Everything's bigger in Texas, they say, including responses from bad losses. The Clippers bounce back after losing by twenty last

night in New Orleans to the Pelicans. They win by ten in Dallas and hold Dallas to just ninety nine points. Your final score. Clippers win one o nine to ninety nine over Luca don Chich and the Mavericks. Welcome into Clippers Talk. I'm at a Maslin eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number coming

up? My friend basketball analyst Bill Horrendi will be here. Plus we will also have postgame audio from the head coach to Ron lew after the Clippers completely redeemed themselves. Well, look, this is one of the biggest wins of the season, considering what happened yesterday and how poorly they played, especially defensively, where they gave up seventy two points in the paint. Tonight, Dallas

only had thirty points in the paint. The Clippers had forty four. So let's see what a difference a day makes the Clippers defensive mentality, that sense of urgency and intensity we've talked about that they need to start games off with.

You saw it from the beginning in the first quarter. And by the way, they did all this without Patrick Beverley and without Sergebaca, which is why I said yesterday, they have enough talent to still compete and beat anyone even when they are down, as long as the two one three connection are out there. And guess who else was in the back in the starting lineup,

Marcus morrise and beats the Zoobots two starters from last year. We're back in because of injuries and because I guess head coach Shronloo will hear from him in a second on this, but he likes Marcus Morris back in the starting lineup. And Nicholas Battoun performed really well off the bench. He had four three pointers, two of those came in the third quarter. But Marcus Morris is the one that got off to a really hot start in that first back

as a starter. He had seven of his fourteen points in the first quarter, played with great energy, played great defense. I talked about him as my player to watch because I felt like they needed somebody to just step up with that passion and energy and presence and be demonstrative out there. And there's no doubt Kawai was that as well to close this game out. But Marcus

Morris plays with edge and when you're missing someone like Patrick Beverley. The reason I think he has such a big effect that goes beyond the box score is because he turns a game into something much more competitive than just a regular season basketball game in the NBA, and there's seventy two of them normally eighty two. He turns it into a playoff like atmosphere. He gets chippy with guys,

he gets underneath guy's skitting, and he's able. Sorry I'm pouncing the as I get intense myself talking about Patrick Beverley, but he's able to bring out the best in his teammates. He rallies guys. They see the way he attacks, they see the way he plays, and they know they have to play at least that hard because the smallest guy on the court is giving

you an effort like that. Without him, they just haven't had that same desire defensively, and they've been really inconsistent in that area for a lot of this season. Coming into tonight's game after what happened yesterday, they were fourteenth defensively going into that game against the New Orleans Pelicans. By the time the game ended and they gave up one hundred and thirty five points last night, they had dropped from fourteenth defensively with defensive rating to sixteenth in one game.

While we're more than halfway through a season. That's not easy to do, but that's how poor they were on that end tonight. Though they only gave up twenty three points in that first quarter, Dallas did not have a quarter where they scored thirty or more. Their quarter high tonight was twenty eight, and a lot of it I felt like was Marcus Moris being out there and providing some of that spark. But then also Kawhi Leonard was so locked in.

This was the claw. This is a vintage Kawhi Leonard virtuoso performance from him. Because even though I say, look he was nine of twenty from the field had twenty two points. That's not as efficient as he typically can be in his just one of five from three, but he had eight of those points in the fourth quarter down the stretch and had huge momentum place like I don't know a dunk on a unicornstat Porzingis got hammered yammed on by Kawhi

Leonard, who also got fouled. They didn't call it, but that was one of his best dunks in the Clippers uniform so far, and it was needed. Sometimes a dunk is more than a dunk. Sometimes a play means more than that. It can be a momentum shift. It can get a team pointed in the right direction. And when the Chips were down and Dallas was fighting back multiple times, the Clippers were up by twelve early in the fourth quarter, but Dallas went on a run. Tim Hardaway Junior was insane.

