
is, you know, a big part of the game. But as far as clutch time and especially the second half and what Luca has done in the fourth quarters of games, the close out games, it hasn't been him. It's been the other guys hitting big shots. And I've seen Tim Hardaway Junior. Man, He's gonna get a big contract this year, and I give him props for keeping him in this game, Chris, but I appreciate,
appreciate the phone call. Man. It's a good point. Luca nags in their three wins in the fourth quarter for the Dallas Mavericks three for twenty from the field. It hasn't been him. It's been the other guys down the stretch that have killed the Clippers. And it looked like it could happen again with Tim Hardaway Junior, first hitting a three pointer at the eight twenty two mark to tie the game and then getting an hand one off an offensive rebound
at about the seventh thirty mark. In the fourth quarter, but Paul George hit a big three pointer in the fourth Kawhi Leonard obviously did work. And then Paul George had a huge block on Tim Hardaway Junior on a long three. And then we got Nicholas Batoum catching the oop from Reggie Jackson from about thirty five feet out, a huge momentum play, a run out. The
Clippers haven't got enough of those. They overcome their shooting woes. They win by seven before we get to the head coach, Did I get a Bill and Irvin yet Zack? Bill and Irvine trying to keep jack here? Bill? What's up? You're on Clippers style without him Awsome? Yeah, thanks for taking my call. That was huge in that one sequence when there was sixty two to sixty and then it became sixty seven sixty and the Clippers kept them in you know, kept them in sight. They the game never really
got away beyond that. Also, isn't it great to have Reggie Jackson on your side after I guess there's only historical things about the Clippers. When Reggie was on OKAC, he had that jump ball, you know, with that high up with Barnes and we know what happened there and the Chris Paul game where he took two charges. But it's great to have Reggie on our side now. Anyway, Bill, thank you for the phone call. Stay Reggie,
Reggie action. Jackson was in it. In thirty eight minutes, had twenty five points, led them in the plus minus category, was a plus thirteen. Speaking of thirteen, PG thirteen led them with thirteen rebounds. And these weren't just Russell Westbrook getting free boards or anything like that. He was in traffic among the trees getting tough boards. He's done that all series.
I commend PG thirteen for the all round game. Here was Coach Loop post game after the Clippers force a Game seven on Sunday by winning in Dallas once again in game six one oh four ninety seven. Tip first of all and guts on the big win. Just what do you what do you make of of Kawai? How do you explain that performance? I know you didn't play up to the standards in game five, but really made up for it and
marked tonight. You know, great players perform, you know in big moments, and he was huge man, you know, taking the challenge, guarding a little of the whole game. I thought our coverage was great. We kept kawhile in a lot throughout the course of this game. We mix it up, we switch it some shows, some blitz, but you know, played forty two minutes and guard their best player, who's a hell of a player for the whole game. That just shows you who Kawhi learn it is.
And you know PG was great. You know, thirteen rebounds played the last thirty six minutes of the game. Our thought Zoo came in a game was great minutes. Betchie Jackson was great, you know, especially in that first quarter. Give us some offense and I'm scoring in that first quarter, Marcus, you know they go we shot one for ten. But defensively he was great, you know, wrestling with bobon blitzing on the pick and rolls which called Luca turn the ball over a little bit. You know, so
like all of you know, he's a total team win. Like I said, Kawai and PGI, you know, really did a great job with the games. Thanks thanks to Mark Medina that Kawai corress with everything or tie, I'm sorry about that, Uh, congrats with everything with Kawai. You mentioned his performance, but what jumped out to about his leadership, like in the huddles and on the sideline, all the just said, you know, just
keep staying with it. You know, they went, they got i think seven points, we had a few times in the third quarter, you know, and just we just stay calm, and Kawai just said, listen, take care of the basketball. We can get any shot we want. And you know we still have a shot in the ball. Well, we're getting great looks, open looks, and we just can't make it right now.
