Time for a postgame Look, it's your LA Clippers. This is Clippers Locker Road, brought to you by Cedars Sinai, the official health partner of the LA Clippers, and by Patschonga, official travel casino of the LA Clippers. Breaking down today's action with the pre and post game voice. If you're LA Clippers, they're locking in every game, every night. Adam Osland, the Clippers give Victor Wemanyama his Welcome to the NBA moment as they win one twenty

three to eighty three over the San Antonio Spurs. Welcome into your postgame show. I'm at a Oslin coming up. We'll get the second half highlights, your post game box score. We'll also have Clippers Talk tonight on AM five to seventy LA Sports eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy if you'd like to get on early. But first and foremost, back to your radio boys. Up the Clippers, Carlo Jimenez. Carlo. It was a game

where Paul George really himself well in that first quarter. Five steals, a career high in a quarter for him, and it just looked like everybody kind of rallied around that. It was infectious. The way he was playing early on. Yeah, he set the tone when they were in Salt Lake City, but it was kind of midway through that second quarter. Today, it was right from mcget go. Paul George defensively was in every passing lane and

offensively was getting to the rim and able to finish around the rim. And I think that really helped set the tone for this Clippers team throughout that first half. They kind of ran away with things. The Spurs had fifteen turnovers in the first quarter because the Clippers were everywhere on the defensive end. A really great performance to start the game and a win that is needed coming off the close one in Salt Lake. No doubt, Spurs ended up with twenty

five turnovers. Clippers ended up turning that into I want to say, thirty four points. They were getting out and running eighteen points in transition, twenty second chance points, fifty four points in the paint, and I just love the spirit they played with. Even when they had that big lead in the third quarter, they did not let up the starters play till about the minute

and a half point of the period. But I just like the fact that the Clippers were playing their brand of basketball, regardless of who the opponent was and who the score and what the score was. Hey, at the end of the day, you know what they did. They gave no quarter at them. Yes, sir, that's what the Clippers do, give no quarter. And today the Clippers won every single quarter. And when you do that,

you're guaranteed to win one hundred percent of the time. And that's what they did tonight, the largest win over San Antonio ever in franchise history. And it was a good one and one needed. I don't you know when you walk come away from this one and you say that's how they should play. There was nothing special about tonight that kind of you know, knocked your socks off, for lack of a better term, The Clippers just played their brand of basketball and came away with a win. Yeah. I call this

a taking care of business type of victory. Especially with how treacherous and difficult the schedule is. You have to navigate it by getting big victories over lesser opponents so you can rest the starters. As the Clippers have their first back to back coming up Tuesday against the Orlando Magic then the Lakers on Wednesday. We talked about during the broadcast but it looked like Kawhi Leonard. He was frustrated early on. Even with the Clippers up big, he was going for

perfection. He won a big bounce back performance. They got it. He led them with twenty one points and got another victory over his former squad. He's playing against the former team. He improves a nine to three all time against the San Antonio Spurs, and you're right at them. Seem like despite his team leading twenty one points, feels like there was a lot more left out there for Kawhi. A couple open threes, a couple mid range jays in which he probably got fouled on, but it wasn't called. And so

you just look at that and hope that fuels him. Can he be the tone setter on Tuesday when the Magic come to play. You get Orlando on a back to back, gotta be able to take advantage early and the Clippers had to steal a takeaway earl as San Antonio was trying to feed Victor Wembnyama, what did you just make your first impressions of the ninth or tenth wonder of the world. You've said it, I mean the Antonio Skyscraper. As

we call him is unbelievable. Just even a fast break where Russell Westbrook came in to try to contest the ability to contort the body at seven to four, get around Westbrook and lay it up with the left hand. What's impressed me about him is the composure and he didn't show much emotion on the court, and that's something that is big time because then you're not going through ups and downs throughout the game, throughout the season. He just plays his brand

of basketball. Struggled a little bit today, but that's gonna come four to ten from the field. Still. There's some plays at him where you're like off an inbound. He caught one on the left block Robert Coven who was guard, and he just turned caught it head high, flicked it up and in and all you can do is watch, like whether there's a defender in front of him or not. That's a bucket every time. Yeah, he is special, going to be very special, maybe the face of the league

at some point. Clippers get the victory though today against Wemby and the Spurs one twenty three to eighty three. Their next contest coming up on Halloween, that's Tuesday night. They're taking on the Orlando Magic tip off for that once at seven, we'll have Clippers countdown your pregame shows starting at six thirty. Carlo Jimenez, my friend, great call. Let's run it back on Tuesday. Let's run it back, Adam, and let's see if the Clippers can

run it back as well. Big one Magic coming to town coming up next. Second half highlights. Clippers win big over the Spurs. largest victory over the Spurs and franchise history. Welcome back into your postgame show. I'm at a Mosland. Still to come, we'll get to your final box score. Second half highlights though, right now, after the Clippers led fifty six to thirty seven at thirty seven, number is what stands out to me. Holding San Antonio under forty points. The first half, Clippers were at fifty six and in that third quarter the starters continued to execute, and

it was a really nice period from Russell Westbrook. Russ has been everywhere ten points, five boards to his SIFs. Here he comes Euro step Russell, the rim, the layup in the bowel, He'll take contact and two Russell Westbrook back door underneath Westbrook, left block, layup up and end Russell this left hand points to George were a pretty fine steps through or left handed water

