Transcript

The game is over. Paul George money in the pain, but the postgame reaction has just begun. Kawhi Leonard is so smooth in the mid range. This is Clippers Locker Room, a recap of today's game and a look ahead on your hope for LA Clippers basketball. And now your host, You, sir, are a bad man, Adam Ousley. Clippers fall in Utah one twenty five to one twelve on the second night of a back to back. Welcome into your postgame show. Coming up. We got postgame audio from the

head coach and the players, plus second half highlights. But first, I'm back to Utah, back to Salt Lake City with Noah Eagle. No. Just the start of that third quarter. The Clippers have just three turnovers in the first half. They have four in the first three minutes of that third quarter and could never really find their groove. Yeah, and that's really it. It just felt like they had it in their grasp. It was right there. They brought to within three, but the turnovers in the start of

the third quarter certainly plagued them. And then it came back to them in the early fourth quarter stages. They had it and they really did it. Felt like it was gonna be a mere image of first, third quarter, second fourth quarter, and the Clippers were going to snatch the momentum back, snatch the advantage back just wasn't meant to be. And look, there are plenty of reasons for it, but certainly playing on the second out of a

back to back doesn't help. Already shorthand and missing four key rotation players, not just oh, you know four a rotation, No, No, missing Kawhi Leonard Paul George, who between the two of them have more than ten All Star appearances, They've got twelve. You're missing Luke Nard, who led the league at three point percentage last year and has been shooting the lights out once again this season. And then you're missing Norman Pale, who last night

had thirty two points and twenty two and the fourth quarter. They just didn't have that extra common presence of having those guys out there. And as great as John Wall was, he couldn't do it by himself. Reggie Jackson, I think, certainly wasn't one hundred percent and still played a very good game. But Marcus Moore struggled a mere coffee struggled. Thought Terrence Man did a

great job defensively, but probably could have used a little more offense. Subots was relatively quiet all things considered, after back to back big double doubles. But overall, it just felt like the Clippers ran out of gas, and that's just bound to happen with the team that's already shorthanded and playing a whole lot of basketball in very little time. Down twelve in the first half, led by two at the half, got down by fourteen in the third quarter.

They did make a run and Luca Diabatte was on the court for that. He finished with eleven and eight. He even showed off a little fadeaway jumper there at the end. Are you just gonna bring him up every time? Adam, whether he's in the G League or not, Diabotes looked really good. I give you your props. I give everybody else who was clamoring for more diabot minutes their props to just overall, what he's done is he's shown these not afraid. He can go out there and just play his game,

and that's really all you asked for out of a rookie. It's similar to what we've seen like Terrence Man when he first got here. Was a second round pick, right, But whenever he got his opportunity, he never played scared. He just went in there and he hooped and he didn't think about it, he didn't overthink. He just played off instinct and went from there, and good things generally happened when you do that. So the best thing that could possibly happen is Formosa to do the same thing, for Jason

Preston to do the same thing. And I know Brandon Boston's not a rookie, but he's still very inexperienced as a player, and we know that he's going to do stuff like that, So that's always good to see. And for Diabatte to have these back to back performances that he has, I think that only builds his confidence moving forward as well. Yeah, I thought Brandon Boston looked pretty good considering the amount of time he's been out. Was it

a thigh injury that he's been out with for so long? He's only played a couple of G League games. But I thought his defense at times actually looked really good tonight. It really did. He had a couple of moments defensively that I think he should be pretty proud of, and for him to be healthy is obviously a help for this team because we know what he did last year in relief type of opportunities. He was always there when the team

needed him. Look, the development of having Diabat is another big man is probably slightly more important to the team. But if Brandon Boston can be what he looked like at times last year with a step forward, He's already put on some more muscle, which has helped that defense. You know, when I saw him in the summer with a couple weeks left before the training camp began, before the preseason begin he told me he put on fifteen pounds a

muscle. My assumption is he put on even a couple more pounds during this extra time that he's had since then. So let's say he's put anywhere from fifteen to twenty pounds on well. Defensively, that was his biggest issue. He was fouling all the time because he couldn't hold his ground. Now he can. So you've already taken one hurdle and cleared it. Now can you

take the next hurdle and clear it? Which is to become an even better defender, which is to become a more consistent score more efficient score, which is to become a better decision maker, not turning the ball over and in opportune moments. There are still little things he can work on, but that's what the G League is for. And certainly when he has his opportunity with the big club, we know he takes full advantage. I bet he'd appreciate

my frozen protein drinks. Clippers lose one twenty five to one twelve in Utah to the Jazz. Their next game is coming up on Saturday, back home in downtown Los Angeles against these Sacramento Kings. No eagle, great call. As always, we will talk to you on Saturday, my friend. I know Lawler's law Yo will certainly appreciate your frozen protein drinks. I still do not. I think they you should go back to the PP and Jays. But that's just me myself, an I can't wait at him. Well,

