Transcript

Time for a postgame Look, it's your La Clippers. This is Clippers Locker Room, brought to you by Cedars Sinai, the official health partner of the La Clippers, and by Patchonga, official travel casino of the LA Clippers. Breaking down today's action with the pre and post game voice. If you're LA

Clippers, They're locking in every game, every now, Adam Osland. The Clippers fall in Game six in Dallas by a final score of one fourteen to one on one to the Dallas Mavericks, and with that they're twenty twenty three, twenty twenty four season and playoff campaign come to an end. Welcome into your postgame locker room show. I'm out a Oslin. Coming up, we will have Clippers Talk on the Patriot AM eleven fifty eight seven seven five to

two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five to two zero eleven fifty. But first let's get back out to Dallas and get back to your radio voice of the Clippers in Carlo Jamenez. Carlo, we identified some of the issues early on in this one. Of course, I show'll get a lot of calls postgame regarding PJ. Tucker, but the clippers inability to stop possessions with the Dallas Mavericks continually getting offensive rebounds for on one possession in the first quarter.

In fact, those extra shots they were able to get up and also just that hustle they showed they were the tougher team in this series overall. After Game one, has just felt like Jason Kidd was able to get more out of his guys, and of course no Kawhi Leonard from the Los Angeles Clippers outside of two games where he was limited, and those effort plays and that level of physicality Dallas was able to show tonight kind of exemplifies how this series

went. It's a great point at them. I think, really Dallas was able to be the more physical team. They're more aggressive in the paint, they got down hill, they kept momentum. The Clippers led for about thirty seconds all game. But Dallas really, I mean, they had control of this game from start to finish. Clippers fought, I mean, there's no

doubt about it. They fought time and time again. But you're right, those mistakes that plugged them all regular season plugged them again here in the postseason. The fast break points, the offensive rebounds, I mean, Dallas's playoffs. Franchise high was fourteen, they had eighteen and this one twenty one second chance points. It was a season. It was a game of flashbacks to a season of mistakes for the Clippers, and poetically ended kind of the way

the whole season went. The Clippers playing from behind, playing with fire and unable to finish and come back, something they had relied on, maybe too much throughout this season, those comebacks down the stretch. Yeah, we talked about it. This game was certainly a microcosm of the season. If you hadn't watched a Clippers game, you got a lot of what they went through this season in the forty eight minutes of this game, six where the rebounding

wasn't good enough, where they had turnovers at inopportune times. The overall number not that big at nine, but to start that third quarter when you have to start fast, and they were given the basketball right back to the Dallas Mavericks after both squads were tied up at fifty two at the half. The Clippers had battled back down thirteen in the first half. But to your point, when you're always in that uphill battle, it takes a lot out of

you and the Clippers to some degree. I felt like they ran out of gas. Guys were playing heavy minutes late in this one, but they put themselves in that position. They got down big early on and the Dallas Mavericks were a better squad in this game one hundred percent. And credit their their group able to make moves at the deadline that got them. PJ. Washington, who had a huge impact in this game four to eight from three,

two steals. Daniel Gafford maybe his best game of the series with thirteen points. Those two combined for twenty seven on a day where you lose Maxi Kleba to a shoulder injury in the first quarter of the ballgame. Impressive stuff from Dallas. They Kyrie irving pure magic in the second half series, but really today twenty eight points in the second half. He had been shooting fifty percent from three and fifty six percent for the field in second halves this season.

Incredible game from Kyrie. And and for the Clippers, you look towards next year, which has more question marks than answer. Is no doubt on what they will do, but an impressive, impressive game for the Dallas Mavericks, who played with a lot of heart, A lot of spirit and were the more physical team in the games they won. The Clippers losing Game six and their season comes to an end at the hand of the Dallas Mavericks one fourteen

to one on one was your final. The one answer we do have going into next season, Carlo Jimenez, is where the Clippers will be playing. I've said for a long time, the into a Dome can't come soon enough. Their next ballgame will be played there, and on a day like this, I'm hoping Clipper Nation can take some solace in that fact. We're going to the Dome. The Dome is home, Adam. Let's go. Oh turn in the page, new court, new logo, all new and hopefully

all good for the Clippers, Adam. And I'm sure you'll talk about it a little bit, but the two one three era, we'll see if it continues. Kawhi Leonard, though he'll still be in a Clipper uniform, and Kawhi Leonard is healthy and playing, there's a lot of confidence in whatever Clipper team is out there. Well, Carlo, I want to congratulate you and thank you on the job you've done in your first year as the radio voice of the Clippers. It's been an honor to work next to you, and

I'm ready to run it back with my friend. Let's go at him. I want to thank you, Thank Katie Newton, Brian dansel Blake, where big brother, Jake Warner, so many people who helped us throughout this. It was is an honor to call you guys coworkers at first, and I am so proud, and it is an honor to call you all friends now, Adam, can't wait, can't wait? Can't wait is the great no E would say, Let's do it again in the dome. Let's do it again. Carl it my friend. I love you, Safe travels back.

