Get your fall. It's time to react to La Clippers basketball. This is Clippers Talk all the chat, reaction and analysis hosted by Adam Aslan. You know he's feeling good. Take the show with you anywhere you are and get the podcast. I'm the iHeart Radio and now your host. He makes everything happen, Adam Moslan. Paul George was hotter than Rhanna and Asana in Phoenix. But Clipper Nation, I know you're probably sweating this one out late,
but the Clippers hold on and prevail. They win one twelve to one oh seven over the Phoenix Suns. Welcome into Clippers Talk. I'm at Am Moslin to eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy if you would like to jump on. After PG thirteen, Paul George goes for his season high of thirty nine points, not his
Clippers high. He had forty eight in a game in Minnesota last year, but he had twenty two points in the first half seventeen in the second half. Was doing it from the outside where he was seven of ten from distance. This is why I say he's like a six nine Steph Curry. When he gets it going with his handles at that height. Also, by the way, it reminds me a little bit of Steph but he'll put you on skates, and he did that multiple times to DeAndre Ayton, who was eating
at times. He had twelve of his twenty four in the third quarter, but he was no match for Paul George, who took him off the dribble, went to the basket against Ayton, who's one of the better rim protectors in the league. But then also he was just helpless trying to guard PG thirteen on the perimeter, as was everyone for the Phoenix Suns, who had not lost at home this season, who were ahead in the top spot in the West. Granted it's only been a couple of weeks, but they were
five and one. Now they dropped a five and two and they take their first loss at home, and maybe while while wearing the Valley jerseys, which are new to them this season, I said the Clippers got to be like Bayside against Valley. They went ac Slater on them with the body slam. This was a tough game, though, when you were up by thirty one, considering the Clippers got up that much in the first half and then it
was just a two point game one minute into the fourth quarter. And we've seen this a couple of times this season where they had big leads against the Lakers on Opening Night, they had a big lead against the Denver Nuggets on Christmas, and they would relinquish those leads, but they would hold on and make plays down the stretch and overcome the adversity when the opposition makes a run. And the Clippers only scored forty eight points in the second half tonight after
scoring sixty four in the first half. They were outscored by fifteen points in the second half after leading by twenty at the half. You knew Phoenix was gonna make a run at some point. You didn't expect Kawhi Leonard to have a night like this, but what a time for his patna thirteen thirteen in the two one three connection to pick up Kauai the Claw, who had a very very rare off night four of twenty one from the field, two makes in the first half, two makes in the second and half, could really
never get it going. There was a three minute stretch in the fourth quarter where he missed four shots. You just don't see it even when Kawhi has an off night in the fourth, he picks it up. He makes clutch plays down the stretch. We've seen it over the years, whether it be with the Clippers or with the Toronto Raptors or before that with the San Antonio Spurs. He's just one of the most reliable clutch time players in the league.
But he struggled and Paul George had seven of his thirty nine points in the fourth. But more so than the scoring, the biggest play from him really came with just twelve seconds left when he made a pass to Nicholas Bazum in the corner, who would hit a three pointer to put them up by six with just eleven seconds left. And Nicholas Batoum, Saint Nicholas Batoum has
been a godsend. He's on a veterans minimum minimum. He was bought out by the Charlotte Hornets and the Clippers are reaping the benefits of that because he has been unreal to start this season off. You couldn't ask for more from him. He had fourteen points, but on five of nine shooting, went four of seven from deep. Made that the biggest shot of the game. That three pointer in the corner. I think he had two threes in the
first quarter. The Clippers overall went seventeen of twenty nine from distance. That's almost sixty percent. I was kind of screaming, take some more threes, even Paul George, who took ten, take more. You hit seven. They were hitting or they were shooting better from the outside than from two. It's happened a few times this year. They have guys who are lethal from the outside. Luke Nard's a three point shooter. Lou Williams is streaky.