He had sixteen of his twenty one points in the second half, had four three pointers in the second half, and Dallas was really good from beyond the arc. They go seventeen of forty one from three and lose because sometimes it's about those timely threes and the Clippers had four big ones in the fourth quarter, two from sweet Low Williams, one of them early, one of

them late. Same with Paul George. He hit a three pointer at the nine minute mark and then he would hit the dagga over Luca Dontech, just a ridiculous step back handles like Steph Curry at the height of six nine Paul George. I mean, we've seen this shot from him a lot, but considering he was four of seventeen before he took that shot, takes guts when you're having an off night like that to take the biggest shot at the game

and stick it. And it was well defended by Luca Done. Not good enough, though Paul George is indefensible when he's playing like that on the perimeter. We saw it actually early on. He had a shot over Maxi Kleiba baseline in the first quarter that was just sick as the kids say, too much sauce as. I think the call was from Noah Eagle, and I thought he was off to a really good start, but then he would struggle and he has struggled since the foot injury. More on that coming up,

but best win of the year so far put that qualifier on there. We say that every time best win of the year so far for the Clippers because of what happened yesterday, because it was gut check time. Kawhi Leonard came out last night post game and said he's very concerned with their inconsistency. So to come back and now be seven and zero in the second game of a back to back, that is the correct response. They had the competitive juices

that you needed to start this one off. If you were ever concerned about head coach Sharan lu not having their attention, just look at the way they responned after losses. This team is so good in those situations. Now they have to move this forward. They have to turn this into winning eight of ten. They have to get rolling here because there's an opportunity with some of

the other teams in the Western fence right now not playing that well. It's not just the Clippers who have struggled four and seven in their last eleven games. The Lakers also right there, and the Utah Jazz their four and five in their last nine. Dallas, though had been one of the hottest teams in the NBA. They had won eleven of their last fourteen contests so this was a big test, and the Clippers were still undermanned and shorthanded, but

I thought they got a special performance from Kawhi Leonard. That offensive rebound that turned into an and one with under five minutes left in the fourth quarter was just unbelievable. He also had a step back Jordan esque fade away, as Noah Eagle put it in the fourth had a couple of those on the baseline too. That's why I like to call him ninety six MJ. That's what he looks like to me. But he had more bounced defensively than I've seen

him in a while. He was everywhere on that end. Someone said on Twitter it looked like he was doing jumping Jack's at one point, going back and forth. He was just a one man wrecking crew on that end of the court. And overall, Luca Donche's just nine of twenty three twenty five points. You'll live with that. Chris stat porzingis he hit some tough shots,

but he only took fourteen finished with twenty two points. It was really Tim Hardaway Junior keeping them in it when he hit three three pointers in the last three minutes of the third quarter. See that five times fast. He was really good for them off the bench, but the Clippers bench, considering two of those guys were now in the starting lineup, I thought they played

really well. Nicholas Batoum and you know, you don't want to call it at demotion, but this was the first time he was coming off the bench this season and he adjusted. And this is a team guy. He'll do whatever it takes to win. He just wants to be that glue guy. And has one of his best shooting performances in the last couple of weeks, going four of six from distance, and then Sweet Lou Williams. I'm just so sick and tired of hearing people will say he doesn't play any defense.

It's just not true. Now that's been his reputation going back over ten years. Fine, but there have been plenty of moments going back even to last year's playoffs, and the numbers support this, where he has been a solid to good defender. And he had two steals on Luca Dontae in the fourth quarter, including the old pull the chair out trick Carl Malone's style on Luca where he ended up getting the steal. And he had fourteen points and two

big three pointers and two steals in that fourth quarter. We'll take a quick call here before we break, Sean in Inglewood, you're on Clippers stock without on Maslin. Hush on, Hey, my friend, how are you, Adam? I'm good. Where you been? Brother's business used to But it's all good, Sean. What do you think of the win tonight? I

like to win tonight, but you know that is not. Also the only reason why I called because as a conglomerate of the last games and as of this season, I'm upset with a lot of things that ty Lew has done. So there have been about sevenuary eight games where he called. As for the Kawai thirty's probably seen our way from the basket. Weave one basket, no direction, no offense, no no, no coordination, and bad play and they've lost those games. So we lose the close games. This coach,

it's supposed to help you win the close games. Without a coach at all, the Clippers record could be when it is right now, Sean, Sean, I disagree, man. I would need some actual specifics on what players you're talking about at what point at the end of games, because the Clippers themselves and Kawhi Leonard has admitted this. They're looking to coach lou because well, he hasn't installed his entire offense yet, so they're not always going