off the background. Put back yes, Russell Westbrook rebound recycle his own miss Russ with fourteen points and eight boards today and left winner Westbrook three rattles two Russell Westbrook with his third three of the ball game. He's got nineteen. Russell Westbrook with nine of his nineteen points in that third quarter, finished three to five from distance. By the way, Clippers led after three by thirty three, who was ninety three to sixty. The starters were pulled late in

the third quarter. They would not return and the Clippers' backups would end up winning missed one on one twenty three to eighty three over the San Antonio Spurs as they won the fourth quarter thirty to twenty three. Coming up next, more in your postgame box score Clippers start the season off two to one. Their next game right back here taking on the Orlando Magic Tuesday night on Halloween. AM five to seventy LA Sports. We'll have Clippers talk for you. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number if you would like to get on Clippers and I end up shooting fifty two percent from the field, sixteen to forty two from distance, that is thirty eight percent from three out rebounded San Antonio forty eight to thirty seven, had sixteen turnovers, but San Antonio with nine more.

They were at twenty five turnovers. The Clippers ended with fifteen steals in this one, and they turned those twenty five turnovers by the Spurs into thirty four points. Clippers got out and ran eighteen fast break points, twenty second chance points, fifty four points in the paint and they were led by Kawhi Leonard against his former squad six of thirteen. He was efficient on those thirteen shots, twenty one points. As he was getting to the free throw line

went six of seven. There was beating himself up a little bit. We were saying, hey, Kawhi Leonard's been a perfectionists out there. Even though he's having a great game, a very efficient game, he misses a free throw. You know, he called himself out for it, but you like to see it. A nice bounce back performance by the Clippers and Kawhi Leonard after he was a little bit frustrated. I think with that lost Friday night in Utah, Paul George had nineteen. Russ joined him with nineteen as well,

eight boards, three assists off the bench. Bones Highland had eight of his eighteen in the fourth quarter, and I just love the way Bones plays out there. You know what I'm short in him a little bit. He had thirteen of his eighteen in the fourth quarter. Bones Highland is a bucket instant offense, and the way he pushes the basketball off the court and gets this team into their offense early, that's what you like to see out there,

a young player continuing to show that growth and development. Norman Powell, by the way, my player to watch. He had an efficient thirteen on five to eleven shooting, knocked down a couple of three pointers out there, had two steels himself. I thought normOn Powell matched up Againstvictor women Yama was actually a win for the Clippers somehow. Women Yama had just eleven points on ten shots, five boards, a couple of assists in twenty six minutes.

Mama said, there'll be days like this. Victor woman Yama likely gonna be the rookie of the year if he just continues to play at a high level. We saw what he did against the Houston Rockets last game and their only win on the season, but it was exciting to watch him out there. I'm still wondering how Rusk got called for that foul on Victor women Yama in transition. It looked like good defense, but Wemby getting superstar calls already. And you know what, but the way he has looked so far, this

guy is more than special. He's something we've never seen before in NBA history. It was a treat to watch him in his first road contest tonight, but even better to see the Clippers get the victory against him. They win one, twenty three to eighty three. They'll be back here on Tuesday against the Orlando Magic. Tips on for that one a little bit later. Seven thirty tip six thirty pre game outside of Last Angelas, we are leaving you until then, but coming on next on a five seventy LA Sports. We

the victory over the San Antonio Spurs. They win one twenty three to eighty three. Here at Crypto dot Com Arena, welcome in to Clippers Talk. I'm out of Moslin. Eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number if you'd like to get on tonight. Coming up on the show, we got postgame audio from Russell Westbrook. Also Chuck Mockler from Clips in Dip will be here.

Clippers got off to a strong start in this one. The antithesis of what we saw Friday night in Utah against the Jazz. We wanted to see it. It was mirroring what we saw here at Crypto in their first game against the Portland Trail Blazers, where the Clippers defensively were everywhere contesting things at the

rim. That's what we like to see, multiple bodies, and you had to have that tonight with multiple defenders up against Victor women Yama, who they were trying to find early on. Kawhi had a couple of steals early, but Paul George with five of them, a career high for a quarter. He opened up with five steals in the first quarter. Paul George did and the Clippers they led by fourteen points in the first quarter. That's how you take a lesser team out of the ball game. Don't give me life,

don't give me confidence. Do not let them think it could be their night. They did it against Portland. They didn't do it against the Utah Jazz on the road. They did it again tonight against the San Antonio Spurs and Victor weinbin Yama. He only had two points on three shots in the first

quarter and he finished with just eleven. Coming off his first victory as a pro against Houston the other night, where I believe he had twenty two in a game that went into overtime, and we didn't see all the different machinations of his game that we had seen over the past couple of days in the highlight packages that have been going around, because he's the freakiest athlete we've ever seen in this league. Before flat out, I was talking with Jim Jackson,

former player, one of my favorite Kings of all time. I know he was only there one year. Dallas Maverick, you might know him from NBA. Jam You're always playing him and Jamal Mashburn first. But of course commentator now with Brian Seaman on Balley Sports. I asked Jim Jackson before the game, who's your comp for Victor Wmanyama, And obviously you have to merge two guys together. It's an amalgamation of players because nobody has ever looked like

this, And he said Ralph Sampson and Kevin Durant. And I like that young Ralph Sampson before the knee injuries, very spry out there next to a young Hakeem That was a team that got to the eighty six finals and lost to the Boston Celtics. One of the all time great teams. But Victor Wemenyama, with his shooting and the way he can bring the ball to the court. We saw that tonight, but length of the basket and how he

disrupts shots even when he doesn't even put his hands up. There was a play I think it was in the first half where Bones Highland thought he had an opening of the basket, but women Yama was waiting for him, and it looked like he just saw a ghost or something since it's Halloween, and instead of going up, he ended up throwing it. So what he thought would be a player on the right wing that would be cast with the ghost shut out Noah ego because nobody was there and the ball went out abounds.