So we're doing for a great game, a great shooting game. But I'll tell you Kawhi PG and the huddles they were fantastic, along with Pat Beverley and Rondo as well. Thanks next to you, own ty. You've been through playoffs, playoff battles with some of the great ones. Uh did you see anything in Kawai's eyes or did you say anything, Squire, he say anything to you going into this game that kind of gave you an inkland that
this was gonna come alis saying something. Yeah, you know, you know, he just he was a disappoint He didn't shoot the ball well in Game five, so you know, we just want him to be aggressive, attacking, you know, on what he does, and like say, at five or nine from three tonight, made some you know, huge ones, especially when they made a run. I mean, made two big threes to kind
of, you know, secure the winning for us. But I'm gonna shoot eighteen for twenty five and a half forty five points and that's pretty outstanding. And did this seem like a Game seven? I mean to tell us watching it, it looked and felt like a Game seven. And if it was, I mean, how do you guys duplicate that now for a real game set? Well, I just think we gotta shoot the ball. Better clean up a couple of our mistakes defensively. That's gonna happen throughout the course of
the game. But you know, we just gotta shoot the ball. We shoot the ball, will then you know we're in great shape. We're in gret shape anyway, but we gotta just have one of those great shooting nights that were used to in the customer too and would be five thanks thanks. Next to Melissa, he tied. Quiet is obviously no stranger to game sevens
and huge games. How much is the team going to be leading on his sort of even killedness and experience heading into this type of the situation a lot, you know, I think with you know him and PG and just being into ling on those guys, specially early on the game. You know that first quarters gonna be huge, and just getting off to a good start at home, and they only know Kawhi a lot, you knowuse he's been through it. He understands what it takes, and so just his poison, his
approach, We're gonna be fine. There was Coach Lou post game after the Clippers win by seven to bring it back to Staples Center for a game seven on Sunday, thanks to Kawhi Leonard and his forty five points. Before we break here, Bob and Woody or Bob, you're on Clippers stop without of Maslin. What's up, Bob? Well, Adam as everyone said, what a hell of a playoff game. And you know what, you don't have
to be a Clipper or a Madlick fan who have enjoyed this game. This was one of the great and an NBA playoff games of the last ten years. Bob, let me say this, you probably enjoy it more if you weren't a fan of either team, because it was that stressful of a game for some people. Oh yeah, I think I had to turn it off
a few times and just turned it back was getting kind of tight. But what I liked about it was it was a Friday night and the lone game that the entire country was watching, and Kawhi Leonard went on a performance reminiscent of Kobe, reminiscent of Michael Jordan, of all the greats that have done
this. And I think it's good for the Clippers because they're still kind of in the shadow of the Lakers, even nationally, and now that the Lakers are gone, it's good that they A lot of people expected them to lose this game. A lot of people expected here, same old Clippers. When they have a chance to stand up and be a little bit better than the Lakers, they don't. But this time they did. I do expect them to win on Sunday. And yeah, it's just a real, real,
real good playoff game for everybody to enjoy. Finally, some positivity from Bob. Bob, thank you for the phone call. Become a regular here on Clippers talk like your points, like your voice. There, We're gonna take a quick break, we'll come back. We'll get some more of your phone calls eight seven seven five to zero eleven fifty eight seven seven, five to zero, eleven fifty and Law Murray from the Athlete will join me next.
Clippers win by seven to force a game seven back at Staples Center Sunday afternoon. More about that coming up as well. You're listening to Clippers Doc, I'm out of Maslindon. This is the Patriot Am eleven fifty. The quest for the Larry O'Brien is off for them to get to the Promised Land for the first time in franchise history. You're listening to La Clippers playoff basketball on their exclusive hold one. Leonard with a clear out. What will he do
here? Steps it back straight away, Leonard cross over twenty footer on the way. It's good. Kawhi Leonard clutch bucket for the claw. He's got thirty nine and the Clipper leader is ninety two eighty eight, two fifty remaining. Kawai and the clutch and the playoffs. We've seen this before, but this was his best game as a Clipper in their time of need. Kawhi
Leonard dropped a forty five spot in Dallas. The Clippers force a Game seven back at Staples Center on Sunday after winning one O four to ninety seven over the Mavericks here in Game six. I promise we'll get to your phone calls here on Clippers, Doc Morris, Gabriel, Rex, Mitch. We'll get to you, but first I want to get to my friend Law Murray of the Athletic, who helps me get prepped before each in every Clippers game with his great writings, his great columns on the Athletic. Follow him at law
Murray, the Nu Law. I know it wasn't his best performance in the playoffs because he has such a high standard for himself, but this was his best performance as a Clipper, and Kawhi Leonard what he did tonight. No, are you sure that wasn't his best playoff game ever? Well, there was a Game seven against the Philadelphia seventy six ers with a shot that dropped in to wointed. I don't that's tough to top. Listen, I'm not saying that this was his most important game. I'm not saying it's his best
moments. But in terms of peak Kawai abilities both ends of the floor, complete game, I think this has to be considered. This is arguably is that there's a debate, and you know, I'll write about it and hopefully people him in on that. Hopefully this is relevant literally forty eight hours from now, not even you can probably say forty five hours from now. Like
the turnaround the game seven is quick. But Kawai and what he did to get it to that point, and it was it was buckets and it was it was just being consistently good on defense in the way that Kawaii honestly hasn't really been since leaving San Antonio. He was, he was just fascinating, breathtaking today in Game six and downs with the team facing elimination, Kawhi finishes with forty five points. The Clippers win one O four ninety seven in Game
six to force a Game seven on Sunday back of Staples Center. Law Murray is our guest here from the Athletic pulset game Luca Donchers. I think this was the first time in this series he finished as a minus maybe Game four as well, but he was a minus eight out there, Law, because you're a smart, heavy guy. What adjustments are left to be made, if any, in this series or is it just a battle of wills at this point? Come Game seven. Game seven is weird. Game seven's are
weird. It is absolutely a battle of wills at this point. Actually, I was hardened to see that there was still a personnel adjustment for the Clippers and that Lucas Nod. I'm laughing because Luca Dart has been arguably the most polarizing player on the team this season, and he didn't make it three. But it was it was great to see Ty say, you know what, let me get another guy in there. And the bench was so it was it was so dormant, and you just have to think, man, someone's
got to make a three. Someone's gotta step up when they weren't expected. And it can't be Reggie Jackson. It can't be Reggie Jackson. So besides that, I mean, look, it's on Dallas. They get the opportunity to respond. That's the advantage of taking a three t series league. If you lose that Game six, even if it's at home, hey, it's on you to basically say, all right, we're not going to let something that you know prevented the team from closing things out happen again. Kawhi.
