Time for a postgame. Look, it's your La Clippers. This is Clippers Locker Road, brought to you by Cedars Sinai, the official health partner of the LA Clippers, and by Patchonga, official travel casino of the LA Clippers. Breaking down today's action with the pre and post game voice. If you're La Clippers, they're locking in every game every night. Adam Osland, the Clippers fall one twenty one fourteen up north to the Golden State Warriors. Welcome

into your post game show. I'm Adam Oslin. Coming up. When we get to your final box score, we'll have Clippers talk as well. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight sixty six nine eight seven two fives seventy is the phone number. But first back to Chase Center and bash your radio voice of the Clippers in, Carlo Jimenez. Carlo, It's as

simple as this to me. The Clippers only scoring three points during about a six minute stretch from the end of the first quarter into that second quarter did them in. As you mentioned down eighteen, they just could never get over the hump to take a lead back into this one. They really couldn't add

him. And you want I mean, I just kept thinking back to the end of that Sacramento game where they had an opportunity to finish the deal early, get some rest, and instead Kawhi Leonard ends up playing thirty seven minutes Georgia to forty and hard it with thirty nine, and they just looked a little tired. I mean, they couldn't really go on a long run to come away with a win. It was a good fight from them, Like you mentioned, I love the energy to try to keep that game close,

but couldn't finish the deal. But you have another opportunity against this Warrior's team coming up on Saturday. We'll see if they can get some well needed rest and come away with those Mattine wins, as you know, are tough for this Clippers team. Yeah, they got to get the get back against these

Warriors. But Paul George just started off this game one of nine encouraging shots the rest of the way, as he ended up going five for his next nine to end the ball game, knock down a big three three pointer to bring it to within six late and just hoping he can shoot himself out of this mini funk he's got going right now. Yeah, he was so excellent to start the season, averaging almost thirty points through the first seven through his last seven games, and then it's kind of ran into a wall as of

late. And you hope PG can get it going because look, like you said, at him, this seems finding the distribution. The shots are even for Harden, for Leonard, for George and dare I say Russell Westbrook might have played one of his best games this season with his energy off the bench. These guys know their roles. It's just about executing that the rest of the way. Yeah, going back to the Mavericks game, really Russ is

starting to settle in coming off the bench. And to your point, he was fantastic down the stretch six assists to zero turnovers and really helped orchestrate some of the offense. But the Clippers had thirty seven points in the fourth quarter. Problem was they just couldn't get enough stops on the defensive end. And that I want to say ten straight points from Klay Thompson for the Golden State Warriors. That may have been a little bit of an early dagger in that

he's the most dangerous microwave in the NBA. He's the only guy to score thirty seven points in a single quarter, So I think that's that lets gives you that kind of recognition, And the Warriors just couldn't get a hand up to play the offensive rebounding. You mentioned it at him, but it killed them today. I mean, Golden State had fifteen second chance points and every single one felt like a big bucket down the stretch. We'll see if the

Clippers can sure that up. That is how the Warriors play basketball. They're second in the NBA in offensive rebounds per game. Clippers got to do a better job of boxing out. Yeah, but as you mentioned, you know, on a second night of a back to back twice now we've seen Kawhi Leonard look fantastic. And going back to that Lakers game, which was the second night of a back to back, where he had thirty eight tonight,

very efficient nine of seventeen twenty three points played thirty five minutes. You got to be thinking positive about where Kawhi Leonard is at this early in the season. Now, it seems like he's really turned a corner athletically over the past couple of games. Yeah, he had, he seems to get his legs under him. He seems to be able to get to the rim a lot and attack the rim fearlessly. He's getting his own shot. It's fun to watch him in the post working in the mid range, that slow, methodical

move getting to his spot. I mean, Kawhi Leonard looks excellent. That's the great news about all of this, Adam. I think what is so much fun to watch this team is they have opportunities to get better and the things that are holding them back are things they can work on. And at the end of the day, that's all you can really ask out of your team. Can you continue to make improvements? And the Clippers have that opportunity as this season goes along. They're not being held back by things outside of

their control, no doubt. Clippers fall tonight one twenty to one, fourteen up north. They'll see the Golden State Warriors Saturday afternoon. A little home and home action. Clippers will be hosting the Golden State Warriors from Crypto tip off is that one? Well if Clippers countdown Saturday at noon, Carlo Jomenez A great call as always, We'll see you on Saturday, my friend. Oh see Dowt today animal So the Clippers can continue that revenge tour. Get

some GIF back. Clippers need it. They fall tonight by six to the Warriors. More Clippers postgame next right here from the Los Angeles Clippers Audio Network. The LA Clippers continue their hunt for a Lario B. They still want to get that Lario beat. Don't miss a moment all season long. This is the LA Clippers Audio Network. Clippers lose by six on the second night of a back to back to the Golden State Warriors. Welcome back into your

postgame show. I'm a maslin. This is Clippers' locker room. Final score Golden State one twenty, Clippers one fourteen. They're running back in Los Angeles Saturday afternoon. Clippers ended up shooting just forty four percent from the field. They were better in the second half. Unlock their offense more twenty seven points in the third quarter, thirty seven in the fourth, twelve of thirty two