I'm sure I'll see you soon, all right, Love you too, Adam. Have a good one. Enjoy those callers. Coming up next, we will have Clippers talk on the Patriot AM eleven fifty as they lose by thirteen in Dallas in Game six, and you're listening to the Patriot AM eleven fifty in the Los Angeles Clippers Audio Network. Back to more of the NBA playoffs on the LA Clippers Audio Network. Clippers Mavericks continues now stream us anywhere you

go on the iHeartRadio app. The Clippers lose Game six one, fourteen to one oh one in Dallas to the Mavericks and their season comes to an end. Welcome back into your Clippers postgame locker room show. I'm at a Mosland coming up on the Patriot AM eleven fifty. We'll have Clippers talk for you. Eight seven seven five to two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven, five to two zero eleven fifty. We can talk about PJ. Tucker starting.

We can talk about Paul George, the moves you're looking for this off season. We'll recap some of what happened this year as well, but pertain to this game. It's quite simple. Kyrie Irving had twenty eight of his thirty points in the second half. They had the better duo no Kawhi Leonard, a whole lot of problems for the Clippers. Luka Dancis finished with twenty eight,

just nine of twenty six. They defended him well, one of ten from the outside, but the Clippers were eight for thirty one from three, and their three points shooting really fell off a cliff a few months ago. They never really recovered after that twenty six and five run first fifty games of the season. Best three points shooting team in the league, and they never were able to recapture that, and that's a big part of their offense. But credit to Dallas Mavericks. I tried to do my best to be fair

and balanced. And lets you know, going into this series, how the Dallas Mavericks were playing and how they were a different ball club, much better defensively since the trade deadline. Some people mocked it, mocked Luca said,

Kyrie Irving isn't a playoff performer anymore. Well, he just did the Clippers in twenty eight of his thirty in the second half, and their defense lived up to the hype, holding the Clippers to one hundred and one points as their offense for the most part in this series failed them, which I think coming into it would have been unexpected for most people to hear coming out of it, they weren't good enough on that end. The effort was there.

Defensively, I thought they did flip a switch there. They went from being a bottom three defense the final couple months of the season to looking like a top ten defense one to fourteen even in this game. That's your average NBA points in a game this season. With the pace they play out with a

three point shooting going on, not even that bad of a number. Game five got a little bit out of hand, giving up one twenty three but one hundred and eleven points in the Clippers Game four victory, and they lost two games Game two where Dallas had just ninety six points, in Game three, where Dallas had just one hundred and one points. Those games were very winnable, especially Game two. They had Kawhi Leonard. He looked better in

that one. Clippers didn't get it done down the stretch, and they laid an egg in Game five and put themselves in this position where coming into this one full disclosure, I thought they were either gonna have a gretty victory or lose big. Unfortunately the former in this case. Mavericks led by the many as twenty four rig of the ladder, I was good, those too confused

Dallas led by as Manius twenty four, they went by thirteen. The Clippers made a little bit of a run towards the end, but it was a tie ball game at the half, and the Clippers had Pjchucker in the starting lineup. He ended up a minus fourteen in the ballgame. But it was strange to me as everyone was perplexed by him getting the start after not playing

consequential minutes at all in this series. And not only did he start in the first half, but after the Clippers went on a run to end the second quarter to tie the ball game at fifty two at the half, he still started the third quarter, and that's when things started to unravel. I'm not putting in on one guy, but he was a minus twenty one heading into the fourth. No one else was worse than a minus ten out there. Just didn't seem to work. That move. Gotta be honest about that.

Coach lou going with his rider or die guys. I guess went out the way he wanted to this season. But strange move in a Game six, a must win ball game. We'll talk about it on Clippers Stock eight seven seven five to two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five to two zero eleven fifty. I don't know if that was the difference, but to start that third quarter, I was looking for Norman Powell to be in the starting lineup in place of him, because that's how they got the game tied up

at the end of the second quarter. We'll get into this a little bit more coming up here again. We'll be on the Patriot eleven fifty with Clippers stock eight seven seven five to two zero eleven fifty. Or you can get to me and trol me on twitters. Some have interesting Lakers fans are choosing to troll. I mean, I think they're out too bad. File out of May Clippers season comes to an end. The Dallas Mavericks are moving on to take on the OKAC Thunder and Round two as they win Game six one,

fourteen to one oh one. I'm Ada Masland and you're listening to the Los Angeles Clippers Audio Network streaming Clippers basketball the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Continue to sick to more NBA playoff basketball right here on the LA Clippers Audio Network. Clippers fall in Game six one, fourteen to one oh one to the Dallas Mavericks, and their season has ended, once again, unceremoniously, once again without the Larry O. B once again without Kawhi Leonard on

the floor for the final game of the playoffs. It is disappointing. It is frustrating, discouraging, incomprehensible in some ways. The two to one three era likely over to some degree, and if in twenty nineteen, five years later, in twenty twenty four, someone would have told me, oh, they will have won three playoff series total after bringing in Kawhi and Paul George, I would have said, your nuts, your line, there's no way the world must have ended. I get a Clipper Nation, I'm down bad

with you. They lose by thirteen. It could be Paul George's PG thirteen's final game as a Clipper, six for eighteen, two of ten from three eighteen points, did have eleven boards, five steals, but had fourteen of his eighteen in the first half. Couldn't find it in the second half. James Harden five was sixteen, did have thirteen assistan one turnover, but sixteen points on sixteen shafts not good enough. Terrence Man liked his fight was Zubat's,

same as last game. Russell Westbrook finished the last five games of this series, going six for forty two from the field, as he finished with six points in nine minutes and was just honestly struggling to a degree. I don't know if I've seen shooting wise in a playoff series. Gotta be honest about that. Norman Powell led them with twenty. Norman Powell was very consistent all season long and after getting off to a slow start in this series,

much better the last four games. But the difference Kyrie Irving has thirty, Luka Doncic has twenty eight. They combined for fifty eight points and meanwhile, Paul George and James Harden combined for thirty four. It's about the stars the

dudes. In the playoffs, Clippers don't have their number one option and the other two stars didn't play above their heads the level they needed to for the Clippers to survive in this series against a very good Dallas Mavericks team that I said, if they don't have Kawhi Leonard will likely beat the Clippers, and that is what happened. We can talk about it eight seven seven five to two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty outside of Los