Granted, same with Reggie Jackson, but Paul George very efficient, Patrick Beverley efficient, Kawhi Leonard overall, but he went over three. Nicholas Batoum has been a good three point shooter the way. He was just about a year remove now from shooting thirty nine percent with the Charlotte Hornets, and he looks
to be back to that. But then Sergebacco, this is someone else that brought in because he's that stretch five, because he can protect the paint, he can get in the paint, he can pick and roll with you, he can pick and pop with you, and he can hit shots from the outside and hit two monster three pointers. To start off the fourth quarter. The Clippers were cold. Reggie Jackson, who had a really nice game another one just seven points, but he had six assists. He was a plus
sixteen. The only person better than that was Paul George. He was a plus seventeen. He was the only starter that was a positive in the plus minus category. But serge who had not scored all game, hit two huge clutch three pointers to start things off in the fourth quarter, when the Clippers were only up by two. They were feeling the pressure, and they felt that before when they were up by twenty two points. I believe it was early against the Lakers and they were up by twenty points or more. I
believe it was against the Denver Nuggets. Those leads would shrink and the Clippers would still play well down the stretch, show a lot of poise, and they would hold on to win, just like they did tonight after being up by as many as thirty one on the Phoenix Suns. I like these types of wins where you have to deal with some adversity and it's a bounce back after what happened Friday night in Utah were they were the ones who rallied back,
but they would come up just short. The Clippers were twenty and three after a loss last season. They're two and oh after a loss this season, and five and two overall, three and one on the road. Coming up, we will have my friend Lucas hand on the show. I think you guys know Lucas if you're on Twitter at all. He's one of the best Clippers reporters and analysts out there. We'll have him on. You'll hear
from PG thirteen. You know what, I don't want to make you wait any longer when he has a game like this with thirty nine points on fifteen to twenty four shooting. Here was Paul George post game on Fox Sports Prime Ticket. Take us in fine set, please after the shooting struggles that you had in Utah too tonight? Where was effortless? I mean, I love the looks that I got in Utah. Is it just some nights they don't fall? I was more so just happier with the way we played as a
tease tonight. I got the same looks. I was able to knock him down. Hey, Paul was up. Jimmy Jackson, listen, great game, player of the game. But I wanted to take it away after you got that last file right there at the end. That's not the way you wanted to fall out the basketball game. But I wanted I wanted to stand it. I wanted to stand it. Well, you got one back here in the poop. But what did it say about the team? You knew this Phoenix team is gonna fight, but yet and still you made some of
the defensive plays down the stretch of the game. Is that the identity that we're going to see from this Clippers team? Yeah? I mean, you know, if we if we're talking about having an opportunity to play for a championship, and uh, you know this is this is what it's gonna have to come down to. We're gonna have to figure out how to score, how to make plays, and you know, for what it is, the game is made on runs. We gotta be able to answer when teams go
on runs on us. And I think that's what it just comes down to. Especially playing out West, the games that you guys have played in have been truly bizarre because every game has had a twenty point lead. You guys have had the bulk of them with the five. I actually appreciated the fact that you were tested tonight. How far does that go to help you be in these situations? And and do you prefer just blowouts? I just feel like you grow more in moments like this. Uh yeah, we definitely grow
more playing in these tough games. They're they're greatly coached. You know, we knew this was going to be a team now I was gonna be scrappy and play hard. It's just good that we was able to answer the call. We brought it on both ends and uh we came out of here with a w. Paul. In that fourth quarter, things got a little shippy between you and CP three ship. You'd mind sharing a little insight into that. Man, I don't know. I don't know, Man, I had, I had. I had a tough year last year. Uh. People
think it's sweet, man. People think it's it's it's sweet because I was down. I had to hear none of this my ten years in the league. But last year, people living on that last year, and it's it's I gotta answer to that, you know, I gotta answer to that. I gotta be ready for that. And you know I'm I'm ready to compete. I'm back. You're racing it. One game at a time PG. Appreciate your time. Congratulations on the wind, appreciate it. Thank you guys.
There was Paul George on Fox Sports Prime Ticket with Jim Jackson and our friend Brian Seamen. There. The revenge tour for not just the Clippers, but also Paul George is in a effect. It's under way. People are popping off at him. They haven't forgotten about the bubble and Paul George said his play last year was unacceptable. Well, this has been very acceptable for
Clippers fans so far. He's playing like the guy who finished third in MVP voting and third in Defensive Player of the Year voting his last year in OKC. He's been that good. And this was his best game of the season when the Clippers really needed it because Kawhi Leonard struggled PG thirteen finishers with thirty
nine. While we have a moment, let's pause ten seconds for station identification here on AM five seventy LA Sports, this is LA Clippers Basketball, A five seventy KLAC Los Angeles, eight seven KYSR HD two Los Angeles and iHeart Radio station. Before we take a break here eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number and John in LA you're on Clippers top with Adam Oslin. Hi John, Hi, Adam, hows it going?