It was a turnover generated by Victor women Yama. Bones ended up having a very good ball game eighteen points four to three pointers, did most of his damage in the fourth quarterer and helped the Clippers extend their lead and get up by as many as forty one. But it's just a sight to behold. It's honestly an honor tonight getting to watch a game in person of Victor women Yama his first road game, and I hope he has a long and successful

career. But it was good to see the Clippers get the victory and give him a little bit of that rookie moment where you take him down by forty, that's impressive. And the way they were playing him throwing multiple bodies. Norman Powell, who has looked good defensively to start off this season. He's not waiting for the playoffs to get back to playing that Toronto Raptors championship level defense. Last couple games, I've been watching him on the defensive end,

and he had a really nice fourth quarter. And this is why he was my player to watch coming into this one. Had fourteen of his twenty points Friday night in Utah in the fourth, but also defensively was good. They were trying to pick on him, wasn't happening well tonight. He got matched up against Victor Wembenyama a few times and I'm not sure he was scored on. That's impressive to me. That tells you he's digging in his heels defensively.

But Roko was on him early on a Vita Zubats had his opportunities. Kawhi Leonard in the third quarter up thirty was battling for rebounds with Winyama. That's your leader. I know he's not your vocal leader. He leads by example though to be up thirty and giving that effort on the defensive end, trying to crash the boards while being obviously undersized against Victor as everyone is. Is that boban Maranovitch. That's Kawhi for you. In a nutshell, he's

a two way superstar. Doesn't know when to turn it off, can't. There is no off switch. He's playing hard every possession. They got a lot of guys like that. Paul George is another two way superstar. Russell Westbrook I thought after his first stint where he struggled early, he then turned things around quickly. In the first quarter, in six minutes Russ zero points, one assists. Then in the second quarter he came back in and I want to say that's when he first hit a three pointer. He drew an

offensive foul. Though hustle plays plays that go unnoticed, unsung, you draw an offensive foul like that, and I think it was on Victor. But to stand in the way of the bigs and the trees down low, I love that. That's an all hard type of play. You're not gonna see it in the box score doesn't matter. But he ended up having a putback at the end of the second quarter. And then started to get in transition and really cook in the third quarter where he ended up with nine points.

So let's see, he had ten points in the second quarter on four of seven shooting, and he had knocked down a couple of three pointers, and then in that third quarter has nine more one more three and Kawhi trusting him, saw him on a kickout where Russ was in that far side corner, found him for a three. That's good team chemistry Russ. That's obviously not his strength, not a great shooter. But last season with the Clippers when

he came over shot thirty six percent from the outside. Some said it was inflated because he had a really good game where I think he went five or five or six of six from the outside in that big victory where he led them against the Memphis Grizzlies and had one of those throw go back Russ MVP type of performances where he did absolutely everything to will them as a victory. But I'm interested to see what the open looks that he does get. And

tonight he went three of five from the outside. What he can do another plus thirty leading them in the box score. Once again, that was Russ tonight did that against Portland. I think it's just the eighth time in his career where he's had a plus minus of thirty or more, and he's already had two of them in three games so far this season. And he struggled at times, especially with a shot up in Utah on Friday. Wanted to

see how Russ would bounce back. Very good performance of Viza. Zubas struggled, didn't give him much on the boards, but tonight sixteen eight boards, six of seven shooting. Russ was looking for him. So after a bad performance when the Clippers got demolished on the glass against Utah of eatsa, Zubas turned it around too, and I think it was Kawhi who found him for an easy one early, a little floater. He's always had trust in Big Zoo, going back to his first game as a Clipper, but then Zoo

was blocked by Wemby, did not deter him. Scored on Collins with the left handed hook in the first quarter. I just liked the fact that this team knew they weren't good enough Friday night and they didn't play their brand of basketball, and that defensive effort, especially from the outset the opening tip wasn't good enough against Utah tonight. It was that's how you put lesser teams away early, get your starter some rest and if you want to navigate this difficult

schedule. I put it out a sweet earlier today, and it was regarding the Clippers being in their first situation of three games in four nights starting tonight. They got the back to back coming up Tuesday, Wednesday, Orlando and then the Lakers, and it looks like Los Angeles, the Lakers, who went to overtime against the Sacramento Kings, are going to take the l They're down by five with fifteen seconds left. Nope, that's an l now officially.

So good on the Kings, making them get even more tired legs having to go to overtime because they're going to get a day of rest before they take on the Clippers. The only reason I brought them up here in this situation on Wednesday. That's a big showdown, their first of the year measuring stick type of game. Yes, the Clippers have won eleven straight against the Los Angeles Lakers. They have dominated them in the regular season. Has been

one sided. But if you're going to get through this schedule. The way to do so what twenty five instances of three games and four nights, is to take care of business against teams who are down, especially in your conference, like the San Antonio Spurs. They already saw two teams maybe three that could be bottom three teams in the West. I think Portland will be. San Antonio is a chance to be. Utah's a chance to be. Is them in the Rockets. Outside of that, it's a slugfest in the Western

Conference. It's an absolute bloodbath. It is as difficult as it has ever been because teams like the OKC thunder Well, they got even better. They lost earlier tonight to the Denver Nuggets. Big SGA had one of his worst shooting performances as a pro. Don't expect that to happen very often. So you win a game like this where your starters don't play in the fourth quarter.