Angeles, leaving you till next year. Clippers will open the End to It Dome that will offer some new hope. Expect some major changes across the board. Interested to see what happens this summer. We'll talk about those possibilities coming up next locally on the Patriot AM eleven fifty on Clippers Stock. This has been LA Clippers Basketball really good on multitude of levels. they were in attack mode. Adam Osley Brown bets the rebound of Boston back to Kobe in the corner, jumps in the air, looks for help, skips it highland the right wings, three off the left side of the ram, last in the rebound, and now we'll do it. The Clippers fall in six here in twenty twenty four, their season ends in Dallas as they are defeated one fourteen one oh one and dropped the opening series four games to two. And you hear the PA announcer Aaron Dallas MAVs win the final game

of the season. The Clippers get twenty from Norman pal eighteen from Paul George, seventeen and eleven from each to watch George also a double double. This the first time the Clippers have lost this season when George has a double double six for Westbrook on two for seven. Meanwhile, for Dallas it was Kyrie Irvan in the second half. He was really a man with magic in his

hands, twenty eight points in the second half. Luca had twenty eight on the night, And for Dallas they were able to get it done at home, the first time they were able to close out a series in this building since two and eleven when they took down Oklahoma City and went to the finals, of course, defeating the Miami Heat in that series. Well, it's been an absolute pleasure. Couldn't ask for a better Clipper community. In year

one, Clippers fall in this one. The final season record fifty three and thirty four, thirty one and twenty five, and they dropped round one in six to Dallas. Well, as we learned in cocktail, if you use a drink, everything ends badly. Otherwise it wouldn't end. Carlo Jimenez on the call there. As the Clippers season comes to a close, they lose Game six one, fourteen to one on one in Dallas to the Mavericks who are moving on to take on the OKC Thunder. Welcome into Clippers Talk.

I'm at a Mosland eight seven seven five to two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven, five to two zero eleven fifty. We will get to your phone calls. We will have Will Updyke and Charles maclaurn, We'll hear from coach lou and what's more of an exit interview. Now to this season as it's come to its unfortunate conclusion once again, the Clippers going out without Kawhi Leonard able to play in the final game for the fourth straight season, unbelievable.

Honestly, it's it is hard to imagine a scenario this difficult when you go back to twenty nineteen when two to one three was put together, when they traded Sga who's now waiting for Luka Dancic in the second round. And I'm not second guessing it because every GM in the NBA would have done that move. He traded for Paul George to make sure Kawhi signed with you. Kawhi Leonard for the four straight season, either hasn't been available to start a playoff

run or to end a playoff run. That is hard to believe. Clipper Nation, so we can all be in community. I'm right there with you. It's going to be a struggle tonight. Looking for positives. The one that comes to mind right away is the end to a dome next season. But right now, heads will be haying low as the Clippers season comes to an end in six games to a Dallas Mavericks team that I thought the Clippers at least could compete against and have a chance against, even without Kawhi Leonard.

And you could say they won two games without him. The two games he tried to play, especially Game three, he was a fraction of himself, a shell of himself, not sure he should have been playing Game two. There was some hope, but I tried to warn people it's not about him playing that first game, it's about how he responds afterwards. He didn't respond. His knee didn't respond the way they wanted it to. You could see it in game three. Credit him trying to go. Eventually they shut

him down. After that one. Lawrence Frank said, enough, the season is shutting down an era, maybe shutting down of Clippers basketball the two and three era the blink of an eye. We're five years in and they have won a total of three playoff rounds. One round in the Bubble against Dallas, one round against Dallas in the first round the year after, and the

second round against the Utah jass That's it five seasons. So I think it's fair to say it's been a failure because of extremely bad luck with the right

knee of Kawhi Leonard, who is still on a three year extension. Now we're hoping it's nothing more serious than the inflammation that for whatever reason, unfortunately they couldn't get under control over a month, going back to his last game of the regular season in Charlotte, where he played sixty eight games and looked like a damn MVP candidate this year, and of course Clipper's luck, he gets hurt right before the playoffs after looking to be all the way back,

and then some from his twenty twenty one form coming off the ACL and then last year the meniscus. This year inflammation tough. Tough to see a path forward right now, difficult to know what the next step is as the Clippers just had a game where they started PJ Tucker, a guy who I believe only played at the end of Game five after they were down thirty so inconsequential minutes, and he got the start, and he was a minus twenty one

after three quarters. Interested to hear from coach lew on that decision. Obviously it's going to be second guest. We'll face it head on. I was shocked we had law murray on as it became known live that it was going to be PJ. Tucker in the starting lineup, not Russ, not Norm PJ Tucker. I don't know if that's the reason they lost the game, but I think it's obvious it didn't help. A lot of guys didn't play well enough. Paul George six of eighteen. This could be his last game

as a Clipper. He's got an option he could pick up for about fifty million for next season, but he'll likely become a free agent. James Harden, He's an unrestricted free agent. Russell Westbrook I believe is as well. Or it's a team option. And Russ ended up going eight for his last forty two from the field in the last five games of this series. To coach lose credit. He only let him play nine minutes in this game.