I wish I could sometimes. All Right, Clippers more post game coming up the next second half highlights, post game box score. You'll hear from Coach Lewin, the players right here on the Los Angeles Clippers Radio Network. Players the whole George and Leonard running. You're listening to La Clippers basketball out, but I'm tough Clipper to down plus the foul every game all season long on their official hole basement. I missed the days. Wait, I missed the

days. I miss the smiles we had when we were young Clippers losing one twenty five to one twelve in Utah on the second night of a back to back. Welcome back into your post game show. I'm Adam Moslin. Still

to come on m five seventy LA Sports. We'll have Clippers socccore yet eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six sixty nine eight seven two five seventy or get to me at follow Adam A. Clippers end up shooting under forty percent from the field, just thirty nine point eight percent ten of thirty from downtown. That's thirty three percent. They were outrebound at forty six to thirty nine. They did have seventeen offensive rebounds. Some of that is

because when you're missing a lot of shot, that's gonna happen. But now they had some effort plays out there. Look, they weren't out worked in this game. But without Norman Powell as well as Kauai, Paul George and

Luke Kennard. We knew it was going to be tough for them on the second night of a back to back, coming off of the performance from Norman Powell last night with the twenty two point fourth quarter, and the Clippers did battle down twelve in the first quarter to take a halftime lead of two. They battled back down fourteen to bring it within three in the fourth, but a thirteen to two Utah run would do them in and for the first time

in twelve games, team is shot over fifty percent against the Clippers. Utah at fifty five percent from the field, fourteen to thirty two from distance. They were led by Jordan Clarkson, who had thirty three points and hit five of his nine attempts from distance, marking him with twenty three and nine himself. As for the Clippers, you're leading score. John Wall, with his new Clippers high of twenty six on seven of nineteen shooting, did most of

his damage at the free throw line, went twelve of thirteen. That's great for him considering he was shooting about sixty percent from the charity stripe this season. Exercising some demons there five assists to two turnovers, but the Clippers lose one twenty five to one twelve in Utah. They're coming back home to take on the Sacramento Kings in downtown Los Angeles Saturday afternoon. Tip time for that one is at one pm. We'll have Clippers count Down your pregame show starting

at noon. Coming up next, we're looking for Coachlup post game audio. Clippers lose by thirteen in Utah to the Jazz here on Los Angeles Clippers Radio. In that way to this, I've been on nice one in yacke See and can hear by all the six disappeared. Welcome into Clipper Stock. Here's a new sheriff from town. You won't be able to denay it. You're going to go to the NBA Finals. I believe in my heart this is the best team in the history of the franchise. I am all about the

Clipper nationler. This is Clippers Talk. They're trying to win the whole thing. A postgame look. It's your La Clippers recapping the game, the stars and looking ahead to what's next. To hear episodes you've missed, Subscribe to Clippers Talk on iHeart Radio or wherever you podcast. Now your host of Clippers Talk. Here's Adam Oslin. Well without Norman Powell this time, the Clippers couldn't complete the comeback. They lose in Utah one twenty five to one twelve

to the Jazz. Welcome in to Clippers Talk. I'm Adam Oslin eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight seven two seventy as the phone number coming up here on the show, we'll have Charles Mockler on for a little clips and double dip. You'll hear from Coach Slew as well. For the first time in their last twelve games, the Clippers defensively

gave up over fifty percent shooting to the opposition. Tells you how good they had been as long as streak I believe in the NBA is the Jazz shoot fifty five percent and go fourteen to thirty two from distance to get to their one hundred and twenty five points in this one. And the Clippers, after being down twelve in the first quarter, actually had a great second quarter. For once. They got the worst net rating in the league in second quarters

they're minus seventeen there. That's typically where games have gotten away from them, and they've had to battle back like yesterday down eighteen in Portland, and they won the second quarter by eleven. They led by two at the half after being down twelve in the first half. But the best number I saw but

