Parents, madness pure once again, he's Clippers Talk. I got calls on Clippers Talk, immediate reaction and analysis to today's game. That's what he's capable of, hosted by your pre and post game boys of the LA Clippers. Adam Osler, this is Houston Bay again. Please Houston, we'd have a problem. Yeah, the Clippers, I have a whole I mean as Zubots and they win one thirteen to one hundred in Houston over the Rockets. Welcome into Clippers stock. I'm out of Moslin. Eight six six nine eight seven
two five seventy. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number if you'd like to get on or get to meet. Follow Adam a on Twitter. Coming up, you're gonna hear from a Visa Zubots and coach Loop post game. But the Clippers once again pulling away in that second half where they were down by one, down by four, I want to say on Sunday in Houston at the half, and they had one of their most dominating third quarters once again, and it was a lot of Big Zoo
who had ten of its twenty two points in that third quarter. Clippers outscored the Houston Rockets by fifteen points, put up a forty spot to twenty five in the third and the fourth or the depth of this team just shows. As the Clippers have so many guys, they come in waves and somebody different ways to beat you. Roco Robert Covington, he was only credited with four blocks. I want to say he had at least three of them in the fourth quarter plus a steal, but a swipe and score and getting out in
transition he in a mere coffee. Both did most of their damage in the final period. As the Clippers, I want to say, led by as many as twenty one, I'll get that for you, but they win by thirteen and it really wasn't even that close as they just figure some things out as the game goes along. Down one at the half in Houston, you thought this could be one of the worst losses of the season, which just I would say eighteen games left after tonight, every game's critical, pivotal.
You heard from coach Lue pregame. They're trying to get that six spot in the West. The goal is to get out of the play in tournament. Where after somehow in Minnesota, Timberwolve still playing very good basketball. They won big over the Golden State Warriors one twenty nine to one fourteen tonight, So the Clippers still remain a game and a half back of them for that seventh spot, which we at least get to home court in the first round or
the first play in game should it come to that. But the goal is still to get to the sixth spot and get into a series, not just a play in tournament. And the Clippers winning six of their last seven, it looks like they've turned a corner and figured something out, even without Kawai, without Norman Powell, who was here for just three games before he unfortunately got hurt, without Paul George, who's played just twenty six games this season.
But the Clippers of one four in a row, as I mentioned, six of seven, and it's the way they're winning these games, getting back to basics drive kick swing. They're hitting three pointers at a much higher rate than they have all season long. In fact, I want to say over the last two weeks they once again led the league in three point shooting. In this one, they go thirteen of thirty one from the outside forty two
percent. But it was that third quarter where they got ridiculously hot seven of nine shooting from three there and Houston, while they still put up almost forty three pointers, they take a lot at thirty nine. They didn't make seventeen this time out like they did on Sunday, just thirteen of them. They shot thirty three percent from the outside, and the Clippers defense holding a team to one hundred in this day and age, and the Clippers have had a
top three defense during this winning streak, it says something. And for them to turn things around in that third quarter and have a Golden State like surge when you need one to pull away from a Houston Rockets team, Otherwise it could turn into a dog fight like we saw on Sunday where the Clippers just squeaked out that victory thanks to Aviatsa. Zoo bots on that one with his
six blocks and his sixth block against Christian Wood, game saving block. But in this one, more offense from Zoo twenty two points again, ten of those in the third quarter still had a block, redirected some shots. The verticality was there from him. I thought Isaiah Hartenstein was very good in that area as well. The backup center six points in twenty two minutes, but Roco having four blocks in twenty two minutes himself three of six shooting, and
just Noah Eagle brought it up pre game. But we've talked about the comparison to Nick Batoum, But what about Pat bev with a motor that Robert Covington has been playing with. And even though he hasn't gotten more than I want to say, twenty five minutes in a game him so far as the Clipper,
they have all been impactful. When he's out there. It looks like he's controlling things on the defensive end, directing traffic a little bit, but helping the Clippers play five guys on a string, and their defense has only been better recently while their offense is starting to catch up. And a lot
of that is the three point shooting. A lot of that is because they're attacking more and getting into the lane where they had fifty two points in the paint in this one, where the average I wanted to say, just forty four points in the paint on the season, that's bottom three in the league. That had to change. The three point shooting would come with it as kind of a byproduct of attacking and putting more pressure on the rim and then
it leads to easier shots along the outside. Twenty four assists on their forty two makes the Clippers had in this one. And I know it's the Houston Rockets, but look at who's out for the Clippers and just the way they continue to play team basketball. Anyways, it's impressive, and Noah brought this
up post game as well. Coach Lewis talked about it. It's one thing to have a little bit of that ewing theory where you overcome not having your best player for a little bit of time a week or two a month. Clippers haven't had Kawhi Leonard all year, they haven't had Paul George basically since the start. At twenty twenty two. They had Norman Powell for three games where he played really well, and you can make the argument they're missing their
three best players. The Norman Powell new Clipper that type of talent. You can argue with Nick Batoum with the way he plays and the character he has out there, and he gets everybody in line with his leadership Regie Jackson at times because you just need his scoring. But for them to be really finding themselves without their superstars and learning how to play together, and guys really sinking
into their rules now and thriving. It's something to behold. The Clippers, I want to say they're peaking, but they're playing much better basketball, indicative by the fact that they're two games above five hundred now at thirty three and thirty one, still fifteen and eighteen on the road, but coming back home to take on the Lakers once again, a fourth meeting of the season.
