Parents badness ure. Once again, he's Clippers Talk. I got calls on Clippers Talk, immediate reaction and analysis to today's game. That's what he's capable of, hosted by your pre and post game voice of the LA Clippers, Adam Osler. The joker said, how about a magic truck and magically, but Denver Nuggets went sixteen to thirty two from three and they beat the Clippers with the long ball once twenty seven to one fifteen in Denver. Welcome into
Clippers Stock. I'm at a moslin to eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy is the phone number coming up? Not only will you hear from Coachlu and Reggie Jackson post game and we'll get to your phone calls, but we have the update from Chris Haynes on, Norman Powell, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard. But I mentioned Nikola Yokich. Heah, he had thirty he had fourteen boards, he
had six assists. He's the reigning MVP, but some of those numbers are just slightly above his averages. What killed the Clippers in this game is just how unbelievably scorching hot. Denver was from distance. They shoot thirty five percent from three on the season, that's middle of the pack. Their fifteenth they're sixteenth in the league from three, and tonight they go fifty percent on thirty two attempts. And they went six of thirteen from three in the fourth quarter
alone. And it was the three balls. Will Barton late, Jeff Green late, and Monte Morris with a fortunate bounce, her fortunate block into his hands on a great defensive play by Roco Robert Covington who blocked Aaron Gordon, stood him up, met him at the apex. Looked to be a fantastic defensive play and once you know it, Nver Nuggets got the fortunate bounce.
It goes into the hands of Monte Morris and he drills a near side corner three when the Clippers were just down two, and that was the story of the night. They could not get over the hump. Each and every time they made a little run, they couldn't sustain it. They had it too within three in the second quarter, after they were down by as many as
thirteen in the first half. They had it to within five in the third quarter, but then they were down eleven, just like they were at the half heading into the fourth, but they had it to within two with four minutes left after Roco, I want to talk about three and D player. He just hit a three pointer before that block. He had an Aaron Gordon. The Clippers had their chances. I don't feel like they played a poor ball game, not like what happened in Utah. This was a completely different
way to lose. Denver was just too hot from the outside. You're not gonna beat a team that shoots fifty percent three on thirty two attempts, a team that is not good from distance average at best, at best. And it was Jamichael Green, we know he could hit him. It was Bones Highland, who had eight of his sixteen points on the first quarter, countering
Marcus Morris is eight points in the first period. He goes four of six, Austin Rivers goes three of five from distance, and Monte Morris went three of three and I think hit the biggest shot of the game to put them back up five, to keep a little bit of distance. As the Clippers, we're fighting, we're battling, and I really loved what I saw at a Terrence man I tweeted this out earlier at follow out of May, but he looked like playoff Terrence man or play in tournament Terrence man An. Looks
like it's going to be for the Clippers. He had twenty four points. That's one shy off of his regular season high of twenty five. He's had thirty nine in the playoffs, obviously closing out the Utah Jazz in that game six, But not so much the points the way he got them. He didn't hit a three ball. He went to the free throw line for twelve attempts, hit ten of those, but seven of ten from the field,
and he just continued to probe the defense. It's basketball terminology. He continued to go right after Nikola Yokich, and they got him into foul trouble and they played the right way and had the right strategy. Wouldn't you know with coach LEU that wonderful article earlier today by the Evil four letter and Ohm if you read it, you know. If you haven't, you need to. But he was putting the pressure on Yokich. That's how you slow him down.
And him only getting thirty You'll live with that. You can win with him getting thirty. You can't win with them hitting sixteen three pointers on thirty two attempts. But he had him on his heels. You get him in the pick and roll, you can pose problems to Yokich and the Nuggets. And the Clippers put up one hundred and fifteen points. I want to say there's something like fourteen and three this season when they score one hundred and fifteen
or more. Offensively, they were good enough. They shot forty eight percent. Now they weren't as good from three. They hit ten of them, but on thirty two attempts thirty one percent. But they got to the free throw line because they were the aggressors and they ended up taking twenty six free throw attempts at twenty three for Denver. And that's been an issue with the Clippers at times this year. Offensive rebounds, it's been the biggest issue.