they only had three turnovers in the first half. They ended up getting up six more shots than the Utah Jazz, so even though they were shooting a better percentage than the Clippers, Clippers made up for it by a few more possessions out there. And they did have seventeen offensive rebounds and they only ended with ten turnovers. That's a great number. The Jazz had seventeen. Clippers been averaging about sixteen per game this season. Ten. You love that you

did that every night. You lead the league with the lowest amount of turnovers. Around twelve to thirteen is where you want to be. Realistically. The problem is sometimes when they happen, things can unravel quickly. Turnovers at the wrong time can just throw you at a rhythm. And while they only had three in the first half, they came out in the first three minutes of that third quarter to start the second half and had four turnovers in the first

three minutes. And it started with Reggie Jackson on an inbounds pass to Marcus Morris just rolling the ball to him slowly. Calling Sexton runs up and Reggie has to foul him to stop him from getting the basketball. He did anyways. Then there was an offensive foul, Zoobots had a turnover, man had a foul, there was a shot clock violation on the Clippers, and a mere Coffee turned it over to It was just a comedy of errors to start

that third quarter. Coach Lou called a quick time out, but the damage was done and the Clippers got back down fourteen and the third after they led by two heading into the half, they didn't give up. They made their run and they made it with Moosa Diabatte on the floor, who ended up a plus seven in his sixteen minutes, finished with eleven and eight with just a ton of hustle plays. If you watch this guy, just lock in on him offensively and the amount of ground he covers on that end of the

floor. He is everywhere trying to affect plays, redirect shots, block shots, get boards, make steals. His energy I think is really infectious and it's what the Clippers need. I hope he's awarded the backup center position because he's been that good in just two games. But you watch him in the G League where he's just dominated teams, getting twenty and ten, and then he comes out in his first two games as a Clipper and it doesn't phase

him being on the big stage. Had a nice turnaround. Fade away late was inconsequential, but he just has so much the offers to his game. His motor is like Montrez Harrelds, but he plays great d and the Clippers have been looking for somebody to back up and eats the zoobots and be that guy. Don't get me wrong, Moses Brown is certainly I think overachieved and has had his moments and has start at times in flashes where he's had great

stretches. But Musadiabatti I think is the long term solution here. Now we don't know when they hopefully start to get healthy, as they were missing Kawai Paul, George Luke Konard and then didn't have Norman Powell coming off the twenty two points he had in the fourth quarter to wield the Clippers back down eighteen yesterday. How they're gonna look rotation wise and how many minutes would be available for Musa Dabat, And when you have young guys, you don't want them

to just sit on the bench. You want them to get reps in. So he'll likely be down at the G League at some point again, but for right now, I love seeing the way he plays out there. He had a great and one, he had a layup and then a jam. He looks like a difference maker for this team. And the way he gets to boards it's special. In eight it's something I think it's just within him. He had six offensive rebounds. Six of his eight boards were offensive rebounds.

You want to get more possessions. It's a great way to win ballgames. The Clippers had eleven more shot attempts in this one than Utah. The problem was they didn't take advantage of him enough, and they shot under forty percent compared to the Utah Jazz shooting fifty five percent. In fact, all five starters for them shot fifty five percent or better. Jordan Clarks than Clippers Killer, I know he's good. Six Minute of the Year winner thirty three

points though on eighteen shots, goes five of nine from distance. Laurie Markenen had twelve points in the first quarter, knocked down a couple of threes early leave. He knocked down a big one in the fourth quarter. But when the Clippers had it to wind three and the fourth and things were starting to turn back in their favor, and it was after an a mere coffee three pointer. I want to say, I'm trying to look this up on the game log to confirm how they cut it to three, because they started the

fourth quarter just shot out of a cannon. Speaking of John Wall went for his Clippers high of twenty six and went twelve or thirteen from the free throw line. That is big. He's been in a funk there, called himself out saying, I've been quote shooting damn free throws like shack sixty percent from the free throw line. He's way below where he's been throughout his career. It's just it looks like it was in his head a little bit. But

he was awesome, I thought. And the Clippers had it to within three, wouldn't you know after the end one play by Musa Dabatte where he would knock down the free throw, it's ninety eight to ninety five. But unfortunately John Wall, who only had two turnovers, had a bad one. The Clippers next possession after calling, Sexton traveled and from there the wheels kind of fell off. Utah got into transition, Colin Sexton had a put back dunk and they went on a thirteen to two run, and the game just got