Obviously, the Clippers won the first three. Before we break here, Javier Lahabra heights, Javier, you're on Clippers stock without Amslin, what's up? It's up at him and Zuba played a great third quarter. For a minute there, I thought I was looking at a Chemolaize one. I mean, he was all over of the place. If you squint just a little bit, is that a Chemolish one over there? Is that Nicola Yokus over there?
And in that third quarter he had a tip in where he was just right place, right time, far below the basket, and you got it up and in. I'm not even sure if that was the plan, but somehow he guided it in. But the putback dunk. Just doing a little bit of everything, but is playing to his size, and he was my player to watch because I wanted to see how he backed up his last game
after not playing to his abilities against the Lakers Friday night. He played amazingly in Houston against a team that likes to go small, against a team he can take advantage of. Coach who actually challenged him going into Sunday's game, saying, you should have twenty and fifteen in that one. I had fourteen
and fifteen, but in this one twenty two and twelve. So he has been like a dominant big man should He's looked like how you should look against a team that goes small, a team that you have a chance to punish on the interior. And that's what Big Zoo has been doing. Yeah no, and then he got feel like this on Thursday against Dwight Howard. You know what happened last game, so hopefully help you know, keep playing the
way he played today against Dwight Howard another team. Real quick to Adam Lucernard, I know he's getting quiet the last with two games, but you know he always does good against the Lakers, so I can't wait to see that. And the last thing, Adam, I'm gonna go to the game on Thursday. That's one of my games because almost doesn't take it older lakerlip differ Nation. You gotta be loud. You've gotta be loud. You've gotta beat the Fakers and sweep them. You've gotta be loud. I said, I
don't think you'll go all right, Javier, I appreciate it. I will be there as well Thursday night, final meeting between the two teams and the regular season this year. It's always a big game because both teams cannot afford to slip up right now, desperate ball clubs. Obviously the Clippers have been playing better than the Lakers, but the Lakers are gonna come out and try
to re establish themselves. And Lebron James, I believe he was only six of twenty one from the field Friday night against the Clippers, who I told you guys this post game. Nobody guards Lebron better than the Clippers. Now I look back the last three seasons, in seven games he was shooting I believe thirty seven percent from the field against the Clippers in those seven games, twenty percent from three. Lebron James someone who's as efficient as anyone. So
another battle for Los Angeles Thursday night should be a good one. Clippers win one thirteen to one hundred over the Houston Rockets. Tonight more Clippers stuck. You're on the M five seventy l A Sports. Next, you're listening to Los Angeles Clippers basketball. He goes all the way to the ram A sky scraping jams. This is the official home of your LA Clippers. I wish I was like six foot nine so I can give with Leo. She don't know me, but YO, she's gonna be fine. You know, I
see you all the time everybody I go. When you've been in my dreams, I canna scheme away to make her mind because I know she's been install and he clips ball. So I'm gonna compete with that. Because Clippers win one thirteen. It's the one hundred over the Houston Rockets in Houston. Katie with dable Tunes here, Avid Skier Clippers taken on the Lakers Thursday back in Los Angeles. Welcome back in the Clippers stock. I'm at a maslin to
eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy. Coming up this very segment, you'll hear from coach Lou But while we have a moment. Let's pause ten seconds for station identification here on Los Angeles Clippers Radio Networking seventy others barms, this is LA Clippers Basketball AM five seventy KLAC Los Angeles, ninety eight seven KYSR HD to Los Angeles and iHeart radio station sports tagus in Walnut. Just what's up here on Clipper stock without of Maslin. How are you good?