Analysis A couple quick things. The first thing is I was thinking about Marcus Morris and Nicholas Patum. It looks like coach Taylou has the tomb as a starter. I'm just worried that with the chemistry that we're building, Marcus Morris might affect that our altar and I wonder who he'll go with in the fourth quarter will be Batum or Morris once hopefully Marcus Morris gets back. And the second thing is a comment ad I'm just I see Paul George. I'm so
proud of him as a Clipper fan, longtime fans. I like how he's rebounding, and I just want the guys to back him up more. I felt like he's getting picked on or targeted by other players, and I was hoping Youbaka or Beverly or maybe even Lou would get him there and try to, you know, establish some order when he was getting picked on by Chris Paul and Devin Booker today, I just hope that our guys, maybe even Kawai could step in there. And just have his back because he's so vital
to our success. Thanks so much for taking my call, John, Thank you for the phone call. Well, if you watch that kurf fluffle, that little dust up, the extracurricular activity that happened after, I believe it was who was it who fell on I believe it was Payne who fell on
Paul George and the foul was actually called on DeAndre Ayden. He spilled onto him and Cameron Payne and from there things got heated in Phoenix for about a minute, and there was somebody that stepped in between and it was leatherface. It was. It was Kawhi Leonard with a mask on, which is asked to look even more intimilating than usual because of you know, he's one of the most physically imposing players in the league. But no, these guys have
his back. Remember what happened after. I believe it was Game four against the Dallas Mavericks in the first round last season in the playoffs, when Paul George was really struggling. The Clippers won, and Kawhi Leonard was asked, or maybe it was Game three then Kawhi Leonard was asked about Paul George and his struggles and he said we all got his back. These guys are gonna
pick each other up, these teammates. I think this locker room is going to get much closer than it ever was last season because I think Serge Ibaka is gonna help blend personalities because he's such a fun, love and lovable guy, but also good pickups like Luke Nard, and just the way they're winning early in the season where you heard Brian Seman mentioned it there, but in their five wins they have led by at least twenty points or more at one
time. They're playing together, they're moving the basketball in the assist numbers, and while they had just twenty four when I think they had seventeen at the half, they would finish with just twenty four assists. You know, we've
seen back to back games this year. In their last back to back of their first back to back of the season, when they took on the Timberwolves and then the Portland Trail Blazers last week, it was I think thirty two assists one night and then thirty assists the next night, and back to back contests that didn't happen all of last season, where they strung together two performances where they went for thirty or assists or more. That's impressive and that leads
to good chemistry and trust out there on the court. So not a concern that you know, nobody ran up like brandon Ingram back in the day when I think it was CP three and Gen Rondo got into that fight and threw a punch out of nowhere. That's not necessary. They were trying to de escalate the situation with Devin Booker and CP three and Paul George. But do not doubt that they have his back out there. Clippers win one twelve to one. ZO seven coming up. We'll get back to your phone calls.
Eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six sixty nine eight seven two five seventy Colin Ye with the Drake hit maybe my favorite Drake songs. I know it's a disc track against Meek Mill, but back to back very appropriate. Clippers looking for back to back wins. Their next contest comes up Tuesday back at Staples Center. Lucas Hand will be on with me next from

He'll be with us coming up next and we'll get back to your phone calls. A lot of backs on eight six six night seven two, five seventy AT and five seventy LA Sports. This is Clippers stock. I'm out of Maslin. I know that you've got to be a doug board. This ain't what she meant, but she told you to open

These are turning into classic. Hold on late. After extending a big lead early victories for the Clippers, they were up by as many as thirty one on the Phoenix Suns. They end up winning one twelve to one oh seven in Phoenix. You
are listening to Clippers talk. I'm out of Maslin eight six six, ninety eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy Jeff Dan Jose hold On. We'll get to you, but right now I want to bring on Lucas Han Dang it. It's hand and I already asked him that earlier in the DM when I slid in there earlier to ask him to come on with me. But follow him on Twitter at Lucas Jay Hand. That's two ends on the back end, although I bet he shoots first,
like Han, Lucas, thanks for doing this. I appreciate it. Yeah, absolutely, thanks for having me, Lucas, I thought considering Kawhi Leonard was obviously ice cold throughout the entire contest. It was shocking to see because we just don't see it very often with him. But this was PG thirteen's best game of the season when the stakes were at their highest, especially down
in the fourth quarter where he had seven of his thirty nine points. But you watched Paul George in what six games or seven games now in this young season. Does he look healthier to you? Yeah? I mean, he's
definitely shooting the ball better. And I don't know how much of that is a little bit of maybe early season momentum compared to something that's sustainable over seventy two games, but he really feels like, I don't know, there's a little bit of a different attitude to pg's gameplay earlier early on this season. Again, maybe that's just shots falling at a higher rate than last year. But the way he's impacted games defensively, I thought tonight, I thought against
Utah on Friday. I mean, he's really been, you know, the Clippers best players. Through seven games, he's been great. Yeah, on those shoulders, and he's talked about him and they look to be fully healed. Now. He does look like he's moving better than he has in a Clippers uniform. So far, seven of ten from distance, he's been hoisting them up from downtown. The Clippers overall were seventeen of twenty nine from three.
Lucas I was thinking they should shoot even more of them because at times this year we've seen them reach the forty mark, We've seen them average more three pointers than they were taking last season. I believe Paul George and the team as a whole could take more threes. I'm not saying Houston Rockets level, but even more on some nights when they're this hot. Do you think that's something that maybe develops as the year goes along. I agree with you.
I don't know if it's something that they'll go to because the Clippers this year have been really deliberate and how they run their offense right. So you see early in games, they run off ball screens, they get a guard switch on the Kawhi leonard, they establish Kawai in the post, and then
they play off of him as the night goes on. And when they get into a little bit of trouble like we saw him getting in some trouble tonight, they'll come out of time outs and go right back to that established him in the post, make the defense overreact to it, and then play off of him. I do think though, I mean a night like tonight where the three point shot is falling. Only taking twenty nine is a low number of attempts for an NBA team that's as hot as the Clippers were tonight.
And yeah, I think a lot of times people complain, like if a team is maybe struggling that they're taking too many threes, that they aren't working through their offense enough. The Clippers are working through their offense a lot. They're overpassing, they're overdriving. But you're really happy with those results early in the season because it means that things are working, and maybe you fall back
more on the jumpers as the year goes on if that's necessary. But the way that they're executing their offense so far this season through seven games, I think is better than they did at any point last year in the regular season or playoffs. My guest here on Clippers Talk is Lucas Hand follow him on Twitter at Lucas j Hann h n N. He covers the Clippers for two
one three hoops. Lucas I believe we were on the right side of history with Nicholas Patum and saying how much of a steal this could be for the Clippers getting him on the veterans minimum, him just being one year or move from shooting thirty nine percent from distance. He hits the biggest shot of the game, but he just fills in the gaps here and there, the cracks
in the offense. He just messes so well with this starting unit. Do you think, because we brought this up a little bit, that even when Marcus Morris comes back and a college has asked about this too, that there's a chance that Sarron Lew stays with Nicholas Patum or at least still plays him a lot late in games. Yeah, that's really interesting. It's it's hard for me to see it because of the way that the organization has invested in
Marcus Morris, right that four year, sixty four million dollar contract. I just don't know if you can go away from that guy in favor of a guy who's on a one year minimum deal. Because of seven games of play from Bibitum, even though he's been great, he's been the clippers third best player so far this season. But what we've also seen, I think is that tylu staggers his lineups a lot. One of Paul George or Kawhi Leonard
is always on the floor. He's switching around Lou Williams and Patrick Beverley at the guard positions. Luke Kennard comes in with the bench, but stays in with the starters, right, So there's a lot of flexibility to how he
manages his rotations. And so even if Morris, you know, goes into the starting lineup when he comes back, which is what I think will probably happen, but tomb is still going to get a lot of minutes, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Morris come out early for Tomb and batoumb plays a long stretch in the first quarter with the starters, and then Morris come back in to start the second with some of the bench guys to add a
little bit more physicality and offensive punch to that unit. So really, you know, I said this when the Serge Ibaka Ietsa Zubats debate was going on about, you know, search starting over Zoo. I don't really care who starts right. It matters that guys are getting the minutes that they need, that the team is playing lineups that makes sense and that work together. So I don't think it'll be an issue for Batomb to move to the bench.