from distance. Overall, that's thirty eight percent. And while they ended up with fifteen offensive rebut some of it came too little, too late, or they were off of missus and kind of stab padding when it beats Zubats misses a couple and then finally gets one to go not faulting big zoo at all though for this one thought he was fantastic. Thought he could have got a

few more touches as he was dominant eighteen and thirteen. He had a double double in the first half, seven of eleven shooting, once again punishing the opposition after locking up some bonus on well yesterday time Flies, Clippers ended up being led by Kawhi Leonard. He had twenty three on nine of seventeen shooting. The efficiency is coming around from him after a game where he went two

for twelve recently. Paul George, though a bit of a shooting funk over the last three, started this ballgame one for nine, was two for eleven entering the fourth quarter, and then started to turn it on a little bit. He finished six of eighteen, did knock down a big three pointer to bring it to within six. Clippers, as I said earlier, could not get over the hump. PG finished six for eighteen, three of ten from the three point line, just fifteen points, but ten assists to one turnover.

It's not like he wasn't doing other things. He locked up Darijo sarch on a possession, just off with the shot, and it was that stretch of about six minutes from the end of the first into the second quarter, where the Clippers had just three points over just about a six minute stretch that would lead to Golden State getting up by eighteen, and the Clippers just simply couldn't overcome that. Russell Westbrook, though fourteen points five of thirteen, loved

the hustle late, eleven boards, six assists, one turnover. James Harden did knock down five three pointers five of ten from the outside, hit a couple early, and I believe one in the fourth quarter. Eighteen points on six of thirteen shooting, so some overall efficiency and hey, Terrence, Man, I know it was an inconsequential three late. I hope it's not for

him individually. He's gotta find his rhythm from the outside. Missed his first three knock down that one at the very end of the game to bring the Clippers to one fourteen. I'm hoping there's something there because right now it's just in his head. Everything else though he does is great, of course, five boards. The defense finished with nine points. Clippers fall one twenty to

one, fourteen up north to the Golden State Warriors coming up next. More post game and we'll have clipperstock for you on AM five seventy LA Sports eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy. I'm out of Mouslin and you're listening to the Los Angeles Clippers. Are you know? LA Clippers basketball is odd? The two one three era continues. You're listening to the LA Clippers on the LA Clippers Audio network.

Gon Clippers lose one twenty to one fourteen to the Golden State Warriors as the shooting just wasn't good enough. The execution wasn't good enough defensively either. Down eighteen first, it was the offense failing them. Though the defense was okay in the first half. That's not why they got down eighteen. They just couldn't get points. There were some interesting lineups. Kobbe Brown got run

just six minutes. Looked like the game was moving too fast for him, if I'm being honest, had a couple of bad fouls, one on Klay Thompson shooting a three pointer. Clay had a day or night, finished with twenty two, but at one point scored ten straight for Golden State late in this one, and I think that was the early dagger Clippers battled. I like the way they competed a loss, nonetheless, but can't tell me this isn't different than what we saw against the Denver Nuggets. They have played that

hard or this hard against them. On Monday they win their game, So some positives, but Clippers eight and ten right now, they got to win on Saturday return the favor. They'll be hosting Golden State. Tip time for that one's at one. Well, I have Clippers countdown for his starting at noon outside of Los Angeles. We are leaving you until then, but up next on se LA Sports, we got Clippers Talk. right now your host on your home for the Clippers. They were in attack mode Adam Osley Clippers shooting wills early and defensive struggles late would do them in up North at Chase Center against the Golden State Warriors, they fall by six one, twenty to one. Fourteen is your final. Golden State improves now to nine and ten as the Clippers drop to eight and ten. Welcome in

to Clippers Talk. I'm out a Moslin to eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy and while we have a moment, let's pause ten seconds for station identification. Here on AM five seventy LA Sports, this is LA Clippers Basketball. AM five to seventy KLAC Los Angeles ninety eight seven KYSR HD two Los Angeles and iHeartRadio station. A couple different ways to look at this one. While I like the fight

from the Clippers late, it was a little too late. Paul George started to knock down shots finally in the fourth quarter, but he can't start two for eleven. That's just brutal, and I was through the first three quarters. So after that, he ended up going four for his next seven in the fourth, including a big three pointer to bring it to within six. The Clippers lose by six, though they couldn't get stops on the other end.

They tried a lot of different combinations out there. It was a spirited effort on the second night of a back to back, and if you are the optimist, you're saying, oh, Kawhi looks good. Second straight game where he looks the lead again. Twenty three points on just seventeen shots played thirty five minutes, second night of a back to back. Paul George with thirty seven, hopefully shooting himself out of this mini funk that fourth quarter.

Need to see that carry over to Saturday. James Harden hit some big shots, was efficient, eighteen points on just thirteen shots. Russell Westbrook was huge for them in the fourth quarter as they were trying to mount a comeback as Klay Thompson was making some really tough shots and I thought probably won the game in this one for the Golden State Warriors with the ten straight he scored for them early in the fourth keeping the Clippers at bay. As Steph Curry,

you know, he had twenty six on fifteen. It's efficient, but he only made eight shots. He didn't take that many. It wasn't a Steph Curry explosion. Draymond Green though in that first quarter, I wanted to say, he had eight points to knock down two three pointers, and I know he's talented, but he looked like twenty sixteen Draymond Green on offense tonight. That was frustrating to see. They dared him to shoot it the only two shots he made, or excuse me, in the first quarter at least he

went two to four. They dared him to shoot the three like Golden State does with Russell Westbrook, and he hit two of them and had eight points. Russ, on the other hand, had a corner three off a nice feed from Paul George, who did have ten assists to just one turnover. You cannot discount that. If your SHOT's not working, if the shots aren't falling for you, if you don't have a rhythm, find another way to contribute. I thought he did, but man, Russ unfortunately couldn't get that

three points to go. He was zero for three from the outside. And I said, at the time, you know, why is Russ taking that shot? As I have the play by play live, it's ahead of the video. Once I saw it and saw how open he was, he kind of had to take it. That's just what it is. It's a wide open look in the corner where he does shoot about forty percent on three pointers.