Adam Uh, I'm glad we got it going in that third quarter because I'm not gonna lie. The first six minutes of the second quarter I think might have been the worst basketball we've played. The struggle was real. They had a couple lolls. They went three minutes scoreless at one point in the fourth quarter, but they had that buffer, that cushion because they led by
a significant amount. Then I still should get that right. I was gonna say, I think, you know, with all these wins, it's a little annoying that I can't make ground on Denver, Dallas and pretty much Minnesota. So thanks Warriors. Just kidding, Yeah, exactly. They lost in Minnesota tonight. It's a game and a half in front of the Clippers. They're in the seventh spot. Clippers in the eighth spot currently, so in the playing tournament. And they blew that Dallas game the other day, Yes,
they did. Uh you know what I was thinking. I'm like, Denver kind of reminds them, reminds me of the Clippers right now without their guys, they're playing so well, and reminds you of the Clippers. I mean, they still have Nicolai, they still have number one star kind of I'm not gonna say all the way, but I mean they're playing so well without two key guys, ands like I wish we had we at least had one of our guys right now, I know. But how dangerous do you
think they'll be? Because I read something that Murray and Yokit. I mean, Murray and Porter are supposed to come back sometime in March. Where do you rank them with them back amongst the top teams? I mean, if Michael Porter Junior is healthy, and that's a big if because if you remember at the beginning of the season before and I want to say, he did have some type of back surgery, which is crazy that he's coming back,
but he didn't look like himself whatsoever. And that was an injury that came from the playoffs last year against Phoenix, where I want to say he missed some games in the second round they ended up getting swept. He just looked like a shell of his former self to start off this season. He didn't look right physically at all. If he's right, if Jamal Murray's right, coming off the acl yeah, they're as dangerous as anyone in the West.
I would put them as if those two guys are right, and it's a big if I put them as a top three team possibly in the league. I would have them over the Golden State Warriors, be honest, and right there with the Phoenix Suns. But be interesting. We're looking to see if the Clippers can get some guys back if the Cavalry is on the way. No update on that yet unless Coach Lou spoke about it post game. Here he was after the Clippers would win and sweep the the Houston Rockets Texas two
step in Houston one thirteen to one hundred with their victory tonight. Here was Coach Lou postgames in the first half and nine in the third quarter. Yeah, and just came in a half time just talking about the only adjustment we had to make was played the right way, and that was on both ends of the floor, you know, defensively and offensively. You know, if you don't have a shot, movie get to the next action. Even though we didn't miss four five layups in that first half, I just didn't think
we played the right way. In the second half and especially that third quarter, we came out and played the right way and we was able to open the game up. So terreces right in that bike the last stretch up the fourth quarters, you say, gotten even the five, but he's don't care.
Wait you think about where your team is at, uh thinking Christmas we outseet palls going with the elbow or two games door five like dead two games or follege and that that basically that's even since that talk like what does that? What does that mean for your team to go that long and play that either just you know, just our mental space. I think with the guys we have on the floor on the team, like they believe we can win every single night no matter who's on the floor. And it's been some tough
adjustment periods. You know, when you lose you know we knew Kahi was out, but when you lose your two best players and basically the whole offensive system is built around them. It's it's hard, you know, and so we've had a tweeks, you know, we had to make tweaks to our offense. You know, our coaching staff has done a great job of getting these guys in and making sure we're learning what we're trying to do, and
we're trying to sympathize as much as possible. But the biggest thing just their mindset and and the way these guys in the locker room coming to play every single night. And so when you got a team is gonna do that, then it makes me, you know, I gotta be I gotta do my job, you know, cause they're coming every night, fighting call and trying to win games. And so me and myself and the coaching staff, you know, we gotta we gotta do a good job as well to put these
guys in position to win games. And so both sides has been working really well. And so, you know, we started off struggling. You know, when Peg went out, we couldn't score the basketball. We didn't know how we would score. But now you don't have an opportunity to play through you know, team man playing through it me or playing through markets more, you know Luke on More, you know pen pinning down actions, playing with Zoo in the post, you know, Isaiah being a ball on the making
play. So we just you know, been trying to figure out, you know, what we're gonna get scoring from. And I think you know, we've we've we kind of understand who we are and how we got to play and ort to be successful. You get energy from the fact that you have these group of guys consistently and know that there's so many different things that you can do, even though it's not the same because and came to camp with its yeah for sure, and you know I told you guys, we went
through that. You know that tough stretch. I said, you know, give me four or five games to figure out what we've gotten, how we need to play, and we'll be able to figure out and win games. And like I said, these guys in the locker room, they come out and fight and compete every single night, and that always gives us a chance. And so offensively we figure out how we need to play and what we're looking for and what we're trying to do. You know, we can we
can win some games. And we've been doing that as of late. I know you kind of out there they when I mentioned you had like a dangerous team right in a dangerous eight, but who is you guys? But you guys won six or seven four in a row, and like you said, there's a certain mindset that you guys feel like you can win it. Yeah, And what kind of energy do you feel like your team has right now? We have great energy, you know, like I said, it's it's
not one man show. It could be somebody different every single night. And you know the last two games, you know, Zoo has been great. You know tonight having twenty two points and twelve rebounds. You know, Marcus always carrious it offensive load of soldier's Reggie. But you know we have you know, all those guys like a mere chipping hand with ten. You know, Brandon came out the bench. He had a good game as well.