away from the Clippers quickly. Your margin for air is just so slim with the amount of guys missing right now. I thought they played hard. I thought they battled. I thought they showed who they were. They just didn't have enough guys out there tonight without Norm two. I thought Brandon Boston gave him really good minutes. He was a plus ten in a game they lost one twenty five to one twelve they lose by thirteen. He was a plus

ten out there, and I thought his defense was really good. On Colin Sexton, it looked like he was intent on being better on that end. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventies the phone number before we take our first call, Let's pause ten seconds for station identification here on the Los Angeles Clippers Radio Networking AMPI seventy other sports LA Clippers Basketball A five seventy, KLAC Los Angeles seven KYSR HD TOO Los Angeles and iHeart Radio station. I

see two morrises on the screen, so I'm going to neither. Tagus in Walnut, Tagus, what's up your Clippers stock? Without am Oslin? Hey, Adam, I mean I ain't mad at the loss. Uh, they played well, they undermanned h two points one. I was just actually, one's a question. Where did the Clippers ring and three point percent defensive percentage against our opponent. It seems like everyone's just going off on them from the

three point length. I know they were really good in that area early in the season, and considering they are second defensively, I'm pretty sure they're still strong in that area. I'll find the number four. You though during the break, Tagus? Okay, yeah, I didn't know if that was a defensive game where they kind of let let them have their three and see what happens. You know what I it for you? Right now, teams are

only shooting thirty four percent against the Clippers. That's the sixth best mark in the league from three. Okay, I guess after Yeah, that's after today because I know, like yesterday, well, this will recalibrate. I'm guessing this isn't up to the second. After the Utah Jazz just dropped fourteen to thirty two from distance, but they'll still be in the top ten. Okay, I just got my critical Clipper goggles. I agree everything about which you

said about Luca. Yeah, I love doing watching him preseason. I still think he had the dunk of the year so far Jown preseason. I don't know John Moran ton I caught a law from half court and that he may have had multiple dunks of the year tonight actually before he got kicked out.

Okay, I remember a few years ago we were and I was kind of bummed that we didn't draft Robert Williams, you and me both, Yeah, and seeing you know, how he played with Boston, it made me think during the preseason, the way that Moosa played, he can probably he can kind of fill that role that Robert Williams is doing what the Celtics what and

Moosa could do that with the Clippers. And I just feel like with some development, well we're not gonna be like what if, because Mousa's just gonna you know, take care of that missing five back, the five big that we need. Yeah, it's like the backup big was hiding and playing site the entire time. That's what it feels like right now, yeah, because he could switch from one to five, and I know he can shoot from

the outside a little bit. But I love all the offensive rebounds and and that's what really kind of wins games, especially when you're coming off the bench and you just get like those few offensive boards that really changes the tides of the game. But I really I'm happy that we don't have to say, oh, I wish Robert william because I think we got him. We got another one right here. Thanks, all right, Tay, just appreciate the

phone call. Uh. I hope you're right. I hope he turns into somebody as effective as Robert Williams has been now with the Boston Celtics last year and there runs to the finals where he was playing hurt, really impressive, and he was somebody I was hoping the Clippers. We're gonna take a flyer on. It's obviously worked out in Boston for time. Lord. Clippers lose tonight one twenty five to one twelve to the Utah Jazz. We'll talk more

Moosa coming up. Charles Mockler will be here from Clips and Dip. We'll get back to your phone calls. I see two morrises. We'll screen him during the break and you're gonna hear from coach lu next right here on a five seventy l A sports dirty hang, Paul George LA Clippers basketball continue, fisen Is fains as Hers three on the Home of your LA Clippers. Clippers

split the quick two game. Roady come back down eighteen last night in Portland, but down twelve, they battled back to have the two point lead at the half. Down fourteen, they had it to within three and the fourth quarter in Utah, but they couldn't come through this time. They lose one twenty five, one twelve to the Jazz. Welcome back into Clippers talk. I'm out of Moslin. John Wall had twenty six points his Clippers high and I thought was keeping them in it. And he's a minus nine tonight,

and it's one of those funky reasons. I'm like, it just doesn't line up with the eyeball test. Reggie Jackson did most of his damage in the first half. In fact, he started five for five finished five for ten. So what does that tell you? Still finished with fifteen points and a

valiant effort considering I didn't even think he'd be playing. Yeah, he came back in the second half after that big fall and played the entire second half and was awesome yesterday against Portland. But you would think after the adrenaline dies down and the soreness comes in a day later, he wouldn't be able to get up for this one, but he did anyways, he played twenty five