It was one oh seven, one hundred that could have brought it to within f people were at the three point thirty six mark of the fourth quarter. This is what's gonna eat at you a little bit. As much as I thought Golden State would be focused and ready after blowing twenty four point lead to the Sacramento Kings Tuesday night, they weren't that good. They were beatable

tonight. They were two and eight in their last ten games. They didn't have Andrew Wiggins, they didn't have Gary Payton, the second, they didn't have off the bench in this one. Who else am I thinking they were missing? They were down a few different guys, and the Clippers they really couldn't take advantage of that. Even with Norman Powell playing, and I didn't think he looked right, although he had a little bit of a run early in the first half. Hey good to see Bones Island get a shot.

Didn't work, but got in some meaningful minutes. I've been asking for that, I said postgame last night. Now this was dependent on whether or not normOn Powell will be able to play tonight, and he played eighteen minutes but just took two shots, had five points, was a minus thirteen. I didn't think he'd be able to go. It turned out to be a knee

contusion. That's a relief. That's a blessing after we looked to be a really dangerous fall by him, after Harrison Barnes fell into his leg lower extremity injury. You never want to see that. I was concerned. I was no. CP three tonight for the Golden State Warriors. They're down three guys. Andrew Wiggins a late scratch and I thought, you know what, the Clippers could steal this one. I knew there'd be some tired legs. They scored one fourteen, but they shot just forty four percent. It was really

just that first half. It was a six minute stretch where they just couldn't find any offense. And I'll tell you exactly where it was. After Kawhi Leonard has a dunk at about the three minute mark of the first quarter, at the three twenty three mark, to be specific, and the Clippers are up twenty one to twenty from then until let's say it's the nine minute mark of the second quarter. Yeah, the nine to twenty six mark. They had three points, three points, and about the span of six minutes.

Guys on the court, they were trying Daniel Tice, next to Kobe Brown, next to Russell Westbrook, and I believe Norman Powell and Paul George were in there too, and Paul George for him to go through that shooting stretch during that period after Kawhi looked really good in the first quarter, after hard knockdown a couple of three pointers, Paul Joey just has to find his shot get to the basket. I've been praising him for how aggressive he's been,

and all the numbers tell you he's been in attack mode. But I thought he was settling a little too much. Granted some of those shots were wide open, wide open three pointers not falling for him. Again, he found it a little bit in the fourth quarter, six of eighteen overall, but four of seven in the final period. But that stretch into the first into the second, the Clippers go from being up one what I was talking about there, to eventually down by eighteen with a score of I want to say,

forty eight to thirty two. Well that's sixteen, end up being fifty three to thirty six after a Moody two point shot. But you just can't go a stretch that long without scoring. And even when they put the starters back in in the second quarter, I was frustrated. They weren't running it through James Harden. They weren't finding and Viatza Zubots enough. After he came out hot and you could see he had it going and the Golden State Warriors

didn't have many answers for him. Big Zoo had a great ball game eighteen and thirteen, seven of eleven from the field, and he's been dominant since this new starting lineup with Terrence Man out there. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it. They weren't stopping him. Zubots had six points and two boards in the first quarter. They fed him some more. He ended up with eleven points and six boards by the half, but he was five of six from the field. Get him the basketball, feed the pig.

That's what Doc Rivers used to say. Whenever there was a mismatch. You could exploit over and over again until they make the adjustment. Keep running the offense that way, and that means James Harden should be involved too. And he went a long stretch of time without taking a shot, without the offense flowing through him. It's pin effective. And that second quarter, well, they made it a little bit of a run towards the end of it.

As James knocked down a three pointer to end the second to get it back to within eleven, the damage was done. You're in an uphill battle. You can't get down eighteen. You can't play Kobe Brown if he looks like that. They wanted to give him minutes. They wanted to give him an opportunity. I understand the logic there, and to coach Lowse credit, he only gave him six because he didn't look good. He ran through his screen foul, he found Klay Thompson on a three pointer. Just over zealous on

the perimeter defense. There, you're in the headlights. Young player to be expected. But my point would be this, you have to win ball games right now. Can they really be experimenting with a rookie. I get you need fresh, young legs, but if the game's moving too fast for him, I don't know. Didn't look good last night against Sacramento. Either had a twenty four second violation. Yeah, he knocked down one three pointer. He ended up attempting one missed it in this game, minus six in his

six minutes. They got to be by a point per minute when he was out there in the court into the first quarter, into the second. I think Terrence Man came in for him pretty quickly after Coach lu saw just wasn't working. I'll see what happens moving forward with him. Look, I love the idea of Kobe Brown in a position of need for this Clippers team right now. If PJ. Tucker just basically refusing to shoot three pointers, he's become a zero on offense. He's just stopped taking shots. So we got