So you know, six guys in double figures, just playing the right way and just trying to, you know, get the most out of everybody we have on the floor. And so those guys have been doing a good job that first half. You guys want six minutes that either team Man or Reggie on the floor. Would you two points in that stretch. Would you think of the way it's the bold hand and the responsibilities. But I just you know, just to get Brandon, you know, get him out on the
floor. He's been working hard, trying to do all the right things and just give him a feel And we did that early in the first half. And then you know, in the second half we got to me him on the nine minute mark or the fourth quarter, we was able to extend the league. But he's been doing a good job his activity defensively, making anybody pass, making anybody play, being decisive with his quick decisions, making you know, quick decisions and getting to the basket of taking a shot or getting
to the next action. So we put the point guard responsibilities on a mirror, and so you know, just a learning process for everybody, and I just want to give everybody opportunity, you know, Like I said, those guys did a good job. Different guys playing different roles, but leading to the same result. Another w for the Clippers. They've won six of seven. This is their best streak, I want to say, since they won seven in a row in early November, stretching into maybe late November, stretching
into December. And they're doing so without Paul George, without Kawhi Leonard, without Norm Powell, a Mirra Coffee running the point, Terrence Man having the ball in his hands a lot more. He had five assists, and I want to say had another seven points in the second quarter, just like he did on Sunday where the Clippers were down by seven. Maybe it was six, but with five minutes left in that second quarter, Terrence Man had seven
points. During that time period, Clippers were down just one at the half, had a little bit of momentum carried over into that third quarter and second half where they put up a forty spot. Because it's twenty five for the Houston Rockets. Clippers win one thirteen to one hundred and led by as many as twenty one. Coming up next, he'll hear from Vizza Zoobots post game right here on the Los Angeles Clippers Video Network at hand five seven alis fours
tis you're listening to Los Angeles Clippers basketball. He goes all the way to the ram A sky Scraping Jams. This is the official home of your LA Clippers, last name Rich. Clippers leave Houston with two ventories. The Thursday Night Clippers one thirteen to one hundred over the Rockets. Welcome into your post game show. This is Clippers tuck. I'm at a Maslin to eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight sixty six nine eight seven two five
seventy is the phone number. I just saw this quote coming out of the postgame media sessions with Terrence Man. He says, quote, a lot of people wrote us off the map once they figured out who was hurt, who was injured, they really didn't know what we got. That says a lot for our group. And when you're in these situations where you're missing so many key players, it has to be the whole is greater than the sum of
its parts. And the only way for that to happen is with great ball movement, getting guys to their spots on offense and getting open shots just by dissecting the defense and not playing a lot of iso ball. There were a few times the Clippers got into that a little bit. I mentioned the fourth quarter. They had a three minute stretch where they went scoreless, but then they got back to playing team ball and doing the little things hustle plays.