minutes. Clippers loses Jordan Clarkson with thirty three for the Utah Jazz. Let's go to Marty in La Marty, what's up here on Clippers stop without Amslin? How you doing? Boss? I think John Walt who played really, really, really well ense season. Marty, Marty, you could do better if you take me off speakerphone Martyr. Yeah, come on, Marty. You know the rules here, Marty. You want to give it a try

here? Oh fly, that's rough. You know, if you're gonna call into a radio show, maybe let's just think about being on a clear phone line. I know it's hard to find a landline nowadays or a phone booth, but come on, help me out a little bit. I know. We got better audio from Coach Loup post game. Though Clippers lose by thirteen to the Utah Jazz, they dropped a thirteen and ten on the season.

Why Marty, here's coach lou just careless, you know, having eighteen of them in a second half after I've only having three in the first half. And you know, I thought our bench came in and gave us a good boost, you know, playing hard and competing like you know. Off a game last night, you know, I thought our started didn't have a lot in the tank, and our bench came in and gave was, you know,

a great boost. You know, So just one of those games we could have you know, we couldn't played a little better, we could have stolen, but they played well, you know, get him credited, and so now we got to go back and get ready for Saturday. Who are your thoughts about John Wall's performance off the bench? He was good, I

thought, you know, just pushing the pace. I thought, attacking, getting to the basket, getting to the free throw line thirteen times, that's what he does, and so he changed the change the whole pace for us when he comes into the game and guys get easy looks and you know, he gets it, he gets down hill, gets it a free throw line a lot, and so it was good for us tonight. What do you think we did those three turnovers in the first half, and I think none

of the second quarter. I say it again, what would team allowed you guys to only have three turnovers in the first half and I think none of the second quarter. No, I mean, the term was a part of the game, but we just can't have a care of that, like rolling the ball and you know, two people collide and try to try to get the ball to in bounds and stuff like that. So the casual turners I've been talking about, we just can't have those. And then you know,

the first half, we just did a good job of just executing. You know, they ran a lot of zone and with our young guys, they we don't know what the zone stuff he put in with Brandon and Musa, but we just had a you know, do what they did know. And uh, we did a good job of executing, you know, I thought, in that first half, and also taking care of the basketball because it is obviously the most time the young guys and the youngest guys have got the

season. Just what do you mean the last two nights of right, pas Mousa played both games obviously good Brandon tonight. Just their energy, you know, I think their energy was really good, especially coming off a back to back, you know, getting in late. I thought I did a good job, you know, and so all they can grow from these manster getting you know, they got the last couple of days with Mosa and Brandon who's played for us, you know already, but just getting those minutes and you

know, seeing how you can build off of that and get better. But Moosa build off those minutes. Please, Harold in North Hollywood, please don't be on a wax cylinder or something. Harold, how are you? Uh? Are you there at him? I'm here for you, Harold. Sorry, look, I'm sorry. I think the fans and anita explanation why these guys, so many players in the league don't play anymore, especially the star players. These the fans played good money. Nobody ever talks about why these

guys don't get their butts on the court. And I quite and I can't figure it out. I can see why Pop couldn't handle that guy inside it to cut ties because he doesn't play all of a sudden, he's got an ankle problem. Now, Paul George Gotta, it's not like you woke up with Harold. It's not like he woke up with the ankle problem. We saw him turn it on the court. It happened in front of our eyes. He turned his ankle, he got hurt. He's coming off a torn

at ACL, a pretty significant injury. He's had significant injuries in this league. You don't think Greg Popovich still has love for Kawhi Leonard. Did you see them too hugging recently after the game in San Antonio? They were having a blast together. Adam, you're sugar coating is stuff. So he didn't he didn't tear he didn't tear his acel. People, I'm lying about that. People, you know, I want to know what I mean. This has been on my mind a long time. I can tell Harold, well,

that's okay. We I have passion for the game, okay. And I'm trying to tell you that too many players are sitting out. If I went to my job and I took time off like that, they'd fire me. What I am saying is people fans expect to see the stars, and I can't believe. I'm sorry, I'm yelling. I'm just Harold, Harold. Can I can I make a comment A big ACL problem, But he's a head case he's not a headcase, Harold. He's a good leader.