a DMP the last two games. The defense it's still there for the most part, but it's got to be matchup dependent with him. We thought, oh, maybe he'll get in because of Draymond Green, but Daniel Tice was the better option if Easa Zubas was playing well. Kobe Brown didn't look great. I understand the move, but you lose a game by six and he's a minus six and his six minutes out there and a part of that just brutal stretch where the Clippers can not find any offense. I'm not putting it

all on him. Paul George got to hit shots and if they're not falling from the outside, even if they are wide open, just get to the damn basket. He's been so good in that air. The Warriors are not a big ball club. You see Dario sarz in the post barbecue chicken, as Shack would say, go after him. But he was missing layups early. He finally got one to go high off the window off a nice hardened pass, and then the second half got it going a little bit midy.

Early in the fourth a three off of Russ rebound to bring it to within six. But if Paul George shoots the ball better tonight, I think the Clippers come away with the w Just don't get down eighteen. Don't get down twenty one in the first half. Against the New Orleans Pelicans, that's what keeps you from getting over the hump. I want to say the Clippers had it to within four in the second half. I think it was close last Friday, about a week ago against the Pelicans the same thing. They had

it to about four, but they couldn't get over the hump. So a disappointing loss because even though it's the second I have a back to back. Kawhi look good, Harden looked good overall, could have been better defensively. They weren't hunting him down the stretch. Steph Curry did get that big layup

late on James Harden. But if Viza Zubats really solid ball game, I thought Russ in the fourth quarter, especially with that play where he just levitated in the air to find Ivitza Zubats, who got it to go, was hitting the face, I thought by Draymond Green, they looked at it for a flagrant, and I think Carlo Jimenez was right. He didn't end up getting hit in the face, just a common foul. But Russ was throwing some dimes out there and had six offensive rebounds. My god, Clippers had

fifteen as a team. Russ had six and almost threw down a ridiculous dunk, couldn't get the foul, and the Clippers had just six turnovers. Another game where they're taking care of the basketball. They're doing a much better job of that the last two ball games. I think they had seven turnovers yesterday. There's positives, there's always things you can look at and say, Okay, they are getting better and eventually some of these losses will turn into wins

if they continue to trend this direction. But you are eight and ten. You got to get yourself out of this hole. They couldn't afford to lose six straight games during the softest part of the schedule, So they got to win Saturday against Golden State, and then I believe it's three days off and then the Denver Nuggets may be fully loaded next Wednesday. At Crypto dot com

arena. You want to talk about a get back game where you let one get away against Reggie Jackson and DeAndre Jordan in just one of the most embarrassing, really pitiful performances by the Clippers in the two to three era. They redeemed themselves to some degree. What happened to Sacramento the focus there? They look great tonight. I thought they competed, they played hard, They just

didn't execute well enough. But they got three losses this season that are just inexcusable so far that they have to get back, and they're gonna have to do so, likely against a fully loaded Denver Nuggets team next Wednesday. Hey, maybe that'll get their attention. Because they seem to play down to their competition. On Monday against Reggie Jackson DeAndre Jordan, Clippers lose. They fall one twenty to one fourteen up in Golden State. They will host the Warriors

Saturday back at Crypto dot Com Arena. Coming up next, I'm gonna bring in the coach. I've been wanting to do this for years. Ricky g the og NBA analyst on Twitter, been watching the league since sixty eight, and he'll let you know it. Uncomfortable truths coming your way. Golden State one twenty TI one fourteen. They'll run it back in so Cal Saturday. Tip off for that one's at one pm from Crypto dot Com Arena. We'll have your pregame show starting at noon. Excited about this though long time coming, joining the show. Somebody that a lot of you, including myself, look up to on Twitter. He's made a name for himself with keeping it old school, but also just telling the truth the way he sees

it. Not everybody likes it. There's some uncomfortable truths. But I'm talking about coach, and I'm talking about Ricky g at J. Richard Goodman on Twitter is where you find him. He has been in the game at all levels for what over fifty years? Here, Coach, how are we doing tonight? I appreciate you coming on Clippersock. I'm doing good. We got a little bumper music with Tupac. Oh okay, Oh, Coach is down with that? Okay. I liked Hey Tupac from Oakland, I think originally.

So that's right. There we go, there we go. Now, how did you interpret this victory for the Golden State Warriors? Because you know this team well, this is the team that you have been following. You are a fan, but you will critique them when they don't look right. To night though, after that loss of the Sacramento Kings, I see it as the Clippers going through a long stretch of a drought from the end of the first quarter into the second where they just couldn't score. But also Klay