off of instincts late in games, and that has been a problem. But tonight I guess they closed things out. I got a specific for you the Milwaukee game. Seven foot one low pairs, six foot eleven attentive coupo at six foot eleven port. What does he do? He put a bucket six eight guys in there to stick him. That was and then and Ganna's blue six foot six and fourth quarts just like the All Star Game. Nobody that can tell enough to stick him. He does some things that I just don't

understand. This bad coaching, I'm gonna tell I'm gonna just say like it is. I've been in love with my Clippers. I moved out here in eighty four. The Clippers moved down here in eighty four. Nothing but a Clipper fan, Okay. Never like the Lakers. I'm gonna tell you the truth. They need to improve in a lot of way. This particular win is not the season. The season has been really up and down. Sehn. No one's disagreeing with that one win, one loss has not defined them

so far. But I will say they struggle late in that game against Milwaukee also because well Kawhi and PG went all nine, and they did settle for some tough shots and that is something that where they have to learn from. And I thought tonight was a step in the right direction. I think a win like this where you hold on against a Dallas team that has been one of the best teams in the NBA over the last couple of weeks, and obviously they have one of the toughest players to guard in the NBA and Luca

donchech. I thought this was exactly the type of effort and playoff like atmosphere victory that you'd like to see from the Clippers. And once again, they still didn't even have Serge Ibacca or Patrick Beverly Shawn I give them that. I'm go with a statistic from the game before twenty four and four, when they're leaving by over ten points the closed game. I get the statistics from the announcer, Yes, from the game yesterday. Close games they don't win

because they're disorganized in the last two minutes. That needs to be improved. Other than that, yeah, I still love my Clippers, but you've got to improved. Okay, I'm just so men like it is yet local clippermation you Adam. I'm out all right, Sean, thank you for the phone call. Yeah. I mean they've said it themselves. They have to get better, they have to improve. But coming off of last night's loss,

this was improvement. Now it has to extend out and they have to string some wins together here and start to get back on a role because they haven't won multiple games in a row in about three weeks now. Obviously that extends also over the All Star break. But this team is better than that, and I think they showed some of that obviously tonight, and that defensive mentality, that mindset, the physicality out there, the resistance they showed holding Dallas.

Holding any team in the NBA in this day and age under one hundred points, it's close to heard of. I think the worst team right now is averaging one oh seven, and they held the Dallas Mavericks to ninety nine.

That's something, all right. Coming up next, you'll hear from the head coach Toronto lou Well, I think is the master of adjustments, and it's proven that well, yeah, this team has a lot to work on, and they're still fourth right now in the Western Conference, and I think three and a half games back of the team with the number one record in the league, in the Utah Jazz. So let's put things in perspective a little bit here. They haven't played their best basketball, They're ceiling is much

higher, and there's still thirty one more games left to develop. More consistency. That has been the word of the last forty eight hours. Now, all right, more Clippers stock coming up next right here on the five seventy LA Sports Stagger from Paul George is the official home of your LA Clippers. Don't miss a moment of Clippers basketball all season long. Williams picks up a

dribble about forty five feet away with a bounce past. Now for Leonard with tennis shoot Kawhi at the top of the key, puts the head down down the middle of the lane. Oh, Kawhi Leonard. He just put his major seven foot three Christaps Porzingis on a poster Leonard with a right handed plush. Maybe Kawhi Leonard's best all around regular season games so far as a Clipper,

just twenty two points. What led them with seven assists and had three of those in the third quarter was hitting Nicholas Batoum coming off a spin moves in the lane on the outside for three pointers. Was finding a Vita Zoobots under the basket while putting the ball around defenders. And then also four steals and just one turnover and eight boards. Kauai put together the type of performance you want to see from your leader and from a superstar in this league that

is a two time finals MVP winner. He has the pedigree, he has the resume, and he knows that they have to be more locked in and he certainly was, and the rest of the team followed. Clippers win by ten in Dallas with the final score of one on nine to ninety nine. Welcome back into Clippers Stock. I'm at a Maslin. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number before we hear from the head coach t Lou post game. Let's go to Anne in Glendale, Hi,

and you're on Clipper Stock with Auta Maslin. How are you okay, Hi, Adam. I think this is a terrific team. They have a lot of talent. A great game tonight My only question to you, you know, with your background, what do you think about Paul George's problems, because he seems to be a very talent to player, but I don't feel that this stage, you know, is comfortable for him. He seems to lose his energy or his focus, and I feel he's kind of a weak member