He was on a tighter and tighter leash, the worse he got. But it goes back to this team was built around Kawhi Leonard and when he's there, everything could fall into place. Roles are defined, the pecking order is defined, and he's a killer in the playoffs when he's available. And we have to keep putting that caveat in there because I can't spin it any other damn way. Kawhi Leonard has been my favorite player going back to San Antonio

days, because of his defense, his stoic demeanor. He's a hard ass, he's tough, he rises and meets the moment. He's a two time Finals MVP. He brought the Toronto Raptors their only championship, and we thought he was going to be able to do the same for the Clippers. And so far five years in, every season has ended with heartbreak and outside the bubble, every season has ended with him not being able to play. He's on a three year extension. I don't think he's going anywhere. We just

hope for better health. But I understand where the cynicism comes from, mentioning it Paul George consistently inconsistent for a star, for a MAX player. Love the guy, don't know if he'll be back. Thought James Harden was probably their best player in this series outside of my X factor Vita Zubats, who had seventeen and eleven almost a double double in the first half. So just

got up eleven shots. Amazing to me. Amazing to me that you have a game one that you win with the Viza Zubots getting seventeen shots and the most he got in the game the rest of the series was twelve. Never will understand that Never will understand their propensity to go away from Big Zoo. There's an easier path to victory when jumpers aren't falling a Vita Zubats has to be more involved. He's still twenty seven, he's still under contract. Really

hoping they make him more of a focal point next year. Well, we have a moment. Let's pause ten seconds for station identification. Here on the Patriot M eleven fifty, this is LA Clippers Basketball AM eleven fifty k e IV Los Angeles about and iHeartRadio station. So there was a report earlier today from Adrian Warzharowski that said, regardless of the outcome of this series. Coach Lou Well the Clippers were looking to make him an offer, a contract extension.

I don't think it's a coincidence that after Darwinham was let go by the Lakers that that news dropped. Seemed like they want to make sure that Coach Lou knows he's their guy. He has one more year left on his deal. Sounds like that could be ripped up and reworked into an extension. But I know a lot of people tonight are gonna be asking why PG Tucker in that spot, Why guy who hardly played this season, was you're in case of emergency break glass player in Game six and a must win game in Dallas.

I found it to be a head scratcher, a little bit confounding. I also love coach Lou. I don't know if there's a better coach out there. I think he and Eric Spolstra are the best two guys. Every guy has their buying spots, every guy has their favorites. I think we've seen that a little bit with Coach Lou the past couple of seasons. But if this team's healthy, I feel like he gives you the best chance to win. Can they ever be healthy. I don't know at this point.

It was Einstein's definition of insanity, you know it. But they don't have a lot of options. I believe in the front office they could get creative. But if your solution tonight is trade Kawhi, let Paul George go start over and weep over SGA, maybe gains to the Western Conference finals, that's not much of a solution because I don't know if there's anything they can do with the Kawhi Leonard situation, his health and the extension. Now, players

typically don't get healthier as they get older. Might just have to cross our fingers when you sign the extension. That night, Lawrence Frank said everybody can get injured, but not everybody can be a top five player when they're available. That's true. It's just the timing and how unfortunate it is after the season he had, and I know Kawhi wants to play more than anyone, and he's more devastated and frustrated than anyone, and it's just unfortunate he wasn't

able to go in this series and be himself. The two games he played that wasn't Kawhi Leonard. Game three that looked like a guy who lost his basketball powers. I don't know if he should have been playing. There was some talk and murmurs of well, maybe the Clippers are better without him. They're gonna win the series without him. Marvin in downtown La ask me if I believe. I try to be straight with you, Yeah, I don't know if he can win this series without Kawhi Leonard. Guys, I've seen

Dallas. I saw the moves they made at the trade deadline. Some people called him nobody's like the clip cast. Guys, the Clippers were going to sweep and Kawhi Leonard was going to be fully healthy. That didn't work out. Sadly, I wish it was true. I really wish we weren't in this situation. Once again, here's the hope. Steve Balmer. I believe in Steve Balmer. I believe he is committed to building a sustainable winner that can get to the top of the mountain, and he won't rest until that

happens. That's the one thing you just have to hang on to. The guy just built an arena with his own money. He's committed. He's here. We've heard him say there could be years where they're not as talented, but they're never going to bottom out. He wants a competitor. You're in and year out. Clippers are the four seed this year. We'll see what roster moves and how they construct it and how that transpires moving forward. Now a lot of decisions to be made. But I can't stress it enough.

You went from having the worst owner in sports to ten years ago getting Steve Balmer, who I believe and call me a company man. All you want is the best owner because he's passionate about his team. He delegates, he doesn't meddle. He puts the right people in charge. And the reason the Clippers have come up short is simply because bad luck with injuries. You have a chance to get Kawhi Leonard, you do it every time. No one could have foreseen this. Again, no one's more frustrated than Kawhi. No

one wants to be out there more than him. All season long, he was talking about trying to take this team to a place they had never been. Felt like there was some unfinished business with him tearing his aco in twenty twenty one, when I fully believed that if that doesn't occur, that misstep Joe ingles the Clippers win it that season. But no use harping on it.