Unfortunately, came back to bide them in the fourth. Also, the Denver Nuggets only had six offensive rebounds. You look at that great number, The problem is the timing of some of them. Four of the six came in the fourth and they led to second chance buckets, and the Clippers had a
couple of second chance opportunities with themselves they weren't able to capitalize on. But Isaiah Hartenstein played his heart out fourteen points going up against his former team, eight of them in the fourth quarter, played some really good defense at times five of seven from the field, but the assists a couple to Terrence man On no look passed to him in the first half that turned into a big reverse jam. He also found. I want to say it was Reggie Jackson
for an easy one. To see him do that Luke and Art for sure in the first half, but to see him do that against his former team, and he soaked up all that knowledge playing next to the best passing big man ever, Nikolokitch. I feel okay making that statement, but he learned plenty from him, and that's been a part of his game. He just soaked it up like a sponge in his time in Denver, and why not.
And now the Clippers have a guy like that who not only hustles as hard as we used to see from Montrese and Patrick Beverley, but he's a playmaker. And when you can get a big man like that that can pass the high post in today's day and age, that is I always say it's necessary. I don't want to say it's a luxury either. It's just great to have. It's huge. And on a night where of vizza zubots and he was my player to watch, didn't look great. Six five boards just
played seventeen minutes. Coach lu just rode Isaiah Hardenstein down the stretch. I think he played the entire fourth quarter. Clippers had their chances, they just couldnt get over the hump. Every time that run was answered by a three pointer from the Denver Nuggets. They lose by twelve in Denver final score once twenty seven to one fifteen. We'll take one call before we break eight six sixty nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight seven two five
seventy. Yeah, but first Xavier and la Habra heights. You're a Clippers. Stop without in Moss and how are you? And what's up at him? You know what a loss is a loss? But you know what's the Nuggets? First of all, I'll be here. I don't feel like that a win isn't a win. A losses in the loss. How you play actually matters. Building good habits matters. You know what build good habits and the results will come. Yeah, that's true. But you know, Dever
was you know there were hoppings from threes. I mean it just went to shoot with fifty something percent, so exactly there there you go. So I mean it just you know, they're winding down here during the season, so you know they gotta you know, like you said, you guys, what what eight games left? So they gotta you know, at least as long
as they finished five hundred, they should be fine. And at this point I was happy too to see uh ty Lou he went with Isaiah to Nard and and Man in the fourth quarter and Brandon Boston gave him some good minutes late exactly, so you know what I mean, let the young guys play. You know what I mean, Moors was not you know, I've seen his stats. What do you have three rebounds in twenty something minutes? But Tune had what two rebounds? I mean, I mean that's good, Tylan,
who's doing that? He just you know what, I'm gonna put the young guys. These guys are playing hard, and I'll just put him in the fourth quarter. That's the way it is. You know, you gotta you gotta put those guys in. But lasting Adam real quick. I know it's coming down to the end here. I'm just thinking that the Clippers should I'd rather face Minnesota, yes than Denver. Correct. So at this Slee, well, I could say I lost his loss, but I do not want to face the joker. I mean, I mean, I don't.
I don't think they're gonna want a tank. But honestly, you get you rather face Minnesota because I know they could beat Minnesota in Minnesota, so I mean it just see what they do. But I just rather face Minnesota. So we'll see what happens. So we'll see you at the game Friday. I'll be there since Philadelphia, So thank you good. We'll see you Friday night. Tip time for that one is at seven thirty in downtown Los Angeles.
Pregame show at six thirty. I think all of Clipper Nation can see that there is a silver lining to this one, and is that the Denver Nuggets get a win and remain in the sixth spot for now, and you hope they stay there. Now, be careful what you wish for. Minnesota one of the hottest teams in the league. They're dangerous. They got Pat Bev, culture changer, Karl Anthony Town's putting up sixty points. They're gonna be a problem, especially in Minnesota if the Clippers get them too. But
who in the right mind would want to take on Nikola Yogic. Clippers have already seen Luca Donchets the last couple of seasons in first rounds. These basketball savants that just have the most amazing feel for the game, and I've seen in a long time those two players. Clippers lose twenty seven to one fifteen in Denver. More postgame Clippers stock coming up next, We got that postgame audio from Chris Haynes. You'll hear from the head coach and Reggie Jackson next.