of the team. Well, and how about the three point he hit tonight? The biggest shot of the game was twenty six seconds left. Yes, I recognize that, but it just worries me that he's It may just be the pressure may just be too much for him. I don't know, what do you think. I appreciate the phone call, the Paul George narrative stuff and the playoff pe talk. While he's had some bad moments in the playoffs and Game seven last year, yes against the Denver Nuggets, nobody really played

well, including Paul George, but it is over an overblown narrative. For the most part. You look at the numbers, you look at the big

games. You look at him being the leader of that Pacers team that wins seven games in twenty thirteen with Lebron James and Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh He's had spectacular moments in the playoffs, and the majority of his playoff games last season were good with the Clippers. But people like to harp on the negative with him for whatever reason, and also they focus on that in general. I understand, but he has been really good at times in big moments,

and I expect him to rise to the moment like he did tonight. And I like moments like this or games like this where you are struggling where your shot isn't there and you stay aggressive. And he was going to the basket even when his shot didn't look good from the outside, and then late he still trusted that shot over Luca Dontchich, So it could be something to build on for him. Now. He has been struggling recently, in fact, going back, and it's really since the foot injury since he's come back.

Our friend Joey Lynn posted this earlier on Twitter. But in his last six games coming into tonight's contest PG thirteen, just eighteen points per game, shooting thirty eight percent from the field under thirty percent from three. So that's a big reason why the Clippers overall had been struggling. But I don't know if that foot is bothering him still because this and this stretch of games and these numbers coincide with him returning from the foot injury, because right before that he

had those eight three pointers in Cleveland. He was unconscious. But I expect him to get back to there and he's still having an unbelievable season. All right, Let's hear from the head coach postgame t Lou after the Clippers respond and win one o nine to ninety nine in Dallas over the Mavericks. It, Ti, what did you see specifically in what made you want to put Marcus in the starting lineup? Did that? Did that kind of spark not

only his game but also Nick's game and everybody else's. Yeah, I'll just think, you know, getting him, you know, to come out there and start force and getting working again. You know, I thought, you know, he came into the season, you know, miss the first ten or eleven games, so we wanted the easier men to it. And Nick, you know, Nick did a fabulish job. Was nothing nothing to niked

done. You know, he's actually played great for us. We just wanted something to kick start markets, to get him going and getting ready you know down the stretch. What you saw tonight. Is this something you think you're gonna stick with? Yes, sir, Thanks time. Thanks. We'll go next to Shane Young. Hey, Ty, the team is now seven and oh on the second night and back to backs. What does that really say to you about the team like that that they respond emphatically after you call out

their effort defensively? You know you don't want to have to keep doing that. You know it's not something you want to get used to doing. But you know, Kawad just showing his leadership or just you know, wanting to play back to backs. He's healthy and that that's big for us and just shows that you know, he's trying to he's trying to do the right thing.

And you know back to backs to share. I think we're seven and oh, so it just you know, back to backs test test your manhood and test you who you are and test your care And I thought to nine we responded very well, you know, especially hold his team to nine and nine points. I have to give it up one hundred and thirty five last

night. Thanks. We'll go next to law As great as Marcus was, you had Zoo also in the starting lineup, and I thought he did an now standing job staying with Luca multiple times on an island out there on the

perimeter, and it's it just seemed like an unconventional look for him. And it's not the first time that Zoo's really done well are you Are you surprised at his just poise out there, not panicking when he's on his own against one of the best offensive players in the league this season, you know, not really long because last year, you know, in the bubble in the playoffs, he did a great job, you know, with our beers because of porzingis such a great shooter in Cleverer that we do a good job with

just beering off. And now you know Zoo has to play one on one. They did a good job in the bubble, so that's why we was comfortable doing it. We know they had great shooting around, so just to make him play one on one and you know, Zoo me in a big body, stand in front and just trying to you know, take the first initial bump because Luke was so strong, and then stay down on all the shot fakes. And like I said, I thought Zoo did a great job