But let me ask you this, Harold, Harold, great dude, if you were part of the point O O O one select few that plays in the NBA, there's only four hundred and fifty guys in the world. If you were a part of that small fraction of a percent that could make it to this level and your profession would would you still get fired? Let me ask you a question now, Harold, I just ask you one. You'd get fired now? You wouldn't because you're too important, because you're one of

four hundred and fifty players in the world. Harold. I'm a little older than you ever saw players sitting out not playing because they didn't have guaranteed contracts. So you don't want players to have guaranteed contracts. So when guys give their body to the game and get hurt, you think Steve Bohmer's getting his money groth out of Kawhi Leonard. If they win the championship this season, are they going to care about the thirty games he misses during the regular season,

Harold? Are they going to care about that? That's hypothetical, It's all it's hypothetical. From your end too, So you don't believe I haven't none of my facts are really correct. You're you're saying, no, it's

okay to sit out and not play. I'm saying, if guys are hurt and coming off of serious injuries, and those guys are pivotal to you actually having a chance to win a championship, you're probably gonna baby those guys because Harold, last time I checked, the Clippers are going to be judged upon whether they win it all or not. Right, correct, So they need the best guys in the biggest games, not in November and December. All I ever hear Harold is how long the NBA season is and how insignificant it

is because they play too many games. But because the money, Harold, you know that it's not gonna happen, Harold. The money, yes, and it's the fan money and all and everything. You know what, This was a great conversation. I appreciate the time, Adam, Harold I got you. I appreciate the back and forth. Would like to bring a little controversy to the program. Oh, I know you do rating Spike from Harold

and North Hollywood. You can't have it both ways. On one hand, everybody says the season so long, so why are you getting mad at players that aren't playing in games that aren't as magnified early in the season when it is such a long season. I just look Kawhi Leonard's coming off at townycl and then he turns his ankle. You want to risk him getting hurt right now in November or December? Or do you want Kawhi Leonard in the playoffs

in a situation where the Clippers can win the whole damn thing? Because I believe most people would agree with this. If he doesn't get hurt in that second round series against the Utah Jazz, most say, well, the Clippers would have won it all. So obviously a lot is dependent on the health

of your stars, So why push them this early? Be overly cautious, do what you have to do. And we've talked about how deep this Clippers team is, and they've been getting by Anyways, They're thirteen and ten without Kauai, without Paul George through most throughout most of the season, without Luke Kennard recently, oh without Nora Paltts. To night they couldn't get the victory, But maybe that was just one too many. Yeah, I understand from

the fans perspective, you want to see those guys out there. We all do, of course, but you also want to see him in the most pivotal moments because the Clippers are chasing their first ever championship. That's what they want. You have to play the long game here, all right, quick time out, we'll come back. Charles Mockler will join from Clips and double dip. We'll get back to your phone. Calls eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy is the

phone number. Kay, listen to the Clippers stock you're an am five seventy LA Sports. Oh, Paul George LA Clippers basketball continue ice in his pains as he carries the three on the home of your LA Clippers, last times, five chains on my neck. It was no smart on my bread, Last Clippers and it was one twenty five to one twelve and Utah on the second night of a back to back without Homer Pile. This time, let's know Kauai Paul George Lucanardo back in the Clippers talk. I'm outam Oslin.

We will get back to your phone calls angry or not at eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety seven two seventy is the phone number. But you hear the music that means we got some clips in Double Dip last night. It was William Updyke tonight, my other podcast partner, and Charles Mockler is with us. Charles, let's get right into it. I thought things fell apart and unravel for the Clippers early in that third

quarter with those turnovers. How did you see it? I mean it was it felt like it was bound to unravel at some point, right, and fatigue usually leads to turnovers, and that just kind of came in a bunch right after around like two and you're right, like a quarter quarters of this basketball game. You saw the legs were heavy in the beginning. You know, John Wall really kept us alive with his free throws in this one, which was great but also I think indicative of the kind of points we needed

to get to be able to overcome the fatigue. And yeah, it just I mean you said it perfectly. It just unraveled from there, and I think everyone watching the game kind of realized that the fatigue was setting in a little bit all at once. The Clippers had some more cavalies tonight joining them. Brandon Boston was out there. I thought his defense was actually really good at times. On Colin Sexton. He was a plus ten in a game they lost by thirteen. We haven't seen much of Brandon Boston at all.