Thompson ten straight at one point early in that fourth quarter. He looks to be better recently. What's the state of the Golden State Warriors and just how they came through with this ball game in this win? Very simple turnovers tonight Warriors had seven. If you don't turn the Warriors over. That the Warriors Achille Hill is turnovers and foul They fought too much and they turned it over,

and tonight they didn't do that. They didn't turn it over. And if you're if they beat you on the glass, they shoot a pretty decent percentage. Now, you guys, look, what is it, five game, seven nights back to back. I think you guys are missing some lakes. Tonight you didn't shoot the ball well early if you look at the plus minus, which you know I don't like. But if we're gonna look at this to night. If we're going to look at that tonight, the Warriors

starters don't have the good plus minus. It's the second unit. Yep, they hurt you. It was the second unit that hurts you. Guy. It's been like that, coach. I gotta say, this new starting lineup with the Clippers with James Harden next to Terrence Man has been fantastic. All the numbers say that. And Terrence Man was a plus thirteen in a game they lose by six. But you're right. The bench, the Golden State Warriors bench, and I think they had twenty plus turnovers against Sacramento, So

yeah, a great point. They didn't turn the ball over tonight. They had forty four runovers the last two games. Report tonight no had seven. WHOA, Okay, that's a little bit extreme. I know you guys like to move to the basketball, but typically you take care of it a little bit better than that. Is Klay Thompson coming out of a funk? Is that what it is? Has he fallen off? Is he washed? Because I think he's looking much better over the last week or so. Clay and

Wiggans balls that picked it up recently. It's you know, it's an ongoing conversation up here. It's you know, I feel bad when he has bad games. He's under a microscope and they want him on the greyhound bus the next morning. With the Wiggins. It's tough on him and he's you know, he's playing for a contract. He's he's planning to to get back,

and he had times shot hunts and forces it. But I thought tonight, I thought tonight he was the one to beat you because he made some key buckets when every time you got it within eight six, it seemed like Clay went on a run a little bit. Yeah, Ricky Gears our guest here postgame after the Clippers fall by six to the Golden State Warriors up North, final score one twenty to one fourteen. Ricky g a legend. He doesn't need your thread. You come on to his to try to make a name

for yourself on Twitter. So, Coach, what's the big picture here with this Golden State Warriors team. I know you've been a little bit down on them. They don't have a ton of size, they have small guards. You don't like that. Is this a team that's on their last legs in terms of this championship window? Where it just doesn't look like they can be in that upper echelon in the Western Conference to you or do you still think they got enough juice with Steph Curry if he's healthy, that they can make

some noise. Well. To fix the Warriors situation, to get would they want to get, they got to do a few things. One, take care of the basketball. Two, they have to guard point of attack. See the Warrior's strength. Everybody talks about the Warrior's size and not having rim protection. The warriors rem protection is no straight lighting drives, and until they fix that, they're going to struggle because they are small at the perimeter and

they're not the quick at guards. So if you're small, slow, you're going to run into troubles. But if they can fix the point of attack, take care of the ball, as long as you have Steph Curry, you're going to have a shot. Yeah. The Clippers had fifty eight points in the paint tonight, which is a great number for them. Unfortunately, they just weren't good enough offensively in the first half and the Warriors went up

by eighteen, and the Clippers were in that uphill battle. So I want your outsider perspective on the Clippers, and if you want to throw some questions back at me, we can go back and forth on this. But where were you when they brought in the James? When they brought in James Harden on the trade, how did you feel about it? Russ? Coming off the bench? Now, do you think this is a team that is just going through that learning curve, some struggles, maybe a step back to take

two steps forward. They are five and three with this new starting lineup, and a lot of the numbers say they are elite on both ends. Now with their starters, you know, the members say you guys are a good defensive team. My eyes want to push back on that. But I thought tonight the Clippers did a lot of ball watching off ball. I thought the Warriors got a lot of extra opportunities and a lot of easy buckets because the week's I was ball watching and that might be fatigue back to back, I

don't know, but that's when I want to see salary. Do they correct that? Did I want? Would I have made the James Harden trade? No? I would not, But I understand why you did move it because the problem with the Harden trade from where I sit is him and us playing together. Yeah, but you got to make a decision. Tylu wants to play with Pace, but yet he don't want to play him together. And

I don't know how you play Pace up Temple without Russ. But it seems like on offense, I see a lot of isoball and I'm not sure that's gonna word, but maybe it will in the playoffs. See the Writer's season playoffs. Two different games, so we have to be kind of careful where we go. Now. I'm not an ISO guy, so I don't know, but I think I think the Warriors and the Clippers both have the same issues. Can they guard point of attack? Can they play up Temple and

get the three balls off? Yeah? I look the Clippers before the last couple of games, they just hadn't shot it well from the outside. Uncharacteristically, this is a team that has been top three, I think in three point percentage over the last couple of seasons. They've been elite in that area, and I don't know if it's just fluky bad shooting or what. They ended up shooting thirty eight percent in this game. They some fire late,

but guys like Terrence Man, he's been struggling from the outside. He's been turning down shots. They can be much better. Paul George struggled to the point tonight where you can just say, oh, that lost you the ball game. He went six for eighteen, and he was in during that stint with the second unit where they just went scoreless or just had three points over about a six minute stretch. That did him in. But I agree with

you. I think the Clippers, you know, they always talk about get to the paint and kick it out, paint and spray and get the defense in rotation, and that's when they're at their best. Are there any similarities there with Golden State? Well, Golden State doesn't get two feet in the paint like the Clippers. Can't see Harden could Harden can't get two feet in

the paint now. He doesn't do it with the bursts and explosiveness and go all the way to the cup like he used to, but he can get to two feet in the paint on the mind range for the floater or or the pass. Well, where's have no impression. We just don't have it now. Wigans maybe can give us some here recently, but the Warriors don't get two feet of paint and That's that's another thing that Warriors need to fix because Chris Paul doesn't beat nobody off the bounce and he's not getting two feet

in the paint. Now with your squad, you got Kawhi can get two feet in to paint. You got hard and get two feet in the paint. You got Resku and get two feet in the paint. And I think Paul George maybe at times, but that that might be where they need time to work that out. I just don't The Clippers don't look cohesive to me. It seems like Martin will take his dribbles, try to beat his man. Now I'll go over here, and he goes over here to Kuhi.