with him. And and also Luca has seven turnovers tonight, you mentioned last night you wanted to see more physicality, you wanted to h at the very least. I know you mentioned that one of the complaints you had about Zion was he didn't even get to the free throw line. He was just getting to the basket into his spots, snake shots over and over. How are you feeling about the defense that was able to force turnovers but also able to

keep this Dallas team off the free throw line for an entire game. Yeah, I thought it was big. I thought, you know, bringing the physicality to the game. I'm nothing easy, and you know what felt good. I was just seeing like when they did score, we got pissed off and mat about that instead on the other end, and you know, Prezinis made one like six or seven feet behind the three point in line of Kawa got matters at itself because we said he would shoot the trail three and from

deep. So just taking that responsible really a holist on ourselves, just to make sure we follow in the game plan and understanding what we need to do. And like I said, tonight was a good job just showing the physicality and also doing without foul. You know, Marcellis Wallace talked about pride like it's always a bad thing. But the Clippers tonight very prideful in making sure they bounced back and respond after a loss like that last night. Defensibly you

could see it, and I love what t Luja said there. They got upset every time they got scored on. By the way, I haven't talked enough about a Visa zoobots yet. Seven of eighth from the field fifteen points, eleven boards, all seven makes dunks. And I've been saying this for a while, but when you're talking about getting more points in the paint, get it to big Zoo. He is a weapon. And when he goes lue all cinder like he did on one hook shot. Okay, so six

of seven we're dunks. It just shows off the high skill level yass. Clippers win by ten in Dallas with the final score one on nine to ninety nine. More Clippers talk coming up next to my friend Bill Horrenda will be here. You're listening to a M five seventy LA Sportsville y'all dagger from Paul George. This is the official home of your LA Clippers. Don't miss a moment of Clippers basketball all season log sizing off dot k three to shoot George

right, wait three oh the dagger PG. Thirteen. That boop was rated R and he puts the game away one nine ninety nine with twenty five seconds remaining. Noah Eagle on the call as the Clippers win one O nine to ninety nine in Dallas over the Mavericks. They are seven and oh in the second game of a back to back. Welcome back into Clippers Stock. I'm Adam Moslin eight six six ninety seven two five seventy eight sixty six ninety eight

seven two five seventies, CJ Mitch, Jeff Tagus. Hold on, we'll get to you, but I want to bring in a friend from the nine one six. Who is the Dicky V of NBA analysts. It is Bill Horrenda. Bill, thanks for coming back on Clippers Stock. How are you my player? That's how I praise. I'm gonna try to move up to it. Oh, it's that time of the year, you know, Bill.

What did you think of this performance by the Clippers coming off of the disaster in New Orleans last night and the postgame comments from Kawhi Leonard talking about being overly concerned with a loss like that because it talked about it or it spoke to their lack of consistency so far this season. Does this give you more hope that this Clippers team is different, is built different than they have

been going back to last year. Yes, and it's sort of the top Adam, I mean, Lawrence Frank has talked about the way the Clippers lost last season that you cannot sweep under the rug shared adversity. You got to own it. And I think those are very very healthy signs. And what's even healthier is not what you're saying, what you're doing on the floor. You hold Dallas to under one hundreds, you hold them scoreless over the final

three minutes. They only go to the free throw line five times. This is a team that averages in the low twenties getting to the free throw line. So what did they do? They defended without fouling. It was a great bounce back and guys step up like Marris Senior of course, and the Tomb accepting their roles and they produce and you do it without Abacca and Pat

Beverley. Great bounce back game for the Clippers. Time. We just heard from t Loop post game talk about how he's going to keep the starting lineup with Marcus Morris inserted there. They put him back there tonight. He didn't start off there to begin the season because he was out he andjured, and Nicholas Batoum played so darn well there was nothing you could do about that. But Marcus seems to help spark this team. Do you like him in that

spot, going back to that starting role? I really do. If you look at the numbers at him, the Clippers have really struggled if they're not leading in halftime. So this is the typical argument five best versus best. Five. Now, he tonight was terrific along with zubots right, thirteen of nineteen combined from the floor. That's sixty eight percent, twenty nine point seventeen rebounds between the two of them. And but toomb yes, twelve points floor,

six all from downtown, but also seven rebounds. So I do really like this move, and you know, at him, here's something for a lens for perspective. You be brown. January and February in the NBA are dog days. This is where you're if you're an underdog, if you're a team with potential, you can make progress. Emerging teams can steal games because top teams are not paying attention. Now you have to hope that the Clippers are paying attention, that they focus, they compete, they dial in,