I believe he's been dealing with a thigh injuries. Only played a couple of games in the G League. He looked pretty good. Yeah, to come out after not playing since I think the beginning of this month. This was there was one of his better games as a Clipper, right, Like, I know, he only shot thirty three percent, but he made some good, you know reads on offense. He was a little more un selves with

the ball than I think. Maybe you remember the last time we saw him play, And you're right, his defense was active, he was president everything that was going on. Just just great to see from him to be able to come back. And I think it's great that Tylu you know, is willing to use these young guys when we want to use him. People been clamoring for them to play. When we have a bunch of guys out, they will play. It's good to see that they can just kind of,

you know, pulld up there into the bargain. Musa Diabatee has more so or more than held up his end of the bargain eleven and eight, coming off of playing the entire fourth quarter last night and the Clippers eighteen point comeback. And I said it earlier, but perhaps the backup big has been hiding in plain sight. The perfect backup for a Vizza Zubots was already on the team. He has to be the backup big going going forward. I don't

see. I don't think anyone also disagrees with this take. I don't think there's anyone out there in Clipperland who thinks no, Moses Brown should have gotten those sixteen minutes tonight. Right Like we're gonna keep Mousa longer, they're gonna keep Moses Brown, we might as well develop them. And it's just a cherry on top that. He also looks pretty solid for where he is in his NBA career. I'm not saying that compared to all NBA players or anything

like that, but he pops every time he's out there. There were some rookie mistakes with some of the fouls, and that's just kind of growing pains you're gonna have to deal with. But the kid is electric. Yeah, he just needs to be the backup center. There's no reason for Moses Brown to play more basketball for the Clippers this season to me, the way he moves, and he's got more bounce obviously, but shades of young Jokim Noah

on his activity level. He's moving around the floor everywhere. Defensively, he's trying to make up for anyone else's mistakes or and he cracks in the defense. And then offensively with six offensive fouls or offensive rebounds, I should say he only had two personal fouls. I mean, yeah, fouls are gonna happen to young guys. They're gonna happen to Isaiah Hartenstein too. I mean, he fouled a lot last season, but he brought energy and that's what

makes the biggest difference. And Musadiabatte has that in spades. And he's switchable, right Like in that game against Scotland, there was a possession where he got you know, he kind of forced to steal. He switched from guarding you know, a four or five to guarding a one or two. And yeah, there's gonna be some growing pains, but the fact that he's able to do that at a level that impresses Tayloud to the point of wanting to play him more. I know we were shorthanded, but I still don't think

he gets sixteen minutes. If the coaches didn't see something in him, it's such a good sign for the Quippers. Yeah. I thought the way he played in the comeback, the entire fourth quarter where they win the fourth by nineteen and what do you know, he's a plus nineteen out there. It lined up perfectly. He was that meaningful yesterday, and I thought showed that same spirit and drive and will to get to the basketball and get to loose

balls in this one. Someone who's struggling a little bit, Marcus Morris last couple of games. I want to say he's six for his last twenty four or something like that right now and just hasn't looked right. Somebody brought up the stat, but since Kawhi Leonard came back, he's been shooting about forty percent from the field when he was very efficient early on. Not sure what's going on with Muke. Yeah, you're right, he was six or twenty

four. He's one of his last seven three pointers in this back to back. I think rough yes, the Mook roller the Mook roller coasters down right now. I think part of it can obviously we can chalk it up to fatigue for this game, but he was he took a knock a little early in this game and just wasn't moving even at his level of movement. So

it's really good we got two days off. But he's I think he's just tired man, like we It's it's hard to kind of pick up the slack for one and a half seasons almost up to this point, and he's someone who picks up a lot of snack, especially offensively. But I mean, you're you're right though in this game specifically, if if he shoots a little bit better than twenty seven percent, maybe things go the other way. But

I think he took a knock. I hope you know he's not on the injury point or anything like that, because we really need him even in a limited capacity. Rocco wasn't as efficient as he was against his former team with the fifteen points yesterday, but still had eight points. And I just like the fact that he's never complained about the DNPS. He's never said anything.