Terrence Man saved had an offensive rebound and the Clippers had seventeen of them in this one. An outrebound under the Houston Rockets once again by ten fifty five to forty four, but Terrence Man tap the ball out. Eventually it came back to him as he extended the possession and would hit a three point near the end of the third. You need possessions like that. You need what we saw from a Visa Zoo boss with a big block leading to a big
throwdown from Nick Batoum in transition. On the other side is the Clippers had one of their best games when it comes to fast break points. They had nineteen to fifteen for the Houston Rockets, the younger team that when they get into the open court, they can make you pay. Clippers were better at limiting some of those live ball turnovers in the second half, they still had sixteen of them total. That's been alone blemished the last three games. They
had eighteen turnovers on Sunday. I want to say in other eighteen Friday night against Los Angeles Lakers. It's almost done them in a couple of times,
but they've still found ways to win games late. And this one, yeah, they pulled away and they had a lead by as many as twenty one points in the fourth quarter, but down the stretch against Houston on Sunday, down the stretch against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night, and you can say that even though they've won six of seven and they're playing better, there are still areas to improve in the turnover area, the careless passes being one
of them, those misques. If they can take care of that, there's still another level to get to. That's why I say I don't believe this team is close to peaking yet, even for the roster that's available to coach lou they still have areas they can clean up and need to because the Lakers, they're gonna be hungry for that one. They don't want to get swept in the season series four games to none by the Clippers, who have dominated them over the last ten years, where they've won thirty one of the last
thirty eight meetings. It's unbelievable to say, but it's true. And this one though, they just had to find a way to take down the worst team in the West and get both of these victories. With just eighteen games left in the season, for them, every game becomes that much more magnified in every game for this team. With the guys that are available, you
know, there's still a learning process. They still have new guys. Even without Norman Powell, Robert Covington is out there, they still have guys that are getting more familiar with their roles and what's being expected of them. But they're really starting to embrace whatever coach lewis throwing their way. They're listening, and Coach lewis humble enough and laughed off the point that they could be one of the toughest eight seeds. They could be a dangerous team to make the
playoffs. But he deflects a lot of the praise because that's what leaders do. But he has been unbelievable. I don't know if anyone else. I don't believe any one else could do a better job with this team this season than coach lu perfect guy for this job. I know we would saying that for a while, but the versatility on this team, the death on this team. You have to push the right button, get the right guy in
at the right time, and nobody is better at making those adjustments. That's why no what Eagle Lexic call him the chiropractor than coach lou all right, we'll take our final time out. We'll come back. We'll get back to your phone calls. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy. Clippers at thirty three and thirty one. Now a couple of games above five hundred guys at one four in a
row. They'll try to make it five Thursday night against the Lakers. More on that coming up here on Clippers Store on the M five seventy Las Fillips. Yeah, time a Hawks slam. You're listening to Los Angeles Clippers. Basketball goes all the way of the ram A sky scraping jams. This is the official home of your LA Clippers. Hey, he records so much.
Demo job would not get the memo I do not cutting Mitto. Clippers win one thirteen to one hundred, Andy Houston over the Rockets, Madam Oslin here listening to Clippers talk age six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the full number Clippers going into another matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.
And you can say it's not a rivalry or the Lakers are down right now, and they aren't down sixty eight sixty one dollars right now, But I still expect them to give their best shot against the Clippers and try to avoid getting skunk this season, getting shut out in four games, where in the first three the Clippers showed up big late and all of them it was Luke Kennard and Marcus Morris. In game one, it was Reggie Jackson the end of Game two, more Marcus Morris in Game three with a big shot over
Russell Westbrook and left elbow. And the Clippers have dominated this series, this matchup for years now, but they're still a team missing their superstars, and you expect at least Lebron James and Russell Westbrook to be their Thursday Night And just as I've been saying every game, you can say it's just one of eighty two, but they feel more meaningful the closure you get to the playoffs,
the closer you get to the play in tournament. And the Clippers right now winners of six of their last seven, they're starting to feel like they're getting in sync offensively. The defense hasn't been a problem all year long, or they've been around the top five defense through most of the year. If
their offense is just average. That's good enough to win games, because well, they've been one of the best luch offenses a whole season long, so even when they're down, they play their best late in games where actually, if you know the numbers and a team with the best offensive rating on the season would have it around one hundred and thirteen, the Clippers, just in the crunch time last five minutes of a game within five have an offensive rating
of one hundred and twenty eight. They've been shooting fifty four percent from the field during that time, fifty percent from three. A lot of that is, of course, Reggie Jackson, who's top five in clutch time scoring and shooting a high percentage, and obviously we've seen him hit big shot after big shot. Clippers didn't need one of those for once. Tonight they win one thirteen to one hundred in Houston over the Rockets. Our next game against the
Lakers tip time Thursday night at seven pm. We'll have Clippers countdown for you starting at six before we get out of here.