It's gonna be tough to ask Kawhi to do what he did tonight. It's going to be tough to expect Paul George to have all of a sudden a great game after playing the entire second half, really the entire last three quarters tonight, and Reggie was he played over his head. Every other Clipper has another level that they can get to and need to get to help those other
three guys out. And I'm fast seamed to see if it comes through, because if they haven't shot well, they haven't shot to the standard that they set during the regular season really at any point in this series so quickly here law have they figured anything out defensively because in their last three games now against the Dallas Mavericks, they've held them to just ninety five points per game.
What has changed for this Clippers team on the defensive end. It's just a matter of don't give Luca Duncich everything, and by everything, I mean assists possessions where they don't end in turnovers, the three pointer. You can't let Luca get everything. Luca created twenty two of the thirty seven field goals of Dallas made tonight. Now that's a far cry from the thirty one out of
thirty seven number from Game five. But here is what was key. The Dallas Madvers, even though they shot better than the Clippers did from three, Luca wasn't really a big part of that at all. Luca on we made two out of his nine three pointers. One of them was in garbage time, the other was a catch and shoot three. A rare site came in
the fourth quarter. A fourth quarter is that the Clippers pulled out one of their biggest fourth quarters in a long long time, an eleven point differential overall and a fourteen point turn around when you consider the fact that the Clippers took a ten point lead with a minute about a minute left in the game. So when it comes to Luca, it's about tiring him, giving him a lot of bodies. If he wants to do all the heavy lifting it's got,
there's got to be a tax, and there's two taxes. Number one, will Luca had his legs to do what he does as a score in the fourth quarter, and then number two shut everybody else's water off. And outside of Tim Hardaway Junior, who it looked like Tim Marty Junior wore down in the fourth quarter. Outside of Whinnie Smith's threes that he hit in the third quarter. That one was pretty much at Boban. It took him thirteen
shots to get twelve, which that's hard to do when you're seven. Five good Clippers have done an outstanding job of making sure that Luca is going to be the only guy and that he's relatively inefficient while doing Law. I love you, hope to see you at Staples Center on Sunday again. Get to Law Murray at Law Murray, then you. He took over for Jovon Bouhak covering the Clippers for the athletic this season. He's been unbelievable. Law, we'll talk to you Sunday. We'll see at Staple Center, my friend.
All right, path on everybody before we break here, before we get out, let's get to Rex in La Rex quickly. You got twenty seconds? Oh yes, I just have nothing but praise for the Clippers that they will do well on Game seven. They will win it. That choir Leonard has been doing great. The bench has been doing great. Paul George PG. Thirteen his performance. I hear you, Rex, call me back on Sunday. Jose in Southgate, Jose twenty seconds, twenty seconds, Adam twenty seconds.
This is all I need is because all needed to hear Paul George said, we need to terry Kwai Landard finally eager to push to us to the side. We have our clutch, and after that he says, they know we don't do We don't do it in early games. So that's already in nor mentality. Baby Clippers, thank you, Jose Gabriel and Santa Fe Springs. Gabriel yarn Clippers talk. He got twenty seconds, Adam, I want to shout out, Muke Morris. It took me off the air last time.
I felt because I was killing him that guy against that John with Dylan. He took him down. And we're playing a game six and we'll see you for bunch on Sunday, Adam, see you Sunday, Gabriel, We'll be there. I'm going my guy come, come for a vaccine fifth bumps before we get out of here. To close things out tonight, Morris in Long Beach, we started with negativity from Jeff and Tarzana. It's only appropriate we stopped this show or we end this show with Morris and long Beach,
who normally starts things off. Morris, give it to me, my brother. I'm so glad that we've returned in normality. Now, Kawhi Leonard, let's not forget the brother is all pro. You know, forty five, what's gonna be shot by that. I'm gonna glad to Reggie Jack and showed up today and played the role of a point guard. And I'm gonna tell you what you're gonna see on Sunday. The Clippers are gonna shoot the lights out on Sunday. Kawhi won't have to score forty point because the Clippers are
not going to go to champ of City's from the three. And if the Clippers beat these guys in the first quarter, it's over. Okay, it's over. So and another thing, I was appressed that Paul George was on the board and they figured out how to handle up the donkeys with five guys on him and two guys on the bench, and you got it. Morris, thank you for the phone call from your lifts the basketball God's ears. I love the basketball God. Today was Kawhi Leonard, who finished with forty
five. Clippers win by seven to force a game seven on Sunday. Before we get out of here, I do want to thank the Clipper's organization. Noah Eagle, Brian Steman, Ralph Lawler. We'll see you, Jake warnerback at sap'll Center on Sunday. Big thanks to Zach l Caldy as well. Until Sunday at eleven thirty am four Game seven, I'm at A Miles