He's still going to be getting twenty or more minutes a night if he still playing this well, it'll be a great problem to have. Luke Kennard also gets the contract extension. He had fourteen points, had thirteen of those in the first half when five of seven from distance. Look to be more aggressive out there in Phoenix in this game, but has still been inconsistent in that area and maybe where he fits in with this team even though they've told him
stand out, do your thing. He don't need to fit in. You're a really good player. How long do you think think it takes for him to really gain some consistency this season. Well, you know, you got have to keep in mind one of the one of the knocks on him in Detroit, if you will, where he was he was very good last year, was that he was at times a little too timid, a little too
passive. When he shared the floor with Blake Griffin, he would defer and not really you know, kind of make sure that he went and got his And I think that he's going to have to learn this year in a smaller role with the Clippers, still an important role, but not starting and playing thirty minutes every night, He's going to have to learn to be more aggressive and make sure that he goes and gets his eight or nine or ten shot attempts in the minutes that he has on the floor. Tonight, he was
more efficient, but he was still a little bit passive. But between that combination of adjusting roles and you have to remember, right, I'm sure you know you talked about it all the time that he took over a year between NBA games because of injuries and COVID and the Detroit Piston's not making the bubble, so he's working his way back into the field. You know, the flow of the game generally he's shaking the rust off from an injury and a
long layoff. He's adjusting to a new rule. So I'm I kind of have said that, you know, three or four weeks before I'm really going to start critically analyzing Luke Kennard's games. But yeah, he had a really nice night tonight. I thought you've done some wonderful analysis on this coaching staff
and specifically what they've done with Reggie Jackson the last week. It seems like he's back to playing his best basketball as a Clipper, because when they first picked him up, he was playing great and then his shot selection was a little bit more erratic. Inside the bubble, he had seven points but six assists as well. What have you seen from how Tehronto lou has used Reggie
Jackson really optimized him. Yeah, it's interesting, you know Reggie. Doc kind of talked really candidly in the bubble about Reggie, how there was good Reggie Knights and bad Reggie Knights, and that was about as blunt as Doc ever was describing one of his own players in the media. And I think it's It's absolutely true. Reggie is a very inconsistent player, often kind of feast or famine in terms of making explosive plays but then making some really basic
mistakes with the ball in his hands. Tonight, obviously, like you said, seven point six assists, no turnovers, This was very far on the
good and on the Reggie Jackson scale. But what I thought was interesting when I was taking kind of a look at his production through six games heading into tonight was that he kind of had three bad games where he fell into those traps and three slightly better games, And in the better games he played more in each of those games than he had in the three bad games combined.
So I think Ty has been really quick with Reggie to pull him when sittings start looking like they're going off the rails, and then kind of stick with him on nights like to night where he's playing well, and he played well into the fourth quarter before Patrick Beck really ended up coming back in. It just seems like Toronto Lou has been a wizard so far in this young season with adjustments and accountability. It just it feels very different, but it's good
to see. So it's good to have Lucas Hand on this show again. Follow him at Lucas Jay Hand two ends at the end On Twitter, he covers the Clippers for two one three hoops. Lucas, I really appreciate the analysis. Let's do this again soon. Thank you absolutely thanks for having me. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number before we break here, Let's go to Jose and Southgate. Jose, you're on Clippers stock with Adam Oslin.
How are you hey? Happy billions? I just want to say real quick, and I don't get a break, but he is losing a couple of ops. That is to call in a little more long time third time. I'm not trying to be everywhere. But besides the two making that veteran three, besides us losing another thirty point lead, I'm trying to stay focused.