He'll take his drills, but now I'll go over here to Pull. That's where I think I see issues with him right now. On options. Yeah, and some of that to me is understandable. When you bring in somebody like James Harden, it's going to take time. That is a huge piece to integrate into your into your offense. But to me, to maximize this Clippers team, it's having James Harden as the third option and also just running pick and roll and spamming that over and over again because he beats a zoom.

Are starting to get much better with it, and that's just something the Clippers late in games. You mentioned the ISO ball. They go to that far too often where they just rely on Kawhi Leonard and Paul George taking tough shots. Now, we've seen a few times with James Harden where when he's in control, they get much better looks and just running that pick and roll, it's almost like three points. I love saying that with him because he's

so devastating with it. But the Clippers are still adjusting to it, and there have been some wonky field goal attempts all over the place where it's hard to keep everyone in rhythm. You know, you don't touch the ball for five straight possessions something like that, it's hard to keep guys engaged. Now, I don't put that on Paul George for not touching the basketball enough tonight. I just think he was off. But let me ask you this.

Ricky g is our guest here on Clippers Talk after they fall by six up north to the Golden State Warriors. What have you seen from Kawhi Leonard tonight, Because there were some murmurs after the game Monday night against the Denver Nuggets, Kawhi attempted twenty six shots. He hit ten of them, and he just didn't look like he had the same explosiveness. But the last couple of games, I mean, he dunked on Jervale McGhee, and tonight, even on a back to back, I thought he showed a lot more bounce out

there. What have you seen from Kawhi? Well? Do you know it's funny about that? During the Denver game, I tweeted as he lost his bounce, his movement looks bad. And then last night I watched him and he had bounced and he looked good. So maybe it's a game to game, day to day situation with him. Sometimes he looks like he's in mine and sometimes he's got bounce. Now, I want to ask you a question. All right, did Powell play tonight limited minutes eighteen and he just took

two shot attempts. He was out there during that run where they went cold. He was a ghost. Yeah, you can't have that because he's your up temple. He's the one who's supposed to change that temple. He was a ghost tonight. I'll say this for Norman Powell I thought Harrison Barnes rolled up on him last night and he left the game and went to the locker room, and it looked like a significant knee injury at first, and it turned out just to be a knee contusion, so it may have been that

affecting him. But two shots not aggressive enough. I did like the fact that they gave Bones Highland a look finally, because against Golden State you can play smaller. You don't have to worry too much about going three guards out there. And I want to see more from Bones Highland. I don't know what you've seen from him coach and his time in Denver and his time with the Clippers, but this is a guy that pushes pace and he'll pull up

from anywhere he's got. He's got unlimited range and confidence. He actually I'm not saying he's Steph Curry or anything of that like that or a long loss splash brother, but this is somebody who likes to shoot it often from distance. I like Bones and I think lowing with him tonight to just for what you just said, to get paid. See one thing I'm concerned about the Clippers team again. You're like my Warriors team. You guys, where's your speed? Do you have any speed? You know Lou wants to play up

Temple Well, unless it's us who you playing up Temple with? I don't wonder Paul George could play up Temple well. I hope you don't have to wonder about that too much. I mean early in the season when Russ was starting, they certainly were playing faster. But it sounds like from Coach Lou,

it's not necessarily just getting up the floor fast. It's movement in the half court and just making quicker decisions out there and keeping the defense off balance, because that's what Kawhi Leonards looked like more so the last two games. In fact, coming off the Sacramento game last night, Coach Lou said he made some of the quickest decisions he has seen in his four years as the head coach, where he wasn't waiting for the double team to come and then

kicking it out to someone else. He was attacking beforehand, because look, him being selfish can be unselfish because it helps the team when Kawhi Leonard's being aggressive out there. So I get what you're saying. And on a night to night situation, especially on the second night of a back to back. The Clippers have looked slow at times. I didn't think they looked too slow though tonight against Golden State. I didn't think that wasn't necessarily the issue so

much is just some poor shooting. Well, well, you can't look too so against going to stay because we're not quick. Even that's fair. I like the parallels you're bringing up here, Coach. It's it's it's there are a lot of To me, there are a lot of mirror of each other. I think what Tyl Loo's talking about about pace, I think he's talking about when you're going from free throw line to other free throw line in transition. I think he's talking less dribbling in a basketball. Yeah, no,

that's totally fair. They're trying to push it up the court longer outlet passes. James Harden has been very good with some of that, and to Russell Westbrook's credit, six assists, a zero turnover tonight, and making the extra pass and making the right play more often than not, playing within himself. I don't mind the ballgame from either of those guys, but Golden State they get the victory one twenty to one fourteen over the Clippers coach, unless you've

got one more for me. I got to take a break here, but I appreciate you coming on. It's Ricky G. I appreciate you having me on. I'll see you Saturday. All right, Saturday, let's go. Sounds good, should be a good one. At crypto dot com. Thank you, Adam, Thanks coach. He's at j Richard Goodman on Twitter. One of my favorite follows. A wealth of information. One of those guys

that you know, forgotten more basketball than I'll ever know. Coming up next, back to your phone calls eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy. We will hear from coach lou After the Clippers lose one twenty one fourteen up north of the Golden State Warriors. They run it back at Crypto dot Com Arena Saturday tip off at one. I'm at a Mosland and you're listening to a five seventy LA Sports.