Here on a five seventy l A Sports don't stay tim a Hawks slam. You're listening to Los Angeles Clippers basketball. He goes all the way to the ram Us Sky scraping jams. This is the official home of your LA Clippers. Zach I fall shop up. Clippers losing Denver once twenty seven to one fifteen to Nikola Jokich and the three point shooting Denver Nuggets. For some reason, they're an average three point shooting team. Not tonight. It goes
sixteen of thirty two from three. Their last two makes were both threes. Three three kept the Clippers at Bay. Welcome back at the Clippers stock. I'm Adam Moslin eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy. I mean the Clippers had six turnovers total. It's less than half of their average on the season, around thirteen and a half. It's a great number. Nuggets had eleven. Doesn't matter.
That equalizer, that three points shot can be the difference and the Nuggets they were shooting sixty percent from the field in the first half. Clippers defense obviously wasn't great, but they battled, they competed. They had it to within two with four minutes left, and then you can guess what happened at three point. Wante Morris hit that one after Roco blocked spectacularly Aaron Gordon. You know, if you block Aaron Gordon, it's gotta be big time. Quickest
hands in the West in the Eastern Conference to Robert Covington. He did have fourteen points, he hit a big three, and the fourth quarter not enough though, Clippers fall by twelve. Tagus in Walnut Tagus youre on Clippers stock without am Aston, how are you, hey, Adam? It was it was an encouraging win. Ye, encouraging loss. I mean sorry, encouraging loss. Right. I think in the first first half we gave up a
lot of threes. And do you think part part of this because without our key guys and we're playing a little bit more his own defense, and they're able to kind of they were able to get will generate more open looks. Yeah, and kids just such a prolific passer and when you double him and when you shade towards his way, he's likely going to find the open guy.
But some of those were well defended and it didn't matter. Yeah, And obviously the momentum killers were there when Gordon got blocked and hit the three, and then Gordon got blocked again, but then he got the ball and dunked it. Those are like two back breaking plays. Yeah. Yeah, But you know what they can take away from this game and if they do me and the play and is how Reggie was able to drive in in the second quarter. Now, terrace Mann was doing it all game and I'm gonna
be hopeful that we'll get our three guys back. But optimistic, optimistically, we maybe we'll get too but see, let's say we even get Powell and PG. I think they got to just kind of replicate what they were doing and keep taking it, attacking it to the hole, and put the joker on his heels in the defense because I don't see the Denver Nuggets being able to guard a lot of the Clipper players one on one Powell PG and not
saying that we want to play the Nuggets. But I think this was a good little, you know, sample size of when we get our guys what to do. And lastly, I mean, we got to just make sure that we don't buy into we locked into that eight seed. We got a tough stretch of games. They never know. I mean, if the Lakers get eighty back, they might hit some hitters stride. So we got to win a few of these games just to lock it up. But it's not
locked in, and we can't kind of buying some mentality. We gotta tree every game like you know, it's a playoff game, because we got to get a couple more wins. And I'll be at the game Friday at them Let's call all right, Tay's just a great phone call. Ay're right, they had the right strategy. They didn't have enough bodies, they didn't have some of the most talented guys, but going at Yokich was effective. That's how you beat him. Make him work defensively, wear him out on that
end. And currently the Clippers are four games up on the Lakers, but they have the tie breaker, so it's truly five. You're right, you can't rely on it, can't rest on your laurels. Now. You still want to play good basketball and hopefully they can get a big victory over the Philadelphia seventy six ers, who are one of the teams they came back on down twenty plus this season. They're not going to forget that now. They
just added James Harden, but that game's coming up on Friday. You also brought up the guys who could be coming back, Norman Powell, Paul George, Kawhi, Leonard. We all hope for that. Here's the latest update, though this was on the NBA and TNT as Chris Haynes was doing some sideliner reporting in Denver tonight. He covers on the game for Yahoo Sports, and he did break the news before anyone that Kawhi Leonard was coming. So here was Chris Haynes coming out of the first time out on TNT earlier.