That's the recipe. That's the formula for success. To navigate through this treacherous schedule that the Clippers have, and it's more difficult than anyone else's because of the third billing in their own arena next year. That changes with that sweet I mentioned, I put up a picture of the into a dome. You're not gonna see them have twenty five instances of three games and four nights next year. Tonight, the Clippers handled their business the right way against Sinn

Tonio. And don't think for a second that even though it's been a while since he's played for them, last time was twenty eighteen, that Kawhi still doesn't get up for these games against his former squad and lets him know what they're missing. I think that's why he was hard on himself tonight. And by the way, he hit a ridiculous deep Steph Curry three in the third quarter. As we're watching to see if his legs are there, if he's

looking good, he's looking healthy. The three point shooting has been there, and that is the best sign possible. Kawhi Leonard looks spectacular. He let him with twenty one. Clippers go on to win by forty led by as many as forty one. Final score Clippers one twenty three to eighty three over the Spurs. Quick time out here, We'll come back. Get to your

phone. Calls eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy your phone calls Chuck Mockler still to come and I believe positive moment with a fake philosopher before we get out of here. Tonight from Crypto dot Com Arena, Clippers improved to two and one on this young season. They dominate and have a decisive victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

I'm out of Moslin. This is your postgame show, Clippers Talk on M five to seventy LA Sports LA Clippers Basketball is on the two one three Era continues. You're listening to the La Clippers on the LA Clippers Audio Network. Might as well shine for never before business before pleasures. Tonight at Crypto

dot Com Arena, the Clippers handle theirs against the San Antonio Spurs. They were up by as many as fourteen in the first quarter, led ninety three to sixty heading into the fourth, and we close it out with the final score of one twenty three to eighty three over the Spurs. I'm out a Moslin. Welcome back into Crypto dot Com Arena. This is Clippers Talk eight sixty six nine seventy eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy You heard

that good victory music from the Puff Daddy and Family album with Biggie. It's mostly about Biggie on that song. I'm not the biggest P Diddy fan, but hey, he produced some good songs and dances in the videos. Is should night like to say? Well? Source ninety five reference there Clippers big victory tonight, not because it was over an elite opponent. But sometimes you

can play down to your competition. Sometimes you can get caught up in all the media droves that were here because Victor Woman Yama was in the building. There can be those distractions that get to you. We saw far too often last season this Clippers team played down to their competition, like I don't know, loose to the Orlando Magic twice. Oh, they're in town Tuesday night

on Halloween. I wonder if the Clippers got some form. I don't think they forgot those two losses last season that really never should have happened, one of them in overtime. So the get back is on a little bit of

payback right now. But if you want to be a championship team, especially with this schedule, you have to get up big on bad teams and teams that are likely going to be struggling and young teams that are developing players like the San Antonio Spurs, and I thought their effort against Wemby was fantastic. They just threw multiple bodies at him and he didn't have many easy ones. Yeah, he had a crazy tip in where they just threw it up.

It was one on one with Roco and somehow he guided the basketball in. That's gonna happen. But everything else pretty well contested, including Russell Westbrook in the open floor in the third quarter, where I thought he made a great defensive play made Wemby think about it, lost the basketball. They called a foul. Coach Luke challenged it. Russ wasn't having it. He was arguing he was adamant he didn't touch him. I didn't see a replay where he

did, but they confirmed the call when we went to the line. I just like the attitude the Clippers played with, even though they were up thirty. No easy buckets, make him earn everything, all right. Phone calls eight six, six, nine, eight seven, two five seventy of them start things off with Damien in Southgate, No, Damien in La What am I saying? I know where he's from? Damien, what's up? He is? What's up? Brother? What's up, Adam, Man, that

was a great win. Brother. I got a little revelation. I got a little, you know, tear in my eye because I remember going to watch the Spurs play here on my birthday, right and us getting beat one twenty three to eighty three. And I remember wanting to go see Tim Duncan and the boys in them not even playing in the second half. You're telling me you went to a game where the Spurs won by the exact same score that the Clippers beat them by tonight. I'm telling you, bro, it

was on my birthday. We got whacked by forty Okay, Like, and now look at us now, you know. I was like, wow, tables have turned. If you look at the plus minus, we're all in the positives. I'm flipping over here. If I could flip, I would do that. I would somersault and do all of that. But I'm not capable. Okay, so somebody else do that for me right now, please. But man, everything was so complete, Adam. We were in the passing lanes once again, Roco coming up big once again. You're not gonna

find what he does in the statue. It's bigger than that. And what I love is that these guys are taking care of these young teams. We frustrated them. We were in the passing lanes. We were busy with Lindeniana. We crowded him. We played him very well, and I like to see that. I think the world is a guy. You guys got the comp wrong. Bro. The comp is a giraffe and a gazelle. That's what you saw playing tonight. Bro, that was a giraffe in the gazelle

together and it was marvelous. He's gonna have a great future, but not tonight, not on our watch. And I love it. Man. We came out from the tip. Russell Westbrook got us started in both halves. I just can't say enough about this team, but I have to, you know, just do my part because we got to get to the other guys. Shout out to all the Cliffer Nations. Shout out to mister Moppler's going