and consistency in this league is progress. As Michael Cage, the Oklahoma City Thunder analysts has said, he is Bill Horrenda. Follow him at Bill at R E N d A on Twitter. Bill, let me get your thoughts on this as well, because the Clippers, when we've talked about their weaknesses, but they don't get in the paint a lot. They don't get to the free throw line enough. They only attempted eleven free throws tonight, but they did do a great job, as you mentioned, defending without fouling when

it came to Dallas. But to me, when I see a Visa Zubos play like that near the rim, he's such a monster and he's such a weapon out there. Their points in the paint issue could easily be remedied by getting Zoo Bots the ball in good positions inside height. Tylan talked about it previate getting to the rim, attacking, getting to the paint, getting to the free throw line, Adam. And you know why he's doing that because listen, you listen to Das are the great assistant coach to the late Jerry

Sloan with the Utah Jazz. Frequently in the playoffs, what happens, you have to score through physicality, and what happens is the teams that usually win are the teams that are scoring the most points in the fourth quarter from the free throw line extended and below. So you need that. Where are you going when the opposition takes away your first option, your second option and your

three point game is not there. And you're right, it's at the rim attacking, and that's something of course you want to inculcate into this team. I know they leave the league in three point field goal percentage, that's terrific, But you're right to amplify your point. You've got to be tough,

you've got to have that physicality, and you have to have balance. We have only had two champions in the past twenty years outside of the top ten and defensive rating, and in the last ten years only three teams in the finals with a worse defensive rating than the opposition has won it. So it's about balance, getting to the rim, at protecting the rim. Final one for you here, Bill, because I got a call about this earlier talking

about Paul George and well he was just five of eighteen. He hit the biggest shot of the game to put it away from the Clippers with twenty six seconds left over Luca don chich And to me, when you are struggling at times and there's a narrative surrounding him in the playoffs, whether it's fair or not, moments like that, to me can be character building but also confidence builders because he wasn't playing his best and then he stepped up and hit the

biggest shot of the game. How do you view PG. Thirteen Because he has struggled as of late since coming back from the foot injury, but that was a big time shot in the big spot for him. I thought tonight absolutely Mkudgrass for the evening and listen, I mean, confidence can be fragile

even with four hundred and fifty of the top players in the world. And not to mention Paul George an All Star, but my perspective is this that, yeah, there must be lingering effects of this foot injury, and he is a veteran mature enough to recognize that all that talk, that's just noise. You've got to ignore it. Play through it hope that you stay healthy

and continue to play your game and focus collectively. So again, there are things that the Clippers certainly need to work on and continue to focus on without a doubt, individually and collectively. And you've got to stay, stay humble, and stay hungry because this league will do that to you. Clippers right in the middle now eight of nine on the road. Of course, they

had lost four or five coming into this one. This has got to be a turning point after the ignominious loss that they had in December against Dallas. Funny they can turn the page to night against them, and then of course the ignominious lost last night in the Walls. Yeah, hopefully Paul George can build off that shot and the Clippers can build off this victory tonight. They win by ten with a final score of one o nine to ninety nine in

Dallas over Luca down hitch in the Mavericks. He is Bill Horrenda again. Follow him on Twitter at Bill h r E n DA Bill. We'll talk soon, my friend, Happy march madness right right backus coming up next. We'll take a quick break here. We'll get to your phone calls to close

things out. CJ. Mits. Jeff Tagis will get to you somebody else, going on to highlight and underscore his performers a little bit before we break here, before I forget Reggie Jackson was really good again coming off eighteen points last night, even though the Clippers didn't play well. I thought he was

good. In the starting lineup without Patrick Beverley, Tonight led them in the plus minus, was a plus twenty two, had seven crucial points in that third quarter, and was playing downhill with some acrobatic layups that he got to fall and had three assists. People always talk about the lack of a more traditional point guard, and I'm not saying Reggie Jackson has always been that, but he is a solid playmaker and he is someone that can cure what ails

them in some ways. Was getting downhill and getting out and transition. More Clippers had eighteen fast break points Dallas just fourteen. Clippers win by ten. More Clippers talk coming up next year. On a five seventy LA Sports floating with the right hand well short and the rebound goes to Morris up ahead for George of the leak out here it comes down the left Dalis site stepped past

