Parents man is pure once again. He's Clippers Talk. I got calls on Clippers Talk, a mediate reaction and analysis to today's game. That's what he's capable of. Hosted by your pre and post game voice of the La Clippers, Adam Ausla kind of wizard. Three is this as the Clippers and the game on an eleven oh run and they win one fifteen to one on nine over the Washington Wizards for the fourteenth straight time here in La over Washington.
Welcome in the Clippers stock. I'm Adam Aslin eight six sixty nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy as We're alive from Crypto dot Com arena. Coming up, we'll get to your phone calls. We got post game audio as well from coach Lou and the players after this one. But what a performance, a bounce back performance by the Clippers as a team and by a couple individ jewels in this one. Reggie Jackson,
oh Home, my player to watch, had thirty one. He was six for his last thirty two the last two games out and he goes twelve of twenty one, five of nine from distance, had eleven of his thirty one points in the fourth quarter, had eight of them in the third quarter. Hit big shot after big shot. But speaking of it was Nick Batoum Saint Nick who came through late on the right wing after an extra pass from Terrence Man. And that was the name of the game tonight. The Clippers
continuously made the extra pass, turned down good shots for great shots. They only had twenty one assists, so they probably missed some other open shots in this one as well. But I mean sixteen to thirty two from the outside, and that's because so many of them were wide open. Luke Kennard shooting from the outside, it's a layup when there's nobody on him. He went four of seven, and the end of that third quarter everything changed there.
Clippers were down by ten, look to be going down double digits heading into the fourth and Terrence Man entered the game and brought that spark. Was going coast to coast getting downhill, had a nice reverse layup off a pass from Isaiah Hartenstein. I want to say the Bigs were great in the short role with their passes out to shooters and cutters. Hartenstein and two bus tonight.
But Terrence Man found Luke Kennard for one of those two three pointers he hit at the end of the third quarter, and it just looked like they were going good Luke hunting out there. They were trying to make sure to cut
into that lead, and it was through the ball movement. That's what we've talked about a ton when you don't have your superstars, your great isol players, and they still have some guys that can do that, and Marcus Morris and Retchie Jackson, of course they showed that off in the fourth quarter, but without Kauai, Norman Powell, Paul George, you got to create open looks through ball movement, and they were on point in that area tonight.
It was hot potato around the perimeter. It was drive kick swing, back to basics, back to what the Clippers do best. It's when they're at their best, when they're wreaking havoc in the paint getting in there. It starts there, touched the paint, then spray it out. That's what coach Low always says. And Marcus Morris had eighteen points in the first half. Clippers still only led by two though at the break, because defensively they weren't
good enough. This is a crazy stat. I don't know if I've ever seen this before, but the Washington Wizards, I want to say, with a couple of minutes, you know, maybe ten minutes left in the second quarter, so very early in the contest, they already had fifteen fast break points. The Clippers, their transition defense was poor, to say the least.
They were turning the ball over. They eventually fixed that, but they had seven turnovers in the second quarter alone, and even though they were playing well offensively, defensively, those live ball turnovers giving teams easy looks and not getting back on defense. When you make it that easy for them, of course it's going to be a close game, and it was throughout, and in fact, the Clippers were down by five with two and a half minutes
left, but they ended the game on an eleven oh run. Just underscores how clutch this team has been all season, and they're doing it where Paul George has only played in twenty six games where they haven't had Kawhi Leonard at all, they only had Norman Powell for three and their top five in the
league. When it comes to clutch rating, last five minutes of a game within five points, the Clippers play their best when their best is required, and defensively, even though for forty five and a half minutes of this one they weren't great there. They weren't great on the boards either. They gave up three offensive rebounds on the fourth quarter, and I want to say all
three of them were converted into three pointers by the Washington Wizards. But when it mattered most the Clippers were able to clamp down clamp City style, to buckle down defensively, grab keyboards late as Reggie Jackson did, went to the
free throw line. Reggie Reggie extended the lead to four. But it's just good to see time and time again, even on a two game skid where they played some of the worst basketball of the season offensively, shooting just thirty six percent the last two games against the Warriors against the New York Knicks. But tonight the Clippers responded when they had to late, when their backs were against the wall. This is what they do, This is their identity.