to be on later tonight. Adam, You're doing a great job. Carlos killing it, everybody's killing it. It's a great day for Clipper Nation. Let's go all right. Thanks with the phone called Damien. Appreciate it. We're like a baby draft tonight. Hey, he'll get there. Don't worry Minihama. This is somebody I think that has the potential to win Defensive Player of the Year in his rookie season. Nobody's ever done that as a rookie before. But the way he shrinks the floor, he guards one half of

it, it's like Revas Island type stuff ed Reid. It's amazing how he can redirect shots just by his presence, just by guys knowing he's there. It makes you think a little bit more, a lot more, and you could see it, the wheels turning at times. How close is Wemby? Is he stalking? Is he on a rear view contest? Is he anywhere in the vicinity within fifteen feet? Basically because with his wingspan he can get there in a hurry. When you saw in Gay one him block Kyrie Irving

one of the best tough shot makers I've ever seen in my life. As a fact, he's one of the greatest circus shot hitters, probably one of the best horse players of all time. And he couldn't compute how to get the ball over the top of Wemby on a mid range jumper who came out of nowhere for it. It's just it's it's a marvel to watch, it's a spectacle. It's Andre the Giant type of stuff. It is the ninth wonder of the world. And it was cool to see the Clippers play him

tonight. Even better though, to see them get the victory. Damien there mentioned Roco Robert Covington, he almost ripped Wemby early on, did end up with a steal, but it was Paul George who was doing it on both ends. First, he had an and one after missing, he followed his shot, got it back up and in then had back to back steel and scores, huge throwdowns, had another big steel in feat of eats, Zubats for a dunk, had a big jumper in the third just in case san

Antonio forgot. Sorry to think, oh, maybe maybe we can come back in this one. We're young, we're dumb, We're full of confidence. We uh feel like we can come back. We got Greg Popovich. Nah. The Clippers starters tonight imposed their will. Paul George just professional with it so far this season, the efficiency in the rate he's been scoring. And there was a time out in the third quarter where beats to Zubos that the free throw line, and I saw coach Lou pull aside Paul George and Kawhi

Leonard and drop a play. And while you never disrespect your opponent, that's not what it was. But when you're up thirty, you probably have an opportunity to try some things, to work on some things that you had just tried in practice beforehand. There was a close practice with the Clippers. They were locked in, they were ready for this one. They were fully focused, and there was a lot of two man game in that third quarter with PG and Kawhi and stuff. Maybe we'll see later on along the way.

Stuff they're just working on, tinkering, fine tuning. That is also a benefit of being up big on your opponent. And when you're playing teams that are at the bottom of conferences, you just have to win like this. You have to with this Clippers schedule. It's the only way to survive it. To get to work on some things and also then get your starters out of it. And they were out by I think with a minute and a half left in the third quarter. Quickly, let's pause ten seconds for station

identification. Here on a five seventy LAS Sports, this is La Clippers Basketball AM five to seventy KLAC Los Angeles, ninety eight seven KYSR HD two Los Angeles and iHeartRadio station mention how Kawhi was looking a little bit frustrated. There was a play early on where he fell to the floor. I think there was a turnover by him. He was slow to get up and get back

down the court. It looked a little bit frustrated, but then knocked down a three, had an and one little step through move I believe on show on Founder beatsa zubots for a nice hook shot. Again guys finding him and then that deep three that was actually end of the second I thought it was third quarter D three steph curry Land. But a big open three to start the third quarter. Is the Clippers were pushing the pace a little bit and it's rare for Kawhi to get open threes. Here's how play fast stir.

When you get a stop on the defensive end, get out and run. Make the defense have to scramble and try to fight. Oh, where's Kawhi at? Where's Paul George at. That's one of the benefits of Russ and Bones Highland, the way they play speed demons out there. Sonic the Hedgehog, sonic and tails whatever you want to call it, knuckles maybe that's kawhi,

but I love seeing their superstars just get easier looks. That's why I think they really wanted to see more traditional point guard play on this Clippers team. One more call before we break here, Tagus and Walnut. Tajus, you're on Clipper stock without a massa. What's up? Hey? What's up? Adam good Win? Last year, we didn't have enough of the blowout so to get two of the three games a blowout. They had some, but they were going the other way. Tajus. It was teams blowing out

the Clippers at times. That's right? Uh? Is it me? Or does it feel like the NBA is kind of letting teams play more physical on their swallowing their whistle to start the year so far? Oh? Okay, okay. That is interesting because I've been thinking about this too. The same thing happened to start off last year though, and then slowly but surely whistles were being blown as the year went along, and at whatever point of emphasis

the referees made, they eventually reverted back to write where they were. But I agree with you, it looks like that so far, Yeah, I enjoy it. Two questions. One, I missed the first half of the last game, but so far I see Paul George and Kawi both being subbed out in the first quarter, and they're both out. Do you think that's just depending on the opponent, or that's something that Tyler wants them both to rest and try to have the bench develop their play throughout the season. Yeah,