Both teams are looking for some reinforcements for the stretch. But let's start with the Clippers. Paul George has gradually progressed to the point where he's doing four or four work with the coaching staff in a control contact Norm Powe, sources tell me intering to get back out there and then expected returned at some point before the end of the Reckless Sea. Lastly, Kawhi Leonard's progressing nicely, but sources say, but the siason has not been made on what are he
will return this season or not. Okay, so some of that was so vague, and some of that we already knew about. But the Norman Powell part of it, where he's expected to return before the regular season is over, that's news. That's newsworthy. And he's been out of his boot for I want to say a week now, had a fractured left foot and his third game with the Clippers. Obviously, getting any one of those guys is
huge if you can get multiple. We saw the footage of Paul George on Twitter at the Clippers training facility playing that four and four, But I believe they called it mild contact so far. But they're also not given up hope, and they haven't shut any of those guys down for the remainder of the season yet, so we're hoping there is something to that. All right, Well, we have a moment. Let's pause ten seconds for station and entivocation.
Here on AM five seventy l A Sports. This is LA Clippers basketball. AM five seventy KLAC Los Angeles ninety eight seven KYSR HD to Los Angeles and iHeart radio station. Coming up next, we'll hear from the head coach. We'll see if he spoke about any of these Clippers who are on the mend. Clippers lose by twelve in Denver to the Nuggets. What are the Golden State Warriors? I don't know what was I watching there? Sixteen or
thirty two from Bury? Thank goodness. More Clippers stock next here on AM five seventy l A Sports tim A Hawks, I am, you're listening to Los Angeles Clippers basketball. He goes all the way to the ram Us sky scraping Jams. This is the official home of your LA Clippers. What's upshot? A smash shot, A smash shot spending welcome back into post game Clippers talk. I'm out of Moslin eight six seventy eight six six nine eight seven
seventy is the phone number still looking for player audio. I did see this quote from Robert Covington though, talking about that play. The block on Aaron Gordon leading to a three pointer was Denver Nuggets. Another one said quote that was definitely a huge play for us. That was kind of a knife in the coffin. Now, this was transcribed by Justin Rousseau a fly by Night on Twitter. He could have said nail maybe knife though that's more serious.
That's like the meme of I just went to one of my biggest hater's funerals to make sure he's dead or something. It's that type of thing, knife in the coffin. I just haven't heard an expression like that before, but it was. That was the biggest shot of the game. The Clippers were down by two with four minutes left and the Denver Nuggets end up going sixteen of thirty two from three. Uh, not much else you have to look at outside of that. Tough to beat a team when they shoot fifty percent
on thirty two shots from the outside. Let's hear from coach Lou. Though I love more enlightening analysis them when I just give you there here is the great coach Lou. Read that ESPN article by Ohm Here he was postgame speaking with the media. Fifty and ninety one, the shot fifty four percent from the field, fifty from three, ninety one from a free throw line. But I thought we did some good things, and you know, I said
I had a chance. We cut it to two. You know, we had a block and then they, you know, get a three from Jeff Green in the corner, which was timely. They made the timely shots down the stretch, and we just didn't make, you know, make the shots that we needed to go down to stretch. But I thought we'd played well.
You've had so many combacks this season. But the double led sword of that is diffen so many games that's all been down, but especially at the beginning, like the first quarter of the eight job thirty seven more, And like what does that kind of do to like how you prepare for these games, Like you obviously prepare and then you have to kind of readjust because that's is what it is. I don't know, I can't recall the games you're talking about, but the Utah game was one of those games. But tonight
they got thirty seven, we got twenty seven. We just had to get our defense intact, and like I said, a second half we came out. We was better giving up twenty seven and twenty eight and a second half. So they got off to a good start at home, which they played well, and I thought we did a good job weathering the store. Uh, Nicola, Yoki was coming off a bad game that he had. Was was there a concerning way? Uh, you know, have the bounce back
this type of bounce back game. Oh, I mean for sure. I mean you know, he's MVP last year and has a great chance of winning again this year. So we knew he's gonna play well. You know, usually usually don't play bad two games in a row. And so he came out he played with well, you know, got this team going. Like I said, you know, that's to be expected, especially when he didn't play well last game. Try what's your read on the shots they made?