I heard I heard Noah talking after a three set of Kaboom and the bulls Eye, So I just want to maybe you could, you know, comest to the grapevine and he's trying to find like a signature universus Rolph Lawler with his bingo. But shut out my Clipper fans. You know, we're the bill in La teen who should be going for the repeat but besides that, I love you guys. Let's go LA's go Clippers, all right, Jose,
thank you for the phone call. Uh. You know, Noah has a lot of great calls so far, but I was big on the kaboom for Kenard when you hit a three pointer in this game. That's one of my new favorites. I don't think i've heard Bully in the sandbox though so far this season. I'm still waiting for that eight six six, nine eighty seven two five seventy at the phone number. We'll coming back. We'll get
back to your phone calls. You'll also hear from the head coach, Torontolou after the Clippers go into Phoenix and hand them their first home loss with a one twelve to one oh seven victory in which Paul George had thirty nine points. You're listening to Clipper stock. I'm at a moslind and this is a

This is the official home of your LA Clippers, be and sup Bots de Nights on the Rim and the home of the Clippers Zu Box, the Jackson, the far side corner, Jackson Crossover, working on Galloway gets in the paint kicks it out Canard's open for an nearside corner three cup boom for Canard. Luke Canard finished with fourteen points. The Clippers finished off the Phoenix Suns late with a one twelve to one oh seven victory
in Phoenix. This is Clipper stock. I'm out of moslind eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy is the phone number. Let's go to Dan, the man from Diamond Bar. Damn, what are you doing? How are you doing? Man?
Well? And thanks? I was especially looking forward to the game tonight because of that player who read who wears number three on the opponent's jersey, Chris Paul, and in watching him play his style so familiar it can't I brought back to my mind all the talk and discussion after the bubble that why not bring back Chris Paul as your floor general, considered to be the best leader in the NBA, back to the Clippers? And I thought, is that
possible? And the guests you had on tonight lucas Hand did a detailed list of scenarios where it would have been financially possible to bring him back and keep Paul George, and I remember it was said also that Chris Paul left the Clippers on very good terms with Steve Bomber, that he would really like to play for a coach like Tylo, and Matt Barnes said, yes, Chris
Paul would be interested. He'd want another shot at winning an NBA title, And Stephen A. Smith said, if the Clippers pulled that off and brought that Chris Paul, now you've got an even situation. They would have a legitimate chance of beating the Los Angeles Lakers. So I don't Smith said it. I mean, come on, Dan, that's as good as goal. There you go, there you go. I'm not I'm not quoting Charles Barklay, but well maybe I did. He did. Charles Barkley did called Chris
Paul the best leader in the NBA. But I'd like to know, would I like to know from your guys point of view, what happened? What did you glean from what happened? Were the Clippers interested or not? I thought, well, if they did that, well they've had money to bring in Ibaka. You know, I don't know, but from what you can tell because you heard, you heard the discussion but I bring Chris Ball back.
Yeah, I heard the murmurs, and I appreciate the phone call, Dan, but I don't want to live in the past, like everybody talking junk to Paul George on the court right now if they're getting lit up. The Phoenix Suns landed CP three, and I think considering what they gave up for him, their trade package likely would have been better than what the Clippers had to work with, and it would have depleted so much of their bench they probably would have lost a Visa zoobots out of it. You don't want
to see that. And I like the way this team is constructed where they got playmakers all over the place and you don't know where the attack is coming from. Part of the problem, and usually it's a good problem to have, but it can limit you at times when you have one guy running the show, slow him down, you'll slow down the entire offense. We've seen
that at times with CP three in the playoffs with the Clippers. If you're able to lock him up, if you're able to corral him a little bit, that can have an effect throughout the entire team and throughout the entire offense. So look, they got Luke Kennard, and to me, when they made that move on Draft night, that was an indication that they like the