These are the resilient Clippers that fine ways to win ball games don't matter who is available. But Reggie Jackson made himself available in a big way. Those thirty one points, the timing of them, the step back tough three pointers that he hit momentum shots when it looked like Washington and Chris Dafsporzingis, who looks very comfortable with his new team. He had himself a game once again, just his second game as a Wizard, nineteen points in twenty five minutes.
But the Clippers answered those runs late at least, and they stayed close enough. And as the old saying goes, if we're even, they're leaving. It was like that, if the Clippers get you in a close game late, they're likely going to figure out a way to beat you, and they did so tonight for the fourteenth straight time here in Los Angeles against the Washington Wizards. The last time they lost to the Wizards here in this building
was two thousand and eight. Some of the Clippers players on that team, Kat Mobley, Corey mcgetty, Al Thornton and Chris came in, Sam Cassell, Tim Thomas, rev And Knight, Quentin Ross, Aaron Williams, Dan dick Al. It has been that long since Washington has beat them in this building. And they were also close, and you know they wanted it bad. After the Clippers came back down thirty five second biggest comeback in the history
of the sport just about a month and a half ago in DC. But the Clippers and Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris, they just refused to lose late in this one and again when they had to play their best, when their best was required, they did so Clippers win one, fifteen to one on nine. Now they head out on the road for their next three, starting in Atlanta against Trey Young and the Hawks on Friday. Let's go to and Zoe and Burbank And so you're on Clippers stock without a miles and starting things
off tonight? What's up? Hey, man? How's it doing? This was a good win, But this was a scrap you win? I thought I were missing Robert Cummins in a lot tonight last three excuse me, last couple of games. Now they have missed him. Yeah, and I think they should experience on Rodney Hood in the rotation over coffee. Well a mirror
coffee has had himself a year. He has proven to be one of the more valuable guys on this team, Enzoe because even when he has an off shooting night, he goes two for eight, one for five from downtown and he got the start in this one once again for the first time, and I want to say the last eleven games he still makes an impact. He's one of those guys that does a little bit of everything. You talk about. A scrappy win, a mirror coffee is a scrappy player. Yeah,
all right, Enzo, I appreciate the phone call. Clippers win one fifteen to one on nine over the Wizards, taking you till eleven o'clock live from Crypto dot com arena here on Clippers Talk. We'll take a quick time out eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy. Clippers fin is strong with an eleven oh run as they hold the Wizard's scoreless the final two minutes thirty six seconds of this one.
After all defense it was optional times. Oh yeah, and by the way, Clibernation, you might think this is poetic justice, but after the Clippers attempted just three free throws the first three quarters attempt at ten and the fourth. I was also a big factor. Roche Jackson hidden some clutch ones down the stretch. Clippers win by six. More Clippers stock next year on a M five sevent Yellow Sports women, Tomahawks, you're listening to Los Angeles Clippers
basketball. He goes all the way to the ram but sky scraping jam. This is the official home of your LA Clippers. Yeah, boys, Clippers win one fifteen to one on nine over the Washington Wizards here at Crypto dot Com arena. It was his Clippers Talk. I've had a moslin. The Clippers stepped up and came through late, finished on an eleven oh run after they trailed by five with about two and a half minutes left. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six sixty nine eight seven two five
seventy or get to meet at follow Adam a still to come. We'll hear from Reggie Jackson. But let's get to tay Just and Walnut days here on Clippers Talk. What's up, hey, Adam? Uh? Seems like well, the Clipper comebacks are always ignited by esecutive threes by Kennard. Those Luke Canard three pointer at the end of the third quarter, and even though once he hit in the first half, Yeah, and he hit one more in
the fourth quarter. I do think when Luke Kennard's hitting shots like that, when Nick but Tom is hitting shots like that, it's an indicator to sign that the ball movement there tonight, right. And I know there wasn't a lot of great defense, but I thought two sequences stood out to me. One was towards the end, I think in the final minute, but toomb he deflected the past which led to Pope's airball three. And on that and then on the same possession the next possession he hit that three. I think
that possession was huge. And second, defensively, when they were up to with like twenty seconds, I was thinking at the time, I hope they don't double Porzingius and he thought the ball in the post, like, okay, don't don't double, don't double. They don't want to give up a three. And to their credit, they they didn't double and made him take a I don't know if it was coffee, but he took a tough turnaround. And I just thought, you know, they stayed disciplined and that was
actually really be a big moment in the game by not double teaming. I thought it's a good point to age because I want to say, of the first I know, they hit six threes in the fourth quarter alone the Washington Wizards after only hitting four three pointers in the first three quarters, but I want to say four of those six were wide open three pointers that they hit in that fourth quarter. It was just poor defense by the Clippers, but