Those part of the role players the Morris is the world than Austin's thinking for those shots that you were more or less like we'll let those guys take those for those I mean not let I mean it's the right guys taking them, but we're not gonna let them take it. You know, if we don't, Morris can shoot it. Jeff made a big shot, like I said,
and you know Austin made a big shot as well. But you know, overall, I thought we did a good job competing, Like I said, stay in the course, had a chance to you know when we cut it to two, had a big block, and then Jeff Green makes it three in the corner to go up five. So they made some timely shots like I said, you know, all their guys did. There was coach Lou post game, yeah, referencing that Jeff Green shot. Also, Clippers were down five, he took it to eight with three thirty left. Clippers
didn't give up, didn't give in. They just lost to a hot shooting team tonight in the Denver Nuggets. This was a start in start. Contra asked what we saw on Friday night against or in Utah against the Jazz where the Clippers they look da I mean a Visa Zubos came out afterwards and talked about effort being a problem in that game. I didn't see that tonight. I just saw a team that had their best player versus a team that is
missing their three best players. And the Denver Nuggets got insanely hot from the outside. All right, coming back, we'll preview the final eight games. We'll take a look a bird's eye, no eagle like look at the final eight regular season games here for the Clippers, starting with what's going on Friday night back in downtown Los Angeles. They're taking on likely Joel Embiid James Harden
in the Philadelphia seventy six ers. If those guys are healthy. More Clippers stuck coming up right here on AM five seventy l A sports you inspetations. I don't even want your congagelations. I recognize your first comma disaccount and premises. This is LA Clippers basketball quarter three for the time he got it. This is the official home of your LA Clippers, day and night. I toss a turn, and I keep stressing my mind mind. I live for peace, but see I thrown the tain. What I need for keys to
sip? She's the happiness. Clippers losing four straight, but whatever, I look at this Clippers losing Denver one twenty seven to one fifteen to the Nuggets. Welcome back in. I think Clippers next eight games final eight games of the regular season at night, Philadelphia at home on Friday night, Utah get on Tuesday at home. Then they go out on the road for a couple of stiff challenges at Chicago at Milwaukee. Milwaukee actually just beat Chicago tonight by
thirty. Then back home for their final four against New Orleans, Phoenix, Sacramento, and Okay See. Those last two obviously much more favorable. And if the Clippers are in danger of falling to the ninth seed, well careful what you wished for. Like I said earlier, but you'd rather see Sacramento and Okay see than Milwaukee, Chicago or Phoenix or Utah or Philadelphia, even
New Orleans. They've been playing much better ball still without Zion. I saw this quote post game from Terrence Man as we were efforting some postgame audio from the players, but he said this quote, I won't say, but we found a few things. Hopefully we can bring it out in the play in game or in the playoffs. I think tonight was about seeing what works against them, what they're good at, week at and hopefully executing down the line. He also said, we got four guys where, we got guys coming
back. We got guys in good places. Even though it's a four game losing streak, we can learn from it. So morale still high with this Clippers team. They've been battling all season long. They continued too, it was just an uphill battle against a hot three point shooting team in the Denver Nuggets tonight, and sometimes you just gotta tip your cab and say, okay, they had their night. They normally shoot thirty five percent from the outside.
They shot fifty. Also worth monitoring, Robert Covington had an ice pack on his right hand, like he injured it in a play with Jamichael Green. That is something worrisome, something to keep an eye on. Roco just came back and those are the fastest hands in the West. May am I living with these hands George Constanza style. He's not a hand model. I don't know if that would be Kawhi Leonard since he has the biggest hands in the league, at least for his size. Clippers next game coming up Friday,
back home against Philadelphia. They get two days off. This is the good thing. The schedule Finally, the five games and seven nights they're ova and the Clippers just got three days off, two more coming and then three more days off, so they're gonna have a chance to really get some practices in, to work on things to get guys rest down the stretch for these final eight. But tonight they lose by twelve in Denver. Before we get out of here, I do want to thank the Clippers organization, Noah Eagle,
Brian Semen, Ralph Lawlor, big Brother, Jake Warner. We'll see you on Friday, and back here in studio, our producer Katie Newton, who gave me a jacket to wear his pants just like Chris Cross will make a jump jump and everything's just backwards here. I guess I weren't short so much. My cows are popping, but still not the way I want to end things. Until Friday, but the Clippers back home against Philadelphia seventy six ors Free game show at six thirty on Adam Mossle. We'll talk to you
that this has been Clippers talk. They accepted the challenge, your first post game opportunity to talk LA Clippers without a Mossley. It's what we've always seen from him. Tune in next game for all the action on the official home of your LA Clippers, and I just absolutely loved listen to the games on the radios out goodbye and check out the Clippers Talk podcast on the iHeart Radio app.