I've taken note of this. I thought that we're going to be staggered more and maybe that will happen because Coach lu talked about that at Media Day. But so far, there have been stretches at the end of quarters, end of first quarter in this one, I believe, and it's only been a couple of minutes, but where they both been off. Now during that Russ has been on and coach Lou spoke to this recently saying he wants one of those three. So maybe I misinterpreted and it wasn't about either Kawhi or

just Paul George. One or the other needs to be out there. It's one of them or Russ. So we'll see as we move along here. And those are some of the things I look for, just lineups, mismatches rotations early on in the season. I thought kJ Martin, after getting a DNP Friday night, kind of found more of a role. I know he didn't do much in the first half, but what I noticed with him was he was almost playing the cherry picker role because he has an elite skill set

with his leaping ability. That's what he offers this team rim runner dunker position. So get him out there and move him down the court and try to find him as they did a few different times in the first half, just being the defense down the floor. Then in the second half, he actually knocked down a three pointer and caught a couple of ops. I think Mason Plumbley threw one to him. Big plumb had a huge putback dunk by the

way tonight. But just seeing how guys are being used as the season goes along, that's just something you know, there's still so many unknowns with this team. It's of interest to me. Uh So what you're talking about there was staggering Kawhi and Paul George. Trust me, I'm watching for that too. I'll be interested to see, especially in a game against the Lakers, how those two are used. On Wednesday Night, but you can't overlook the

Orlando magic. Guess we found out last season. One more before we break here, I lied, Let's go to Sean and Inglewood. Sean, how are you doing tonight, my friend? Adam mah you my friend. Get hear your voice again. Although you were kind of man at me last time, I love you. Bro, wasn't mad? We keep moving, I said, I love you too. Alright, alright, Well, I went to the Chargers game and I didn't see the Clippers. I'll see the replay.

I'm glad to hear they won. I'm glad you approved of their performance, and I'm sure listening to you, I heard some good things. I just want to say thank you for that. I appreciate that. Hey, they're not looking. They don't need my approval. What the hell do I know? I just see a score where they won by forty tonight, Sean, How am I not gonna approve of a performance? Eight? I'm glad and thanks for spoiling it for me because I was going to watch you replay.

But you're listening to Clippers stock. I'm assuming you're on hold. Sean, come on and Clipper Nation. My model for the Clippers this year this year is no excuses allowed. Adam didn't like it, but I like it. Well, I get what you're saying. In some respects, I don't hate it, but it's like if you're missing your two superstars. I don't know if that's an excuse. I think it's more of an explanation. And

that's why they lost in that playoff series to the Phoenix Suns. It's gonna be hard to win if you're missing your top two guys, and that's where they've been the past few seasons where they just haven't been able to stay healthy. We're hoping for better health this time around. I appreciate the phone call, Sean. We'll take a quick time out. Clippers led by as many

as forty one. They win one twenty three to eighty three tonight over the San Antonio Spurs, and they got their starters rest and they didn't have to play a minute of that fourth quarter thanks to bones Hyland. I'm telling you he could be a big key to all of this. He had thirteen in the fourth quarter. Clippers just continue to extend their lead against San Antonio.

More Clippers stock coming up, more of their phone calls eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy, eight sixty six ninety eight seven two five seventy. Also, Chuck Mockler of Clips and Dip will join the show. You're listening to a five seventy Lspores. LA Clippers basketball is on the two one three era continues. You're listening to the LA Clippers on the LA Clippers Audio Network. Last time that I chet check, it was fine chaze on my

neck, it was no smile on my brett. Last time that I tech Clippers went what's twenty three to eighty three over the San Antonio Spurs. Welcome back into Clippers Talk. I'm out a Moslin. We'll get back to your phone calls eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy. Believe me, we will get there. Jose Morris, hold on, but first you hear the music. You know it's a clips in double Dip episode of Clippers Talk. Chuck Mockler is joining us.

Chuck, what's up? No much man? I am in Montana. Thank you for having me. It's about twenty four degrees here right now, but watching the Clippers have an end to end victory. Has warmed me up a bit after a hell iss day of travel, so I'm feeling pretty good. Colder in Montana than the Spurs were tonight Here at Crypto dot Com a Renos, they shot us thirty seven and a half percent. Wemby was just

four of ten with eleven points. What did you make of the Clippers defensive performance against San Antonio and specifically Victor woman Yama tonight, Well, it felt like, you know, the game against the Jazz, there was some physicality issues. There was just not shyness. I don't want to make a team like that, but it felt like the Clippers were kind of resetting themselves with this game on how they should play defense for every single game. Wemby is

such a tough guard because who do you throw on him? But Nick Patoum was weirdly a nice Wemby stopper. I'm wondering if there's some kind of elderly French magic that Nico used on Victor there. But I was pretty happy with it. The Spurs, you know, they're not going to be competing for a top playoff spot, even probably a bottom playoff spot, but you still have to beat who's in front of you and the way you build good habits is by doing it every time, even against a team like them. This

just in middle playoff spot for the Spurs. Yeah, Boocket, you mentioned Nick Batoomb, though I forgot to bring that up. That's a great point. He had a couple of really nice plays where he stripped him, the ball went out of bounds and went back to San Antonio, but he made him uncomfortable. And then he had a block at the rim, a little French rejection with the French connection between those two where it looked like they were gonna have an easy oop to Wemby, but Nick Batoum was there, block

tomb batoombo, whatever you want to call it. I just like the fact that they got back to contesting everything at the rim, which is what we saw against the Portland trail Blazers. I can live with some fouls, even the one they called on Russell Westbrook, which seemed like a weak call. When there's that level of effort to stop an easy basket, you know what