they clamped down late. They found a way, and Nick Batum, you knew, if you're gonna win a game like this close, he's gonna have his fingerprints all over it. And it wasn't just the three pointer, as you mentioned that he hit late, the dagger shot, but the defense he played late to and the rebounding and the Clippers late became much better when that ball went out of bounds and it didn't hit the ram and they reviewed it
and they confirmed it didn't. But I took note of the fact that the Clippers actually boxed out really well on that play because they hadn't been throughout most of the night. Let's go to Morris in Long Beach. Morris, what's up? You're on Clippers stock? He a, am I tripput or? Did I see the lone Ranger and Tonto sitting on the bench? And if that, uh, if that's true, what do they backed with the team doing the warm ups? You know, are they back doing the warmp or
the pregame warm ups. You know, before they get out of the clip. Are you talking about Kawhi Leonard and Paul George Tonto. That's right, that's what I'm talking about. Am I tripputed to him. Am I seeing them on the bench. They're on the bench, but they've been on the bench everywhere the Clippers have gone lately. Kawhi Leonards has been traveling with this team. He was with him in Houston, he was with him in San Francisco. There you go. Now they're doing the pregame warm up. I
didn't see him tonight, obviously. That footage came out of Kawhi Leonard doing an individual workout yesterday in Golden State in front of the media for the first time for over an hour. It sounded like, well, we're looking good at and we get him back the last eight games. They're gonna be on a minute restriction for five Okay. I don't see that. The Clippers thrown this year away. These guys ain't got to come back for eighty two plus
sixteen. They just got to come back for the second half of the series season. I see him coming back, man, I'm feeling it in my bones at him. They're coming back. I'll talk to you next time, all right, Morris, I hope you're right. As much as we have harped on the defense tonight, or the lack there of, until the final couple of minutes for the Clippers, I thought Isaiah Hartenstein was physical. He
had three blocks. They credited him for three. I want to say he had five, but he definitely had three in the fourth quarter, and one was emphatic, a volleyball spike, as Noah Egle put it, and it led to a runout for a crazy reverse layup from Reggie Jackson. Zah Hardenstein played tough defense. I thought Terrence Man as well was battling getting on the boards, and I talked about how he ignited that run at the end of the third quarter. But he made plays on the fourth quarter as well.
Finished with nine rebounds, just nine points, but he was a plus eighteen in a game they win by six, led them in the plus minus category. We'll take a quick time out. We'll come back. You'll hear from Reggie Jackson. We'll get to more of your phone calls. Eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy Clippers bounce back after two of their toughest performances shooting wise from the field.
Tonight they hit fifty percent of their shots from the field and from three when sixteen to thirty two from the outside. It helps when Reggie Jackson goes five and nine and Luke Nard goes four of seven. But Marcus Moore's again eighteen points in the first half was carrying them. Just needed nine more. Hit a tough turnaround near the free throw line in the fourth quarter, one of those ISO shots, but ten of fifteen for him after he had been struggling
too. He and Reggie Jackson we talked about it with Noah Eagle in the pre game. As those guys go, so do the Clippers right now. They're there, two best tough shot makers they have on the team currently without their superstars, and they found a way to get it done tonight. More Clippers stock. Next you're running up five to seventy l A sports he gotta get for me every time of a lot of snot things couldn't be an ever. Read the line one. This is La Clippers basketball quarter three for the
time he got it. This is the official home of your LA Clippers in the clubs representative Clippers went one fifteen and one on nine over the Washington Wizards.
Here from Crypto dot Com arena and listening to the Clippers talk, I've had a Moslem eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy someone else who had a bounce back performance and also had an emphatic block ofvizsa zubots after going oh six against Golden State yesterday, finishes with ten and nine in that block as I mentioned, and had
six of those points in the first quarter. He Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris came out like they knew they had to redeem themselves over the last couple of games, and they did and then some but the Clippers going on an eleven oh run to finish this one off. Another impressive performance down the stretch in crunch time from the Los Angeles Clippers, who are doing it without their two superstars again. Eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy. Let's go
to Sean in Inglewood. Sean, what's up? Yeah? We lost, Sean Sean call back. I just gave out the damn number eight six, six, nine, eight, seven two five seventy. You know what, though, I want to hear from Reggie Jackson post game as he went for nine thousand points in his career tonight on PP and J nine where he was hooking up Clippers fans with a snack, and here he was post games speaking. I want to say it was Jimmie Majio on Valley Sports with Reggie Jackson.