The LA Clippers continue their hunt for a laryob. They still want to get that Lario beat. Don't miss a moment all season law. This is the LA Clippers Audio Network. This one eats at you a little bit clippernation just because they fought. This didn't execute well enough. You could say it's just tired legs. We talked with coach Ricky G earlier. He brought that up there on the second out of a back to back. This was game five in a five and seven stretch, and I think all that's fair.

But if Paul George just plays like himself and really hasn't over the last three games, I think the Clippers get the victory. Not putting it on one guy. Just know he's one of your superstars. He can play much better than this. Offensively, he had plenty of good looks, just couldn't get him to fall still though, ten assist to one turnover like that. Clippers got some new starting lineup data out after playing. Oh god, that was a mess. I tried to tweet it out and you know, sometime were

just it doesn't look flush, it doesn't look pretty. I gotta do this again. I got a screenshot this all over. But starting lineup was still good. As Ricky G pointed out, they didn't lose the ball game. Was it on them? They played well together. Let's hear from the head coach though, Toron Lou after the Clippers fall up north one twenty fourteen to the Golden State Warriors. Post game, yes, try Steph. You only only wound up ten to fifteen shots. It seemed like the team tried to

focus on containing him. What were you trying to just do defensively and how do you feel like you were able to execute him on that? And for tonight, just try to keep miss out of three point line, you know, not let him get a lot of threes off. And then I thought of the second half, as we talked about before the game. We did a good job getting to the paint, finishing you know, around the basket

with some tough finishes. But you know, overall, I thought, you know, we were up, we were up a little bit and Draymon's at the five. When Jaymon got behind us defensively, it was tough. Put a lot of pressure on our defense and so that was tough to see. So we just got to, you know, be able to correct those things. On Saturday, we well, they gotta do coach like that, Well, they gotta cut them off? Did I cut off Ricky g You know, why are they cutting off? Coach? Lou Clippers fall by six,

but here are the numbers. Clippers now in eight games with this new starting lineup with James Harden next to the Terrence Man in the backcourt, they're shooting fifty two percent from the field and forty two percent from three. That that is good. That is very good if you want the advanced numbers. Offensive ratings at one twenty three point five for reference. Uh, the best team in the league offensive rating wise is the Indiana Pacers. They're at one twenty

two. They're offensive rating Clippers almost at one twenty four. That new starting lineup, defensive rating at one hundred, best defensive rating in the league, Minnesota Timberwolves at one oh six. Clippers that starting lineup one hundred net rating plus twenty three point one, telling you the starters were good enough tonight. The bench tough one. I thought Daniel Tie had his moments, but overall he was on the court during some of those stretches where the Clippers just weren't

getting stops in fifteen minutes, he was a minus twenty out there. Not putting it on him. I like his hustle, I like the way he competes, but they still need Mason Plumbley. Let's not forget about that that's your true backup seven footer and somebody who I think will thrive next to James Harden in the pick and roll with those lobs. Quick time out will come

back. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number after the Clippers fall up north one twenty two, one fourteen to the Golden State Warriors. Looking for more postgame quotes we can dive into. I know some people really enjoyed that conversation with coach Ricky g Tad Daly said, Wow, I learned a lot from Coach Ricky. We always do, and the parallels he was bringing up between the Clippers

and Golden State Warriors very appropriately makes sense. The teams are analogous in some ways and they're playing each other again on Saturday. More on that, Oh, Martin Huyton Beach just called in. Missed him the other night. I said he would be first tonight to be called back. He did. We'll get to him as well. This is Clippers talk on a M five to seventy LA Sports. The LA Clippers continue their hunt for Alarry o. B. They still want to get that Larry o'beat. Don't miss a moment all

season long. This is the LA Clippers Audio Network Fun Night here on Clippers Talk even after a loss. It was cool to talk to Ricky g earlier. If you miss that, I'll have the podcast up shortly after we finished last segment here. Clippers lose by six. Final score Golden State Warriors one twenty year Los Angeles Clippers one fourteen. I mentioned the starting lineup. They were a plus four tonight. They won their minutes. They played twenty two

of them last night. It was twenty eight. They really were chasing that one on the second nd of a back to back. You just can't play them much more than they did tonight. It was the right move. You don't want to turn those tired legs into dead legs coming up for a week or so. But they ended up shooting forty eight percent from the field tonight, the starting unit forty three percent from three when they were on the floor,

and again, a plus four bench wasn't quite good enough. Clippers had their moments, but coach Lou would say this postgame, this is coming from La Murray at La Murray. The n U might make him a pregame guest on Saturday. One of my favorites covers the Clippers. For the Athletic. We had Andrew greif on earlier today. In the pregame show, Coach Lou said the five and seven tested the team mentally, and they show them that they can do it. He also thought Coach Lou that Paul George, while

felt feeling good physically, he was gassed. He could tell he was tired and that can have an effect on your legs. Of course. He also said he thought he put Bones Highland in a tough spot tonight. He was looking for some offensive energy. I love the move, just give it a shot. It didn't work, but they needed some paunch a spark, and I think Bones will come through in that spot more often than not. Coach

who also said the game was moving too fast for Kobe Brown. That was evident, very much so Clippers though now two and eight in clutch time games, games that come down to the last five minutes within five points, no team has more losses in those games. That's tough. That's coming from Law Murray of the Athletic. Mark huinsen Beach here on Clipper staff without Amazon, what's up? Well, like you mentioned a little bit earlier last night.