I'm saying, right, and we're making them second guests. You know, there was some I think it was the second quarter where the fouling it was, or maybe the end of the first it was a little sloppy, but if you can tighten that up, you're still making a young team second guess what they're doing, which is, you know, kind of the sentence for a young team against such a defensive minded squad like the Clippers. So I

yeah, this defensive I mean, I don't know. It's just nice to see the Clippers beat a team they should be in a fashion like this, and for the second time now this season. Also for the second time already, as it happened in Game one. Russell Westbrook a plus thirty. I want to say he's had less than ten of these in his career where he ended a ballgame at being a plus thirty or more. And I thought after a short stint and where he wasn't as effective early on, Russ was really

good providing that energy. I mentioned the play in transition against Wemby, and he was the one guy I saw it early on was not afraid or not thinking about where's Wemby at as I attacked the basket. You know. Plus he knocked down three three pointers in this game. Great game from Russ and a nice bounce back performance. I would say one hundred percent Russ probably. You know, if I'm sure Paul George will play longer, it would have

been player of the game. But this is you know, I initially when the Russ trade happened, had some you know, skepticism, but this was a great example of even in the game you win by you know, a bunch of points or something like that, that that doesn't matter to Russ. You know, the score was zero zero going into the fourth quarter in Russ's mind, and you combine that with the efficiency from shooting, which is just

a bonus for sure. And then like we just talked about, but Tom kind of doing these contests, all of these things actually trickle down and it works, and Russ is a big connector for these things, kind of affecting the rest of the team and holding meaning as you go on throughout the game. In big games for sure, and in games where you win my thirty it's very important because there's this level of the Clippers when it comes to quote

unquote taking things seriously. They took it seriously tonight, and this is I love what standard they're setting for the fans because now they all want to see this everything night, Like we've gotten this tape of real focused championship ninety five percent healthy Clippers, like, we need what is it? We need seventy nine more games of this, but the first three, aside from the stumble against a pretty good Jazz team, feeling pretty good, I know on Clips

and Dip. We were very excited about being three and l on Monday. We'll all take two and one after how tonight went. Yeah, especially when the Lakers are one and two and lost to No TV might have mores as Zack Town made them work tonight with that matchup coming on Wednesday. But of course, the Clippers really need to get back victory against the Orlando Magic first,

as they took him down twice last season. But Russ Russell Westbrook knocking down that three pointer at the end of the first half, big shot, a little bit of momentum, shot in the arm heading into the locker room, and then the Clippers, you know, they stepped in the throat in the third quarter and Russ had another three. He had that mislayup that he

tipped in himself. But getting in transition and finding Kawhi and Paul George for open looks, that's just not something we're accustomed to seeing those guys getting wide open looks, and Russ and Bones are making it happen with the pace they're playing at and those guys running and streaking down the floor and finding them on the wings. I just like this brand of basketball, just a lot more exciting, more entertaining, and it gets your superstars easier shots. Yes,

there's more zip on the ball. Bones, little carroless with the ball in the first half, but he tightened it up. Listeners of our show will know your fantastic rant about Bones, which might be true. By the way, after this game we went surprise shot, don't act, So surprise might be true. And you're right, it's exciting basketball, and it still remains

to be seen very early in the season. What happens when the Clippers don't have those transition opportunities, what the half offense is going to look like. But because of these last couple seasons, when everyone's healthy, I don't think anyone's really worried about the half court offense. We just want to see it again. A quote unquote elite opponent. Yeah, Justin Russell on pregame, and I believe he said they were the second best team through a couple games.

Half court offense wise, so they were executing very well in that respect. You got to marry those two things. You got to be great in the half court, you got to be great in transition. And while in past years it's been a little bit of an adventure when the Clippers get out and run, they're starting to get better in that area. They really are

eighteen fast break points in this one. The stuff they have worked on, the themes and things they have preached throughout preseason and training camp, they're starting to play out now. And I just I like seeing that because it's one thing to talk the talk, is another to walk the walk. As our friend Will said recently on the podcast, I thought of eats A Zubat speaking

of bounced back performances twenty two minutes sixteen and eight. He and Mason Plumbley were much better in this game, bringing that physicality and also Beats Zubos was being a focal point and they were looking for him on offense. Feed him. He gets easy looks. I mean, the guy finished six of seven. He's gonna shoot seventy percent from the floor or something like that. You have to use him. He can be a weapon out there. He's you know, it's funny. I think of Zoobots almost like an NFL kicker for

this Clippers team. Right when it goes well, when he shoots seventy percent, you're like, yeah, hey, sixteen to eight, way to go, big Zoo. But then he has the game like against the Jazz, and you just think, what do you know? Fans like, what what

is he doing out there? Like Zoo is very underappreciated, but nights like this, I hope fans can see that even if it's not that big in the statue, that his presence out there is huge and he's sufficient, which with the Clippers new you know outlook on if the easy buckets there, let's go for it. Great spot for Zoo to be to help that overall team mentality. He is Chuck Mockler of Clips and Dip. Follow him at Chuck

Mockler on Twitter on x and guess what. Tomorrow we will have the trifecta, the Triumphant Trio Return will be on YouTube with Will Updyke as well and preview the next couple of games for the Clippers, So look for that. Chuck. Thanks for doing a little Clips and Double Dip tonight here on Clipperstock. Hey, thanks, for having me. Hope the callers are chills. So far, so good. We'll get back to him. Oh what a

segue, thanks Chuck. The handoff coming up next, back to your phone calls eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy and we'll close things out in preview Tuesday nights game against the Orlando Magic and Franz Wagner. He's good, tough. Did you see him during FIBA, Yeah, he's real good. More clipperstock next here on f five to seventy ELI Sports LA Clippers Basketball the two one three era continues.