Guys, thank you so much so Reggie, I mean, you earned this dance right now. You guys close out the third quarter on a nice run. You close out the game also on an eleven old run. But you knew that the Wizards were gonna come in here and try and get back into you guys for the way that you beat them on their home court. How did you guys close this out so strong? Ah, That's what we
talked about. We knew after the way end at that second unit, the way they came back, they competed in Washington, got a historical win. We knew that they're gonna come out and fight. That's a good team over there. They came and brought us at the end. But we stayed resilient. We just kept all cool, you know. We played through frustrations. I'm missing a few shots, but we just kept playing and sticking together and finding a way to get some stops and then finally show up with defensive rebounds.
Rig You were doing your thing out there tonight as well, thirty one points seven assists. You were five of nine from three point range in this game. You hit nine thousand career points in your in your career, but I think you saved the best part for the very end. Getting to the free throw line for the peanut butter and jelly snacks. Was that by design? I wish it was. I wish I'd got there a few more times. I was talking to my teammates earlier about how I need to get to
the line, so I gotta be better attacking. How I want to feed the fans want to I want to get the things back to all the love that they give myself and my teammates. I'm appreciate this organization. Like I said, I'm appreciate all the fans, and I'll make sure you gets on the line a few more times next year. This is also now fourteen straight wins against the Wizards for the Clippers at home, which is now the longest
streak against any opponent in Clippers franchise history. We know this is an Eastern Conference opponent, but this time of year, how important is each in every single win? My fault? What's the street? But fourteenth straight at home against the Wizards. Oh, that's great, that's great. My fault. I was thinking about it going over there, messing with Paul, giving Mama Georgia hug giving Papa George some deaths. So I'm my mind's over here.
But it's good. It's good taking care of home court. Like I said, it's a great team. It's been a battle throughout the years. What's that fourteen? Fourteen years and running win in here. So it's something we're gonna try to keep going next year. But we just want to protect this home court and do it for our fans. Let's say hi to the fam.
Definitely will all right, guys, back to you. As we've seen recently with these Clippers runs, as they go on an eleven zero run to finish off the Wizards in a close contest, it was Clipper Nations stepping up and helping fuel that here in downtown Los Angeles. There's no doubt about it. Reggie Jackson he's become an all time band favorite in just his third year with the team, really just two and a half years so far as a Clipper, but he's made a huge impact, just like he did tonight with
those thirty one points, eleven of them in the fourth quarter. Clippers come back down five with two and a half left as they clamp down and don't
give up a point in the final two minutes and twenty six seconds. Coming up next, we'll hear from coach Lou here on Clippers Stock eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy as well, if you'd like to get on eight six sixty nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number, and we'll talk about this upcoming three game road trips starting in Atlanta on Friday. Wizards. Welcome back into Clippers stock. I'm out of Auslin. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number one of the other keys. Late in that fourth quarter, the Clippers forced five turnovers on the Wizards in the final twelve minutes, where they only had an eight entering the quarter, speaks to the level of defense the Clippers eventually played in the last bit of the game. In
fact, there was a big turnover by Christap sport zingis. Some of that is just familiarity, second game as a Washington Wizard. But Clippers just good enough when they had to be late to get another clutch time victory and another victory over the Washington Wizards, fourteenth straight here in this building. Going back to two thousand and eight. All right, we heard from Reggie Jackson earlier. He finished with thirty one, Marcus Morris had twenty seven. Let's hear
from your head coach Toron Loup post game speaking with the media. Now, Washington played great, you know, tonight just you know, in transition. You know, we couldn't keep up with their speed in that first half and they made some shots and like I said, with with Porzingis at the five, just you know, it's a it's a tough matchup, you know, for us, for any big that you know, you got a seven, two guys who could shoot threes from you know, four or five feet behind
the line. So it's a tough matchups. It puts you in a scramble. But you know, we got down ten, you know, I think late in that third quarter, but just our defensive stops. Luke came in and made it, you know, some some huge threes and then like I said, the huge street that Niko made was was big as well. So it's a total team effort. Man. We needed this win because of the last you know, two games, but it was a it was a good win for us, right what what kind of advantages is to have su back