guys they have and they're going to get assists throughout the entire team. And nobody had more than six assists in this game, but they still finished with twenty four. I think nobody had more than seven assists when they had thirty two assists in that game a couple of nights ago. But when everyone's sharing the basketball, you don't know where the attack is coming from. And I
like that. It's like a cloaking device on this offense. So we'll see what the Clippers do if they have another trick up their sleeve with this front office before the trade deadline. But enjoy what the team's doing right now. And CP three will always have a place in Clippers fans hearts. He's one of the greatest Clippers of all time easily, of course. He helped change and transform this franchise and we wish him nothing but the best in Phoenix unless
they're playing the Clippers. And he had fifteen points on six of twelve shooting, also just had six assists. The Clippers did a good job on CP three in this one. Let's hear from the head coach Tehron Lou post game after the Clippers win one twelve to one oh seven over the How what'd you make of Paul tonight? I mean, he was so huge for you guys, But what did he kind of did a little bit of everything and and
what do you make of him this season? It seems like he kind of has something to prove and that after what happened last year, you know, guys are looking at a little different. No, he's playing great, you know, and I think to come on the road and play the way our guys did you know? Luke was great, Canard up the bench, O,
Reggie was really good. And then, like I said, if a Kawaia shoot four for twenty one and come into a situation where we you know, got out here with a win and it was big for us, you know, with PG playing the kind of basketball he's playing right now, he's in a good rhythm and a good own, so we got to do whatever we can to keep him there. Can we move over to Charlie hey coach, Obviously he made that big three, But how good has the tune been
for you guys? Nick's been really good? I think just his passion ability, his IQ and you see tonight we had him on Booker, we had him on CP, he got aiden. He's just very personal offense and defense. So he's very important to what we're trying to do. He's only only get more and more comfortable, and he was a great addition for us. He seems like he's kind of just always in the right place, which is
yeah. I think they kind of left him IQ and just knowing the game and how to play the game, and he really did a good job for tonight. Like you said, with that big three, let's move over to Justin Russo. Hey, coach, congrats on the win. A couple days ago you said that the benchmark for this team for turnovers is about twelve or thirteen a game, and tonight you had ten, and last game you also
had ten, and the one against Portland you had eleven. How proud are you of this team and their ability to take care of the ball over the last couple of nights and be able to win a couple of these games with the low turnover totals, you know, very proud of So we talked about and harped on, you know, like I said, the guy who are doing a good job of taking care of the basketball but also sharing the basketball as well. So when PG and Kawai and Lou and those guys are getting
into the paint and springing it out for threes, we're really good. You know. You know, I'm tough to beat, and so we can continue to attack the paint, getting get inside, you know, deep, and then still be able to make the right pass and right play without turning over. He's gonna be key for us, and like I said, the last three games have been good, it will move over to Andrew and Ti. Kawai has been so so honest with us about how how much he does not
like wearing that mask and how uncomfortable he finds it. Do you do you feel like that's affected his play? He isn't shot while the last couple of games he's done more than now acously had a great game rebounding and assisting in Utah. But do you feel like that's affecting his shot? You know? I talked to him about it, I think yes, yea two days ago, and he was just saying that it's uncomfortable, but it's hard to breathe
and I've never had to play with a mask before. So I really don't know what it feels like, but I could see how it could be uncomfortable. You gotta keep strapping it up. It could get foggy on you. So I really don't know, you know, But like you know, he was excited. Just told the guys, you know, way to step up for him tonight. And like I said, we got a lot of good play, especially for PG. So that's what our team wants to be about.