He's been on board with the stay ready mentality and I thought for the most part the last two games when he was called upon, he delivered immediately. He's been a concert professional. The Clippers keep getting these kinds of things right, which is fantastic. He also had two deflections in this game, I believe in the same possession, which was awesome to see from him. But

no, this is just another guy who needs more playing time. And I think Robert flam tweeted about this, But I know a mere Coffee is a great player, but I think some of these minutes could be going to Robert Covington because I don't think a Mere Coffee is going to be kind of there and crunch time when it comes to playoff series and things like that. So I hope when everyone comes back, we can still, you know, see Roco get some run because even though he is kind of a stay ready guy,

it's still good to get some run in there. And tonight he was part of a bench unit who everyone other than John Wall on the bench was a plus and plus minus tonight. So he's helping out the bench lineups and we've seen some fantastic you know him, but human Zoo together. The defense is just really really locked down, so I hope we get to see more of that moving forward. We'll probably see at the end of the season to get preps to the playoffs, but it would be nice to see I guess

in the immediate as well too. He's at Charles Mockler on Twitter covers the Clippers with the Clips and Dip podcast with myself and William Updike, who joined us last night on Clippers Talk, Clips and Double Dip tonight, Charles, good to hear from you, my friend, Thanks for doing this. Always good to be on. Good luck with the college the rest of the night. My friend who is Harold back online eight six six nine eight seven two

five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy. Some get off by lawn or court tonight a little bit, but I respected the conversation. I like Carold, I like Morse. He's coming up. My guy from Philly dropped. It's Philly man, all right, we'll see if he calls back more Clipper's styp We'll get your phone calls next eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy. After they lose in Utah one twenty five to one twelve. They're coming back to take on the Kings and downtown Los Angeles on

Saturday. We'll talk about that too, right here on Clipper Stock on AM five seventy LA Sports La Ronne. You're listening to La Clippers Basketball up top. Clip puts it down plus the foul every game all season long on their official home Tennessee Tennessee. Lord, I've really been set down in it losing, although I in black and Brass and rob us not be penal business and brothers. Clippers lose by thirteenth to the Jazz couldn't overcome a fourteen point deficit

in the second half. I had it to with in three with about nine minutes left and the fourth, but Utah and Jordan Clarkson just too good, catching the Clippers on the second night of a back to back, and without nor of Powell this time too. The Clippers coming back home to take on Sacktown. I'm playing like one of the best teams in the league right now. Morris in Long Beach, last up tonight here on Clippers Talk, What's Up? I gotta tell you something. The Clippers are a dynamic team.

Folk don't bet against these guys, they're awesome. Don't look at what was out there. Look at what was not out there. You're talking about Kawhi wasn't out there. Uh, your boy PG. Thirteen wasn't out there. Kanar wasn't out there. Norman Powell wasn't out there. And I'm listening to the game, and I'm thinking, these guys stilled might win man and they ain't got nobody out there, don't have enough firepower. And even though that

Utah they lost five stag games. You know they're better than they but they lost flight since they were about to do perfect storm. But I'm gonna tell you something. They got the risk, Leonard, and they got the risk PG. Thirteen. Let me tell you why. I was listening to the greatest basketball player of all time speak about one of his teammates when they got into the playoffs and the guy had a bad foot. But they're in the

playoffs, this is it the finals. But the guys got a bad foot, and he played anyway okay, and it took time off of his career because he pounded that foot. I'm talking about every Bird and Kevin McHale. So the Clippers, I've played what you call the long game, and they're smart to do it. Get those guys ready for June and May, because it don't make no difference in November, January, and December. Behave yourself out. I mean, I could ask people, cool, what was the

Clippers record last December? What was it? Nobody's gonna know. It remind me of those significant games early in the season that ended up defining their season. Usually doesn't happen that way. The biggest games, the more magnified games happened later in the year. Doesn't mean these games don't count the same, but in terms of building chemistry and building those reps together before the playoffs,

those games in February and March are huge. In early April, and the Clippers are hoping to be healthy and playing that long game when it matters most. And yeah, you invest this much in your superstars, you gotta make sure they're right before you put them out there on the court. Now, the Clippers are going to take on a Sacramento Kings team that after winning seven in a row, they had lost three in a row. But they're gonna

win tonight big over the Indiana Pacers. They're currently leading one thirty six to one oh eight in Sacramento, so short travel for them coming to Los Angeles on Saturday. In between there, I want to say, are they taken on the Lakers Friday night? Will the Clippers be catching them on the back to back? No, they won't. They got two days off just like the Clippers. But that is big. Clippers could use all the rest they can get right now. These two days critical for them. I'm sure they'll

get a practice into, but guys are on the men. Guys are trying to get healthy. Tip time for that game though against Sacramento on Saturday is at one. That means we'll have Clippers count down your pregame show starting at noon before we get out of here. I do want to thank the Clippers organization.