And I've been contemplating this since Tys was acquired from the Pacers. You know, he had that nineteen point game, looked pretty good the first couple of games and all that. But like you said the other night, when Plumblely comes back, I'd like coach lou to be here on the team we're playing. But I'd like to have both Tyson plumb Lee both on the court. Can you imagine the rim production with those two guys when you're coming down and then they can feed off of each other as far as shots go, you

know, in and around there. But I'd like to see, you know, Tys go to the power forward position and then see how that works out for you know, three four games. I don't hate the idea there, Mark, because he knocked down a three pointer tonight. That's a shot he's just gonna have to hit. Teams are going to have to respect him from the outside with his jumper if he's going to play the four. So encouraging to see that tonight. And he had a couple of beautiful passes by the

way, Daniel Tys with two assists. Both of them came I believe to Russell Westbrook in the fourth quarter. One of them was to russ On a huge throwdown when he was in the dunker spot on the baseline. Tys has an interesting skill set that you can tap into and really see the potential. And yes, if he can play the four next to a big that could

really be a dynamic. That could, I don't know, just open up a different element to this Clippers team on offense, in on defense, anything else in the games that I think, well, I watched it and I just saw, you know, basically what went wrong, and it just it's still a gel process for them getting used to each other. But it'll come around. I can remember teams, so the Clippers not jelling until January.

And I've had a season ticket when I get afforded since nineteen eighty eight, Danny Manning and Ron Harper, So I've been to quite a few Charles Smith out there too, Uh, Charles Charles Smith, Ken Norman Doc Rivers for one year, yep, yep in his little short shorts. Yeah. I just think I just yeah, yeah, I've seen them all, and like I said, I think that would be at least try it out and let

them work for a while. It's not gonna be like the Twin Towers or anything, but uh, you know, but I think that just the room protection those two guys there, if they're coming down and they're already in places like, oh crap, now what No. I like the idea, Mark. I appreciate the phone call call in again on Saturday. I think the Clippers they have so many off there are so many moving parts right now it's hard to isolate what variables are working and what aren't. And that's part of

this process. But they're also eight and ten. There's not a lot of room for error. They have to start winning ball games encouraging signs though, And let me tell you this, the most important thing right now from this Clippers team is seeing Kawhi Leonard still look like that guy a dude, as Ricky g would say, a superstar. Twenty three points on just seventeen shots, and he had a jumper early, then a floater took it away from

Curry and then cut a lob from James Harden in the first half. I thought he had some really impressive that pull up three he had in transition. In the second half, the Clippers really needed it. Made it a twelve point game after it was up to eighteen. The floater he had in the third quarter and that brought it to six, and then he had another three pointer of bringing it to nine in the third and then a tough layup through

the defense in the third quarter as well. The explosiveness was there. The guy that we saw the last three months of last season into the first two games in that first round series against the Phoenix Suns is still who Kawhi Leonard is, and that guy can be a number one option on a championship team. Nothing's more important than that, because Kawhi Leonard, he's their guy.

That's what they've invested in. They built the team around him. And the last two games especially, he has looked much quicker, much faster, and look, he hasn't played this many games straight in the regular season since the twenty sixteen to twenty seventeen season back with the Spurs, so maybe his body is adjusting and he's kind of caught his early second win of the season playing these back to backs again. But just looking healthy, looking spry, that's

huge. That's everything for this team. Gonna need it on Saturday against Golden State. Clippers have to be better with their execution. Looking for a bounce back game from Paul George. Tip off of that one is at one. We'll have clippers countdown at twelve before we get out of here. Katie Newton, our producer here in Burbank, we'll steal a little casual Katie's corner. Katie, you got a question for me like Ricky g did earlier. Well,

probably not as high level. Yeah, it's gonna be something like silly like this, like I think I know the answer, but fast breakpoints? Am I wrong? Or am I right? By saying oh, like they get it a breakaway and they make it, we get it. Yeah, they're running, they're in transition. And then you're right. What about a pick and roll? That's a little bit more of a visual. Okay,

you'll have to show me. The traditional way is a big man comes up, sets a screen and eats a zoo box for James Harden, and then defense has to make a decision do you want to fight over the screen or go under it? And you can get a switch that way? All right, you'll have to point it out. Yeah, I'm sorry, that's just the sport for you. Cameras have trouble with that one. Clippers gotta spam it more. They got to use it more, though James Harden's too good

with it. Clippers lose by six tonight. Before we get out of here, I do want to thank the Clippers organization. No Eagle, Ryan Steaman, Ralph Lawler, Carlo Jimenez on the call, big Brother, Jake Warner, our head engineer, the callers, the listeners, the coach Ricky g coming on tonight. That was fun.