and Isaiah trading minutes at center. It's been good for us all year long, and those two together, I teach him a lot of time, I give him a lot I give him hard time, but they've been good for us all year. You know, they've been great for us actually, and so just like tonight, I thought isaiah verticality at the rim was was huge, you know when team when they got downhill and he was big at the rim. Zu missed a couple you know lay after he which he can get
back around the rim. But I thought it was great, you know, and so to half the guard you know for zingis you know, a stretch five who can pick and pop and roll and mixes it up. They did a good job. And like I said, Isaiah, it was part of that huge coming back that we had and we needed his gage on the floor so tired. What happened to getting Reggie some rest tonight? And how did you think he performed after he give him some rest tonight and tomorrow wet him
some rest tomorrow. Man. Yeah, he just you know, I try to get him out of a couple of times. He said he felt good, you know, he said he felt good. And I didn't really see him get too tired, you know. And so but he was playing a great game. You know, I thought he really controlled the game, you know, the whole night, you know, scoring thirty one points, but really you know, taking over and dominating down the stretch like he's always done
for us down the stretch. And then Marcus is huge for us as well, especially in that first half. Get some rest tomorrow tights. When asked about Marcus and just like obviously, yeah, I mean he got us off to a great start. You know, I think you're getting some touches early, be it to establish his post presence early was huge for him, and then it kind of opened up his three point shot. But you know, having eighteen in that first half, you know, was really was really good
for us, and he had more pop tonight. You know, he got into a better rhythm offensively, and so you know when I think, like I said, when Reggie and Marcus play well, we usually can win some games. But when they don't play well, it's tough for us to win. So they came out and definitely said the tone for us tonight and were
happy with Luke Letting. He passed up some shots, but yeah, he well, Luke, he did a good job, especially if we got down ten, you know, making two huge three to cut that lead, and just his movement, the way he played and I'm staying about turning down some shots, but he was he was He was good for us. Tonight. I don't know what it is, but I don't like to keep getting behind
us, so he's been doing when we're up. We need that. Something I noticed with Luke Kennard tonight, and I love that relationship he and coach lou have or Luke is open to the criticism whenever he turns down shots because he's too good of a shooter. No one's shooting better from the outside. This season, he is making the case that he is the best shooter in the game, spot up, role player type shooter. Obviously Steph Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, but in the ilk of the Joe Harris
is of the league, the buddy heels Heelds, it's Luke Kennard. He's shooting forty five percent from three, and they don't win this game without those two three pointers to turn things around at the end of the third quarter heading into the fourth. But one of the things I liked from him is it wasn't just the three point shot. He hit three two pointers and was just more decisive. Was making quick decisions out there, and the Clippers were as
a team. They were playing with more purpose, they knew where they were going with the basketball. Sure, they had some turnovers they'd like back, but overall, the ball movement was a beautiful thing to night for the Los Angeles Clippers, and that led to this victory. That was the biggest difference, creating more open looks than they had the last couple of nights, including
just yesterday against the Golden State Warriors. But when Luke Kennard is going like this with nineteen points off the bench, four of seven from the outside, it makes them that much tougher because if you leave him open, as I
said earlier, it's just a layup. It's too easy. And then when he has that gravity, when he gets that attention, when teams load up against him, and the ball movement there like it was tonight, the Clippers find whoever else is open, and they did so, and no play better than that shot from Nicholas batoum off the extra pass from Terrence Man with thirty seconds left, who had a good look himself. Passing up good looks for
great looks. We saw plenty of that tonight from the Clippers, leading to them shooting sixteen of thirty two from the outside, and their last three victories, I would say they haven't been perfect against the Lakers, against Houston tonight against the Wizards. But they've been good enough when it matters most and they're gonna need that that part of their DNA as they go out on the road now against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. Tip time for that once at four
thirty. We got Clippers countdown for you. Starting at three thirty. They're taking on Tree Young and an Atlanta Hawks team has been playing better since the Clippers last saw them, but a three game road trip in Atlanta, in Detroit on Sunday, and then in Cleveland the upstart Cleveland Cavaliers Monday. That will be their final back to back that Sunday Monday in Detroit in Cleveland of the season, as the Clippers have just fourteen games left after they get the
victory tonight one fifteen to one on nine over the Washington Wizards.