Leiba no foul at the rim rebound by Leonard. He put it in plus the foul and add one for the claw to extend the Clippers lead and give him twenty one to night. That is all hustle, all hard from the board man getting paid in Dallas, Kawhi Leonard with a massive clutch bucket down the stretch. Noah Ego on the call. Biggest rebounds of the game came from Kawhi Leonard. There that offensive board and the Clippers out rebounded the Dallas

Mavericks by thirteen. In the ball game, they had five more offensive rebounds, including that one. They win by ten. They run it back against Dallas Wednesday, still in Dallas. Tip time is at six thirty. We'll have your Clippers pregame show starting right here at five thirty. Welcome back into Clippers Talk. I'm at a moslind Okay, here we go, CJ and Alhambra. You're on Clippers stop with Autam Maslin. Thanks for calling. Hey,

Adam. First of all, big props to you, buddy. During the pregame, you called out Morris to be the guy to shine and you called it. You called it. He knew, he knew you had money on it. I guess broken clock is right twice a day, CJ.

But however, big props to me CJ from Alhambro because prior to the All Star break after the Washington game, I called in and I really felt that that Zubos really needs to get into the starting five and if it's going to be a tandem with Surge to make the Zubaka tandem, or even with Morris and do the zoorris Uh, it's needed for Zoobots to be at the five. And we also showed that this puts Patum coming off the bench where he

excelled tonight. He really came through along with Jackson and you know with PJ or I'm sorry. PG thirteen Slumping Kawai had a good game, maybe not one of his best, but really put the defensive vices in the fourth quarter, which which is also encouraging. I thought. Defensively he was spectacular CJ. He had that steal on Luca Donchis where he poked the ball away.

He was everywhere out there. He was omnipresent Kauai, and it carried over to mister Sweet Lou who got two big steals in the fourth and two really needed buckets from from the tray. So I think we are addressing some of our issues. We're ten days away from the trade deadline, and instead of having like a knee jerk reaction, let's just kind of play up these the good wine ups again a little bit more, and I think again going forward with Zoo up to five. This is what works. This is what really

works, man, all right, CJ. I appreciate the phone call. We'll see if that's the direction t lu goes. Viza Zubos did play thirty five minutes without search of bucket tonight and he looked fresh down the stretch, which was critical. And he didn't get into foul trouble either. He had just one after struggling in that area, especially in the first half. He had three fouls yesterday in the first half against New Orleans. Viza Zubots has

untapped potential. He is really one of the more underrated players in this league, and I do think can be a force for this team whether or not he's starting or coming off the bench. But you just knew Nicholas Batum. He's going to fit in wherever you need him to complete team. Guy just wants to keep this thing going. He had seven boards himself. Let's go to Tagis and well that Tagu. What's up? You're on Clippers styth without

of Maslin. How are you, hey, Adam. I think before the season started, I think this is been the starting lineup that we kind of anticipated. I think we thought maybe a Bocca would come on with the bench with Pat beb Yeah, yeah, exactly, and I know he thtretches the Flora Bucca, but I think going back to last year, I feel like zoo Bug plays his best with Kauai and think you saw something with that today. Kawai was able to feed him, get him some easy dunks, and

I think that gets him going. Well, let me say this real quick, Tagus. The good thing is even when a Visa zoo Bos doesn't start, he comes in usually with five minutes left in the first quarter, and he's been playing late and big minutes in fourth quarters. In fact, when we were just twenty games into this season, somewhere around there, he already played more minutes in the fourth quarter just twenty games into this season than he did all of last season. So you know he's able to finish games off.

And coach t lou does like to ride the hot hand and does trust him late and you gotta love that. No, that's a good point, that's true. I think also, I wasn't very impressed in the last four minutes of their offense today. I think other than Paul george last second shot, I think the only basket they really got was a Kauie offensive rebound. I don't think they were able to score in between on set possessions. Is that correct? Yeah, they had six points in the last two minutes.