Can't look back, have to move forward. Who let's start things off with Javier and Lahabra heights here on Clippers Talk after their twenty twenty three twenty twenty four season comes to an end. Welcome in, Javier Alwa's up that thank you for taking on call like always. And I told you this a couple of years ago. I had seen the writing on the wall. I mean, now worrying. What twenty twenty four and since twenty nineteen? What

is it? Just one Western Conference finals? Me disappointment? I mean this is honestly you You compared TYLERU with Eric Spostra in the same not in the same planet, Adam, how can you compare them? Tyler won a championship because he had Lebron, Kevin Love and Kyrie how their expolser winning championships? Do tell he's gone to Adam's gone to final, Jimmy Butler, Adam, He's gone to Yeah in the East, They're not getting out of the West

with that team. He didn't he got the first round. Anyways, listen, forget about Tyler. I mean, if you want to say he's a good coach. Why did he start PJ. Tucker? He should have started Norman Power. No, Powe was a plus six, Tucker was a minus twenty one, like you said, by the end of the third quarter, he should have started Powell. And then I think you mentioned Zubac. The first game he was dominated. He should have went back with him and he

didn't. Got a good coach, Come on, Adam. And I'm not saying he's I'm not say he's a back coach, Adam, but don't compare them to Eric's sculture. There's no way netting, Adam. You know what, Like you said, Kaw, I want to play. I understand he doesn't want to play, but you know what is not working out. There's a reason the letter. So what's the solution, Javier. I'm looking for solutions tonight, not just airing of grievances. And if you're gonna tell me

to hold on, I'm just gonna throw you on hold. So what's the solution? Do you have one, Javier? What's the plan? I do? You know what I do? You know? What's just your arena? Go with young players, Adam. These players are old Paul George. How they gonna get the young players. You know many draft picks they have not a solution. Well, that was a frustrating first start. We're off on the wrong foot here on Clippers Talk. I just need something realistic, attainable,

tangible, something that can actually be donekauh. I just got three year extension. I don't think he's going anywhere. We'll take a quick time out, We'll go somewhere, we'll get back to you. Eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty. Look, if you want to vent, and I let him vent talking about coach Lou and some of the moves, that's fine. But at some point gotta keep it moving. I don't just want a woe is Me type of show tonight

to end this season. You gotta be some positives. There gotta be some solutions for this looking hard for him. Right now, you're listening to Clippers stock. You're on the Patriot Am Love fifty, Bill Mavericks and the Clippers. This is the NBA Playoffs on the La Clippers Audio Network, stream US anywhere you go on the iHeartRadio app. I've tried to be as honest as

possible. Over a month ago when I said I was concerned about Kawhi Leonard and his right knee, and people came after me and said, it's just gamesmanship. They're just lit managing him before the end of the season. And I came back at you and said, yeah, I'm pretty sure if he was healthy, he would have played that game against Denver. It was a big one. They won it anyways without him. Never bought into that it

was just load management. Well, unfortunately I was right. I tried to set up this series fairly by the way the Dallas Mavericks had been playing post trade deadline. Their defense, they're turned around on that end. PJ. Washington, Daniel Gafford, Hey, Washington had four threes in this game. They brought those guys in. They had been a top ten defense the last thirty five games of the season. I wasn't trying to set you up for

disappointment, and I wasn't trying to give you false hope. I was trying to give you the God's honest truth. So when something like this happens, you're not looking at me like you're listening to me. Going But Adam, you said everything was fine and the Clippers were gonna win four. No, I'm trying to keep some credibility whatever I got. Be honest with the analysis. I thought it was concerning with Kauhi. I felt like they couldn't win

the series without him. That's what played out. It's unfortunate. Hey, welcome back in the Clippers stock. I'm out of Maslin eight seven seven five to zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five to two zero eleven fifty And yeah, even Luka Doncics and Kyrie Irvings defense was better heard about it figured it must have been better. It was do the Clippers win this series with Kawhi? Of course, I think that my series prediction with him was Clippers in

six with a healthy Kawhi. But we've been saying that a lot the last five years. If under the assumption that he'll be healthy and every playoff run, it's not his fault. His body is betraying him. No one is more frustrated than him. He's the one whose legacy, unfortunately, I'm sure, is going to be hurt by the way some people talk about him and being injury prone, and that's what you might remember instead of a two times Finals MVP and a guy trying to lead the Clippers now to their first ever

championship. If they could get one damn run with Kawhi Leonard healthy, it could happen. He's that good. That's the hope into a dome and you got Steve Baumer. That's what I can offer you tonight. I know a lot of people are gonna be in a dark place, especially after the highs

of this year, them going twenty six and five. The piece is fitting perfectly with James Harden and then for things to fall apart at the end of the year because of a similar fate injury to Kawhi Leonard, Morris and Inglewood. I'm sure I'll bring some positivity here. Morris, what's up? But I like to know when are they gonna be opening up into a statement. They're gonna have an open house in August sometimes h Adam. Yeah, it's called a Bruno Mars concert. That'll be the opening. I don't I don't