You're listening to the LA Clippers on the LA Clippers Audio Network. I me at Crypto dot com Marena. After the Clippers win tonight one twenty three to eighty three over the San Antonio Spurs, largest victory over the Spurs in franchise history. Welcome back in to Clippers talk. I'm meda Moslin. Just saw this quote from Paul George postgame saying he put the Utah loss on himself even though PG thought he played well. But here's the quote. He's a

guy that really owns up to it. Whatever it is, it was wearing on him, so I knew he meant business the way he approached practice, the way he approached the game tonight. Russ is a pro, he's a

leader. Whether it should have been on him, and I told you postgame it wasn't a lot of things went wrong in that game in Utah, and it was tough to know how much time would be left on the clock if Russ even tried to hit Nicholas Batoom who if you watch that play one more time at the very end of the ball game, John Collins was going to contest that shot likely and he's a pretty good athlete, so they may not have gotten a shot off if he had found a tomb on the right wing.

But just cool to see the leaders on this team right the ship and get back to their winning ways tonight against San Antonio and Russell Westbrook led them being a plus thirty out there. Back to your phone calls, Morris in Long Beach, Morris, what's up here on Clippers? Stop with that amazen, Hey, Adam, let me tell you something. If we get to this time next Sunday night and the Clippers only have one loss, the bearded one, should he come out with he's gonna have to come off the bench.

All right, dock you lady, all right, Morris, thank you for the phone call. Yeah, we're hoping. We wanted them to get off to a really quick start. That loss in Utah hasn't derailed them though. They snapped right back to the team we thought they could be this season, the team we saw against the Portland Trailblazers opening night with a resounding, convincing, dominating victory tonight over the San Antonio Spurs. Let's go to Jose in Downey, Jose, what's up here on Clipperstock? How you doing a

them? I wanted to make sure to call in this time and not call in only when I'm upset, so but yeah, they look good. Man. That energy was from that first half and that really made the difference. They got that rest in for the starters. They didn't have to come in the fourth. This is the way they need to play every time. Might not always be a victory, but if they always in the game, challenging every shot, trying to beat everybody to the ball, it's it's gonna be

a better season that way. It's about keeping that competitive integrity. I think that is the phrasing that Brian Semen has been using, and the way they challenged Wemby at the ram. I think it was in the first half, Carlo Jimenez a star hanging around because first and last to leave, that's the type of guy he is. But was it first half when Zou and Roco just bodied him causing a turnover at the basket, Carlos shaking his head,

that was a big play. That's just keeping that consistency on the defensive end and letting the opposition know everything is going to be contested. No easy buckets at the rim, and it's not easy to stop a guy like Wemby, even with Roco and Sue. He's that good, he's that special and unique. Before we get out of here, Jose and Southgate, Jose, what's

up here on Clippers? Stop for that? I'm also lavging took an l But this game we bounced back at him, starting off with the defense, and then we were going up by thirty and I'm like, okay, please don't let it be a Clipper Knight and then bons Highland just comes in attacking like it. We're down by thirty and I'm okay, Adam's onto something. I know we're almost out here, so maybe you can get to it on Cliffs and did. But with the back to back coming up, how do

you think we're gonna handle that. Our starter is gonna play the first game, may not play the second game, or we're just gonna play through it. We won today against Spurs by forty, so I'm in a little bit different go Cliffs go, all right, a little bit different, Jose and Southgate. There, here's what I'm hoping. You don't want to get ahead

of yourselves. But if you come out with the same mindset as they did tonight, they have a great chance to also get an early lead against the Orlando Magic, and therefore you'd have a chance to wrest your starters on the back to back, as the Lakers will see them on Wednesday Magic tomorrow or Tuesday night, I should say, on Halloween. Before we get out of here, though, we gotta get to Big Bro, the fake philosopher, Big Brother Jake Warner with our positive moment of the evening, Yes, positive

moment of the evening. It doesn't matter if it's a relationship, a lifestyle, or a job. If it doesn't mean make you happy, let it go. Let it go, Let it go. Yeah, man, can't be keeping that baggage around now. Luckily we got the best job in the world, as Brian Seeman would also say, worst day in the NBA, best job anywhere else. So what's one of the best days in the NBA where the Clippers win by forty? Lakers lose in OT? I mean, who's got it better than us? Nobody? What's up? Harbross? I

hope that situation gets figured out before we get out of here. I do want to thank the Clippers organization, Noah Eagle, Brian Seamen, Ralph Lawler, Carlo Hemenez, your new radio voice of the Clippers on the call tonight. Fantastic work Carlo, the callers, the listeners, producer Katie Newton, and our Dennis A. Gastino. Stat of the night, the Clippers created twenty five turnovers by the San Antonio Spurs, leading to thirty four points in

a one twenty three eighty three victory. Until Tuesday on Halloween. This is Halloween Clippers taking on the Orlando Magic tip off at seven thirty. Clippers countdown at six thirty. I'm out of Maslin. We'll talk to you then. So why he was doing his thing. All they want to do is win. In La. I win. I thought they gave everything they had. I'm very proud of them. This has been Clippers Talk, the official postgame reaction of the LA Clippers. God bless Paul George. Are you not?

It's just change. Don't miss an episode all season law. Go to wherever you podcast and subscribe today. Well up the show. I got you on the iHeart Radio. You guys are great. Thank you for joining us for another exciting broadcast of LA Clippers basketball