But on the other hand, their defense completely locked up Dallas. They didn't score in the last three minutes. The defense was great, I think. No, I don't know. I think was Lou Williams in the in the game in the last two three minutes, because I do feel like that's a a bit of a problem because quite often he's not on the floor, and going back for years now, he's been one of their clutch players. And I know there's a offensive defensive rotation, but I think something. I think

today they had Reggie Jackson in there. Reggie wasn't there the last two minutes of the game. I don't know if that was by designer, just because Lou Williams came in at the end of the third quarter and played I think

about fifteen straight minutes then, right. It was great that Paul George stayed aggressive and he took that last shot, but that's the same kind of shot that he took in Milwaukee, and he was criticized, as you know, in him and quiet that they were playing hero ball taking less second shots. I would like them to see more getting those set plays when the defense is set, the posing defensive set, and they're able to score. I think

there's really critical going down the line. The only step played that they really have is posting up Kawai, which I think is great, But even then when he passes out, they're not getting clean looks like that they should be getting. And I think they just need a lot more reps in that, and I hope they play a lot more close games, which will pay dividends in the playoffs. I'm with you to a just a great phone call.

I think these type of victories, when you have to face adversity like this, when you're playing a good team on the road and you're in a tight game down the stretch, they most definitely can be confidence builders and something you keep in the back of your mind moving forward. So tonight step in the right direction. They can still be better offensively down the stretch, but they were unbelievable on defense against a potent Dallas Mavericks offense. Mitch in New Jersey,

what's up? You're on Clipper stop without a Muslin. I's going to a good game, good show. Und from their sense games usually knowly Houston zions it's point guarding. It's like a bull going. I ain't even gonna wear them dyeing and we would like the matter was, he was just unstoppable. He was just general. Anyway, I love the lineup. I hope to be permanent, and I saw true they truth to this. The Clippers like interest in Hill. I don't think the Hill. I think he's he's

pass's fine. I was get a training by the Hill in my book, I hope not match. I appreciate the phone call. I think you're talking about George Hill, who's been a really solid player, a veteran. We have heard his name being brought up before U and look, he's had a lot of playoff experience in his career. And I trust this Clippers front office completely and whatever move they made, considering the stuff they've done over the last

couple of years. You got to have a lot of confidence and they're making the right move. Uh final call the night. Who else could it be? Jeff in Tarzana, Jeff, how are you well? Adam? You know what, I was so embarrassed last night after that game. Giving up one hundred and thirty five points to a mediocre New Orleans team is ridiculous. And you know Dallas is better than New Orleans. They shouldn't ever give up that many points. You know, you score one hundred and fifteen points in

the game like the Clippers did, this should win the game. That's got to be one of the worst performances they've had all year, except for when they lost by fifty one. But I like the idea of the Clippers points

in the paint. That's where zubecks dos strength us. And I was wondering, with all the buyouts and everything, do you think there's any possibility of the Clippers getting Lane Alrich, You know, if they're not gonna if they're not going to get Andre Andre Andre I'm losing his last name here for Cleveland, Andre Draummond. I would think one other guy would be really good. Lino Outage can still play, so I would think that'd be really good.

And I was wondering what your opinion was about, Jeff, thank you for the phone call. I like LaMarcus Aldridge. I don't know if he's a need, though, I don't know if I want him taking away many minutes from Zubots or Sergebaca. At this point in his career, he's thirty five. He was getting thirteen and five this season and just twenty five minutes a night. But he's been beat up a little bit. He hasn't played as much and just doesn't fit in anymore with more of a youth movement going on

there in San Antonio. So there's going to be that mutual parting of ways. But I would think they will be able to get something for him and not have to just buy him out. Same with Cleveland and Andre Drummond. I don't see how they don't get at least a second round pick, which is I think what they used to get him initially. We'll see. Trade deadline is ten days away. Clippers. Though they win by ten in Dallas with a final score one on nine to ninety nine, they run it back

against the Mavericks that's coming up. On Wednesday. Tip time will be at six thirty. We'll have Clippers countdown for you at five thirty. Before we get out of here, I do want to thank the Clippers organization, Noah Eagle, Brian Seaman, Ralph lawlor get Well, big brother Jake. I'm back here in the bank, Zach Elcaldy, Zach, thank you a great job as always until Wednesday with your Clippers countdown shows starting at five thirty.

Still in Dallas. I'm Adam Moslin. We'll talk to you then. Alas Churches Dallas and