know. I don't know. They're gonna do some tours or anything like that. I don't have the information on that. But it's going to be the best place in the world to watch a basketball game, period. I love it that you add, all right, Morris, appreciate you as always. Eddie and Rancho Kook. What's up Eddie? Hey Adam? How you doing, Bud? Are you've heard like I'm okay, I'm I don't want to become numbs to this stuff. But it's a similar story. The cliche we're

seeing this movie before. I hate when people say that, but I guess it's appropriate here. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Clipper curse, all these things, Clip's gonna clip all that stuff that's coming out tonight. I've heard it all. It's just bad luck with Kawi's Rightney. It's as simple as that. So you know, I've been a fan for over forty years. I'm fifty five years old, Ukay. I became a fan when the Clippers did the Norm Nixon Byron Scott trade. That's the year I

became a fan. I was a high school kid. Been a fan ever since. And you know, I'm with you. Five years since the two one three got put together, it's been a failure. You know, we have to look at that objectively, honestly, because I remember when they lost in the Bubble and Lawrence Frank came out afterwards and said, you have to take a hard look at yourself and the situation and see where you failed. That is the only way to learn. And I think it's the same situation

right now. Yep. I agree with you one hundred percent on that. It's it's you know, it's sad to say it being a Clipper fan all these years, yeah, being a failure. You know, I've got friends of mine same thing, die hard Clipper fans. We've been season ticket all as my wife and I for over twenty years. And you know it's sad. I mean, I mean, I've been I've been this. I've been down and sad, you know since two nights ago when we were at the

at the last home game. And I'll tell you honestly, going to that game, the energy in the arena that night, there was no energy. And you know, I was talking to some of the medical staff on the team. I don't know if I should even say this, but I know that my wife and I know them, they're friends of ours. And I'll be honest with you. Us having to rely, you know, as fans, having to rely on PG and Harden to pull this out for us, you know. You know, Adam, again, like you said, objectively,

their reputation in the playoffs. It's never been that good. Yeah, those two guys. It's been up and down. Fair Yeah, Yeah, it's been up and down. Harden. You know everywhere he's been, whether it's been Houston, Brooklyn, Philly now with us. You know, friends of mine kept on asking me throughout the season, what do you think Harden? You know, he he's the insurance, you know, in case somebody was to get hurt. I said, you know what, I'm not going

to say anything till the season he's done. If he I hope he proves me wrong. During the playoffs, he didn't. Well, look, James Harden wasn't He wasn't brought in to be the second guy. He was brought into aid two, one, three without Kawhi. Even if you get out of this round, you're not going much further. When people were talking about maybe they're better without Kawhi, he threw off their chemistry, which was absurd

to me. But I know he wasn't looking like himself. But you had to have this team, Hoole, whoever wins it all is going to have their stars available for the vast majority of the playoffs. You got it. No, I agree with you. One hundred percent on that. So you were thinking you were asking about a solution. Yeah, I agree. I

think I think we're limited on what we can do. I think definitely, you know, if they can convince, if if pg's willing to go somewhere else and they can do an extension with him, like a sign and trade, I think that's they can't do a sign and trade because they're hardcast. Can they can't? Okay, I don't believe that's an option. I appreciate the phone call, though, Eddie in some good perspective. Let's talk again in game one next year, all right, at the end of a dome,

Okay, definitely, we'll be there for the first day. I know the into a dome will be hyped. Yeah, it's it's tough. Their last game in downtown Los Angeles with thirty point loss, kind of figure that would be it. The way that unfolded, I didn't have a ton of hope for today. I wanted to, but I've watched both these teams. I knew how good Dallas was. So you tip your cap to the Dallas

Mavericks after Game one. They were the more physical team and their duo outplayed Paul George and James Harden period Clippers with Kawhi, Yeah, of course I think they win the series. Neither here nor there, Paul and Rancho Kook, Paul, what's up here on Clipper stock with that? Amason h Eric Eric, I'm sorry, I Adam so with solutions, I'm looking at the top, say twenty five free agents? Are you saying then that Paul George? You know they re signed him. Obviously Kawhi is on the books,

they don't they can't bring in another top tier free agent. I look at Boston. They could bring in James Harden because they have his birds rights and they could go over the cap to bring him back. And I should mention that when Kawhi Leonard got his extension the first game after that, that night he did mention polls Game two reporters that he said something to the effect of

pretty sure everybody's for the most part is coming back. So I don't know, I don't know if what happened in the playoffs changes that, but right, okay, So I'm just thinking, let's say they move on from James Harden for whatever reason, It's not gonna work. You're not gonna be able to bring in another guy who makes thirty five million or forty million, like James Harden will it doesn't. You don't just lose that and you can plug in somebody else for that amount of salary. You can go over the cap

for the guys that are already in house. So I appreciate the phone call. I just got to keep moving here, Sean and Inglewood. Sean, what's up here on Clippers? Stop for that? Amazon, Hey, my friend, thank you for the line. First of all, let me apologize. I called in a couple of games ago, fell asleep. I was waiting on hold, so well, that doesn't make me feel any better. Sean. No, well it was alone night. But anyway I'm getting is