You know, we want to just next man up, you know, guys, be ready, you know, help your team, may help your partner and uh and move on with the wind. So we did that tonight. It's been like the man in the iron mask for Khi Leonard. It does look a little bit uncomfortable. Obviously, I'm not the one who has to wear it. He came onto the court not wearing it. I don't know if that was intentional or not, or he just forgot. But then
before the ball tipped off, he went and grabbed the mask. But to our last Colors point talking about CP three, one of the other issues is I don't think he's played more than seventy games in the season, more than once the last five years and he's thirty six years of age. And you just heard it. The Clippers in the last two games have had just ten turnovers in each game. They had just fourteen the game before that. They've been doing a better job taking care of the basketball since game one of the
preseason, where they had twenty seven turnovers in that first preseason game. But guys are getting more comfortable out there and considering the ball movement. And remember they're passing the ball about forty more times per game on average than they did last season. That's spectacular only having ten turnovers as they did tonight in their win over the Phoenix Suns. They win one twelve to one oh seven in
Phoenix. Coming up, we'll get back to your phone calls eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy Jeff and tarzanmazonline. All right, you'll hear from Jeff coming up, and we'll get you ready for Tuesday night when the Clippers are back at Staples Center. Taken on the In Antonio Spurs, one of Kauai's former teams. I expect him to have a pretty big bounce back game after going four for twenty
one. You don't see that very often. You don't see him go to the free throw line and miss two. That's a rarity. Have no doubt that Kawhi will bounce back and return the favor with Paul George throughout this season as well as PG picked up his teammate with thirty nine points. The Clippers win. They are five and two more Clipper stock next right here on the M five seventy year a sports intermission. This is the official home of your La Clippers. Be to suppots de dates on the rim and the home of
the Clippers back. It's the Paul again George working step back fifteenth Twitter. It's on the way. It's perfect right down the middle for Paul George, who was cooking with hot frieze today. Four George with thirty four. Paul George was close to perfect. He had thirty nine points on fifteen of twenty four from the field, seven of ten from distance. The Clippers go on to win by five over the Phoenix Suns by a final score of one twelve
to one oh seven. You know I was talking about Kawhi Leonard there offshooting game for him also, and he wasn't gonna be able to keep this up. But there's a crazy stat out there that Justin Russeau had earlier before the game. Who's a really good follow at fly by Night on Twitter for all
of Clipper Nation to go and follow Justin Russeau. But I believe the stat was that Kawhi Leonard through seventy three on court minutes so over the last few games, last three games, he hadn't had a turnover, and during that time he had seventeen assists. And he went another seventeen minutes in this game before having a turnover, so he went about about ninety minutes of on court time without turning the basketball over. He also had a big steal late in
the game and was playing center when Sir Jebacca got into foul trouble. The claw leatherface was protecting the paint. Welcome back into Clipperstock. I'm Atam Moslin eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy. Let's go to Jeff and Tarzana. Jeff, how are you like? I say, Adam, never a doubt, Never a doubt, Jeff, Happy New Year to you and your family. Adam. I was just curious. Marcus Morris hasn't played since stuff started the season. Did you think he might be more seriously injured than
they are stating because it's already been seven games. I don't. I think in all likelihood they're being overly cautious because I look back on this, but back in the twenty seventeen twenty eighteen season when he was with the Boston Celtics, they did the same thing at the start of the season knee soreness, stayed out the first I think eight to ten games of the season, then
came back in was fine. I'm not overly concerned with it at this point, Jeff, Okay, any other thing I like to know if this guy had a suggestion to bring back Chris Paul I noticed that Blake Griffin bought a home another home in Britain, would maybe they should bring him back. To Blake Griffin, who unfortunately was on the wrong side of a game winner by the Boston Celtics tonight with Jason Tatum. He's not even playing anymore. He
was out there tonight, but he doesn't look the same. Unfortunately, all the injuries have taken their toll on Blake Griffin's body. He just doesn't look like the same player. He doesn't have the same explosiveness even as he did a couple of years ago and his first season with the Detroit Pistons. It's really unfortunate. We still root for Blake Griffin. He's all time great Clipper, just like CP three. It's so funny when you stop him. Think
I was going over all the teams in the NBA. How many guys have left the Clippers and they still haven't won the championship? Did you ever nervous? Stab Adam One DeAndre George on the on the nets and stuff. It's a tough one to win, Jeff. Only one team does it every season. The Brooklyn Nets look like they'll be in contention this season, though, Jeff. I appreciate the phone call, and yes, happy New Year to
you and yours all. Right, before we get out of here, after the Clippers win one twelve to one oh seven over the Phoenix Suns, I do want to thank the Clippers organization, Noah Eagle, Brian Seamen, Ralph Lawlor. I do want to thank Lucas Hahn hand I did again, uh, Lucas hand for coming on a great debut here on Clippers Talk. We'll
have him on again soon. Great analysis from him. Big thanks goes to calling ye See Yeezy back in the Burbank studios my support system as I'm still on the mend here doing all right though, No no reason to have sympathy for me. No, don't worry about I'm good. I'm good until Tuesday night when the Clippers are taken on the San Antonio Spurs from Staples Center. Tip off to seven. We'll have Clippers countdown at six. I'm out of Moslin. We will talk to you then