something that you talked about. And here's my problem with what happened in twenty nineteen. When Kuhai made the demand, he made the demand at the last minute. And so if he had to let the Clippers in on what he wanted to do when his designs were then they wouldn't have had to give with me. Tell me how you know it was the last minute. Tell me how you know it was the last minute. Explain that that's what they did. No, No, they didn't say that it just happened. When it

happened. It happened on a Friday night during an earthquake. It wasn't there was no deadline. There was no deadline. He was an unrestricted free agent. Sean, can we stick to the facts tonight, please, my friend, please, can we deal with things that actually happened? Sean. Remember they were following him the church and everywhere, but there was yes, because

they were waiting for him to make a decision. But there wasn't some deadline where he went out on Twitter and said this is the date or this is when free agency. I'm going to make my decision. Jehan, He thought about it. It wasn't a rash decision. He thought about it. That's the truth. I understand that. Can I finish well? If you understood it, why did you just say the opposite. That's where I'm confused. I understand your point that you're making, but I don't have to agree with

it. I'm saying there, I've heard what was kid, and he was. He was straddling the fence for such a long time, and when he finally made his decision, he put pressure on the Clippers, so the Clippers gave up a haul. Yes, that part did happen. That didn't mean it was a quick decision. That did not mean it was a quick decision. Sean, there's a difference. There's nuance. They gave up a little bit more, a whole lot more than what they should have gave up for

Paul. George. Well, I didn't hear from you that night when it happened saying that. So I'm going to say this is a revisionist history, and I get it. It's frustrating, Sean, but I can't live in the past like this, and you visit a trade that every GM in the history of nbagms would have made. I just can't. Nobody at that time thought SGA would have sent to this level this quickly. Certainly nobody would have

thought five years later the Clippers would have won three playoff series total. Nobody would have thought Kawhi Leonard and his right knee would have this much trouble. So you want a Monday morning quarterback. It's just weak because I remember the show I did right after it happened on Saturday, and I didn't hear anyone say they gave up too much, not a one. Because you made the move for Paul George to get Kawhi Leonard, who had just won Finals MVP

and was the unanimous at that time. Believe it or not, he was the unanimous number one player in the world. People say he took the crown from Lebron James. That's the talk that was out there. Go look it up. Anything else is just revisionist. We'll take a quick time out. I really try not to get that frustrated. Maybe I should have taken a call from Sean who disagrees with the actual things that happen. If you want to live in your own world, cool, but it wasn't a rash or

quick decision by Kawhi And going back to that, what's the point? What's the point right now? How does that improve the team now? How is that a solution? You want to feel like I told you so well, Nobody told me that. In twenty nineteen, Nobody Clippers lose by thirteen and their season comes to an end. They fall in Game six and Dallas the Mavericks coming up. We'll have it from Chuck Macklin, Will Updyke. Let me get into the PJ. Tucker decision and actual things that can change moving

forward. I'm at a Moslims here listening to the Patriot amleven fifty Back to more of the NBA playoffs. I'm the La Clippers to your network, Clippers Mavericks continues now stream us anywhere you go on the iHeartRadio app. Clippers season ends on a sour note once again, Kawhi Leonard unavailable and that's how another playoff run ends. Clippers lose Game six one, fourteen to one on one in Dallas to the Mavericks, Welcome back in the Clipper stock. I'm at

a Maslin. You're listening to the Patriot AM eleven fifty eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty is the phone number you hear the music. We got Chuck and Will on one phone. We're gonna make this work. Two guys, one phone. It can be done. Let's start here with Will because he picked up first and I did call his phone number. Not a lot of pleasantries tonight. I know everybody's down and defeated. We've been getting a lot of calls about it. But

Will, I just want to get your reaction. So the situation when PJ. Tucker starting tonight, how surprised you were. I had low murray on pregame as it was announced, and it was mouth agape. There were no words, just the move. How it played out, is that the reason they lost the game? How'd you see it? All? Right? So I want to say that I was not surprised by this. As soon as I heard that there was going to be a change in the starting lineup. You know, I said this month ago, PJ Tucker, you sucked.

You should start him because there's no other way to hide him. Then there's no better way to hide him than around your best players. But look, if there was going to be a change to the starting lineup, it was either him or Russell Westbrook. And I think that from what we've seen so far, PJ fit the mold a little bit better for what they needed to meet. PJ. Tucker is not the reason that they lost this game. It was once again the same thing that we've seen DROW series, was that

they're offense really failed to ignite. I will say though, we got another consistent performance from James Harden, who I mean surprisingly, I gotta be perfectly honest with you, I did not expect this coming into the series, but was really their best performer offensively. Yeah, I mean he was five of sixteen, but sixteen points and thirteen assists to one turnover. It's not great that that ended up being their best player tonight, but he probably was.

He interveats the Zubas, I think were the two best players this series, their two most consistent guys throughout. Paul George did not finish top two. In my book, I didn't say it was perfect. You never heard me say it was perfect. No, you're right, you're right. It's just it's the best of the worst because it wasn't a good series all around for a lot of different players. When you talk about so many guys struggling offensively,

collectively, this team really struggled. But I know Chuck's the bigger fan of PJ. Tucker, so I do want to hear from him regarding him darting tonight. Charles, how'd you feel about PJ Tucker? Were you surprised? Shocked? I did tweet out something that was kind of sarcastic, kind of jokingly. I said, it's either gonna be Norm or Russ or dot dot dot PJ. Tucker just a guess. Even though I gave like three of them. That was the joke. I was pretty much going with every

guy I could have been. So how'd you feel about it, Charles? I think I bummed out to say that. I wasn't super surprised, but I was still confused, if that makes sense. Because the Clippers, it seems like starting PJ Tucker Tylu wanted to lead in the defense, which is you know, missing Kwi Leonard is obviously worse. You mean because they've actually been better on that end than on offense this series. So it didn't make that much sense. Yes, thank you. Yeah, no, I'm just

interpreting that. I'm not projecting. I'm interpreting, But you're right right, that's the that's been the issue. Like Will said too, the offense has been kind of rough and inserting PJ. Tucker into the lineup is not a way to make the offense any better. But yeah, he did hit one three. He also looked terrified underneath the rim when he did hit the layup,

but it took him like a weird pump fake. But but having to start PJ Tucker in game six in a do or die game is what happens when Kawhi Leonard is hurt and it's what happens when the rest of the roster partly gets neglected and partly isn't playable in the playoffs. Yeah, that's I don't know. I'm still a little raw about the whole thing. Uh yeah, well go on. I mean, Paul George, this could have been his last game as a Clipper. I said to Will, I think in

this series. Yeah, definitely, James Harden. I think James Harden and the Visa Zubats were their top two players in this series. Yeah, that's hard to argue you didn't. I mean, does do you have the most field goals even made? Just total? I think I don't know who tweeted that out earlier today, but Zo has the most field goals made obviously on a way better percent because they're so close. But it was out of here. It was a goofy season and or sorry, it was a goofy playoffs.

Rotation wise, Daniel Tye not getting any minute at all is after how he played during the regular season and saved them in a tough time. After Mason Plumley went down, everybody was wondering who they're going to pick up, and Daniel Tye like he gave them more than they could have asked for this

year. And outside that fourth quarter in Game four, Mason Plumbley was brutal in this series, and maybe part of it was because he was on the floor with Russell Westbrook and those lineups just did not work and Russell Westbrook's shot did not work. Six. No, I want to get to be the accurate here because the stands are going to come after me. Eight for forty two the last five games. That is that might be an all time record? You do, Yeah, that's that ideal. It's tough. Uh,

you know, Russ isn't the reason they lost. Ultimately, the reason they lost was just Paul George, not Kawhi Leonard not be there, was Kawhi not being there, and I feel like everything gets compounded more. But the Russ performance, it's very difficult to see any positive and he has the backseat driver and will right now is killing me. Come on, yeah, I mean, hey, uh, he's laming Paul George. I don't know if that's fully accurate. Running down George Paul's box scores through those games, through

those six games, okay, okay, fair? Would you say he had two good games total in this six game series generously, Yet you're giving him game one and obviously game four. Yeah, So what do you think happens with Paul George this summer now? Well, George Paul, I don't know, man. I think that Steve Bomber pays him because he opened a new stadium. But I would say let him go to Philly and let him see

what those fans think when he has those performances. It's tough to stand behind him after this series because I've given him a ton of love for what he did in twenty twenty one, being able to lead them to the Western Conference Finals without Kawhi Leonard. But it's three years ago now. Two games out of six is in saying yeah, and we thought they had a real chance

at least when they initially brought in James Harden. That hey, one of two and three goes down, James Harden next to whoever is left could be enough. Eh, didn't happen. I appreciate you guys in the work we've been able to do together in our second season with clips and dip and you guys coming on with me on clipper stock and doing some double dip all year long. The first round of the NBA Playoffs continues. Back to more NBA Playoff basketball right here on the La Clippers Audio Network. More salt than Pepper, Uh tonight, I guess Salta in the house. Shout out Fred Rogan. I think will be hanging out with him on Monday again. Clippers lose in Dallas in Game six one, fourteen to one on one. Their season has come to an end once again. Kawhi Leonard not able to finish off a playoff

series. It's unfortunate. Let's hear from coach Lou postgame. After this Clippers twenty twenty four playoff campaign comes to an end. You know, so when you come into a house of environment like this, you can't give up eighteen offensive rebounds, you know, you got to secure those balls and hit bodies in which we talked about coming into the series. And then I just thought, you know, in that first half, I thought Zoo was dead, you know, after you had to play twenty two minutes in the first half

just to just just kind of get back in the game. We were down thirteen, and PG and James as well, playing twenty two minutes and caught up with us, and you saw that, you know, in the third quarter, you know, into the fourth that you know, we just ran gas, you know, and so Kyrie excellent performance in the second half, only having two at halftime and then up with twenty eight. I thought we did a good job mixing up our coverages, you know, with Luca trying

to keep him up balance. But overall, like I said, I'm proud of my guys, and you know, I'm happy. I was happy, you know, with the opportunity, and I'm happy to work the guys put in to get to this point. Coach Lou their post game talking about the Clippers errors where it went awry, giving up too many offensive rebounds. They had four on one possession in the first quarter, they had ten after the first quarter. The turnovers and the unraveling to start that third quarter also did

them in along with well they went small late. But I could understand it. As he mentioned, Big Zoo did look a little bit gassed out. There wasn't boxing out, went to PJ Tucker at the five, didn't work out. That's what Coach Lou's most comfortable with. We're hoping for better next season, Clibernation. We are proud to be a part of this organization of in a small way, proud to be a part of Clipper Nation. Do
